  1. My First Gaming PC

Hello, I'm going to build my first pc. I'm not sure if all the parts will fit, if there are things that I can improve, ... Could you help me? Vince Edit: My budget is around €1350 -€1450 ($1650 - $1775) (monitor included) ------------------ Game PC.xlsx
  2. What should be the first mod I do to my E30 case? (not removing handle as this is a Lan party pc)
  3. My budget is mostly under 900$ and I'm in the USA. I basically just need advice on the RAM, the PSU, Case, and the GPU. This build is for 1080p gaming with a balance of high settings that stay in constant 60fps in all games. I plan on using 1 monitor for this. I'm upgrading to this build because I currently can't play games on my gaming laptop as I hoped, and is not working correctly in the 1 year I've had it. I feel like it's time for me to finally build my own system. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/GM8Z4C Can a Ryzen 5 1600 CPU still run games well on 8GBs? If so, what 3200Mhz 8GB stick is there? I chose to go with the 1060 3gb because the 6gb has gotten a spike in price, so I'm hoping by the time I actually buy the stuff the 6gb version gets cheaper. For the case, does anyone know if it has good space for cable management and easy access when building the system? And lastly, is that a good PSU? Should I change it to bronze and semi-modular to make it cheaper? Thank you!
  4. First ever PC build.

Hey all, So im currently buying all my parts, week by week. I have my MSI R7 250 here and im currently waiting on my Gigabyte GA-AB350 Gaming mobo and my CoolerMaster MasterBox Lite 5 (I know, crappy airflow, but after watching Luke's videos where he shoved a fucking wardrobe and some boxes into the build and seen virtually NO change in thermals, im not too worried about these components.) but im having some real difficulty deciding on a PSU and the RAM i want to use. I plan on using a Ryzen 5 1600 for this build and before anyone has a go at me for the crappy specs im picking, this build is specifically for streaming my PS4 gameplay with OBS and an Elgato, so while i would like to put more money into other aspects of the build, i need at least some money for the nessacary peripherals such as a mic, mic stand and a webcam (oh, and that elgato i mentioned). Everything else is taken care of but i really dont know what to do with a power supply i just about know the difference between modular and non-modular and all that jazz so if anyone has any useful information on what i should get, please please please inform me because next weeks shopping list is supposed to include the PSU the RAM and maybe a better CPU cooler than the included Wraith with my CPU if thats even necessary, as i wont really be OC'ing this baby..
  5. Hi, I'm building my first ever pc. 8. Is this a good build

