Motherboard: ASUS ROG Strix Z590-E CPU: Intel i9-11900k RAM: G.Skill RipJaws V Series 32GB (4 x 8GB) (PC4-32000) CL15-16-16-36 1.50V Model F4-4000C15Q-32GVK GPU: AMD Radeon RT 6950 XT HDD: 990 PRO 2TB https://pcpartpicker.com/user/paradoxumlexx/saved/syDkf7 To spare the long story I've decided to stick with this setup for as long as possible (years), money needs to go to my 80TB unraid server for a while and this thing breezes through anything I've tried so far. Anyway I watercool and I like to overclock. 51/2core 50/5core 49/6 core 1.490vcore I could probably lower my CPU temps but it's stable right now so I wanna play with the ram. I've found eg; https://github.com/integralfx/MemTestHelper/blob/oc-guide/DDR4 OC Guide.md But I really don't have time to learn all of that. As in I'm generally busy with other stuff and it's far too much info for me especially cause it's numbers and ADHD etc. But I do want to eventually understand it and be able to tweak my own ram without referring to guides or copying random peoples timings I find online. I got this with exactly stock XMP settings and just changing 36 to 28 (which I did by accident actually heh). Just give me a few secondary timings and recommended changes and why etc, somewhere to start and I'll play with those. What program should I use in windows to display or even modify timings? Thanks!

Hello kind strangers, Here’s my situation: Finally got everything in for a new system ( except the ssd ) and did a test run today. Not very successful, got a CPU and DRAM light, nothing coming on the screen. MB leds do turn on, gpu leds turn on, and cpu fans spin. I’m thinking it’s most likely the ram because I know my kit isn't on the qvl. It’s a g.skill flare kit and a Asrock b650m pro rs wifi ( I’ll link everything I got below). Now the weird thing is after I tried some basic troubleshooting reseated cpu and ram double checked power cables, I was actually able to get into the bios running 1 stick in the b2 slot and just integrated graphics, no GPU. The CPU and dram lights had turned on at first, then switched to a GPU and boot light, and then the bios showed up on the screen. Exited out powered off and tried again this time through the GPU, got lucky and got into the bios again, everything working properly gpu fans spinning, cpu running cool. I set the ram profile to the rated speed ( which was correctly recognized as well as being hynix) instead of the default 4800, and system shut down after saving the changes. Since then I tried 2 sticks, 1 stick, different placements, and I’m getting nothing back to being stuck on CPU and DRAM leds. So the good thing is I know the CPU and GPU arent totally DOA. But the fact that I did make it into the bios twice has me confused. Is it just false hope that the kit I want can work? Is there something else I can do? I will be trying again with different ram on the qvl soon, in the meantime though even if its a shot in the dark I want to see if someone recognizes the situation or knows what I can try. Thank you guys! parts list: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/N6rbTY

Hey guysI just bought a bunch of new components and couldn't get the build to power on. I put everything together and couldn't get anything to power on, the PSU wouldn't even turn on when connected to the motherboard but would power on with the paperclip test. I couldn't jump the motherboard, tried different ram seatings, 1 stick of ram in different seatings, checked GPU on my old motherboard and double-checked PSU at the same time, made sure fans weren't shorting the motherboard. The only things I couldn't check individually were the RAM and CPU as my previous board is an intel B360 Gaming Plus board and only supports up to 2666mhz. I've returned the board and their testing team has said they couldn't replicate the fault and that the board has no issues. The components I bought wereGigabyte X570 gaming + motherboardAMD ryzen 7 3800x CPU16gb DDR4 FlareX ram @ 3200mhzThe components I added wereCougar GX800 V3 800W 80+ gold PSURX Vega 64Do you guys have any idea what could be causing the issue? need help urgentlyThanks in advance Should add that the PSU and GPU are in the computer I'm using now and working perfectly

