I have a ASUS ROG Zephyrus 2021. I am trying to factory reset my laptop, but when I tried I got stuck on the BitLocker Recover screen. When I enter my BitLocker Code, I get this error message from my laptop (image). When I close it, it brings me back to the BitLocker screen. F11 and ESC also bring me back to BitLocker. What do I do?

I bought this Asus ROG G14 on Best Buy due to the sale. Is this amount of backlight bleed normal, should I get it replaced. This is actually an exchanged unit. Previously I had an open box unit but it had a rattling trackpad and 8% battery wear. So after I saw the sale, I exchanged it for this sealed box one. But I guess this also has issues.

Nitro 5 not cutting it so I'm preparing to open my wallet to get the laptop I actually want. Problem is, I thought what I wanted was the G14 (been admiring it since it was announced) but after researching options the M15 is tempting me too. I am aware that the Ryzen 5000 / RTX 3000 machines are dropping soon but the price is higher, gaming performance isn't that much better (considering the price), and they might not be readily available for awhile so I'm not really considering those. I will use whatever I get for gaming (AAA singleplayer games, max details, 30-50fps goal) as well as photo editing (Lightroom), occasional 1080P video editing (Resolve) and 3d rendering (Blender) plus general use of course. Configurations I'm looking at: G14 R9 4900HS RTX 2060 Max-Q 16GB 3200MT/s DDR4 1TB NVMe 1080P 120hz Freesync M15 i7 10750H RTX 2070 Max-Q 16GB 2933/3200MT/s DDR4 (seen conflicting info on mem speed) 1TB NVMe 1080P 240hz fixed Bear with me, I've put a lot of thought into this lol My considerations, in no particular order... CPU G14 is the obvious winner here. 10750H has similar single-thread perf but loses to the 4900HS big time on multithread and power consumption. Still looks a powerful CPU, just not as awe-inspiring as Renoir and 90W PL2 in a laptop is a bit cringe especially when the 'Zen does more with a 65W Turbo. GPU Win for the M15 with a fully-enabled TU106 and more memory on a wider bus. 2060 is no slouch and impressive for a 14" but I am concerned about only 6GB of VRAM and fewer CUDA & RT cores given I like to max out settings and will want to use raytracing (with DLSS of course). Getting the best GPU I can (while not compromising too much on anything else) is a big deal for me and the affordable 2070 option is what caught my eye about the M15 to begin with. As for iGPU on the other hand, a big win for the G14. Intel UHD 630 is basically a web browsing GPU in my mind while the Vega 8 in the Ryzen actually has some strength, opening up possibilities for photo editing and light gaming on battery. Portability G14 wins, it's just ridiculously compact. The M15 doesn't look too bad at all though as far as 15" laptops go and given the hardware inside. Either would be significantly smaller and lighter than the 2018 Nitro I'm using now (which is a bit lorge but not exactly massive) however I admit I am really tempted by the "gaming Ultrabook" shtick of the G14. Tweakability Lead for the M15 here as the CPU can be undervolted in the BIOS and Turbo multipliers & Power Limits can be controlled with Throttlestop just like with every other Intel laptop I've used for years. G14 only gets control over CPU TDP & ability to disable Turbo entirely, however I'm not sure the Ryzen strictly needs the same level of user control over CPU since it "just works" though I do like having the option. With either laptop I fully intend on doing the Shunt Mod to de-Max-Q-ify the GPU; the mod is well-documented on the G14 but not so on the M15 which means I'd have to spend more time figuring it out (yes I know that's a risky mod; I've been overclocking since sticking wires directly into CPU sockets and swapping clockgen crystals was a thing & it takes a lot to phase me at this point ) Expandability Win for the M15 naturally. G14 basically has USB ports and that's it. M15 has an open second M.2 slot (I already have a 512GB SSD that I could drop in) and Thunderbolt 3. TB3 means eGPUs become an option (I am aware of the performance hit over TB) which sounds real nice; I could retire my shitbox Piledriver system and put the Vega 64 into an enclosure for rendering/mining/hashing/folding/etc at home and then upgrade to a 2080Ti or something next year when/if used prices drop again. Display Seems close, lead for the G14 though. Both displays reportedly have good color accuracy and contrast which is important to me for photo editing (something I haven't even bothered trying on the Nitro with its mediocre panel). Freesync on the G14 is an enticing feature (I'm almost certain it supports LFC too which I need) though the lack of it on the M15 is somewhat offset by the 240hz refresh rate. Gaming at 30-50fps with Vsync ON actually sounds viable at 240hz, whereas at 60hz the lag can be pretty bad in my experience. Build Quality Both machines have a magnesium unibody chassis which I like (I won't seriously consider an all-plastic laptop anymore I don't think) but the G14 wins out with the milled aluminum lid and (stamped?) magnesium bottom panel while the M15 makes do with plastic lid and plastic bottom panel (there is a metal lid M15 out there but it's more $$$ and BB doesn't carry it). The amount of Plastic on the M15 puts me off and honestly is potentially a bigger deal-breaker than any other consideration since I want something that will be durable and withstand being tossed in a bag with all my other stuff and toted around. I don't want a laptop that feels cheap, I don't want one that bends when I open the screen, and I don't want one that's going to be all cracked to shit after a few years of heavy use or a single bad drop. The finish wearing off wouldn't bother me one bit, structural damage would. Machines I've used like Unibody MacBook Pro, PowerBook G4, HP Elitebook & zBook, and (surprisingly) EVOO Elite have set the bar and I don't think I'd be happy going too far under it even if the rest of the specs are great. Price/Value Tie. The M15 is a bit more expensive but Best Buy has open-box deals for the same price on both machines. Misc. I like that the M15 has an RGB keyboard. A minor thing but a bonus. I also like that the M15 has a quality DAC/amp on the headphone jack since I game with Sony XB950N1 cans. The G14 allegedly has much better speakers but I'm not sure I care about that toooo much. Don't mind the lack of webcam. Thanks for reading if you made it to the end. TL;DR After researching for a couple weeks I'm not sure if the G14 is actually the right machine for me or if I've just been fetishizing the "gaming Ultrabook" pitch this whole time. The M15 does have better specs nearly across the board (except for the very mediocre CPU and lack of Freesync), has more expandability, and does not seem to be that much larger- however the build quality is doing me a big concern. What do y'all think?