This is my build in a high end budget: Can improvements be made without blowing the bank? Have i made it so that this setup is trash? https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/user/SpiritOfTheGods/saved/#view=K6B4CJ please tell me
  9. Hey, after a while from using the Dell Inspiron 3650 with an i7 Quad Core and 2gb AMD card. This Dell PC is serving me well and I will continue to use it when I make more money. I'm ready to start planning to upgrade. I use my machine all day every day from video editing to photo rendering and to moderate gaming such as Minecraft and game engines. Most of my programs include FLStudio, Adobe Creative Suites(AllPrograms, PS, PR, AE). Currently, I'm living in East, Texas USA. Right now I'm going for an AMD build as my programs are dependent are CPU cores. Here is my full list of parts including a case: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/DrBaja/saved/Lcm3FT Budget: $1400 Total: $1280 I purposely bought an expensive power supply to ensure quality and allow additions such as Crossfire and more ram. Opinions much appreciated!
  10. Hello guys, I'm building my first desktop pc and need suggestions. Small form factor, i5 8600k cpu and gtx 1060 6gb gpu are of the choices I've made. The rest are on this part list with a small explanation in why I'm picking each part. https://pcpartpicker.com/user/maragkosd/saved/6wVCyc Before I go on and buy it I'd to know if you think everthing is fine or if you have any suggestions on something I could change on the list. I don't want to go over 1500€ and I want generally strong computer not only on games. I'm open on discussion. Thanks in advance!
  11. Alright, so here is my first ever build. Pretty much what iv decided on. Open to thoughts, opinions, advice etc. Please note the CPU & Motherboard, as well as case and RAM, are pretty much set in stone. The rest is subject to change and i had a few specific questions#1. Should I get an ASUS Geforce GTX STRIX 1050 ti or an ASUS Dual GeForce GTX 1050 ti? Whats the verdict?#2. Is my CPU cooler alright? Do you recommend something better? I'm looking for something RGB But cheap and efficient. hoping to use the saved money here on other components#3. Is my PSU alright? Recommend me a better one if you think it fits, but keep in mind I am planning to upgrade my GPU at some point (to probably a 1070 ti or 1080 ti) as well as buy more ram and possibly a 1tb SATA 3 SSD to replace the 1tb HDDOkay, Here we go with the components : Component Selection Base Promo Shipping Tax Price Where CPU Intel - Core i7-7700K 4.2GHz Quad-Core Processor $287.89 $287.89 Amazon Buy CPU Cooler CRYORIG - H7 Quad Lumi 49.0 CFM CPU Cooler $54.85 $54.85 OutletPC Buy Motherboard MSI - Z270 GAMING M5 ATX LGA1151 Motherboard $189.99 -$40.00 $1.99 $151.98 Newegg Buy $40.00 mail-in rebate Memory G.Skill - Trident Z RGB 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3200 Memory $229.99 FREE $229.99 Newegg Buy Add Additional Memory Storage Samsung - 960 EVO 250GB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive $127.89 $127.89 OutletPC Buy Toshiba - P300 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive $39.88 FREE $39.88 Other World Computing Buy Add Additional Storage Video Card Asus - GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB Dual Video Card $229.99 $229.99 Amazon Buy Case Thermaltake - Versa N21 Snow ATX Mid Tower Case $52.89 $52.89 OutletPC Buy Power Supply EVGA - SuperNOVA G3 650W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply $84.99 $4.99 $89.98 Newegg Buy P.S : Ignore Prices, i will not be buying from PC PartPicker and i will be getting much better deals elsewhere so prices of like the GPU and PSU listed above are irrelevant. CPU/MOBO/Case already bought, and much cheap than listen price. Just letting you know incase listed prices affect build judgement as i saw some were way higher Also keep in mind the white/blue/black theme im kinda going for. mainly just white/clearish and blue. so you know lol
  12. First build opinions

Hey guys, So it's my first time building my own PC. Iv had experience repairing PCs and other devices before but building my own for the first time. Basically, its going to be my Gaming PC and I'm gonna be doing some side work with it; Mainly, Adobe Premiere & Photoshop as well as managing/building a few websites.Give me your opinions, all are welcome. Here are my components :[Bought Already] CPU : i7 7700k[Bought Already] Motherboard : MSI Z270 Gaming M5[Undecided] Memory : 16GB(2x8gb) TridentZ RBG DDR4-3200mhz[Undecided] Graphics Card : ASUS Dual GeForce GTX 1050 Ti OR ASUS GeForce GTX 1050 Ti ROG STRIX OC UPDATE: I will run integrated graphics till i am able to get a GTX 1080 or if the GTX 20 series is out by then i will just go for that, so one high end card. [Bought Already] CPU Case/Tower : Thermalake Versa N21 Snow [Undecided, not sure if ill need 550w or 650w yet] PSU : EVGA SuperNova G3 650w 80+ Gold Fully Modular PSU UPDATE : I am confused as to wattage, i am currently aiming for a 650w 80+ gold g3 but im not sure if a bronze 650w or 550w would suffice, want this PSU to be able to keep up when the GPU comes in Storage : Samsung 850 Evo 500gb 2.5inch Sata III SSD(boot/main drive) & 7.2k RPM 1tb HDD(just general storage for old stuff or whatever I'm not using every day etc or backups of files) UPDATE: I might get an m.2 500gb or 240gb with a 1tb hdd for general storage and the m.2 for boot drive and other important/immediately relevant filesCooling : Completely undecided but for CPU i guess this - Cooler Master Hyper 212 LEDConsidering liquid CPU cooling and ill get a couple single fans for the case when i receive it (today) and i will decide how many i need etcMonitor : Sceptre C 32-Inch Screen LED-lit Monitor (C325W-1920R) x1 [Will definitely get a second and possible a third NON curved screen for the center display later on] UPDATE : It was brought to my attention this monitor having 60hz refresh and 1080p would not look very good at 32inch but already bought and reciecing it on the 5th so i will bare with it, but if you could recommend a decently priced high quality (preferabbly curved) monitor i would greatly appreciate. I am deciding on what to buy etc, this is my idea of what I'm going forIf you think something would work better with this or make it more efficient etc please let me know. Also im hoping to upgrade my GPU later, I'm starting off with a 1050 and may buy a 1080 later on, and just use two GPUs working together, the 1050 and 1080 if its possible to like use SLI with two different cards like that. if not 1080 main card and done with that haha Also going to get another set of 16gb ram so ill end up with 32gb later onGaming mouse/keyboard to be bought later on, isnt that serious right now and i might get a wlan card later. Will start with a wired connection I also want the OPTION to overclock. I bought the Z270 and the unlocked 7700k for that purpose, i will not be doing it right away but later on i would like the option to attempt it later. just so you know. Also keep this in mind with the PSU options etc.So, What do you guys think?
  13. Hello. The PC below is what I will use for gaming and a tiny bit of video editing. I am just wondering if I need any other parts as I don’t have anything already (except from things like headphones etc). I am also wondering if it will run gta v and cod ww2. Thanks!
  14. Hello, I have been gaming on my laptop for past couple of years but now it's time for a new gaming rig. For this, here's my planned list: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/kfDMBP Please rate/criticize the list and suggest me any improvements (if any) that needs to be done in the existing list. Just a note: I prefer performance over aesthetic look and my budget is flexible. Thanks.
  15. My first pc

