I don't know why but i happen to have ipad pro 12.9 5th gen, ipad pro 11 4th gen and galaxy tab s8 ultra, galaxy tab s6 and just for fun i tested HDR video in all 4 devices i used my s22 to take a photo Again this was done unprofessional way, i did this just for fun. this does not represent real wolrd of this devices, but not quite off. idk if you want to see bit nore accurate pic use your phone since most case that should be your best display in your house. i set all this devices too max brightness order of photo is 1. ipad pro 11 2. galaxy tab s6 3. ipad pro 12.9 4. galaxy tab s8 again this was done purely for fun. this method lf testing have alot of flaws, but it can show you basic idea of differences between LCD, OLED,mini LED displays. if you think this pic is worthless its fine, it probably is. if you think there is better way to test it sure, do it and share it, i would love too see.

Hello, I'd like to get a tablet, I don't really need it, but I'd like to get one. I already have gaming desktop pc, 6 years old not very portable 15.6" gaming laptop (which I still use for work when I'm not home) and a "small" phone pixel 3a and I'm getting a galaxy s22 soon. As you can see I'm not in the apple ecosystem. I'd like to get a tablet to use around the house, in bed (my laptop gets too hot) and for when I travel or for when I don't need a full pc when I'm around. My main use would be: youtube, netflix, movies, web browsing, social medias and discord, reading e-books and why not some gaming. IPAD MINI PROS: very portable I'd easily carry it everywhere, perfect size for reading, better app optimization than on android, longer support (I guess at least 6 years), cheaper, brighter display for use outside of home, minor but it has better games or better optimized games than android (afaik), center stage (not that important really) CONS: only 64GB (is it enough?), smaller display for media consumption and general use, Ipad OS isn't that well optimized on the Mini in terms of UI sizing, extra money if I want the pen, jelly scrolling, no vanced youtube (goated app I love it) GALAXY TAB S8 PROS: Bigger storage and basically unlimited storage for movies on the sd if I travel, bigger (and good) display is better to watch movies and general use overall, 120Hz refresh rate, you get a pen and a keyboard (but no trackpad, idk how it is to use a tablet with keyboard but no trackpad), you get another tablet that I hope I could sell for 150€ at least, so total cost could go to 480€ but I'd probably get the 45W charger for 45€ so 525€ total (same as Ipad mini), samsung dex can make it more similar to a pc use, better multitasking, better internal camera placement (not that important really), youtube vanced, I have an android phone and I will have a galaxy s22 soon. CONS: Less portable, probably too big for reading and especially out of home like at the beach (what do you think, is it too big?), less bright screen for outside use, worse app optimization (like discord is terrible afaik), less years of support (4 vs the many of the ipad), worse selection of games and less optimized games (none of the famous games runs at 120fps). Considering these things and what products I already own, what would you pick and why? Thanks

Hello, I've got a problem with a tablet and I'm out of ideas to fix it so I'm asking this forum to help me out please ^^ I've got a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.5 Model SM-T800 which is always rebooting. I see the Galaxy Tab logo then the samsung lettering appearing then it resets by it self. I do not have acces to the home menu. I do have acces to install a custom OS. Here's what I've done so far: - Fully charge the tablet - Fully drain the battery for 1 day then charge back to 100% - Tried with and without SD Card - Wipe cache - Factory reset - Install the lastest official firmware (provided by sammobile) - Install the 1st release firmware (provided by sammobile) - I've opened the tab and check-up on the PCB, every things is fine, the battery isn't bloated I'm not accustomed to fix tablet btw. My biggest issue was when I tried installing a new firmware it "did work". The loading is doing fine, once it is done it says installing and once the progress bar reaches about 40% it says erasing then it restarts. I think the installation works even if it keep bootlooping because when I go into recovery mode it shows the version that I've installed. So... help me linustechtips you are my only hope =)

Hey, so It's pretty simple: I want to upgrade my Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 7 inch version (T230) to at least Android 7.0 but I'm struggling to find any proof whether or not it will work. There are a bunch of custom ROMs for Tab 3, including Lineage OS (which is what I was aiming for, but it doesn't support Tab 4 apparently), however, nothing trustworthy for Tab 4. If anyone could provide some assistance it would be greatly appreciated!

I might be the only person on the planet still interested in high-end Android tablets, and even I missed Samsung's announcement of the Galaxy Tab S4. Quick facts: 10.5", 2560x1600 SAMOLED screen - No word if it's pentile or full RGB subpixel matrix yet but I believe the previous ones have been full RGB. The displays on the previous Tab S devices have been great from what I have heard and seen. I am super happy that they have gone back to 16:10 aspect ratio though. Snapdragon 835 SoC (last year's model, used in the Samsung Galaxy S8) - Disappointing to see it being last year's model and not the 845 like in the Galaxy S9. 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM - A bit on the low side for a high-end Android device but it should be fine. Would have liked to see 6GB. 64GB or 256GB of storage, plus support for a microSD card - Pretty good. The 256GB model comes with a 100 dollar price premium, which isn't too bad if you ask me. But I would probably prefer using a cheap microSD card for mass storage anyway. 7300mAh battery - Seems about right for a tablet of that size. Not much else to say. 249.3x164.3x7.1mm (482 grams) - So it a bit on the thick and heavy side. USB type-C, 3.5mm headphone jack and included stylus - It lacks a fingerprint sensor but otherwise it seems logical and fine. 650 dollars and will be available on August 10th. Other features include: POGO contacts for a keyboard (sold separately for 150 dollars). Support for DeX (Windows-like desktop environment where apps runs in windows). Stereo audio. Rear and front cameras (13MP and 8MP respectively) but with flashes (front facing flash?). Iris scanner (probably the same as the Galaxy S9). Support for Samsung KNOX. Personally, depending on how much this will cost when it comes to Sweden I will get one, or the Huawei MediaPad M5. I got a Sony Z4 Tablet that I use everyday, but it's starting to show its age. My 7 inch galaxy tab 4 is making me mad for 2 reasons 1. The WiFi is absolutely unbearable, sometimes it doesn't even work in the same room as the router 2. Sometimes when I plug it in it shorts itself out and turns off, i've tried a bunch of cables and wall plugs, all of them do it These issues have been bugging me for months now, Please help.

So I've come to notice that Android 5 Lollipop has not yet come to tablets like the galaxy tab 4. being that the tablet was released less than a year ago (april 2014) it can't possibly be outdated yet (atleast i hope). So anyone have any #Intel on when Samsung will release the update or has this not been mentioned yet by them?

Okay, judging by sales figures tablets sales are falling, and I just had this thought. If tablets are getting replaced by larger smartphones, won't this mean smartphones will be the only devices we will ever need. But, smartphones won't go over 6'' (unless someone makes a jeans pocket that is able to hold huge devices!), and we still a large screen for productivity and this means that laptops are here to stay. But, I heard laptops are losing sales too. So, what the heck is happening?

I have an old galaxy tab 2 (gt-p3110) that was abandoned for reasons of the buy of a better android device, my nexus 5. Yesterday I decided to put a cyanogenmod in it, just to make the user experience better enough to me starting using it again, but shit happens. I was having some trouble with loading the stable rom files to the sd card, so I loaded the latest version, but when I was trying to install it, it keeping showing the status 7 error, which I learn to solve here by editing one file. But now, after installing the cyanogenmod my tablet wont boot, it keep spinning the cyanogenmod logo forever and ever. I need help restoring it to the original samsung mode or to the latest stable version of cyanogenmod (which I think is v.10) without making anything on the android side, because it wont boot I count with you guys! since now, thanks!!!!!
