Hey everybody! edit: I'm so sorry for such a long post, really needed to vent this First of all I'm sorry if this is the wrong place to post this kind of thing, it's literally my first post here. I'm not sure if I need/want help at this point, just really want to vent my experience and break down what happened to get some inputs/feedback if there are any. English is not my first language so I'm sorry if I say anything silly. About a month ago I bought a 2022 Asus Zephyrus G15 GA503RS laptop on a physical IT store nearby. It came with 16GBs of RAM and an empty slot. As I was buying it, I asked the store guy to get me a compatible 32GB ram stick, and ended up getting a "Team Group SO-DIMM 32GB DDR5 4800Mhz Elite CL40" so that I could upgrade it to 48GBs. Once I arrived home and was opening the laptop to install the new ram stick, I noticed the seal was broken. I should've just stopped there and see it as a red flag, but thought maybe they just opened it to test something and didn't think too much about it at the time. (but I did take a photo just in case) The laptop came with no operating system. My intention was to run Linux on it since it's what use on my daily job, but eventually decided to install Windows just to make sure everything was working properly. At first I didn't get any issues with the laptop (was just installing stuff / setting up my environment / there was no real work load on it), but after a week or 2 I had to go to the office and finally got to use it properly. Shortly after running VirtualBox on it and get some work done, the computer froze and got some screen artifacts. There was nothing I could do, so had to force shut down. Once it came back to life I started looking for possible GPU problems on reddit, and shortly after it froze again. 590f3e.mp4 Since the laptop came with no OS, I gave it the benefit of the doubt and thought maybe I screwed up installing the drivers, and on the following days I spent some time making sure everything was properly installed. I've assembled my previous 3 desktops, have an engineering degree and my previous (still functional) laptop, a Toshiba L850 has been up a running for the past 11 years with all the maintenance (and several replaced parts) done by me, so the Tech in me tried to "solve the problem" instead of playing dumb and just returning it to the store. After double checking everything, the laptop would sometimes still crash. I disabled sleep mode since it also seemed to be an issue (it would sleep and not come back) and from time to time it would also freeze on the boot logo (before getting to the BIOS) e04209.mp4 Shortly before the 30 days return policy and since I was going to return it without the ram stick, I gave it a last shot and tried to run MemTest86 to see if there were any obvious red flags. 41 seconds into the test (booted from a USB drive, so there was on OS / drivers in play) the laptop froze once again. I then removed the extra ram stick, ran everything, and... after 2hours, it PASSED. I then went to the store and tried to explain the whole troubleshoot process, gave them images/proof and told them to consider a faulty ram stick or a faulty ram slot. I didn't find the original package for the ram stick, but I had a couple anti-static bags from HDs at home, so I did a nice package to transport it. They said something like "We can't declare it as Dead On Arrival since you already installed an extra stick, but we will send it to Asus RMA" Well... I kinda understand that I "tampered with the device", but how would I find out about a faulty slot without ever using it? Or a fault ram stick without using it? It's like buying a new motherboard, attaching stuff to it (it's what they're made for) and then have some guy saying "well, now that you changed the variables, we can't promise you anything" At the time I was like "Yeah well, whatever, just put everything I said and done on the report and send it to Asus". I'm aware that Asus only takes the "original configuration" on their RMA process, so I asked if I should keep the ram stick to myself or leave it with them. They insisted that I also keep it there, since it could be a stick problem, so they would try to test different sticks on it and also run tests on that one. The process took about 2 weeks and then I received an e-mail saying that everything was ready to be picked up at the store. Once I got there, I asked the guy (this time was actually a girl) if they could tell me the report feedback and she was like "Yeah sure, we haven't looked into it, but they usually leave a written report inside the package" I went to read it and it said something like: "Problem solved. The laptop presented some weird noise on the speakers, and they were replaced under warranty" I was speechless. Didn't they read the whole thing about the crashes and the ram? There was no double check on the report made by the store? I couldn't care less about the speakers, I never even used them and have no idea there was actually a problem or not. The "good news" is, they opened my "tampered device" and found nothing wrong with it. I then asked if they even tried to troubleshoot the second ram slot, and they were like "Oh, since it originally comes empty, Asus will not test that". So... I can now start selling laptops with faulty slots because "the empty ones will not be tested anyway", how does that work? I asked for my ram stick and the lady started looking for it (oh god) saying it had to be somewhere... it was sent without any packaging just stumbling around on an empty card box. Now I started getting really angry and trying to fight for my rights, it was no longer about "helping them troubleshoot the thing", I wanted to see something getting done. The ram stick has a life time warranty (whatever that means) so I asked if they at least concluded that there was a problem there, and the lady tells me "Well, if you want, you can leave it here and we will test it for you" Lady... You guys have been holding it for the past 2 weeks, wasn't that the whole point of leaving it here? She ended up apologizing for the whole thing, asked for 1 more week there and said they would RMA it again to Asus while trying to make sure the original report was accounted for. Any input you guys can give me on this? What are my options here? Any known policy on empty slots? How can I ask them to make sure they work since "they are unused on the original configuration"? I get the feeling I'm gonna end up with my money burned on this, they will take no accountability for the whole thing and just say "it is what it is".