Build: 7950X3D, 4090, 360mm AIO and 3 case fans, sabrent rocket 4 plus, asus ROG x670e crosshair hero mobo Okay, I have expo one enabled and the PC boots and works perfectly fine, but I've had it do like a quick restart a couple times (no blue screen except like a flash of it one time). I ran Karhu and Prime95 both failed at the 45 minute mark. Prime95 says "Self-test 384K passed! FATAL ERROR: Rounding was 0.4999953054, expected less than 0.4 Hardware failure detected running 392K FFT size, consult stress.txt file." (Nothing but links to forums in stress.txt and i read changing CPU SOC could help, but didnt want to mess with it without proper advice. Also mentioned thermals but mine seem fine, but should I change the preapplied thermal paste on AIO anyway to be safe? I hope I didnt press down to hard or screw it in to far when installing it.). Ive messed with the DRAM Voltage a bit lowering my .005 and raising it, but it made it fail quicker. So I decided to post here. Is this a common issue? Is anyone else having this issue with this RAM? Could it be something else? Or is that sufficient evidence to say its the RAM since all my temperatures are fine? Should I ignore it since it ran all my games fine and wait for another BIOS update currently running 1415 (newest version) or wait for more new chipset drivers(currently running latest on chipset drivers too ? The only two times it shut off was randomly watching YouTube and it literally started right back up in the same spot on the website when I turned back on (nothing closed). Id hate to have to downclock it, but what do you all think? Thanks in advance. TTY soon PS. Im also currently running it still on as well. Is this something I should change asap because it could damage my CPU or system?

But Supplier contacted me today with the following: "We've been checking through the chosen components and have noticed that, even though RAM capable of up to a 6000MHz frequency has been added to this order, due to how new DDR5 still is, it is unfortunately a possibility that the system will not be able to reach a stable 6000MHz memory frequency as yet with 4 sticks. That is likely to change in the near future once newer BIOS updates are released to better support higher memory frequencies. Please let me know if you're happy for our team to clock the memory at its highest stable frequency, or if you'd like to downgrade the RAM to possibly make a saving on its cost." Does he know what he's talking about? What should I do? 7. RAM: Am I right in saying 2 x 32Gb is a better combination than 4 x 16Gb for this RAM, on this mobo, with this CPU? If not, then what? 8. Hello there, is one of those topics, I recently upgraded my system to DDR5 and passed my old ram to my gf computer ( 2x8gb G.skill Trident z 3200mhz) so her PC now has 4x8gb G.skill 3200mhz. For soooome weird reason with 4 sticks of rams CPU-Z shows incorrect speed. Its like runnign a 2133 mhz ram but why!!! I set the XMP Profile like 10 times trying to make it work, I even try forcing the ram speed to 3200mhz in BIOS but it said overclocking fail so I went back to the "auto" config. This happened before when I tried to mix different rams but I said f..... it and now with all 4 rams the same still doesnt show correctly :(. This does not happen when I have 2x8gb installed, it is making me go crazy. MOBO compatibility its ok from what I cheked (like 10 times). All rams are the same brand and same clock speed they are just from different dates I also went into BIOS to double check everything, all 4 rams say 2133, why!!!, the only thing that comes to mind is some trouble with the MOBO, maybe is 2 old. Checked the exact RAM sticks I got and see, that they are this type: F4-3200C16D-32GVK This type is not listed in the QVL What in the lords name can I do? heeelp meee I forgot this: The system was already running at 3200 MHz stable (I used it for a week), before I switched out my main boot drive. I have no idea why it stopped working and so I restored default values for the BIOS

Hello guys, just wanted to know if there's anyway to check what type of Die RAM chips use, BEFORE purchasing and checking with apps like Thaiphoon Burner? Was looking at this kit for my Ryzen 9 5900X: G.Skill Trident Z Neo DIMM kit 32GB, DDR4-3600, CL18-22-22-42 (F4-3600C18Q-32GTZN). I believe the chips in this kit are Samsung, just not sure if it's E or B-Die..

