After doing my own research, I think I have created the right build for me, but I would certainly like some help making sure I haven't overlooked anything. I'm entering a theatre production program next fall and will need a beefier computer (the whole set-up, I have NO parts currently other than a wireless mouse) than the laptop I currently have (an HP Pavilion laptop, bought in 2018, has Intel UHD Graphics 620 and Intel Core i7 - 8550U at 1.8GHz/1.99GHz, RAM 8GB, and 64-bit OS). Not sure how much of that info is needed but the requirements for my new computer are below. If I say anything that doesn't make sense or if what I need is way out of my budget I do apologize, I don't know much about computers and their parts and what they should cost; I've done minimal research. But I do have plenty of time to save up some money if the build I need is over my current budget. Ideally it's as close to $800 as possible! Budget (including currency): $800-$900 max Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: I'll be using it as a workstation to run programs such as Vectorworks and AutoCAD. I may use other similar programs as well. I also anticipate having lots of tabs open at once for long periods of time for schoolwork, as well as streaming video/music and using Zoom. It will not really be used for serious gaming, I would only ever play Minecraft on it (and I would also use Discord). Other details: My preferences and technical requirements for Vectorworks and AutoCAD 3.0 GHz or better Intel i7 -or- AMD Ryzen 7 with 8 cores or better. A dedicated OpenGL 2.1 compatible graphics card with 8GB of VRAM or more. RAM 32GB minimum. I'm wanting a monitor with 1920x1080 resolution, minimum size of 20in (24in preferred), with speakers built in. But if it's cheaper/better to buy a speaker separately that's fine too. I don't really know what refresh rate and fps would be ideal. Whatever will work sufficiently that's in/near budget. For a keyboard I would most prefer a silver/gray one with backlit keys (white preferred but RBG is fine) that is NOT tenkeyless. I don't have a preference if its wired or wireless. I'll need a tower/case as well but I don't want anything flashy with a side window or any crazy lights. I don't know what size I'll need, just whatever will fit all the required parts and doesn't cost me an arm and a leg. Color preference is silver/gray but black is fine if it keeps me within budget. I know I'm leaving out some other parts but I have no specific/known requirements for those If you need any more information from me I'll answer as soon as I can!

Hello Linus tech tips community! I am building my first pc, it is lius's 4k PC. I thinking of getting dual nvidia gtx Titan blacks, will everything in that build still be compatible to get the Titan instead, like the PSU, motherboard, etc(The build is the link :-))? So this is the first time i'm building a computer. I live in Australia so my prices are probably slightly different to yours. I have a budget of around 1400-1500. Hi there, I am planning to build my first PC. I will do a lot of general productivity work (big word documents and excel spreadsheets) and some occasional gaming and 3D modelling on this PC. I don't play a lot of games but when I do play games I play some very graphics intensive games such as the new Battlefields, Planetside 2, Squad, Arma 3 and Pubg. Also play mmorpg's every once in a while. I desire to play these games at high to ultra graphics settings and reach over 60fps. On my old laptop (an Alienware 13 from 2015 with a gtx 860m) games ran reasonably well, but when playing e.g. Planetside 2 I had to put my graphics to low and still barely reached 40+ fps. I know that Planetside 2 is very badly optimised (although the developers are improving this), but you should get what I am saying. To meet all these needs I put together this PC: CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600X 3.6 GHz 6-Core Processor MOTHERBOARD: ASRock B450M PRO4 Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard RAM: Patriot Viper Steel 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 Memory SSD: Western Digital Blue 500 GB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive GPU: XFX Radeon RX 590 8 GB FATBOY OC+ Video Card CASE: Cooler Master MasterBox Q300L MicroATX Mini Tower Case POWER SUPPLY: Corsair CXM 550 W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-modular ATX Power Supply TWO CASE COOLERS: ARCTIC P12 Silent 24.1 CFM 120 mm Fan I picked the Ryzen 5 2600x as it seemed to be the best bang for the buck, being very cheap and still giving a lot of performance. The ASRock B450M Pro4 was my first choice motherboard as it was also reasonably priced and has a four fan headers in total, meaning that I can connect my case fans (3 in total: 1 included in case, 2 bought extra) straight to the motherboard. The ram is cheap and fast. The SSD is also cheap, holds enough storage for a start (I can gear up on this later on). The case looks good and is quite small. I don't want my case to take up too much room as I will use this in college. My power supply is cheap , 80+ bronze certified and provides enough power for the setup. The coolers are also a good bang for the buck, being very quiet. I will most likely not purchase the XFX Radeon Rx 590 8GB, but instead wait for the RX 5500 to come out. I saw that the 4GB model of the RX 5500 runs about as fast as the Radeon RX 590 8GB, but is meant to be 25% cheaper. My build is meant to be no more expensive than 700 EUR. I am from Germany and hence I will order all my parts in Germany. This is important as some parts that are quite cheap in America are actually very expensive in Germany and vice versa. This current build is €662.86 If I can go cheaper than this and still get some great performance I would gladly do that, but I do not want to sacrifice much performance in context of the tasks that I want this machine to do. What do you think about this build? I am open to any suggestions and edits in order to perfect the build. Also, what monitors do you suggest with this? Many Thanks in advance.