So after I bought this laptop and completed the windows setup i checked the Nvidia Control Panel's System information and it showed that "Advanced Optimus" was available and I had a complete "Display mode" tab under 3D Settings. However, after the system downloaded some Windows updates and required a restart, the "Advanced Optimus" option became disabled and the "Display mode" tab disappeared. Here's what I've tried so far to resolve the issue: Uninstalling the recently installed updates. installing different graphics drivers. Performing a complete clean installation of the graphics drivers using DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller). Trying multiple BIOS installations. Resetting Windows. Unfortunately, none of these attempts have been successful, and I'm at a loss as to whether the hardware is actually incompatible with "Advanced Optimus" or if it was just a visual bug initially. I'm reaching out to the community for any suggestions, advice, or possible solutions to enable "Advanced Optimus" or restore the "Display mode" tab if they have been disabled or affected by the recent updates. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

I've been looking to by a new g15 (3070 to be precise) and I can't help but notice that Asus are really bad about spec consistency. All the videos that I've watched from the US give all the g15 variants as having the ryzen 9 5900HS but on any UK store, the models belowa 3080 only have a ryzen 7. Anybody got any clue why this is or how I can get my hands on a decent one? I don't mind having a US keyboard if that's what it takes. It also doesn't help that the specs on the ROG site are horribly inconsistent and make no sense in the first place. They are also different from the US version to the UK version :/

Hi everyone I have been using my Logitech G15 for a few years now and I absolutely love it. The LCD,the USB passthrough, the built in media controls, the macro keys and the windows lock button are awesome. The one thing I don't like about it is typing, which is kind of important for a keyboard. Generally it is just fine, especially for gaming it doesn't really matter, but when I'm typing large documents for school it really just doesn't feel nice to type on. It is too soft, heavy unresponsive and uncomfortable to type on. I have already accepted that there is no keyboard with the same kind of awesome built in lcd screen but I really want to keep my macros and USB passthrough if possible. Nowhere can I find a keyboard that fits my criteria, even if I were to have no budget limitations. The old corsair K95 had everything but the lcd screen but I can not for the life of me find one used in the Netherlands and obviously it is no longer being sold new. The absolute most I can spend on a keyboard would be 100 euros but that is really a lot for me and would have to be a product I know I can use for the next 5+ years. Do you guys have any recommendations? I do really want it to be mechanical, preferably with brown or blue switches. TL;DR Want to replace G15 but keep macros,USB passthrough and media controls with a brown/blue switch keyboard. Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks

Hello, I would like to seek for your opinion if this Zephyrus G15 GA503QM is worth its price or I could find a better laptop for the same price (1500€) ? Thank you in advance!

Can't seem to find any information about this issue I'm having so I figures I could try here. I do video editing on the daily and like to move back and forth between my desktop and G15 so I have a Sandisk external ssd I use to go back and forth. On my desktop I connect via the USB-C port and have zero issues. Performance is almost on par as if with an internal ssd. But when I move to my G15 performance is the same except when first "accessing" the drive. It's most noticeable in Premiere Pro where whenever I leave the program to browse the internet or something and come back to Premiere. When I switch back to premiere I always have to wait 10-15 seconds for it to 'access' the drive. After that 10-15 second wait it works perfect until I leave premiere and come back. Another example I have is when I copy something over to the drive without using it for awhile, the progress bar opens, sit's at 0% for 10-15 seconds, then transfers the file at the expected speeds. For awhile I thought it may be the drive itself, but on my desktop pc it work flawlessly. I can't think of anything other than some hidden power setting that I haven't found yet. A few things I've tried: -Uninstalling the USB drivers and reinstalling -Disabling "allow windows to turn off this device when not in use" via device manager -Disabling "turn off usb when not in use" in advanced power management -Disabled power saving in "USB settings" -Enabling windows to cache buffer on the drive -Tried via usb A ports -Tried different cable -Same issue with different Samsung external ssd Any help would be amazing!