Hey y'all, I'm having a wee bit of trouble with my RAM at the moment. I bought it because it was rated at 3200MHz and it won't boot when I change it in the bios. I have successfully got it to boot in 3000MHz after I re-flashed the BIOS (Which did put a smile on my face), but when I attempt to boot into anything above 3000MHz it goes to the American Megatrends screen and my RAM is set back to 2133MHz. I know other people have asked the exact same question, but their solution doesn't exactly fix my issue. My specs are: Ryzen 5 3600 ASUS B450-PLUS MOBO G.Skill Trident Z RGB 2 x 8GB DDR4-3200MHz ASUS ROG STRIX GTX 1070 8GB Please help fix my issue!

ram RAM not running at full frequency
Mahmudul Hasan posted a topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
Hi, I have a G.Skil Trident Z 16GB single stick RAM running on my PC. It supports XMP profile. And it can boost upto 3200 Mhz. But I am getting only half of 3200 resulted in 1600 Mhz only. How can I unlock it 3200 mhz to run all the times on the PC? Thanks. -
Hi, I have been putting together a build since a week ago. Everything went well up to the first hour in Windows, although I must indicate that this only happened after I turned on DOCP in the bios (this after I installed all updates and then drivers). Since then I get BSODS or crash due to Memory_Management HARDWARE After reading dumps it was an A1 crash code each time with a different application. Bios update to the most recent version 3603> stock memory speed> seemed stable> DOCP turned on> crash again within 2 hours. Memtest86 ran> then immediately received the 25% error. Then 1 bench removed> after 3 hours memtest86 no error messages, nice PASS on the screen. restart to Windows and I get continuous crash> bios reset for safety and other memory slot (from A2 slot to B2 slot)> nada 2nd (presumably broken) memory bank put in A2 slot> no crash in the 6 hours I have no issues > Stock speeds memory and cpu The last thing I did was swap all modded cables for the stock powercables of the PSU for the GPU + Mobo, I will run memtest86 again in a minute. Do you have any advice or tips that I can try? Thanks alot in advance!

I had just moved and after starting my pc, I've not managed to get it to boot or POST. The errors read both CPU and DRAM, however I've taken both out and it still spits out the errors. Can I get any advice on what to do? Current Build: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/WRYzBc

Hello everyone. I've just built my first PC and I'm having strange issues with the RAM. The PC has an i7-11700 (non-K), Gigabyte Aorus Elite AX motherboard, and 32GB of G.Skill Trident Z Royal RAM (2x16GB). I have not been able to get the RAM working at XMP speeds. The G.Skill website's memory configurator says this RAM will work with my mobo. However, Gigabyte's QVL for RAM doesn't list my RAM. But it does list other G.Skill RAM with the same timings and sizes. I'm not sure if this is correct, but I've read that the RAM chips are likely the same if they're from the same chip brand with the same timings, just under different styles of heat spreaders and LEDs. Also, I have another similar set of RAM that doesn't work with XMP either. This other RAM is a bit slower and cheaper, and has different timings. All the RAM seems to work fine at native speeds of 2133MHz at 1.2 Volts. All my CPU stats are currently at stock settings. The RAM I wish to use is: G.Skill Trident Z Royal (2x16GB). The XMP Profile specs are DDR4-3600 CL16 memory, with timings 16-16-16-36 at 1.35 Volts. The native stats are 2133MHz at 1.2V. These are Samsung B-Dies. The other, cheaper RAM I've tried is also: G.Skill Trident Z Royal (2x16GB). The XMP Profile specs are DDR4-3600 CL19 memory, with timings 19-20-20-40 at 1.35 Volts. The native stats are 2133MHz at 1.2V. Here is a list of everything I've done so far: ● I have tried XMP profiles on the RAM. This almost always results in a boot/config error. This is when I leave all the settings on "Auto". ● I have left XMP disabled, and manually entered all the XMP values. I can get it to boot with this method, once I increase the voltage to 1.36V. ● I have done a CMOS reset just in case any incorrect settings were carried over from the cheaper RAM. ● I have tried XMP enabled at voltages 1.33V, 1.34V, 1.35V, 1.36V, 1.37V, 1.38V, 1.39V, and 1.40V. The only ones that have gotten anywhere are 1.36V and 1.37V. ● I have tried just one stick of RAM, with similar results. ● I have updated the BIOS on the motherboard to the latest version. The cheaper set of RAM I have behaves similarly. I have always used slots 2 and 4 on the mobo, as the instructions say. Another strange thing I've noticed is that when I get it to work by manually entering the XMP values and setting it at 1.36V, Windows Task Manager reports that it's operating at 3600MHz, but CPU-Z shows it's only at 1733MHz (3466MHz). Why would this happen when I set it to 3600MHz (1800MHz)? When it does manage to boot to Windows, everything seems stable, although I haven't run any extensive memory tests yet. Can anyone offer any tips on what else I can do to try to get this PC working as it theoretically should? I've spent a lot of time researching and tweaking things, and I've made some progress. But I feel I'm at a point where I need to reach out and ask people with much greater expertise than I possess. Thank you very much for any help in advance.