I own a Zephyrus G14 with Ryzen 7 4800HS and I bought it like 6 months ago, sometimes(ocassionally) when it heats up in silent mode I open Armoury crate to check cpu usage and it's 30-40% constant....BUT WHEN I OPEN TASK MANAGER IT DROPS DOWN IN AN INSTANT TO 4-5%! why does this happen.....unnecessary heating even in silent mode. I also can't figure out what services use that extra CPU as it doesn't show in Task manager. PLS HELP ME MANNNNNNn!

Specs: GA401QC/5800HS/3050/8gb/1tb NVME/14 inch/MTK MT7921 I was planning to dual boot Win11 and Manjaro, so I upgraded the OOTB Win10 to 11, made a 200 gb partition on the 1tb nvme for Manjaro KDE and installed it. All of this went smoothly. I had my wifi added and connected in windows previously, using the MyAsus latest drivers and it worked well in windows 11. I connected to the wifi in Manjaro, and it connected too. Then I rebooted into windows and the wifi wasn't showing up in the windows control center. Then it randomly bluescreened so i rebooted and then i checked device manager and the wifi adapter showed up to be malfunctioning. I downloaded the wifi driver for win11 from the ga401qc support page and installed it. first time, the installer told me to reboot, then while rebooting my keyboard backlight was on, my display was off, my logitech g102 light was off (which meant the windows kernel probably didnt load). then i force rebooted the machine and installed the driver again, this time successfully. now its installed and working in windows but im scared to boot into linux. is this a well known issue that i didnt find while searching or what

