A few weeks back I planned on opening my PC and cleaning the heat-sink and fans as the CPU cooler stock fan was running at 6000RPM and giving lot of noise. After the cleaning was done I applied new thermal paste and restarted my system but since that day on I am seeing random freezing/crashing/not responding issues with my Dota2. It is completely random as sometimes it will happen mid-game sometimes right after launch. Also when the game freezes just the video stops and the audio ( game sound, discord etc. ) will run fine. As I was using a small case I upgraded my Cabinet and added multiple fans for a good air flow. I am using Open Hardware Monitor to monitor the temps. The Motherboard shows 3 temperatures T1-40-45° C ; T2- 45-55° C ; T3-50-60° C. It would be good to know which part is T1,T2 and T3. CPU temp: 45-50° C. GPU Temp: 55-60° C. The case fans are at 1550-1600RPM. I've set my stock cooler to run above 90% ( 5000RPM+ ) using Speedfan while gaming. As far as the T3 stays below 60C everything is fine but as soon as it peaks over 61C even for a second my game will crash or freeze. I do not have any previous data at which my system was running before the upgrades as well as the cleaning. Could you please help me out with this. My system config: MB: GA 78LMT-USB3 rev6 Processor: FX 8350 with Stock cooler GPU: Nvidia GTX 770 PSU: Cooler master 550W. RAM: 2x 4GB DDR3. ( only 2 slots working ) Case: Gigabyte C200. Case fans: 1 exhaust at the rear (came with the case ) / 2 inlet in the front ( Arctic P14 PWM ) / 2 exhaust at the top ( Arctic P14 PWM ).

Hi, on my second PC I run with AMD FX-8350 125w TDP placed on Asrock 970 pro3 r2.0. Stock cooler was too loud so at first I replace it with some medium priced tower cooler. It was good for CPU and pretty quiet but I started having VRM temp issues. As I read later, my motherboard requires top flow CPU fan. I got myself BeQuiet Shadow Rock LP and here comes the problem, it's so wide that I can't fit exhaust fan to the back of the case and if I want to turn it 180 degree there will be no space for RAM sticks. Turning it 90 degree would be perfect but it's not possible due to mounting bracket shape. What other budget cooler can I use (already have BeQuiet SW3 120mm PWM high-speed to use on it) to make it top flow and have space for both RAM and exhaust fan.

Yep, It's 2020 not 2012, I know. I'm currently running an FX 8350 at stock with 16GB of DDR3-1600, paired with an RX 550. I've got a decent 80+ 500W EVGA PSU and waay more storage than most people with this hardware, in total 3.3TB of useable storage, most on spinning rust but I have a couple of SSDs in there. Basically, in what I think are GPU-bound titles, for example VALORANT and Overwatch (and maybe some Minecraft too), I'm wondering if I'll get much value out of a 5700XT right now, though I know I'll be very CPU bottlenecked. I am likely to upgrade to a 3600, maybe when b550 is out, but I only have the funds for the gpu OR the cpu at the moment, and as I'm playing mainly esports titles, I was thinking the gpu was a better option. Should I pull the trigger now, or wait until I can do a full system upgrade? I'm also wondering if I'll see similar improvements in FPS to yesterday's video, upgrading the Optiplex for VALORANT. I'm currently getting 70ish FPS, but with some interesting frame times.

I have been an owner of fx 8350 since 3 years,so I was wondering if it is still good enough for recent titles or is it time for an upgrade?

Hi guys im posting this because im planing on building a new entery level pc to keep up with with the next gen and I have become very confused about my choice of CPU. I am really struggling to decide between the following two CPUs, and when I look at benchmarks and system requirements of new pc games it makes the whole situation alot more confusing. 1.The Intel Pentium G4560 ----> Intel Kaby Lake Pentium G4560 3.5GHz or 2. AMD FX8350 ----> AMD FX8350 with AMD Wraith Cooler From the searching around that I have done the Intel Pentium G4560 seems to out preform the AMD FX 8350 in almost all games like in this example. ----> YouTube Benchmarking Video (There are many other examples of data like this such as CPU Boss ect...) With the video alone the answer seems very clear however, the reason I am so confused is that AMD FX 8350 is listed under the recomended hardware requirements of many new releases such as FarCry Primal and Battlefield1. However Intel's version of both the minimal and recomended hardware requirements are asking for something closer to an i5 or i7. ----> BattleField 1 Hardware Requirements Can Anyone please help me out with this. Can I really get away with buying a KabyLake Pentium CPU to run newer games? I am pairing it with a GeForce GTX 1050 OC 2GB and I don't plan on gameing in 4K or at Ultra Settings. P.s This is my first post on Linustechtips so I apologize for all the grama, spelling and formatting mistakes. Also the reason for so many links in this post is because uploading images keeps failing.