Hi i have an issue where When i turn on / Restart my pc it runs awesome i run a MaxxMem2 test and my results are 32000mbs Read , 38000mbs Write ,38000mbs Copy and around 52ms of Latency everything runs great! Although After i game for a couple hours or so and go to Test my Read speed on Maxxmem2 will drop to 24000mbs and games will not be as responsive but its always after gaming for a couple hours or so i don't have any other programs open than when i run the test before but it repeatedly drops and i cannot work out why . I have tried leaving it a while before running the test again to see if it was a heat issue but no difference it will stay slow until i restart the pc . It is only the Read speed affected Write, Copy & Latency stay the same . Can anybody help me with this ? My pc specs. Intel I7 7700k , Asus z270p , G.skill 32gb 3600mhz cl17 ram , Corsair 550w psu , Asus Tuf Rtx 3070 , Sabrent Rocket q 1 tb Win 10 pro Also everything is Updated through Windows and Snappy Driver installer my Bios is Fully updated to the latest Version and I have run Testmem5 without any Errors . I only have a picture of the test after restart because i forgot to screenshot before restarting. I appreciate any help thanks

Hello community, Im building a PC: ASUS ROG STRIX B450 F AMD Ryzen 9 5900x G.Skill TridentZ RGB(F4-3600C18D-32GTZR) Samsung 980 Pro 2TB NVME MSI GeForce RTX 3060 Ti Corsair RM1000x The build was flawless without any Problems, but when I try to boot there is no signal and the Yellow lamp on the Mainboard is on is that normal? Can someone try and help me find the Problem?

Did they work on featured frequency 3200/3600 mhz? I bought a single Tridentz stick couple of years ago and ordered new one today. Thing is my old one is Hynix made and new one is from Samsung. Speed, latency, voltage, everything is identical. So, what are my chances to get both of them to work together at 3200mMhz?

I have been waiting for the new "trident z royal elite" RAM series for months now and it was said offically that it would be avaliable globally in May. But now its 2 days away from June and no sign of this new product from retailers and reviews anywhere around the whole world. The only sign that I've seen online is that Linus posted a picture of this new product on their instagram but either did the post say anything about the release of this new product. I know some other people online who are also waiting for the avaliability for this product and have the same issue as me; the release for this product is "dead slient" Is this normal from G.Skill when they release a new product or is there something wrong from G.Skill themselves? Im new to buying new products from G.Skill and dont know how they release their products. Hoping someone familiar with new product release can help me out here........... Wondering if anyone has any insight to this. When I built my system earlier this year I decided to get 32 gigs of 3200 Trident royal Z ram from Microcenter, I installed it in my system just fine and have been fairly happy but decided I wanted an extra 32 gigs so I found what appeared to an exact copy of the ram I needed from Amazon, I verified the model number and the rest of the information "G.Skill 32GB DDR4 Trident Z Royal Silver 3200Mhz PC4-25600 CL16 1.35V Dual Channel Kit (2x16GB)" I installed it carefully but have been getting hangs and freezes. I used RAMMon and the ram appears to have different timings although they appear to be running at the same speed. Could this cause issues like freezing and hanging? I do have my processor overclocked/undervolted, but I don't think this could be the issue as I had it set like that before I added the additional ram, and I don't think I'm overheating... but it wouldn't be the first time I was wrong about something. Pictures at the link for reference. https://imgur.com/a/eNaNH5O Edit: Does the max transfer speed even matter if the infinity fabric is running slower (1600) than it's max speed? I'm a newb.