I’ve got a budget of 1500 USD, and I am in a market for a gaming laptop. 3 requirements: 16 GB RAM, RTX 3060, and at least a 120hz screen (more is better. from what I can see, my best options are: The Zephyrus G14 https://www.bestbuy.com/site/asus-rog-zephyrus-14-gaming-laptop-amd-ryzen-9-16gb-memory-nvidia-geforce-rtx-3060-1tb-ssd-moonlight-white/6452913.p?skuId=6452913 The Legion Slim 7 https://www.bestbuy.com/site/lenovo-legion-slim-7-15-gaming-laptop-amd-ryzen-7-5800h-nvidia-geforce-rtx-3060-max-q-16gb-memory-512gb-ssd-shadow-black/6455138.p?skuId=6455138 And the Strix G14 https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-Display-GeForce-Keyboard-G513QM-ES94/dp/B08ZLH4GZ7/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=Strix+g15&qid=1632318527&sr=8-3 which of these would be the best option? Portability is not a large concern (pun not intended). is there nothing better at this price point? Thank you!

for some reason the laptop runs really hot even if the load is almost idle, but sometimes if i restart the laptop cools back down and runs at normal temps, but this doesnt work every time for some reason, the stuff i do is the exact same but it can be 8h battery with cool to touch or barel 3h and the fans are going nuts while still burning up

I need a new laptop for work and it needs a pretty heavy GPU, however that means I'm limited to gaming laptops. If you were in a work meeting and one of the suits in the room had an Asus G15, how would you react? All rgb off and the red plate switched for the more neutral one. Or should I spend more money on a crappier power draw GPU and get the g14 in black?

SO... I DROPPED IT. my new g14 GA401QM. From 3-4 feets to a concrete ground... Everything seems fine except for some scratches on the main chasis and a misshapen Lid/shattered screen. Now luckily the screen has only a bad area of a size about a thumbnail. From what I see now everything else seems functioning. Where should I look for parts though? I checked asusaccessories and they do not have a screen solution to the new model. I wish I can find a whole lid including the backboard and the screen so I wont have to dissemble the glued LCD and break something else. Is it possible to glue a new LCD screen to a Matrix backboard of a previous model so I can have an LED matrix on the new 2021 laptop?? This is a hell of a project I know, but if it is anywhere near possible I would love to try it this summer. Probably have to stick with it now that I have to finish all the course work on it too. Btw - any good webcam suggestions that aren't too expensive? College student here, need to get on zoom with cams sometimes. Logitech and Razer webcams can easily cost up to $100 for the up-to-date models. Attached photo is the shattered screen.

I bought the Asus ROG G14 (2021) with Ryzen 9(5900HS) and RTX 3060 and turns out it had audio problems So when i open Armory crate and set the profile to windows or silent the audio starts acting weird and starts lagging and distorting. however when in set to performance mode the audio acts completely fine. This does not happen when the Laptop is connected to a charger. I tried installing all drivers, did a fresh installation but nothing fixed this. I gave my laptop to Asus and all they did was a clean install of windows and said the issue was fixed, once i got back my device i installed Armoury crate and the issue popped up again. I regret buying this laptop now i spent all my saving on this shitty device someone please help me. I also tried using old drivers but i still faced the same issue, i dont know what exactly the problem is, i can however use the windows generic audio drivers but then its no point because i cant use Dolby access on the generic drivers. i am attaching with this PLEASE HELP LINUS PLEASE HELP 1224290589_WhatsAppVideo2021-06-27at4_04_00AM.mp4 1783060561_WhatsAppVideo2021-06-27at4_06_42AM.mp4

Hello All! I am looking to upgrade from my G14 1660ti. I purchased it a year ago with the intention of selling it and upgrading to the new 30 series G14 when it released. Wondering if people think the performance difference between the 1660ti max q and 3060 max q would make a valued upgrade. or do I wait another year and see what comes with that territory. Looking for people’s input on this! Thanks!

