I've posted this on reddit a couple times, but I don't get any help over it on there, I really need some help with this. Recently I've started to see a problem with my games and that is the frame times spiking exactly every second. It wasn't a problem before, it just started happening out of nowhere. I've noticed that every time it happens my wattage also jumps up and down, going from 50 to 100+ then back down or 70 - 100+ then back down. I've stress tested my GPU on furmark, and everything seems fine, no artifacts, still even during the furmark test, this was happening. I get 60fps in most games I play, but have this frame time problem at the same time When I lock to 30 it works fine. Recently lighting struck near my house and two of my WiFi routers got fried, ever since then, when I boot up a really intensive game, my pc just crashes, no display, nothing, just the GPU fans going crazy. What's giving out? Is it my PSU? My GPU? Or my motherboard? My specs: MSI twin frozr Rx 480 4gb Intel core i5 6400 Biostar Z270GTN 12 GB ADATA Ram (4+8) Thunder TGS - 550G (I've heard it's some local shady power supply with false advertising, I was on a budget at the time, so the computer store guy hooked me up with this)

Hey, so recently i factory reseted my pc, and after i did this my 3D gpu is at 90% and above. This makes it impossible for me to share my screen on discord and play with good frames. I didnt have these problems before i factory reseted and i have no clue what to do. I read somewhere that overclocking or turning xmp on could solve it but i dont want to do it before i know its safe. Thanks for the help in advance:D My specs are: 1050 ti i5-8400 24gb ram

Gpu memory drops from 7000MHz to 810 and Gpu power drops to 30-40Watts from over 100 any time i play games and it cause my frames to drop from about 200+fps to 30fps and Gpu temp is 75-80 degrees. Games are Apex legends, fifa 22 and Gta V Laptop Specs: RTX 2070 super 16GB ram i7-10th gen 300Hz

My pc has been acting extremely weird lately. I've had it for a little bit for under a year now with no issues. However, in the past week things have started to go down. I struggle to get above 80 fps in warzone, over 200 in valorant, and over 130 in csgo. I know that this couldn't have been the case from the start, as I used to get near 300 fps in csgo, 300 in valorant, and 120 fps in warzone. My thermals dont seem to be the issue, as they are staying below 60 degrees, and I havent made any hardware changes to my rig. Does anybody know a fix for the frames I am getting? here are my specs CPU : Ryzen 2700x Cooler: AMD Wraith Prism Ram: 2x8 3200mhz Corsair Vengeance SSD: Teamgroup NVME 1tb, Teamgroup nvme 256 gb GPU: GIGABYTE 1660 Super 6gb GDDR6 MOBO : ASRock B450 Steel Legend ATX Power Supply : Evga 500w 80+ bronze Case: NZXT H510 help would be appreciated

OK, so my monitor was set at 1080p (which is actually a 1440p monitor) and I noticed it was sitting at 1080p when I was messing with display settings for some reason, I forgot why, but when I switched it to 1440p, gaming has now become an issue. I decided to play some BeamNG and it's actually going anywhere from 80FPS-134FPS (which my monitor is a 144Hz). I have an RTX 3070 Gaming OC by Gigabyte. I noticed my memory is staying 7000 which I have not touched in MSI Afterburner. My system also is running an i7-10700kf. My game is running on the high settings and I am playing in the mud pit on american roads (8GB Memory map). I have G-Sync and ELMB on at the same time and my monitor is the Asus VG27AQ (that's why I can do that). I only have opera GX, spotify, discord, steam, and msi afterburner in the background. The GPU is never hitting 100%, the only time it does is when it's still on the gameplay. My memory is overclocked to 3600MHz CL17 (Viper Steel) with a stock cpu clock speed. Does anyone know what is going on?

I dont know if its my drives aging that's causing this or if its a cooling issue eitherway i wanna find out whats the problem my gpu reaches 83c during gaming which is a bit high but hasn't caused any issues from what i know, but bcs of this i cant overclock unfortunately can any1 tell what the issue could be i7 9700 rtx 2060 Super 16gb 2666mhz (dual channel) z390-pro Kingston 240 gb sata ssd WDC 1tb hdd

Recently got a gpu and can't figure out why I can't get any higher than 59 FPS. I've seen a rx580 get 80 fps. I'm new to building a pc so I'm stumped on how to get more fps. Do I need to overclock? I have 3070 and i7 7700k, running at 1440p. When Im at outdoors, my frames dipped to 40ish especially in the city. When I try running MSI afterburner, I found out my gpu only utilize at 50% while my cpu utilize at full load. Anyone can shed some light? I believe my setup supposed to be able to run this game at higher frames according to most people with this setup. You can see the numbers at the top left picture attached.