Hi I had a prebuild system for a long time and now I decided to upgrade, this is the build right now https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Jbm2pb (I already have the SSD) + an 2TB HDD im gonna salvage and a DVD drive, the case is gonna be Regnum RG1W Pure Black. I want to use it for 4K gaming and I wanna try streaming and Im thinking about buying VR in the future. So I want to ask if there isnt a part Im including right now that would be bad or something. Im right on my budget right now.

I'm willing to spend $3000-$4000 CAD to build a gaming PC. This is my first time building a PC, so your help is much appreciated. I also don't know a lot about hardware and what the "best" components are. I'd like to have everything ordered by December 1, 2017. I will use the PC for: Gaming. Music production (using Ableton). Game development (using Unity). Software development. General purpose stuff like browsing the web, watching movies, etc. Maybe doing some video production stuff in the future. Running virtual machines occasionally (macOS, Linux, Windows IIS). Among all of these, I think "Gaming" really determines what the build needs to be. I don't do video production or run virtual machines enough to merit a CPU with a large number of cores. The build must: Be able to play the "best games" at 4k 60fps+. Be able to support VR gaming. Have an Intel processor. Have an SSD (to contain the Windows 10 OS and some games). Have 3TB+ of disk space. A dedicated sound card (for high-quality music production). Or, should I use a DAC? Going to buy a DAC in the future. Have "enough" RAM. Be quiet!! The budget is just for the machine itself (i.e., it doesn't include the VR headset, monitor, etc). 17. Hi So I have spent the last few months learning about PC parts in the hopes of building my own PC. While I am obviously no expert, I do feel I have enough decent knowledge now on different parts and a little in building, to finally start it. I just finished the overall build, with the only things subject to change are the peripherals. (Keyboard and mouse being decent place holders but a bit expensive. Monitor could also change depending on sales.) When researching my build I consulted friends, forums, and Youtube videos (Mainly Linus Tech Tips and Tech Quicke, but some others as well when needed) I ran into common misconceptions and down right lies about a few things, but overall I feel it was worth it and am glad I took the time to learn this stuff, though there is still a lot to know. So with that out of the way let me actually talk about my build. My budget was $1000 for the PC itself (Not including OS. Though I went over by $40 or so) and about $500 for peripherals. My total $1520.75 (Based on PC Part Picker (Prices may vary. I am buying the RAM for $38 on sale so originally it would be higher) This price also doesn't include RGB strips or mousepad. So to start off I am going with an Intel Core I5-8400. I chose Intel because of higher quality, based on quite a few people I know swearing by it as well as internet suggestions. I chose the I5-8400 based on it being "A six-core processor on a budget" It offering good price to performance and the only cheaper option for a 6 core processor. For the Motherboard I am going with the MSI Z370 Pro ATX. One of the only few that are compatible with 8th Gen CPUs, as well as the cheapest. For RAM I am going with G.Skill Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3200. I was going to go with a slower speed to save some money, but when they went on sale it would only be a savings of around $10-$20, so I opted for the higher speed. For Storage I am going with SanDisk SSD Plus 240GB. Not sure if I have to justify this one... uhhh... Cheap? Planning to play games so choose 240GB instead of 120GB. As well as a Seagate Barracuda 2TB 7200 RPM Hard Drive. (Also may change based on sales or price drops) For my Graphics Card I chose the EVGA Geforce GTX 1060 6GB Gaming Card. Didn't want to spring for the 1070 because it's $150 more, but I could always upgraded in future. Also the reason for the model is pricing. For my case I chose the Be Quiet! Pure Base 600 W/ window Black ATX Mid Tower Case. Design is decent, build quality is too. Rubber grommet-ed holes for better cable management, and I wanted a tempered glass window. For my Power Supply I am going with an EVGA SuperNOVA NEX 650W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply. Again not sure I need to justify this but I wanted a fully modular one that met my power needs and was decently priced. For the Monitor I am going with the Asus VG248QE 24.0" 1920x1080 144Hz Monitor. For Price, refresh rate, screen size, and highly reviewed. Now the keyboard and mouse may change, I am not heart set on them, they are more or less place holders, but I may get them if I can't find any others I like for cheaper. If you want to see them, look for the link below. So that's pretty much it, I mean there is Windows 10, RGB light strips from Cablemodz, and shipping costs. I expect it come out to about $1600 total, give or take $50 or so. I'm not 100% sure why I am making this post, I am sure I will get messages like "Go AMD" ," Pony up for a 1070", "Man I can think of a way better blah blah blah" And to be honest I have probably considered most of them, but decided against it. Now that's not to say I know everything or that I don't want constructive comments, as long as they are objective and nice. But I really don't plan on changing any part of this build (Aside from what I have already mentioned may change) In fact, I am buying the RAM tomorrow since it is on sale. So unless I have made some huge mistake, which I don't think I have, I probably wont change anything. That being said, I am new to this and would welcome the advice. If you want to see the list in an easier format, here https://pcpartpicker.com/user/orx24/saved/#view=dnFPsY Thanks to anyone who reads or comments, Happy Thanksgiving, Evan