I'm looking to upgrade my G14, I have 8Gb cl22 3200hz ram preinstalled, but im not sure how to go dual channel on ryzen 4000 ( 4800hs to be exact ), im pretty sure cl doesn't matter as long as its as fast or faster it will just clock down, I know that I need the same speed or faster ( which is alow completely unnecessary ) but im not sure if o need to go the same size, would it bee dual-channel whit 8+16? I presume it probably wouldn't but I couldn't find any clear extraction. Thanks for your answers!

Zephyrus G14 Laptop USB Ports randomly stopped working
builder1909 posted a topic in Troubleshooting
Bought a asus zephyrus g14 laptop yesterday to play on the go (specs). Booted up rust today and 30 minutes later both usb ports stopped working randomly. My mouse is no longer detected in device manager. There is no way there's any physical damage, I don't know what else to do. What I've tried: - unplugging/replugging - multiple restarts - Disabled USB selective suspend in power options - tried all power plans - disabled usb power saving options in device manager -
Ok.. long story short a bit of time ago I had my eyes on the G14 because of the battery life good screen, specs and price. Now when I want to buy one the price shot up so I am looking for replacements. Does anyone know any laptop that has: Good battery life A good screen (at least 100 sRGB color accuracy) Decent specs

I recently bought a 2022 Zephyrus G14. I am having issues with the RGB keyboard which is not working at all. When the computer boots white lights turn on for about a second and then it turns off to the lock screen. After opening it I tried using Alt + F4 ```Aura``` keyboard which had no effect at all. Even the keyboard brightness buttons were not responsibe. Then, I did my research and added MyASUS app and Armoury Crate which did a bunch of driver update along with BIOS update. After that If I press ```Aura``` button then it is showing the different modes such as Static, Breathing, Strobing and the display brightness keys also work (I have attached its pictures). Did anyone else have this issue? I'm pretty sure it's a software thing cause if the lights were out they would not be on while booting. Let me know what you guys think?

Do you think this is worth a swap? Do you think it's worth a swap? A little back story is I wanted to sell my Legion 5 Pro 2021 for cash and wanted to get the M2 Macbook Air since I wanted to get away from that gaming life since the legion 5 pro, Is pretty tough to carry to places, Although it's a beast machine with a BEAUTIFUL DISPLAY, and somewhat good cooling, It's fairly heavy. I wanted to start focusing on what I do which is Trading Forex. Would you think this is a good switch? Something lighter with a beautiful display. Good FPS on some games and fairly light too? Do you think this is gonna be a good switch? I heard the G14 2022 is fairly lighter. I just wanna hear your thoughts on what you think with this matter. Or should I just keep my Legion 5 Pro 2021 since I'm not a rush on selling this beautiful laptop. I just wanna know if you guys have any experience with the g14 2022 and your issues with it! I'm open with any recommendations down below! Thank You!

Hey ya'll, I've been thinking about buying the 2022 Zephyrus g14 and the only one that fits my budget at the moment is the 16gb version. I checked the specs on best buy and it says it's upgradable to 24gb DDR5 RAM, but I wanna stick a 32gb stick on the free slot. I find it weird that the g15 says it's expandable to 40gb but not the g14. Can I still stick a 32gb stick without losing too much performance? will it even read the memory? If not, can someone explain why it doesn't work like that please? Thanks

I will preface this. I was unsure if this should go in peripherals or laptops. Hey, so I have come to the sad conclusion that I may need to get rid of my tower at home as I don't really use it as much since my laptop is much more convenient. I will include a parts list later on in post. I am teetering on selling my build and just running my laptop as my gaming station and my work machine. I have been looking online and can't seem to find a clear answer about a good docking station that runs on usb 3.2 gen 2 type c with power passthrough. What wattage is required to work? On top of that I would like to have at a minimum my dual monitor setup. I also would like to continue utilizing my VR headset and my keyboard/ mouse, etc. Is there a good resolution for this to just utilize my laptop to power a full workstation through one docking station? Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. My Tower: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X Asus Tuf Gaming X570 Plus WI-FI 32GB Patriot Viper DDR4-3200 CL16 Samsung 970 Evo Plus 500gb M.2 Samsung 870 Evo 2TB NVIDIA Geforce 1080 Founders Edition NZXT H510 Elite ATX Mid Tower Case 650W power supply from corsair(don't remember the exact model)