In November, my friend asked for a laptop so I searched for it and she got this model -ASUS ROG G15 G512-ES76-, which was affordable at the time in terms of price and features. We no longer have a chance to return the laptop, so we want to get the best performance out of this. You can see specs here. Look for the G512LW-ES76 CPU: Intel® Core™ i7-10750H Processor 2.6 GHz (12M Cache, up to 5.0 GHz, 6 cores) GPU: NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 2070 8GB GDDR6 RAM: 2x8 16GB DDR4 3200MHz Ram (they're on dual channel mode and chips are 1r8) SSD: Intel 660P 1TB SSD 1800/1800 MB/s (%7 Over-Provisioning) BATTERY: 66WHrs, 4S1P, 4-cell Li-ion I've been testing this computer for about a week. I'm a desktop user, so I don't know much about some features of laptops. I watched the review and test videos of laptops with the same specifications to see the performance that the laptop should have. Laptop can reach the same fps as in the videos. I'd say it works fine when the computer is plugged in. The CPU (45W) and GPU (115W) are reaching their required wattage. I can say it works really hot, 95°C on GPU and CPU. This device uses liquid metal and i thought it needs to be replace. But consequently it can not come out so a big impact. Because game and benchmark results are normal. When I run this laptop on battery, the world collapses on me. I don't get stuck in FPS lock. I deactivated this option in Geforce Experience and Intel Graphics. I am running in performance mode. I activate performance mode wherever possible. I choose it to use the external video card in windows settings. P.S. This device doesn't have optimus option. While running on battery, the gpu and cpu is stuck at 30-40W power limit and 55°C temperature limit. Only minecraft non rtx mod is playable -less than 100 fps-. Ac odyssey, which is avg. 55 fps when connected to the wall, gets 8 fps when connected to the battery. Minecraft Bedrock RTX, which is avg. 90 fps when connected to the wall, gets 15 fps when connected to the battery. Is there a way to remove the temperature and power limit? Is this because the battery is not delivering enough watts?

So I'm getting the AMD Advantage Edition G15 (5900hx, 6800m) that Linus reviewed a week ago or two. So I ordered this x2 for the laptop. https://www.pny.eu/en/consumer/explore-all-products/memory/1519-xlr8-ddr4-3200mhz-notebook-memory---16gb Should this ram be supported? Is it 8x or 16x memory chips? If not supported/slow type I can return them... and would love suggestions for fast RAM for it!

I need a new laptop for work and it needs a pretty heavy GPU, however that means I'm limited to gaming laptops. If you were in a work meeting and one of the suits in the room had an Asus G15, how would you react? All rgb off and the red plate switched for the more neutral one. Or should I spend more money on a crappier power draw GPU and get the g14 in black?

Recently, I picked up the new ASUS ROG Zephyrus G15 equipped with a 5900HS and a 3060 (laptop). While I was playing League of Legends, I seem to be getting strangely low FPS, around 150fps and sometimes in busy fights dipping as low as 100fps. Compared to my gaming desktop (i9 10850k + 1660 Super) that would get at least 250fps most of the time, this surprised me a bit. I know comparing a laptop with a desktop getting seems like an unfair comparison, but League isn't all that hard to run even on high settings and the 5900HS + 3060 (laptop) should be powerful enough to at least pump better performance. Although I have League on max settings, turning down the settings doesn't make much of a difference. I've set my laptop to performance mode and even tried turbo mode, but there is barely any difference. I'm running the game off the 3060 and not the iGPU. I have the latest windows update, latest drivers in MyAsus and Armory Crate, etc. I have nothing intensive running in the background, just Firefox (around 3 tabs), Discord, Spotify, and HWiNFO64 + RTSS for monitoring my usage. I was just wondering if it's normal to have the FPS I'm getting currently in League. If anyone else with a similar configuration could tell me what kind of FPS they're getting on League, that would be great.

Hi I'm looking to buy a laptop like this, any past experiences with it?

