solved Singularity spectre build(need help)
goofygc316 posted a topic in Custom Loop and Exotic Cooling
I hope everyone has quarantined themselves and is staying safe. Posting it here for more visibility. Had started with singularity spectre build few months back. Here's the link of the build log progress I've made till now I thought I'd pose these questions and ask for suggestions Have a bitspower temp sensor stop fitting for monitoring the coolant's temperature. Should I plug this into a 2-pin W_IN header as shown below? The manual says the header is for monitoring the liquid cooling system. Or plug into T_SENSOR1 which is meant for thermistor cable. Have two alphacool nexxos 360mm radiators(for top and front panel) which are to be cooled by Deepcool mf120 fans(Each box includes 3 fans. Each fan is controlled by a single fan controller powered by a SATA connector and a PWM header connector. The fan controller can connect up to 3 fans at once. Have box 2 boxes. One for each radiator. RGB illumination can only be controlled through an app over WIFI). Thought I'd connect two 4-pin PWM headers to ASUS MOBO's fan headers and control the fan speed through ASUS's fan expert 4 utility. These are the fan connectors. Should I connect one pwm connector to CPU_FAN header and another one to any other one(like H_AMP_FAN or CHA_FAN1)? I have also seen MOBO throw up an error saying that "CPU fan is not detected" during tests. So, the CPU_FAN header needs to be occupied no matter what. Or should I go with CHA_FAN1 and CHA_FAN2 which are meant for chassis fans. -
Hi All, I'm looking for some recommendations for my first budget gaming rig. I have done some PCs in the past but not one a gaming pc. So this will be my first attempt to do a gaming pc :). Basically following is my part list. Please note that this part list is for Australian market https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/nNvpJV I'll be mainly doing first person shooting games(CS GO, COD, Crysis etc) and car games (NFS, Dirt 3 etc) You will see that there are no Storage, Case and a monitor for this build. That is because I already got a ATX case, 120GB SSD(I know this is too low, this is only for the start ) and some TB worth of hard drives and a 27' Asus IPS display What is your take on this part list? Is there any other recommended part list you have for sub $600 range

Hi guys, I am thinking of having my first rig within a month. Yet, I cannot say that I am on top of basics of how should I pair up the components etc. I am on a limited budget, USD 1,000 including all peripherals. Below, I gathered a list on pcpartpicker, as seen the prices don't add up to USD 1000 because I left a margin for the missing ones such as monitor, case and others. As I am building this in Turkey, I also had to consider the price differences mainly resulting from the applicable tax. So please feel free to contribute. Below I am also listing the must-haves of my rig: Ps. I will translate the prices into the applicable Turkish prices. So 1000 USD might mean 1100 USD in Turkey for a particular build while 900 USD for another. So more the alternatives, the better it gets. 1. I am a moderate gamer. I don't play too much and my expectations are not that high. It is enough for me to run moderate-demanding games like Cities Skylines, Counter Strike at 60 fps @1080p, moderate-high settings if not ultra high (I am not sure if it sounds humble build or a good one). 2. It has to be silent... very silent. 3. It must have a good looking and for that reason I leaving a huge proportion for the case and the monitor in my budget. Any case suggestions? 4. I hate cables. Must have a perfect cable management. 5. I am also open to monitor suggestions up to USD 250ish range. For the build list: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/kNxYvV Please Note: HDD or SSD is missing because I am going to use my 240 GB Corsair SSD recycled from my laptop. But I am wondering if I should pair the ssystem up with a M.2 SSD. I opted for a 550W PS but not sure if its being a waste of money. My questions are: Can you please offer alternatives or if any how can I avoid bottlenecks? Again, please suggest monitors and cases that would go with the above system. Many thanks!

So my rig is mostly finished and I haven't etched the outside like I want to yet. The rig needs a name and I can't for the life of me decide what it's name is going to be. The outside of the case is going to be black with the galaxy m 101 overlayed on a background of Hubble's first deep field picture etched into both sides and the front panel is going to be a meteor sketch I can create again on Hubble's deep field picture. I've been tossing around names like comet and space junk but nothing I can think of really hits home. Any ideas fabulous people of the tech tip?