Hey yall I have a quick question! Lately I have been experiencing low fps in warzone around 50-80ish while the multilayer runs at around 120-144 fps! I wanted to ask if something is wrong with my rig as I think my cpu is the problem. Sadly I'm not such a tech savvy guy and don't know if that's the case. Rtx 2060 Asus dual I7 4790 Asrock B85M Dash/ol 16gb ddr3 ram 2tb hdd 1t ssd Evga supernova g2 550w I've tried alot such as removing useless programs, closing all background applications, checking temps (gpu maxes at 63 and doesn't go higher) etc.... Like I said I feel like it might be the cpu but why do the frames only go down in warzone and not mp I really would love some help please. (all settings are set to low ingame!)

Im (eventually) going to get a 3090 or 3080ti i play both single player and multiplayer games and because of that I would like to focus on visuals (4k 60 plus frames with rt on) during non completive and on competitive (1440p 144hz). So you can lower the resolution but as someone who has only used a 1080 p monitor whenever i lowered it to like 1600 it looked like crap. So is what im thinking possible and would it look bad on a 4k montior?

Hello, I recently upgraded to a Rtx 3060ti, but when playing some games it seems that my frames/ frame-times are not very stable compared to benchmarks ive seen. Games such as black ops cold war will experience 10-25 frame drops, and when looking around I can see the stutter the most. Comparing to the 3060ti benchmarks the frames look much more stable than what im getting. Ive updated all my drivers and i havent seen any change. Could this problem be due to my cpu/ ram bottleneck? also i am running nvidia adaptive sync on my monitor. SPECS: Cpu: i5 8400 GPU: Rtx 3060ti Ram: 2x8gb 2133 mhz Ssd: crucial 1tb ssd Mobo: h310m Monitor: pixio px227 prime 1440p thanks.

Hey guys how’s it going? I recently upgraded to a 10600k . It seems pretty good I’m definitely getting at least 20 to 30 frames more endgame on average give or take the game . In dota 2 I went up 80-100 frames to lol. The main issue I see now is that when I’m playing games I run the MSI afterburner at least since I just got it to kind of see things in my CPU usage never really goes above 30-40% . So couldn’t I be getting more frames if it used more of my CPU?? I have 16 gigs of DDR4 ram at 3200 MHZ. 1080 rog strix 8gb. My GP was always at 90 some percent . Except for some games only at like 80% so it’s definitely using more of that . I just feel I’m wasting frames somewhere I thought I would ask the experts thanks in advance

Hello everyone:) First of all, please excuse me, if my grammar is not the yellow from the egg, english is not my native language:D Specs of my system: Ryzen 5 3600X no OC ASUS ROG Strix RTX 3080 10GB no OC 16GB DDR4 3200Mhz RAM MSI X-570 A-Pro MB Latest Drivers for GPU and Chipset and here's a userbenchmark score: UserBenchmarks: Game 192%, Desk 96%, Work 182% CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600X - 91.5% GPU: Nvidia RTX 3080 - 213.9% SSD: Samsung 850 Evo 120GB - 79.2% SSD: Samsung 850 Evo 500GB - 116.1% SSD: Samsung 980 NVMe PCIe M.2 1TB - 243.2% HDD: Seagate ST1000LM035-1RK172 1TB - 69.6% RAM: Kingston HyperX DDR4 3200 C16 2x8GB - 87.4% MBD: MSI X570-A PRO (MS-7C37) I believe it's since i upgraded my system from a 2060 to an ASUS Strix 3080 i get consistent frame drops in every game that i play in fullscreen every 7 seconds. and when i say every 7 second i mean i can literally count to seven and it will drop...that can't be normal. I'm going to upload a screenshot from AC Valhalla, that pretty much shows my drops in that little graph. I get those drops in every game, if it's Cyberpunk or Superhot, so it can't be graphics alone. As soon as i set every game to windowed borderless mode, the drops are completely gone but not every game has that option for example AC Black Flag. I tried troubleshooting the problem several times, heres a list what i tried so far. Disable Windows Fullscreen Optimization Changed windows high DPI Settings Disabled all the Windows gaming functions Closed MSI Afterburner and Riva Tuner in the Background Tweaked a few settings in the Nvidia Control Panel like threaded optimization and tripple buffering Set the refresh rate from my Monitor to 60Hz Enable/disable V-Sync in game and in the Control Panel I probably tried even more, but i lost track.... I ran out of ideas where this problem might be coming from and before i reset my system i wanted to ask you guys. Just tell me if i forgot to mention something.