This is sorta my review and thoughts on my current laptop for both collage and gaming. Basic specs: i7 10750H 1650 ti (4gb vram) 16gb sodimm 512gb intel ssd 1080p 144hz panel about 60ish% srgb ips 50wh li-ion battery to begin with the laptop itself is in my opinion pretty had to justify given its retail price of 1150$ (usd) but i purchased mines for 999 so its less of a blow. performance: The intel i7 10750H feels very overpowered for the 1650ti in the sense that the gpu is always maxing out while the i7 is just turboing for no reason at 15 to 30% usage. further more thanks to the amped up 6 core trying to reach 5ghz constanty battery life is quite low. Stock settings allow for about 2 hours of usage on max brightness, take note that the display isnt very bright either but more of that later. this usage can be solved by throtleling the perfomance. ive used throthle stop for this and undervolted the cpu by 100.5mv to maintain stabilyti altough you can you 110 but it can be unstable. aside unddervolting it i aplied clock mod to reduce the clock speed to 75 % of its native speed and limiting all core frequency to 3.5ghz. given these compromises now i can get about 4 hours on a full charge while maintaining full brightness or a lil below it. but if your not a very techsavy person i would not recomend this. as it requires thinkering wth the bios and such. Gpu performance: being a 1650 ti with 4gb of vram this card hits its limit quite easly by simpling pushing up the graphical settings if you want a fidelity focudes expirience. but for fps games it can push solid 90+ fps on medium and low settings quite easy. the games ive played so far have been fortnite, gta V , warzone and train sim 2. theres really not much to it aswell aside it getting a bit hot when nearing its limits. ie 80c , for this i undervolted the gpu by about 90mv to keep it undercontrol but it dint work that well. all in all its alright i supose. Display: its mediocre being an ips panel i expected more from it being honest. refresh rate is great at 144hz providing smooth browsing and scrolling, but whats the point if its gpu cant really hit 144hz at decent quaility settings? i would trade it for a 120hz or 90hz display for better image quality or higher brightness since the colors are dull and bland and brightness suffers a bit in lit enivroments. battery: its bad. for a gaming laptop i guess its alright but less than 3 hours on stock settings is very concerning. i tought the battery was damaged when i realized this, but after running test its fine. a bigger battery is really needed in this in my opinion. Multitasking: its awesome for that as you can expect for a 6 core cpu and plenty of ram to go about. keyboard and track pad: a bit clicky for typing but decently big, its not very ergonomic feeling but works whilest the track pad is a bit on the small yet enough side of things. the ssd is decent. all in all this is pretty terrible value considering you can get rtx 3050 laptops for this price. i really dont recomend this unless its your only option like me thanks to the chip shortage. excuse the badly spelled english, its not my main language. any questions or doubts ask ahead.

Hello, I'm looking for replacements to these pieces of kit that I have been rockin' for well over a decade now. Unfortunately they are nearing the end of their life and have been excellent products which is why I'd like to buy Logitech products again. Here's some information: https://techgage.com/article/logitech_g15_gaming_keyboard/ (Released 2005) https://www.gamersnexus.net/hwreviews/139-logitechg5mouse (Released 2007) Are there any good Logitech replacements out there that are similar/current? Keyboard - If you have ideas and it ends up being a mechanical keyboard then it must be as quiet as possible. The G1 to G18 keys on my old one above have been unused since my WoW/EVE days so a keyboard with G Keys is non-essential. Mouse - If you have ideas for the mouse my only requirement is that the thing doesn't have 20 buttons on it and looks like this thing folded up. Which I assume will feel uncomfortable. I hope this is something you guys can help me with. Any support here would be greatly appreciated

Hi All, My brother needs a new gaming laptop and as he doesn't know much has come to me to choose one for him. I have currently narrowed it down to the 2 options below: HP Omen 15-en1000na for £1175 CPU- Ryzen 5800H GPU- RTX 3070 1tb SSD 16GB RAM 15.6" 1440p 165hz Display - 300 nits 1 Year Warranty OR ASUS ROG Zephyrus G15 for £1450 CPU- Ryzen 5900HS GPU- RTX 3080 1tb SSD 16GB RAM 15.6" 1080p 144hz Display - 250 nits 2 Years Warranty I'm not sure which one to go for but think these are both great deals (all new). The issue with the Asus is the screen being 1080p and only 250nits and my brother doesn't use a monitor. The 3080 would is kinda overkill and seems like such a let down on a otherwise beautiful laptop. The issue with the Omen is the build quality and apparently the 3070 gets restricted resulting in it being a low performing 3070. Therefore is 1440p too much for that gpu? I guess i'm asking out of these 2 options what would you go for? Thanks in advance, he wants to order it today and i can't get my head straight