Since I may also overclock these parts, I thought it would better if get a chassis that would help with water-cooling. The chassis(spectre 2.0) is from singularity computers(shout out to Daniel Cannon) has integrated cable management, a reservoir for cooling liquid, and a PSU compartment. The inspirations are previous builds from Jayz two cents' Beerbongs and Bentleys Custom PC Case!, Linus, and l3p spectre The PSU shroud has provision for attaching a vertical GPU mount. With the mount, only a single SSD can be hooked up on the shroud. Still figuring out if I should use a bracket for the HDD. Most of the parts were ordered a year ago. I was worried that TitanXP water blocks would have got decommissioned since the introduction of the RTX series. Fortunately, EKWB has compatible blocks and backplates. I haven't designed the loop yet since it needs a lot more research than I expected. So here's the chassis build progress. I'll update you more.

Hey guys. I'm planning to build a new gaming pc for myself. This will be a proper build. With my budget of £1500 what would be a really good build. I haven't thought of the build precisely so I'm open to any other builds. This will be my first proper gaming pc. As my other pc i just bought it of amazon. This is the build I'm thinking of. I only ever had intel pc so thats my go to but I would be open to AMD. I used PC Specialist for this. Thinking of buying from there everything looks legit as far as I can tell. Hi. This is my first post on this forum, or any forum by that matter. I'm looking for suggestions on a gaming rig I'm looking to build myself. I'm on a budget here so about 500€/600€ from different online stores for each component. After doing my own research for best components per price I've come up with a build and need help from people that actually understand what they're doing. MOTHERBOARD: ASUS Prime A320M-K AMD Ryzen RAM: CG.Skill Kit 8GB (2X4GB) DDR4 2800MHz Trident Z Red GPU: ASUS Phoenix GTX 1050 Ti 4GB GDDR5 CPU: Ryzen 5 2600 3.9GHz PSU: Kolink Core 600W 80+ CASE: Hummer TGS STORAGE: TOSHIBA 1TB 7200rpm + Kingston 120GB SSD EDIT: Changed per some suggestions in the comments. SUPER APPRECIATE IT from all of you. Only thing I didn't change was the GPU. I think from what I researched about the GPU-MB compatibility that it still works and anything above a 1050 ti / 1060 makes it a bit much for me. FINAL EDIT: Due to all the suggestions and research on more websites then I'd like to admit, I've reached a final setup that's ideal for both the types of games that I play and my budget, coming in at 688,90€ and possible further upgradability. Thank you all for the suggestions Looking for possible improvements I can make in terms of performance or price. I also attached a print from the Excel spreadsheet draft I made. I really appreciate all responses I may or may not get. Due to the budget right now I can't really afford a super RGB beast just yet though. Thank you all :3

Hey guy, I know that there are some posts around here and around reddit, but I can't seem to find the straight forward answer, so here goes nothing : I have this pretty old (bought in 2008,i believe) pre-build PC, recently I got myself a new gaming rig and no longer see any need for this old guy. Now, this old PC can take up to 3 GPUs (1 riser needed), I assume 5hat I would have to change the existing PSU as it runs at 550W, but I didn't do my research on the PSU part yet, so I'm not sure about this, and as a matter of fact the power price around here is like 0,16$/kW. For the actual question I had in mind is, should I get 3 AMD cards or Nvidia? I don't have the biggest budget ever, so I was considering some GTX 1060s or RX460/RX560/RX570. While considering the Nvidia part, please explain if I should get the 3gb or 6gb and why, because as far as I am concerned there I no real difference in mining while considering the VRAM. For the AMD part I'm pretty much going for the 2gb/4gb editions since I understood that here it makes no sense to get anything more, and that it's a total waste to get 8gb. PS let me know about your rigs and how profitable they are, if they were worth it, and so... Thanks!

https://in.pcpartpicker.com/list/HsnHf8 I got a budget around $1500, and it came pretty close to it without the motherboard. I have been looking at various products but I have no idea what to choose, can anyone sort me out with this please.