I am currently using a G.Skill Trident Z 16GB single stick RAM. I do have a spare RAM from Corsair Vengence LPX 8GB. Thinking of using this 8GB RAM with the 16GB single stick one.The cache latency is 16-18-18-36 on the Corsair Vengence LPX one. The cache latency on my running G.Skill stick is 16-18-18-38. The photo of the RAM information is attached herewith. Would the both RAM work on my PC well or any problem I might face if running both together? Any suggestion from the experts is welcomed.

Hy all. My build: MOBO:MSI X570 TOMAHAWK CPU:RYZEN 7 5800X RAM:G.SKILL TRIDENT Z 4133MHZ CL19 16GB SSD SAMSUNG 860 GPU: GTX 1060 (WAITING FOR UPGRADE) PSU:CORSAIR HX850 PLATINUM 850W CPU COOLER: BE QUIET DARK ROCK PRO 4 CASE: PHANTEKS P400S I begun with bios update to the latest one(bios flash back button).i assembeled cabel managed . Had to adjust bios settings to find not only uefi ssd s but csm also so i dont have to reinstall windows. I set to xmp1 and launched to windows. CPU idle is around 34-38celsius (ambient is 23)but for the smallest tasks it jumps up like to 50.(ryzen master temp read)while ingame for like 10minits temps are 60-70(Hw info read out) Prime95 on 16thread with max heat for maybe 2mins is throthling at 80celsius.with an agressive fancure 65celsius is 100% fan speed. Voltage jumping to 1.5V. Ram is on 2066mhz cpu-z thats ok but timing is wrong everything got +1.it should be cl19. But is is cl20 and so the other numbers.Need to check votage i forgot it. (Ram tuning is new for me) I would like to find some proper ram setting i cant figure what to change so i dont do any harm. Iam afraid of the temps on the cpu i upgraded from asus board i5 4690k all core oc 4.5ghz with 1.24V it was aircooled with thermaltake frio 2fans never got above 60celsius. When i figured out the ram problem and the heat on the cpu i will try some cinebench. But first could you suggest some places where i can find a good ram setting for dumies site or just something i can work with? Also if you know a good MSI bios setting or what to change so my core speed and voltages dont jump around. This is my 1msi board i like so far the asus more the bios was easy to overclock ,but the msi got those good vrm and it was cheaper too. I tried dram calculator ehh it wont work for me for now. I finished the build Yesterday like 11pm, so iam writing this from work if i get home i can put more data if you need something. So far if someone solved issues like this please feel free to post solutions. Thx .

Hi all, I'm building a new PC for Christmas, and honestly forgot to check about RAM compatibility before ordering my RAM chips from G.skill... I know, dumb me. What I've read, is that for just classical gaming, it doesn't really matter but I've also read that it might be unstable if it is not listed as QVL. I bought G.skill trident Z Royal 2x16GB 4000Mhz CL 19 - 19 - 19 - 39 wondering if it will work with my ASUS ROG STRIX X570-E Gaming AM4 MOBO and Ryzen 7 5800x I already bought them, so if it won't click, then might as well return it and buy different RAM chips. Thanks in advance for your answers! Merry xmas y'all