I have Asus Rog Zephyrus G14 and the screen looks a bit dull... When I turn on the laptop the screen looks perfect, at least as it should. And after some seconds the armory crate stuff starts to happen like performance/Turbo and other color grading like game visual stuff/vivid and stuff(this is when the color gets dull). Vivid Looks best in this case, but before this effects kicks in it is better and I want to keep it that way. Can someone suggest something that can make the display looks good? or stop the colors settings from getting applied in the first place.

The piece has R005 or P005 on it I made a post on Ifixit asking for repair advice for my motherboard ifixit post link I had to get the fans replaced before had the same problem with them recently whilst changing them the wi fi chips cables touched the main board and started to smoke the machine pictures are where I assume the smoke came from is this repairable without buying a new motherboard? also during repair the battery cables snapped. On my Ifixit post someone mentioned that the burnt piece seems to be replacable and the battery connectors seem like a common issue on Asus laptops. but I needed help locating this specific component to replace on my laptop

I have the 2021 Asus G14, and I have an Asus 144hz 1440p monitor connected to it. I'm using a USB-C to Display port connection that's rated for 60hz 4k and 120hz 2k, yet my monitor still is having bad framerate issues while even having just chrome open. I can only get it to top out at about 40fps, but on the main screen which is the G14 everything is running sharp and at 120hz. I have looked almost anywhere I could think for driver updates and I seem to have updated everything but I'm still having a massive issue. I know the secondary monitor is running off the 3060, and not the radeon graphics as well.

I am planning on getting the ASUS Zephyrus G14 as soon as it releases online, but was wondering which of the 2 Screen Options I should choose? 14-inch Non-glare Full HD (1920 x 1080) IPS-level panel, 120Hz, 100% sRGB, Pantone® Validated, Adaptive sync 14-inch Non-glare WQHD (2560 x 1440) IPS-level panel, 60Hz, 100% sRGB, Pantone® Validated, Adaptive sync There is a 3rd Option but its a 1920 x 1080 with 60Hz. I am planning on getting the G14 with the RTX2060.

Ok so it is not a problem, but I need some trouble shooting. I have Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 Ryzen 7 4800HS, GTX 1650, 8GB RAM, 512GB SSD Model. You may know it has different System modes .Windows, Silent, Performance and Turbo. I did some of my Cinebench R20 Tests(I know not the ideal tests to do here) with Performance and Turbo modes and I saw that my Temps at Performance are hitting 95C. But in Turbo it is hitting 85-90C. I know it is obvious but the Fans are LOUD in Turbo Mode and also that the Power Delivery to the GPU and GPU are bumped up. I bought my laptop about a month ago and I want to use this it for about 4-4.5 Yrs, I watch this video and this guy disabled the the Performance mode (I think) and he makes an argument that it beats 'most' of Intel chips even in the Normal mode(which I guess is the Silent Mode) But it do drops Temps like 25-ish C. Ok so who wants to reduce their performance? (Am I right? lol) No one. and In Comparison to Performance mode the Silent Mode is WEAK. The Max I game on my laptop would be 2 Hrs on a stretch. So my Simple question is Should I do as the video says or do I keep the settings as normal Factory Settings that it came with(i.e. Performance while Plugged in and Silent while on Battery) to get longevity with my Laptop and so it doesn't Thermal Throttle after 2-3 Yrs? P.S.- The Screenshots are not while running the Tests these are when the laptop is Idle.