  18. Hi, I am planning to build a pc in about 2 months. The reason why I want these parts is that I want to play games at 1440p and 4k like Battlefield 1 etc. Besides that, I want to do a little bit video editing and streaming. I choose this motherboard but if you can give me some opinions about it it would be awesome. These are the parts that I want to pick, Phanteks Eclipse P400S Tempered Glass - Midtower - €91,94 Intel Core i7 7700K - 4.2 GHz - €328,95 Corsair Hydro Series H100i v2 Extreme Performance Liquid CPU Cooler - €118,90 ASUS ROG STRIX Z270F GAMING - Motherboard - €179,90 Ballistix Sport LT - DDR4 2666mhz - €174,90 Gigabyte Aorus GeForce GTX 1080Ti - €839,00 SanDisk PLUS - Solid state drive 240GB - €87,85 WD Blue WD10EZRZ - Hard Disk 1TB - €48,90 Corsair RMx Series RM750x PSU - €108,90 In total €1.979,24 Btw I don't want to go over 2.000 Euro My last question is should I buy some of the parts at black Friday?
  19. Hey, ive got a pretty bad laptop rn (an amd a8 apu) and am planning to build a pc. Heres my list: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Teo_1221/saved/KfpGf7 (for the graphics card i wil purchase whatever rx 480 or 580 that is the cheapest when im ready to buy, ive also already bought the power supply and hard drive) I'm trying to get about 60+fps at 1080p. how do you think my build is? i know the power supply is low and should be able to run an rx480, but can it run an rx 580? if so, how much overclocking can i get on my graphics card and processor?
  20. Hello friends! As the title says, I am building a new PC and it will be the first one I build myself. I am very shaky about the whole process, but I think after a few months of research, I understand the basics (maybe). I still have very many questions, and I hope you guys here can assist me with them. I suppose since this is my first time on this site, I'll follow the guidelines listed in the sticky post. 1. Budget & Location: I am located in the US, and my budget was preferably under $2000. That kind of went halfway out the window. 2. Aim: The aim of this PC is to be a [subjective] beast for gaming. I also mix & record music using the pro tools software, so the more powerful the better; pro tools loves it some cpu cores. I'm by no means an enthusiast, nor do I plan on overclocking this machine soon. I do, however, want the capability to; in case I gain further knowledge and want to do so in the future. 3. Monitors: I currently have two 27" 1920x1080 monitors @60hz. I want to upgrade my primary monitor for gaming to at least 144hz so I can actually see those sweet, sweet frames that I'll finally be able to see with the 1080. GSync and Freesync are of no consequence to me. 4. Peripherals: I will be purchasing one copy of Windows 10 64-bit (pro, home, education, whatever) 5. Why am I Upgrading? My current PC is a 5 year old pre-built gateway, and it just doesn't cut it any longer. I want to be able to play modern games at their highest settings without chugging, fps lag, or anything else that would come to be due to an old computer struggling. I want to be able to keep this PC for a long while, and actually be able to upgrade it piece by piece when necessary. My build will be (more than likely) as follows: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/CmGCNN Edited to https://pcpartpicker.com/list/qKsvpb CPU/ Air Cooler Questions: An air cooler is a must-have, as I do not want a liquid cooler at all. I heard coffee lake runs very hot, especially the 8700k, so I picked one of the top of the line air coolers by noctua and I want to run it in a dual fan config (hence the second fan listed and the low profile RAM).Motherboard: I'm not completely certain on the Gigbyte mobo, I hear mixed things about all mobos. I read that people like Gigabyte for it's quality, and less about its BIOS. Given I don't know anything about BIOS or navigating them, is this a problem for a beginner? Don't even get me started on wiring and plugging in the physical cables; I'm going to have to figure that beast out slowly, while building.Storage: I like the idea of having an M.2 drive given its ridiculous speed and load times for games. I listed a 2TB HDD for mass storage of my music files and the like, leaving my M.2 SSD for the OS, games, and other programs. My uncertainty lies with the M.2 SSD and heat; do I need additional cooling for the M.2? I read things that people say about them, and they go both ways. It pretty much comes down to "get additional cooling if you're giving the M.2 a consistent heavy load" and I'm not sure what constitutes a "heavy load" on an SSD. Games and mixing music won't be SSD-intensive, will they?GPU: The GPU is a massive upgrade for me, and I know this is the one I want (or perhaps even a Ti if you guys think it's a good idea to have the 1080Ti over the 1080). This is also why I'm upgrading my monitor from two 1920x1080 60hz monitors to one 1920x1080 144hz and one 1920x1080 60hz. I can't seem to find a decently priced monitor with higher resolution at 144hz that is NOT curved. GSync and FreeSync are not necessary.Case/Fans: And my case, the Cooler Master Mastercase Pro 5. This is a big deal for me, as I want positive air pressure going on inside for maximum cooling and minimum dust/cat hair/whatever getting inside of it. I need to have an optical drive so having 3 140mm fans on the front is a no-go, and I'm unsure how to get positive air pressure in this case without those 3 fans. Perhaps 2 140mm intake fans, the 140mm exhaust fan and one 120mm exhaust fan up on top? I don't know if the huge noctua air cooler will mess around with the air pressure I'm trying to establish either.Thank all and anyone who reads this wall of text to help a super beginner out. If there are parts that you guys think would be better for me and my build, keep in mind that my budget was $2000, as mentioned above. With the monitor it went overboard, so nothing above what it is now preferably.Thank you so much!
  21. My First Build