Hey I'm wondering whether my CPU is limiting my GPU or at least my fps, my CPU is a Ryzen 7 3800X and my GPU is MSI GeForce RTX 3060 GAMING X TRIO 12G, which is a really powerful GPU so it shocks me that in games like GTA V my 99% fps is 43 and it's really noticeable. I am honestly not quite sure what this is, It happens on odd times when I don’t usually start my pc for a bit. When it does happen, I am still in control of everything on the computer apart from the fact it looks like this and it’s quite a lot slower causing me to restart until it’s normal. my pc runs phenomenally usually this is my only problem i must say that my gpu is connected through a extension/riser cable to my motherboard because my setup is a desk pc. not sure if that would be an issue. specs incase it helps msi radeon rx570 oc gc i7-9700k cpu b360m-pro vh mb ssd 500gb / hdd 1tb 16gb ram etc lol thank you for reading if you have, just a concern of mine and would like to get some help FullSizeRender.mov

Like the title, my game is getting around 60 FPS and doesn't seem to want to utilize more than 50% of the GPU. For some context, this was an all of a sudden change. I generally get between 120 and 160 at 1440p. I have DDU and freshly installed the GPU drivers, reinstalled the game, made the "recommended changes" to the option.3 config file, ran a RAM diagnostic (no errors). Nothing has worked. Other games work flawlessly, but for some reason Warzone 2.0 decided one day to just say no. Specs: 5950x 3080 TI 1000W Corsair PSU 64GB 3600Mhz RAM Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, I am at a loss.

Recently I encountered a problem, whenever i play a game, no matter what game it is my CPU consumption in task manager is 100% . This issue has occurred before, but at that time i used system restore, It fixed but now i don't have any restore point when i checked and i am unable to play games due to this as my frames keep dropping frequently. I have gtx 1050 with 8 GB RAM and intel i5 8300H.

Can anyone please help me. I have spent a large amount of money and time on this PC and I am still getting frame skips on every game I play, regardless of settings. My specs CPU: Ryzen 7 3700x at stock speeds MBD: Asus Prime X570P - latest BIOS GPU: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER Gaming OC (Triple fan version) at stock speeds - latest NVIDIA Drivers PSU: Corsair TX650M 650W 80 Plus Gold RAM: Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 3600 C18 AMD Optimized Memory - running at 3600MHz through DOCP M.2: Sabrent M.2 NVMe 512GB SSD (SB-ROCKET-512) CASE: Corsair Carbide 275R Games tested: CSGO Rocket League Rainbow Six Siege Civilisation 5 (although this game is a mess usually anyway - thought I would throw in a CPU intensive one) My problem is this: I get a stutter in games, regardless of what framerate I am at and regardless of what settings I am using. These stutters can also be seen in RivaTuner Statistics Server as downward lines on the framerate/frametime graphs. They can occur randomly but particularly occur when I bring up a type of menu (e.g. scoreboard, quick chats, settigns menu, etc), or when something happens in game (e.g. goal scored in rocket league, bomb goes off in CSGO). The ones that occur randomly, mid game, when seemingly nothing new is happening are the most annoying. I would say the menu/something happening in game ones happen every third time one of these actions take place, and the random ones take place anywhere from every minute to every 30 secs. Things that I have checked: Temps are fine (CPU, GPU and VRAM never go above 60C even at full, sustained load) - checked HWiNFO, ASUS BIOS, MSI Afterburner. GPU, CPU, RAM and SSD are all securely in place in the MBD. CPU, GPU, RAM and SSD usage are all normal when gaming (i.e. not maxed out). Nothing obvious is happening in Hardware Monitor/Task manager when the stutters occur. Things that I have tried (to no avail): Different monitors (Old Samsung 1080p at 60Hz; BenQ PD2700Q professional colour grading monitor 1440p at 60Hz; LG 24GL600F gaming monitor 1080p at 144Hz G-SYNC compatible). Disabled unnecessary settings on monitor (e.g. black adjust, power saving, auto brightness, etc) HDMI vs Display Port V-SYNC On/Off on all monitors (in game and using NVIDIA control panel), NVIDIA Fast Sync On/Off on all monitors, G-SYNC On/Off on LG Monitor. Setting FPS limiter at various levels with RIvaTuner, as well as in-application on CSGO and Rocket League. Disabling/uninstalling unnecessary applications and processes (e.g. ASUS BIOS bloatware, Synology apps, Adobe Apps, Xbox Game Bar (including gamebarpresence.exe, RGB controllers, etc), Google Chrome) MSI Afterburner + RivaTuner (On/Off) DOCP RAM overclock (On/Off) (3600vs2666MHz, timings auto change as well). Tried multiple versions of both ASUS BIOS and NVIDIA Drivers (both game ready and studio). Loaded games onto an external SSD to see if M.2 was the issue. Multiple versions of Windows tested. High Performance Power plan in control panel. This PC should be more than capable of playing these games without stutters, my 8 year old PC can do this! Due to the current global situation I have spent a large proportion of my time trying to fix this and I am becoming increasingly frustrated and upset (as it feels like I've wasted a lot of money). Due to all the software things I have tried I am starting to think it must be hardware related. Unfortunately I sold all my other PC parts in order to pay for this new PC so I cannot swap them out to isolate the issue. I can't just send the PC back for repair as I shopped around for components (from multiple manufacturers and retailers) and without being able to isolate the specific component It is unlikely that I can claim on any of their warranties. I would be hugely grateful to anyone who could help me work out which piece of hardware it is (or suggest a software fix which I haven't tried already), as I have no qualms about sending it off for warranty repair/replacement (even if it takes a long time - it will provide me with great comfort just to know what the issue is). Thank you very much.