Hello, I have a 2021 ASUS ROG ZEPHRUS G15 GA503Q (3070 model, Ryzen 9 5900HS Grey 16GB ram.) My Fans will randomly go to MAX rpm with no reason. There will be nothing going on in the background, Armory crate will report low temps for CPU and GPU (40C or lower, it doesnt matter how low) the fans will go full bore no matter what. No heavy tasks in task manager, nothing. Just sitting here. ( the only thing I have found Is ASUS' My ASUS software will report the actual temp (Below 40C) and then spike to like 112-115C for a few seconds, then show like 38C. It will just keep going back and forth in MyASUS. Armory Crate (AC) will just report the seemingly correct low temp. I have been told they had some QC issues with this laptop when it first came out. (LTT did a video saying this may be the best gaming laptop of that year) I have one, and it has the fan issue, My friend who reccomended me the laptop said he had to return his first one for issues. My dad has one for his work computer at my recomendation that does not have this issue. but he recently got one for his home office (one at work one at home) because he likes it so much and the home office one has the same fan issue as mine, probably worse. the only way I can get it to stop is a power off and back on, sometimes it will start right away again, sometimes that will fix it. I have tried mulitple fresh windows 10 installs, uninstalling the MyASUS program, fresh install of Armory Crate, etc. It doesnt matter what AC power setting I am on is (silent, preformance, turbo, etc.) or if im plugged in or on Batt. Has anyone had this issue and found a fix? or do we need to start the RMA process on the 2 computers with the issue ? Thank you in advance. -Bourdaga

Hello Guys! I am in search for a mechanical keyboard that could replace my G15 but the problem is that I can't find anything that can replace the little display on the G15, I saw the GOverlay but that seems a little raw. Do you have something to recommend me??

Hey community, looking for your recommendations here: Scenario: I currently use a Logitech G15 (first version) at work, a keyboard that I've been using in various gaming or work capacities for a decade. It's fairly responsive, I appreciate the fact that it has adjustable backlighting and a good number of macro keys. The screen's pretty fun, but I don't use it for gaming any more, so I mostly use it for computer statistics and time now. Recently some of the keys have been showing their age, the LED backlighting is flickering in some areas, and I've been considering replacing it. I use the keyboard currently for work, I use a few of the G keys for macros, I need the backlighting (but not super bright lighting) as I work in the dark (night shift) and occasionally I can't find the key by pattern/feel. What I'd like: A mechanical keyboard with a little feedback, but not loud (work environment). Keyboard must have the number pad and dedicated macro keys similar to the G keys on various Logitech keyboards, six macro keys minimum. Adjustable backlighting (software or button on keyboard) is desirable. RGB is unnecessary, but if I can set it at a soft level of lighting in one solid color, that's fine. I'm thinking Cherry MX brown switches. This keyboard will likely never be used for gaming (aside from maybe the occasional browser adventure through archive.org). Any recommendations?

So I have a first gen G15 and the space bar doesn't work and I couldn't (after trying to fix it) get it back together. I was thinking about taking the screen and mainboard to get a performance monitor (and 2 port USB hub). Do you think this would be a fun project or more trouble than its worth? All the parts work.

I recently got a logitech G15 for free and wanted to setup Gmail but whenever I try i get an error. I've been looking around and it seems to be Gmail needs SSL but the gaming software doesn't have that. Does anybody know of a solution? Thank in advance.

I have lived on a g15 keyboard for most of my life. I have done some research on mechanical keyboards, including feeling different key types. I found cherry red was my favorite. I looked around and saw corsair k70 (non rgb) would be great choice about everywhere I look. are there any other recommendations before I pull the trigger in next few days? I don't care about RBG, num pad is nice but not a deal breaker. budget is around $100.

Amazon: http://geni.us/1396 Is the Meccanoid G15 KS a great robotics kit for curious young minds, or is it an obnoxiously cute (and slightly creepy) hunk of junk?

I've got a Logitech G15 (the orange one) and since last week I've got an issue with a key don't working at all. The key is the left Windows key one (the right Windows key works). I've checked the following without success: I've disabled and enabled several times the 'game mode' toggle to see if it was stuck or something, but it didn't work. I've removed the key to check for dust or something under the key, but it was clean (I cleaned the whole keyboard in summer). I've used the back of a thin pen to push the gummy thing below the key (where the plastic key actually presses) to see if it works, but it doesn't. Any suggestion on what to try next? Any idea why could this be happening?

Did you ever unintentionally poured your drink over a keyboard and some keys aren't working anymore? Then here is the solution to your problems (i will demonstrate it on a Logitech G15 Gen1 i got really cheap on ebay because it had some dead keys) Here are some things you will need: - conductive silver lacquer - a cheap multi-meter - a small phillipshead screwdriver - a small knife or something similar - a toothstick (to get the conducting silver onto the foil) - hole pliers - a keyboard thats not working correctly continuing in the next post due to the image-limit per post