Well the title says it , this will be my first desktop build in like ....um..... 10-12 years of using laptops.I would appreciate any and all comments and suggestions about the parts picked. One thing I have to mention is Im a bit limited on part variety since Im getting all the parts from the same shop where Ill be getting them on leasing (dont have the cash to drop at once). This is the site for the shop for whoever wants to look at prices or what I can pick from , please have in mind site quality is bad and the currency is in Bulgarian Lev. - www.most-sz.com/ SO on to the build and why it is as it is - I wanted a small pc (ended picking Mid tower build for more Cpu cooling options) , which will MOSTLY , but not only be used for movies , youtube , music and such , and sometimes Dota and other not so high and mighty games. 23. FIRST Robotics

I don't know if there is already a topic for this but I don't think there is. I was just wondering if anyone knows anything about FIRST Robotics. More importantly I was wondering if anyone had an idea on what this year's game is. If you don't know what it is go to https://www.firstinspires.org/ to find out more.

  25. For a month now, I have non-stop been doing research on gaming PCs. After a lot of advice from many people, from three different forums, I have finally gotten my final $650 Budget for what I think is the best setup for my money. An SSD will be added in the future. https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Adrean123561/saved/xLXbjX I really want the most advice for my preference. I would be playing games that are not super-intensive such as Overwatch, CS:GO, Minecraft, and Terraria. More intensive games would be GTA-V, PUBG (AFTER OPTIMIZATION UPDATES) and finally Rainbow Six. I would play on medium-high settings or even low if I have to. Thanks in advance for any advice or constructive-criticism.