This will hopefully be the LAST time I have to post about this, because I've been messing with this list a lot and I'm finally okay with the price. Here is my build: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/TyFilms/saved/dQpgsY I have finally let go of the $75 case and I would be fine with this case. I have also decided to not get the rx 480 because I'm 13 and I make money by selling a certain thing on Etsy for $20 each and I would have to sell one more. So yeah, I'm using this build for LIGHT video editing. By light I don't mean editing a freaking movie, I mean making YouTube commentaries, so I don't need a beast. And also, this build is for LOTS and LOTS of gaming. I know the rx 470 can handle it, but will anything bottleneck? And don't say anything about the hyper 212 evo, I hate when computers make sound so that's why it's there.

(off topic) I was typing a very detailed plan for my first build, I wasn't logged in, I lost all that... so here is a spec list of the for sure parts: Already bought Xeon x5460 (lga 771) $18 (inc. adapter sticker) ASrock G31 m-s Rev. 1.01 (lga 775) $38 4 GB ddr2 800 2*2 sticks $17 Western Digital 500gb sata hdd free Planning to buy Cooler master Hyper T4 tube of Arctic Silver 5 Grey Area (required as well) 500+watt psu Used gpu (equivalent to gtx 750 ti and/or more powerful, needs to cost less than $60) I would like to use an older laptop monitor with a lcd converter or my 32'' inch display I also need a cheap keyboard I don't want a case (diy solution?), and I will be performing the lga 771 to 775 mod. I want to use this computer rig for a mixture of everyday and gaming sessions. I wont be playing the very laatest games, but I will want to play Skyrim on High, Assetto Corsa on medium, and dirt rally on medium-High. I will also need some help on WiFi and setting up everything, especially the mother board... If model numbers are asked for, I will happily give them. What do you guys think? What should I get for the gpu? and the psu?? I was thinking to get a gtx 670, or a 560... (used, obviously)

first rig Building my first rig, feedback apreciated :)
DEDAAN posted a topic in New Builds and Planning
So after 6 years of use on this current pc I'm planning ot build a new one. Since the one I am running is mostly a stock pc and houses pretty old components upgrading isn't really an option, so I decided to opt for a totally new fresh build. 6 years ago I pretty much didn't have any knowledge about pc's that has dramastically changed since then, but eventhough I feel like I know a lot right now I still would ike to get some feedback so I can be sure about my build. I feel like I know enough about RAM, CPU's and Video cards, however my knowledge about motherboards etc is kinda lacking. I've been collecting some parts over at partpicker and I'm pretty hapy with what I have right now. My plans: So I'm also doing some multimedia work like photoshop and adobe after effects and I know this pc can conatin better components for this kind of use however I should not that in around half a year from now I will be getting a high end laptop since I need that for mys study which I'll be doing so thats why I decided to got with mid tier components. Also I'm not planning on planning games which require a really high end build to run at high settings, the only game I'm kinda interested in of that department is rise of the tomb raider but I think this pc will be able to run it. Components: As you can see I have chosen a AMD rx 480 atm however I thinking of going for a GTX 1060 after I've seen some of the benchmarks so that's not set yet. At first I also just had a HDD but my friends told me to go for a SSD but I find them to be quite expensive so that's why I went with and hybrid. ALso since the rest of my setup is mainly Black-White-Blue I kinda want to keep it along those lines. Extra Info: So since I will also be getting a high end laptop next year I don't want to make this PC to expensive, I'm trying to stay around the €900 and I definitly don't want to go over the €1000. Also first I had the i5 6600K but after I looked into some overclocking stats I think I won't really need it and this CPU can boost to 3,9GHZ and the one I'm running right now only has 3.2 so that should be plenty. You may have seen that I do not have a cooler chosen that's becauce I bought a Cooler Master 212 Evo about 2 months ago so I'll be putting that in this PC. I live in the Netherlands and since most of the things I read and watch are form the US or other foreign counries I don't know how things are situated in the Netherlands. It will about 2 months orso for me to get my money so nos haste but I decided to plan ahead already so by the time I would finnally have my money I would be ready and I will be able to get it immediately. Thanks for the help in advanced guys and if you have any question just ask me! Have a nice summer Kind regards from the Netherlands, DEDAAN -
Hello everyone I hope you are having a wonderful day !. I have owned a laptop for 3 years, and now I finally have the ability to acquire a decent computer. I live in the US, and I would be using this computer for Gaming, record and edit game-plays. I am able to spend around $1300 USD, yet I can go up another $50 bucks if necessary. Parts required: -CPU + COOLER -GPU. -MOTHERBOARD. -POWER SUPPLY -RAM -SSD&HD -CASE ( does not have to be a fancy one). -OS. -DVD BURNER ( in order to install OS) - MONITOR. Hello guys, Earlier, I posted a thread on a PC I will be purchasing in a few months. And, a person suggested a different rig, for around the same price, which packed more of a punch. But now, I need to choose, this is where you guys come in. Which one should I choose? I will be using the PC for Medium/Heavy 3D Modeling/Rendering. As well as making detailed games using both Unreal Engine 4 and Unity 5. Also, I will be using Adobe CC (Creative Cloud). The most-used apps in Adobe CC will be: Premier Pro, Illustrator, Photoshop and After Effects. I will be trying to get a high - medium overclock. I will be playing games at 1440p, and want to record them at 1080/1440p; using Fraps/Dxtory, but later on I will be developing my own Screen Recorder. First PC: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/T9nBJx Second PC: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/RBFLnQ So, which one should I choose?

