Hello, It's my first build in over 14 years. This is the build (by far): PCPartPicker Part List: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/P3BCYg CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 5900X 3.7 GHz 12-Core Processor CPU Cooler: NZXT Kraken X73 RGB 52.44 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler ($219.99 @ Adorama) Motherboard: Asus ROG Crosshair VIII Dark Hero ATX AM4 Motherboard ($449.99 @ Amazon) Memory: G.Skill Trident Z Neo 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3600 CL16 Memory ($227.99 @ Newegg) Storage: Crucial MX500 1 TB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($109.97 @ Amazon) Storage: Western Digital Black SN850 1 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive ($209.99 @ Western Digital) Video Card: Asus GeForce RTX 3090 24 GB STRIX GAMING OC Video Card ($2999.99 @ Monoprice) Power Supply: Corsair RMx 1000 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply ($253.88 @ Amazon) Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 Pro OEM 64-bit ($139.88 @ Other World Computing) Total: $4611.68 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2021-07-05 15:15 EDT-0400 My concern is that, given my dusty environment, I don't want dust to accumulate into those components and start damaging them over months. I know of 2 ways to reduce dust - filters on all air inlets and positive air pressure in the case Both Fractal Meshify 2 AND Lian Li O11D XL have dust filters on all air inlets and I hope to manage positive air pressure with 5 (Meshify 2) / 6 (O11D XL) input fans and 4 output fans. Dust filters on O11D seem less effective as per different comments I've seen and Meshify 2's filters at least look of better quality (similar to those AC filters that are really good). I'm also ready to spend on those DEMCiflex filters for any of these cases if they can control the dust really well. I'm also open to having to clean filters / PC as frequently as required. Also, I narrowed down to these two based on thermals testing by Gamers Nexus using standardized fans. Can anyone please help me decide between the two? Thanks!

We all know and love the 1.1.1.1 DNS from Cloudflare. But now, on this foolish day, Cloudflare has announced two new DNS addresses that were quite in demand apparently. (technically four new DNS ). Here's a partial quote from the article, which I encourage you to go and read the source of: Now I'm sure I know what you're thinking. Surely this is a joke right? It IS April fool's day, after all. Nope. It actually works! I've tried the 1.1.1.3 DNS on my router and it did indeed blocks those darn websites that are just everywhere these days. Honestly, this is great for families and likely for system admins of various businesses too, to prevent their users from watching pr0n on the job. I've been using the 1.1.1.1 DNS for a while now and am quite satisfied with it. But with these new DNS, I'm making the switch. Certainly, I am not personally going to use the 1.1.1.3 DNS... For obvious reasons ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°). But if the 1.1.1.2 DNS can offer somewhat additional protection, I'm happy to switch to it and will likely add this DNS to the list of things I should change on other networks that I manage. Have you ever considered combining a pc case and air filtration? The air cleaning could offset the cost of the system cooling, killing two birds with one stone.

Hi all, So here's the deal, and hope I won't get too much hate for this. I am looking for a software that can be easily configured to block certain websites in a PC laboratory environment. Short backstory: I want to have the Internet on and available during normal classes. However, during tests, students cheat. By their own admission. And they don't even do it because the test is too hard, they admitedly just do it for the thrills of "fooling the system". This is not to their best advantage. I also do not want to cut all Internet access during tests as this would be absurd. Being a programming test, they should be able to look for and find solutions on the Internet, just like in the real world. However, I would like to block social network and instant messaging apps where they can quickly exchange files and answers. I am aware of the hosts file solution, I have even written a batch file which automatically adds entries to it, however this does not seem to always work for some sites (it blocks Facebook, for example, but GMail somehow still gets through). So I am looking maybe for a firewall type solution which could be easily enabled/disabled and would do the trick. I'd like to add that I'm not trying to be mean: the blocking request also came from several students who feel disturbed by the cheating attitude of some of their colleagues. Thank you all in advance!

Where can I get side doors/Filters/Panels for the Aerocool LS5200 (Black)

I looked at a lot of websites but I couldn't find anything. Is my only option buying a new case and just scrap it? -
I decided to slice my case open and I'd like to pretty it up. My current plan is a black and orange scheme (not fanboy-ism, legitimately my fave colors) using either plasti dip/flexi dip or spray paint to get a nice finish. I don't want a glossy finish, I like the matte/textured black on the case already but need to fix all the scratches. Any suggestion?

Hey Guys, I've just bought a dust filter roll. I could cut it to size and put it over all the gaps in my case. Would this cause any issues?

Hey experts, I'm building my new pc, and I'm going to use the Define S case from Fractal Design. Everything is perfect about that case except for one thing. The top dust filter is "missing". I'm going to install a water cooler from Cooler Master, and I want to install the fans for cooling at the top. That's why I'm making my own one. So the question is; What are the dimensions of side A and B. (See picture) I believe it is 140x280mm but I'm not sure, because I don't have the case. That's it. Thanks.

