The AMA from a little while back didn't give us much information, so this might be our chance to learn more about Polaris and the Furyx2. I know I already posted a topic on this. That thread will be the one about the event, and I will make this one the one about all the info that comes out. Chances are we will get a ton of info from Capsaicin so I didn't want to throw all the info onto that thread since that would make it the biggest thread ever that will take forever to read, so instead I am making this one so you won't need to read as much. In case you don't know what I am talking about: Here's a little refresher: AMD is hosting an event they call "capsaicin" at GDC (Game Developer's Conference) Monday March 14, 2016 (today as of March 14) at 4:00 P.M. They have already teased that they will be showing off Polaris there, and we could glean some purty cool info about Polaris from this It is highly rumored that AMD will launch the FuryX2, especially since both the vive and rift went on preorder recently and AMD said they were lining up the launch with the launch of VR headsets I think that's it (correct me if wrong) Also there have some rumors flying around that they will call the FuryX2 the Radeon Duo Pro, though I would take it with a grain of salt As well, this is pretty recent, but: http://wccftech.com/amd-polaris-10-gpu-vr-demo-gdc-2016/ It seems they will be presenting Polaris 10 EDIT: Forgot to mention they will be demoing it with a SteamVR benchmark. If they are doing that, it sounds to me like it will be a VR Ready part, and we know that Polaris 11>Polaris 10 and Polaris 11 will be about a 232 mm2 part, so if you ask me that sounds like some pretty amazing hardware. Only time will tell. [LAST UPDATE: March 14, 2016@5:14P.M. Pacific Time]I will be posting everything we learn here: AMD launched the dual Fiji monster, and it's called the radeon pro duo, and costs 1500 dollars! It is water cooled with a 120mm rad. It has 3 8pin pcie connectors and has 16 teraflops of compute power. That GPU demoed at CES was Polaris 10. Polaris 10 and 11 will be launching this year, and Vega will be coming next year with HBM2. In 2018 we will be getting Navi It is not certain what memory Polaris will get, though amd seemed to be saying Vega will be the first with hbm2 so it might have ggdr5/x or hbm- Amd has said Navi will have "next gen memory"... Something even more revolutionary than HBM? Sounds interesting..... As well, they said it will have a extremely scalable architecture... Crap now I'm gonna be on the hook for another two years

Source: http://wccftech.com/amd-rtg-ama-3-march-polaris-fury-x2/ We've been seeing a lot of teases of the fury x2 recently, and there have been a couple spots of Polaris on Zauba as well as other places. Unfortunately, though, we haven't really gotten to learn much about Polaris and the furyx2. Well, tomorrow we may finally learn some more information about em. As you can see, tomorrow RTG will be hosting an AMA on Reddit, and will be answering (nearly) all of your dying questions about the Furyx2, Polaris, Dx12, VR, GPUOpen, and anything else you can think of related to GPUs. Unfortunately, they won't be talking about Zen, but that was probably expected since its RTG we're talking about, not the whole of AMD. Tomorrow could be the day we learn more about everything we already know about, and perhaps find out about a few new things. I hope this AMA will help us glean some more info about RTG's upcoming products and future plans. I will keep this thread updated with new info as it comes out . [UPDATING LIVE UPDATED] Last updated: March 3rd 5:00 p.m. Central Time Info we know: Polaris will have DP 1.3 Apparently Polaris will launch during "mid-year" It seems that AMD will publish a lot of info about Polaris before the launch AMD is looking into the one GPU per eye thing for VR AMD is making drivers for Linux True Audio is still used in the console space, but on desktop it's kinda dying There will be another AMA for Polaris once its details are all ready Polaris support h.265 decode and can decode up to 4k Polaris will only be 14nm Glofo Polaris is projected to have 2x performance per watt to "existing hardware" That's all for now folks! I'll keep updating it. Unfortunately, it doesn't look we'll learn too much about the Fury X2 or extreme details of Polaris. Unfortunately, guys, it doesn't seem like we got as much info as we wish we did. He did, however, mention that as we get closer to the Polaris release time he will do another AMA to clear up a bit on architectural details. That will probably be the time when we really learn something. I was excited for this, but it wasn't QUITE as good as I hoped for. Then again I was only hoping. Thanks guys!

This is the first real look we have seen at the Fury X2. Through the window we see a card that is obviously longer than any other Fiji GPU, but that's expected since it is a dual GPU, after all. I personally can't estimate the length just from the pic, but you guys can give your thoughts on this one. As well, on the end we see a fan that looks like one of those blower style fans. Most likely this is an intake fan to blow air through the card to cool the VRMs and such. It wouldn't make sense to be an air cooled car since the Fury X is watercooled and so far everything has been suggesting the fury x2 will be liquid cooled. Chances are an aio cools the two Gpus and the fan cools the VRMs. Gimme your thoughts on this! Hopefully this means the FuryX2 is getting releases soon. AMD has delayed it way too long, so much that it will launch around the same time as Polaris. [UPDATE] Roy Taylor has posted yet another picture! Here we seem to see a row of systems all (probably) with Fury X2s in them. AMD seems to be teasing the Fury X2 a lot recently. As well, he stated "shipping soon." Hopefully this means the FuryX2 will FINALLY be launching soon. It was way delayed and is long overdue.

AMD's Scott Wasson has just tweeted an image of two Fiji GPUs. This is extremely similar to what AMD did last time with the 295x2. They also seem to have sent a lot of stuff about #2BETTERTHAN1, which is definitely pointing towards a dual-GPU. Perhaps the Furyx2 will be launching soon. Perhaps the Furyx2 will be coming within the next month.