Hi everyone, Pardon me being a computer building noob, but my friend helped me pick out the parts for a new PC last week. We put it together, and I'm getting some really low FPS on this new rig as compared to my 2010 machine that we had been upgrading over time. I'm using the same graphics card I had on the previous, so I doubt that is the cause, but where I used to get 40-60 FPS in GTA5, I'm now staying at a fairly stable 30 FPS. This seems to also translate to a few other games, but I haven't tested them all yet. This low FPS doesn't seem like a big win in my favor as I had a pretty decent machine. Kinda feels like I spent $1500~ for nothing. I'd love to hear any thoughts you might have as to the cause. Is it likely the CPU or do you think there could be another factor in this build? Am I better off returning the CPU for an Intel as Ryzen may not be optimized w/ certain games? CORSAIR CXM series CX750M 750W GIGABYTE AORUS GA-AX370-Gaming K7 AMD Ryzen 7 1700X Processor Corsair Force MP500 Series M.2 SSD 240GB Internal Drive Seagate 4TB Enterprise Capacity Sapphire 11244-01-20G Radeon NITRO R9 390 8GB *I can list other relevant rig pieces upon request (Water cooler, etc, etc) Thank you!

I recently upgraded my graphics card. I can now play games on the highest settings with 90-160 fps. But i keep getting these quarter of a second freezes about every two seconds. The frames don't drop when this happens and this occurs even if i lower the settings to the lowest of the low. How do i stop this?

Okay, So I have had my PC for about 3 months now. When I bought it off of craigslist, it came with: Fx 8320 8-Core 3.5ghz GTX 750 1GB 16 GB DDR3 1600mhz MSI 970 Mobo Hitachi HDD 500gb 1200w PSU I bought a brand new western digital black 1tb HDD. I installed windows 10 64-bit onto it and dowloaded a few games. I want to play GTA 5 online but I averaged about 20ish frames with the GTX 750. (All drivers have been updated) I bought a new graphics card to see if I could get better frames on the game. (PowerColor R9 380x 4GB) My current harware lists as this Fx 8320 8-Core 3.8ghz (Overclocked to see if that would help) R9 380x 4gb 16 GB DDR3 1600mhz MSI 970 Mobo Western Digital Black 1tb (Brand new) 1200w PSU That STILL didn't help the issue. I did a fresh install of windows, downloaded nothing but steam, GTA 5, and the AMD drivers and still I only got 20-25 Frames. Afterwards, I installed Minecraft to see how well that would run and I averaged about 50-60 frames. (My last PC with a R5 230 ran about 70 fps) Is there anyone who has any ideas about why my computer is running games like crap? Thanks! -Danny

Alright so this is in part because I'm looking to upgrade my display but I'm also curious what people think on the topic. For gamers who play faster moving games like many shooters, I hear people emphasize having higher Hz like at 144 Hz if you can get it. Then there's 4k and up on resolution giving a sharper, more realistic image. Granted, you can get a monitor that combines good refresh rates with high resolution. However, what I want to know: Which would you emphasize over the other and why? Would you emphasize that 4k+ resolution or would you emphasize that high Hz in your monitor choice?

Hi, I guess. After much profanity I think I've done the only sensible thing and turned this to an audience with greater computer knowledge. As long as I can remember I've had this issue, but only recently after tweaking with my gpu settings (VIA MSI AFTERBURNER & EVGAPRECISION X OC) it has started concern me. As the graphs show in the linked image I'm having a throtteling issue. I can't see why this would occur and decided that I'll try and fix it once and for all. I've tried swapping around fans to acouple of different positions with no luck.