(Fair warning I SUCK at grammar) Hi everybody! So the deals will or have started to come in for November black friday and cyber monday (which is crazy soon, I know) from online and in store. I thought it will be a great time to buy my PC parts around this time and I would like some suggestion on my parts I selected. Please note I've done tons of research but never really done this before. I pick parts that I like and match together on a red and black theme inside the case and white on the outside (thinking of coloring the case in the future). This will have to last for a very long time so 8+ years give or take so I pick parts that will last for quite some time (hopefully, not really). Couple of things to consider 1) I must have a wifi on it. It not piratical for me to run a wire (I live with my parents and don't understand my intentions *tech guy in the house*) So instead of adding a wifi pcie card, I pick a mobo with it because I don't want any issue. 2) That is all for now....Everything else is fair game to be honest My budget for this is $2000 with peripherals, I'll get a proper monitor later on and it more gaming, school, and entertainment center Here a link to my idea so far.... http://pcpartpicker.com/p/gxVnjX Thanks!
-
UPDATE: Followed Mistersprinkles' advice and have since updated the parts as listed in the following link. http://pcpartpicker.com/user/Zealecia/saved/dkfV3C Do use this link for the most updated components that I have picked and once again, thanks for all the helpful advice! <end update> I kinda felt bad signing up at LTT just for that Zotac GTX 980 giveaway, so I decided to seek advice from the experienced community as well! I've read those specific pinned posts before posting this so I sincerely hope I'll be getting spot-on advice for the following. Well, here goes! 1. Budget & Location I reside in Singapore which is a small country located in the SEA region. The budget I'm considering is up to SGD$3000 or approximately USD$2200 since I'm likely to be shipping them via a courier service from within the US to Singapore. 2. Aim I am an aspiring game developer and also an avid gamer. However, I don't exactly intend to create games that require top-of-the-line hardware to play at max settings which is why I am opting for a GTX 970 as a benchmark for the next 3 years. Also, this rig isn't something I plan to get immediately. Rather, I'll be getting it sometime from March 2015 onwards. That's when I'll be cleared from certain commitments and be able to devote my time to game development. 3. Monitors There isn't a need to factor the price of the monitor into the budget. I'm already considering the Asus ROG Swift as a must-have but already have a 27-inch monitor so I'll be using it till either the price of the mentioned monitor drops, or a better one comes up. 4. Peripherals Already own several that I will still be using. For the OS, I will be using Windows 10 Tech Preview since I want to optimise my game for the future and will be purchasing it when it's retailing. 5. Why are you upgrading? It's my first time building a rig and I would simply like to make it the best first experience ever. Plus it'll be quite the performance jump from my old comrade Alienware M11x R1. 6. Current choice on parts http://pcpartpicker.com/user/Zealecia/saved/dkfV3C