Has anyone made a custom top filter for a Phanteks Enthoo?
WeeemRCB posted a topic in Power Supplies
Hi I have a Phanteks Enthoo Evolv with front mounted H115i with Noctua fans and a single Noctua fan on the exhaust. The radiator fans are push/pull which seems a bit of a waste of fan, so what I'd like to do instead is top mount them to add pressure and flow to the case when the GPU starts to heat up, but the one thing stopping me is that there's no filter in the top of the case. Has anyone made a filter for the top of the case, either custom or pre-fabricated? -
So I attend public school in the US and the internet filter is pretty obnoxious. I've pretty much given up on finding a desktop VPN to use, because I'm not paying for a subscription and free ones are always covered in ads with strict usage restrictions. So since I have an always-on home server, I was thinking I could just use that to host my own. Maybe this thread is better off in off topic, but what I'm wondering is can I possibly get into any trouble for doing this? I wouldn't think they would ever even know but maybe? I'd rather just use the data on my phone to view blocked sites (which isn't anything bad BTW, I mostly want to browse this forum and eBay, both of which they've blocked) if there's a chance of it going bad for me. What do you guys think?

So, I'm finally tired of gaming on a laptop and have finally decided to get a new PC in my dorm. The only problem is, there's almost always construction going on around the area, or inside the university itself, which means there's always a lot of dust, sand, and grit in the air. Now the case I was looking at was a Corsair 100R, and was wondering is there any specific fan set-up that is good at keeping the internals as dust free as possible? Or are there any 'after-market' way's of dust-proofing the case vents? The method I was thinking about was perhaps a very thin cloth taped to the case where the intake fans are, and preferably washing that cloth every week or two depending on how much dust it captures. I know some cases come with dust filters, but availability and price is a major factor in my region, nevertheless, I would love recommendations for low-medium end cases. Cheers!

So I'm looking for filters to use in my camera, such as ND filters and gradients. However I have different sized lenses and don't want to buy loads of the same filters for different lenses. So I want one that can go in different sized lenses, such as something that stretches to the lens and can slot in different filters. Does anyone know of one that can adjust size to fit different lenses?

Hi, i have a fairly simple question with maybe a not so easy answer (atleast i can't figure it out). I have an excel document where i have collected data on different laptop models, CPU, GPU, RAM, weight, screen size, price etc. What i want to do is when i sort by a column, for example price or processor, i want a whole row to move together cause otherwise it would mess up the order of all the data. I attached the Excel doc so you can view for yourself. Dator spreadsheet.xlsx

Hi! Is there an option or plugin for Nvidia Share where I could filter keyboard and/or air con noise while recording? I searched around to no prevail and most results ended up being either audacity or noise gate. To my understanding audacity could only remove those click noise when I'm not talking, which is a problem because I talk a lot. So that's not an option. And I still don't understand how noise gate works? Can someone please elaborate.. sorry for the noob question. Thank very much!

Hello, I'm looking at purchasing some fan filters to reduce my computer's dust intake and I was curious as to everyone's experience on the subject. I have heard some negative feedback regarding filters (reported difference of +10-20 degrees C on some hardware), but I also understand dust being the ultimate killer of cooling. My place is definitely more dusty than normal with 2 dogs and lots of foot traffic. I dont want to dampen my performance if filters are going to increase my temps by that much of a margin. I would like peace of mind regarding dust, but I have no problem with regularly cleaning my hardware if that means I need to go filterless. I'm going to be purchasing some higher end hardware and OCing my CPU with a 240mm AIO liquid cooler, also going to be running a 1080ti. Will have a phantom 530 case with 2x140mm and 4x120mm cougar fans (going for positive pressure of course). I'm also not too concerned about noise levels. The filters I was considering are pretty basic: https://www.amazon.com/eBoot-Filter-Computer-Cooler-Dustproof/dp/B01N6BFVKO What are your opinions/experiences with fan filters?? Thanks!

Hello. I have been looking at the Corsair Air 740 and noticed that there are no dust filters in the bottom at fan slots. I have been looking around and noticed Demcifilter has some filters for 28cmx14cm but I don't know how to install them from what I have seen. Do you guys have any ideas on what I can do with the filter problem? Thanks in advance for your help.

My new case doesn't come with an air filter for the front intake. I am kind of worried about how dirty my case would be, as it sits in a corner. Are there any inexpensive solutions for this? Thank you

I am working for a company in the UK and a number of our client's emails are being blocked by our customer's email accounts spam filters, looking at a number of websites for advice on Spam emails, what we are doing should not trigger the spam filters. What I want to know is, can it be our email service provider that is causing the customer's email provider to block our emails? So if we switch from who we are with at the moment to say Google will this fix the issue? Or will we still have the same problem?

So i was messing around with Vegas pro 16 and it crashed. after it crashed my videos in the films and TV playback thing that windows 10 comes stock with, has added some weird filter over it. its not negative colours because i went and checked the settings and stuff and when i flipped the colours of windows, everything went all fucked. i don't know whats happened but it mean now all of my recordings of games that i was going to use to start making youtube videos is all completely useless now. the weird thing is that i JUST discovered as i was writing this, is that it only does it on my right monitor (benq gw2480, i have three monitors, two Benq ones and a kogan one in the middle) when i drag the video over to my right benq its fine, but when i full screen it, it fucks up. unfull screen it, its still fucked but then full screen it on a another monitor its done again?!?!?! Very confused i must say that. i would think its a driver issue maybe but i don't know
