Hey so my screen is choppy, im 100% certain its not a monitor issue, i tested 3 monitors on the same pc and all of them had the same problem and all of them different refresh rate testing, on a different pc which is worse this issue didnt happen. So basically it looks like the frames are choppy and on the online ufo test the ufo is like glitching back and forth and so does the background. It happens on every refresh rate, every speed of the ufo test, yes my bios is updated and yes i tried freesync and vsync. My nvidia drivers are the new ones. I tried older ones, i tried ddu, i tried unplugging gpu and plugging back in, i tried different gpu ports, i reinstalled windows and i downloaded a program and saw my gpu frame time is jumping between 6 and 200ms Specs: R5 7600, RTX 4070 I just tried my old pc it was completely fine and that pc is so much worse aswell. The nvidia driver update was the same on both pcs. This issue happens in games aswell but gets fixed a bit when i have other games in the background for some reason, and also gets fixed when i limit the fps in that game to 360, if i the fps on even 280 it lags like crazy. Even on a 144hz monitor 240fps is laggy and 360 is ok. Thank you everyone for helping. I already made a redit post on this but i added a few details here, thanks everyone for the help. hey everyone i was hoping to get some help about my stuttering problem that I had since I got my new pc. so basically my problem is that i sometimes have awkward frame time spikes which seem to cause the stuttering. Ive tried reinstalling windows many many times and that did nothing. drivers are all up to date and freesync is also turned on. i also get some brightness flickering but i dont think that has anything to do with that. help would be appreciated! specs: gpu: radeon rx 5600XT mech oc edition cpu: r5 3600 ram: corsair 16gb 3200mhz motherboard: msi b450 tomahwak max monitor: msi mag271cqr 144hz freesync range 48-144hz

I want to know how does YouTubers get their 0.1% and 1% Lows I tried MSI AfterBurner with RTSS but all I can get are the Max, Mins and Averages it does show real time Frame times in numbers and in a graph but how do I save and export it what software or tool should I use or if what I mentioned above is the correct choice how do I do it I Have been Googling for the past 2 days and I didn't find anything useful

I know, a single high end graphics card, such as the 1080 ti is already pretty good. But I was just wondering do you think putting multiple 1080 ti's is a good idea for maximum graphiics? a single 1080 ti can't run all games maxed out at 144 FPS, specially at 2K resolutions or higher. I wonder if there will be a lot of stuttering, Ik that depends on the game but what is your experience and do you think stuttering will get worse as you add more cards?

Hello, for about two weeks or so I've had an issue where I will get lag spikes in any game I play, causing a small stutter. The FPS will be constant usually and then drop for about a second and then shoot back up to where it was before. Each time the FPS drops, the frame time will jump from about 16ms to maybe around 60ms and frequently over 100ms. The amount of FPS it drops is usually just a few frames, say from 60fps to 55fps but the jolt back and forth make it hard to play. I started using MSI Afterburner logs to monitor the fluctuation of framerate, frametime and other stats that are available, but I don't really know what I'm looking for, so if there was something out of the ordinary, I may not realize it. Steps I've tried: Reseating the GPU Trying a new HDMI cable Using DDU and reverting to drivers from January before it started happening Tried testing games on both my SSD and HDD (issue persists on both) Created a custom profile in Nvidia control panel setting "power management mode" to "prefer maximum performance" as well as set "threaded optimization" and "triple buffering" both to off I've gone to system configuration and services to limit the services that are active, only allowing the microsoft services as well as nvidia and steam Tried turning off/on v-sync and limiting FPS with nvidia control panel Checked for system restore points but I didn't have any because I never set it up after I built the pc in late December Reinstalled Windows Ran a memory diagnostic Ran Memtest86 Swapped off of power saving mode Disabled/Enabled Intel Turbo boost Swapped on/off XMP profile in bios Updated motherboard BIOS to F6 from 3/1/18 Updated motherboard chipset drivers Tried high performance vs balanced mode for power settings Tried one RAM stick at a time Tried dimm slots 2 and 4 instead of 1 and 3 Disabled xbox game dvr Tried a second PSU Reseated the CPU Tried a second GPU Tried a second monitor I usually play Rocket League so it happens there the most but it's also happening in Vermintide 2, Heroes of the Storm, Enter the Gungeon, FTL and Into the Breach. I haven't tried any other games but it's happened on every game I've tested. I have a 20 second Youtube video showing the stuttering that I recorded with Geforce Experience. MSI Afterburner stats are at the top left where you can see the FPS drops as well as the CPU/GPU stats. I'm currently on driver 390.77 and the Windows version is 1709 (OS Build 16299.309). TL;DR: Does anyone know (without a lot of speculation) why 30 FPS seems worse on PC than on console? If so, any ideas on how to improve the situation? I mainly play games on PC, and sometimes I play on my TV over HDMI with a controller. I have noticed for a long time that 30 FPS feels noticeably less smooth when running on my PC than a console and this is using the same TV for both. It's not that my card can't handle the game or something. I notice it in games with lame PC ports that are locked to 30 FPS, or if I lock vsync to 30 FPS (I did that when testing this). It's like there is tons of microstuttering or frame lag or something on PC. It could be poor frame limiting implementations or something, but I don't know. I wonder if anyone actually knows this. When I make a new build for 4K it probably won't be worth it to me if lower FPS is going to stutter like it does now. I'll just wait until I can get something that will be 60 FPS+ solid if that's the case.

On the one hand I think this topic is getting way too big but on the other hand I myself am very much concerned about this. So I'm really glad this great german tech-news site has made an article about the gtx 970 memory problem and actually shows video footage of the same game being run by a 970 and a 980 side by side in a very high memory usage situation. The two mayor problems right now are: 1. nvidia didn't tell us the real specs which is really bad or not so much depending on your view. 2. the card might not be as "futureproof" or as suitable for sli 4k as many people thought. But still its a great card. Right now i think it's a great situation for AMD and with their release (or even before) I think it's quite possible to see a proce drop for the 970. I installed bf4 today cause I haven't really been using my 7870 crossfire setup at all. After 3sec of playing. I noticed frame stuttering, not lag as I am getting an avg fps of 60-100. And I thought it was the crossfire setup so I disabled it with a restart and it still stutters. I then ran it in 32 bit and it was smooth however enabling crossfire didn't utilize my second gpu at all so I was stuck at 55fps max. I did do a repair hoping for once it will fix it, and I reinstalled my amd drivers. I used every preset graphic settings and all gave the same problem. The api is set to Mantle and tried Direct 11 but caused both my GPU to be clocked to 300mhz. Any thoughts why it stutters only in x64 with and without crossfire even on the lowest settings? Could run it in x86 but kinda stupid when it doesn't use my second gpu... Running catalyst 14.4. Tried older rev but they did not include an api option causing me to default to direct 3d resulting in extremely low frames with idle GPUS. I do have other games with only direct 3d and works fine. Before they released this option, it worked fine on direct 3d.