Good Day Currently i am playing Far Cry 4 again and i am noticing that the framerate isnt admireable. When the game is set to high i get around 40-50 fps but on ultra it sits at about 30-40fps and dips regularly under 30 i tried unparking the cpu and setting the priority of the process to high it just feels odd that my rig cant play far cry 4 smoothly i am noticing through after burner that the gpu isnt really doing anything and task manager tells me that far cry 4 is using around 45% cpu nvidia stuff is turned off and im not using any antialiasing Specs: CPU:8320@5ghz GPU:RX 480 strix variant 8GB 1600mhz ram Thanks in advance and i apologise for my english

Hey guys well i've been trying to overclock my cpu but i got kinda scared with my tests on prime95 got 65C on fx8350 4300mhz, once i tried to get it to 4400mhz after 5 minutes on prime my pc would freeze so i tried putting a little more voltage on it and the same thing would happen. Then testing it with aida64 i got 41C max aida64 benching for 10 minutes I want to know what benchmark gives me real results for every day use without crashing or freezing?(I plan on overclocking a bit more if possible)

Welcome to join my journey of trying to watercool a case that is not meant for ir - Fractal Design Core3000 rev1 (without them USB3.0 front ports) CAUTION! CAUTION! This build wont be for purists and aesthetics, it will consist of randomly chosen parts based on price/ease of aquiring. Plan of attack is do do a full watercooling of the CPU and VGA using 240mm + 360mm, using soft tubing and hand comp fittings. Main aim is for cooling performance not beauty, the case has no window and sits under my desk. Why im doing it? For a little bit more thermal headroom for cpu, since it can do 5Ghz on air, but the TDP is just far to big for and air cooler to handle it. And Im bored out of my mind while on my off-work season. Need to tinker with something. A shor list/specs of my rig: CPU:AMD FX-8350 MB:ASUS MA99FX PRO R2.0 RAM:16GB of Mixmatched set of low profile Kingston 1333Mhz 2x4GB sticks + Kingston hyperx 1600Mhz 2x4GB set GPU:Sapphire RX480 Nitro+ 8GB PSU:Antec HCG-750M 750W CASE:Fractal Design Core3000 rev1 STORAGE: 120GB kingston v300 SDD + Samsung Spinpoint F4 640GB HDD A list for W/C components: EKWB Supremacy-MX A chinsy aliexpress fullcover waterblock for RX480 (yeah thats the only way for a full cover block) Magicool Slim 240 rad Magicool Slim 360 rad Macicool DCP450 pump/res Not yet decided on fans completely but may be the following - Silverstone SST-FN123 - 120mm and Arctic AC F12 120mm Coollaboratory Blue coolant Barrow hand compression fittings for 10/13mm soft tubing. A little roadmap for myself: 1) Order components for W/C - started - completed 2) Recieve all the parts before building - waiting for parts has started - completed 3) Build that ting! sort of completed *will add some photos of current state of the rig later Tagline for this build - Function over form. Later!

Hi everybody, Looking to upgrade my graphics card, I have an R9 390 paired with an FX 8350 at the moment with a 850W Platinium PSU. Any advice on whether I should: (a) Sell the R9 390 and get a new card. (b) Get a second R9 390. (c) Get new CPU and wait for GPU upgrade. I have a Sabertooth 990fx R2.0 motherboard if that makes a difference.

Hello there, as mentioned in title I'm going to do a last upgrade of my machine. The point is that today I have AMD FX8350, 8GB RAM, GTX750Ti and a pretty old Cooler Master PSU 500W. As far as I understand FX8350 will not perform better with RX480 or GTX1070 or something better, anyway I have no budget for theese GPUs. I'm looking for a best GPU for Prey, I dont think it will be very demanding, but for sure I need a better graphics card. RX 480(4GB), GTX 970, GTX1060(3GB) seems have similar performance and similar prices, but I have noticed that RX 480 sufferes from micro lags so this is a main concern about it, GTX1060 has only 3GBs of RAM, and GTX 970 is old(kind of) and has 3,5GBs of RAM. Please help me pick one. that

I'm currently running an FX 8350 with 2 r9 290x. I use an H100i to cool the cpu to my temps are not an issue. I'm just unaware of what limit I should keep my voltage to when over clocking, and if there should be a max frequency I shouldn't pass.

Hi, Every time I play GTA 4 or GTA 5 the screen saver stops working. I'm running Windows 10 Pro. Hardware: FX8350 Running at around 4.1 GHz or so.. R290X GPU 16.11.3 Driver Corsair 1866 memory running XMP setting SABERTOOTH 990FX Rev. 1 Motherboard Corsair AX 850 PSU 840Pro SSD 256GB Boot 2x 3TB Toshiba HDDs Storage Creative Fatality sound card Pioneer Blue Ray Drive Ultra card reader that sucks & turns off times out during file transfer. Never buy another. I use my old Sony USB 2 one for SD cards. Don't know why this happens. Does anyone else have this issue. Screen Saver works after restart. Also does anyone know how to fix Runtime Error when XBOX One controller is plugged in and works fine.

Hello, I've built a couple of computers before but have an issue which is persistent. As you know FX8350's have 8 cores in total. One of my eight cores are failing as my computer will regularly blue screen with system thread exception not handled and a few other BSOD's. I have absolutely no idea what to do. https://valid.x86.fr/vlmxeh - The specs of my computer. If you require more info just let me know. Thanks in advance.

I recently downloaded HWMonitor, and noticed something somewhat odd about my CPU utilization. At idle, my utilization usually hovers anywhere from 5-10% for my FX 8350, but will spike up into the mid 20s seemingly at random. At one point, it even jumped to 35% utilization. I run multiple free malware scanners like Malwarebytes and 360 Total Secuity, as well as CCleaner fairly regularly, so I doubt I have any significant malware issues, so what could be causing this? The most intense background program I use are a handful of auto-game updaters and Wallpaper Engine. Granted, my system is nearly 4 years old, and I may have some crap running without realizing it. Do you guys think this would be causing me any significant performance loss while I am gaming or whatever? Are there any tips/software you guys would recommend to help me clean up my background programs, or should I just take it into a computer shop and have someone do it for me? I would do it myself using my task manager, if I actually knew what programs I wanted to keep.

Hello internet people!!! First post here on ltt. Soo currently I'm using a AMD FX-8350 and a GTX 660 on a Asus M5A88-V EVO and I'm thinking the graphics card is considerably less powerful than the cpu. I'm considering a GTX 1070 to replace my old gpu and I'm afraid it will be too powerful for my current cpu. Also my setup is running of a 500W power supply, will the 1070 run with no issues? Sorry for bad english. Thanks

So recently after moving I've been having an issue with my AMD FX8350 dropping clock speed down to 1400mhz from 4100mhz at the most random times. I've been monitoring my temperatures and nothing gets hotter than 62C and the only thing getting that warm is the VRM on my MSI 970 gaming mobo which has a common issue of getting kind of warm. The rest of the temps including my GFX card only stay around 40C, yet at random times the CPU drops the clock down to 1400mhz and stays there. The only thing that gets the clock speed back up is rebooting the system. No overclocking done at all, the BIOS is at default settings, and it didn't do this before I moved. I've replaced the thermal paste, gotten another fan on my Enermax CPU cooler and have a box fan in front of the PC pushing more air into the intake fans in the front, but nothing will stop this from happening. Any sort of tips on how I can get my CPU to stop dropping the clock when I'm in the middle of a game would be appreciated, or a program that will take over the CPU clock speeds and not allow it to drop down to such a low speed would also be nice.

Hello guys. I've been having an issue with my computer. My motherboard, the ASUS Crosshair V Formula-Z along with my FX8350 doesn't seem to boot, instead gives me the FF code and nothing happens. But the computer managed to boot when I pressed on the heatsink left of the CPU slot and reset the system at the same time. How can I make my PC boot normally? Thanks in advance.

Hi!I'm considering upgrading my CPU from FX-4300 to FX-8350. I've noticed that 4300 might be holding back my GPU a bit which is RX-470. My question is:• Will my motherboard (GA-78LMT-USB3 (rev. 5.0) support 8350? The only thing I know is that the socket (AM3+) is compatible.• Will my PSU (BeQuiet 500 W Straight 10) be able to support this system?Thank you in advance
