Any recommendations for a portable monitor for around $100 CAD that has the following: USB-C DP-Alt mode Charging host device through its 2nd USB-C port Decent brightness Great color accuracy 1080p or 1200p @ 60Hz Planning on making my Steam Deck as full-time laptop replacement. Also, the $100 requirement is with discounted price. If there are options out there that aren't on sale, I'd still like to hear all the same.

Hello Mates, I am looking for some recommendations from you for my next monitor. I am setting up some requirements so it will be easier for you to recommend. Usage: 1. Gaming mostly AAA RPG, FPS, RTS, Sports (FIFA), Racing and very less MOBA 2. Play from my PS4 Pro 3. Watching movies, web series 4. I sit close to the screen, and because of distance and space issues, I need a 24inch or 27inch monitor Present/Future capabilities: 1. I have a GTX 1060 6GB, I know its not enough for 2K gaming for the latest AAA games, but its acceptable with moderate settings based on some youtube reviews. 2. Also my target GPU GTX 3060 ti is now beyond acceptable price range, but some point of time it might be possible to buy one. Then 2K gaming would be easier 3. May be a PS5 upgrade sooner if the GPU market stays like this. Feature Requirements: 1. Either 24inch 1080p or 27inch 1440p (but not 27inch FHD) (16:9 not 21:9) Irrespective of screen size the below features are required: 2. VA or IPS (or OLED if possible in budget), not TN panel ( I dont like the strong Back Light Bleed or the IPS Glow, it should be well contained) 3. 1ms response (low GtG and MPRT values) 4. HDR required and 10bit color 5. High rated sRGB and DCI-P3 at 90% or higher for better HDR experience 6. 2 HDMI (2.0) ports and at least 1 DP ver 1.2 7. Variable Refresh Rate upto 144Hz (min 120Hz) 8. G-sync might not be possible at the price point, but Adaptive-sync or Freesync is acceptable as those are now compatible with GTX 10-series and above. 9. VESA wall mount Not Important but nice to have: 10. USB ports, 11. Curved screen 12. Might never use but won't complain if there are speakers. Budget: 1. For the 24inch FHD it is $300 or approx 20000 Indian Rupees 2. For the 27inch QHD it is max $400 or approx 28000 Indian Rupees Thanks in advance

Hi guys, i recently bought an XPS 13 9310, the FHD one, but i just noticed that only the 4K one has hdr certification. YET they both have the exact same nits (500), so my screen should support hdr without too much harm, so is it a way to force it ? And I also encounter a problem because I seemingly cant have my screen go all the way up to 60 hz ? like it just sets itself to 59,950 hz according to windows and if i change it directly from the display settings to 60, it will go back to 59 automatically, is it normal ?

Hi, I'm looking forward to buy a Thinkpad T14 used, I already have a good deal I'm keeping an eye on but it comes with a crappy TN panel 1366x768 however for the price I'm searching if a panel replacement is convenient. I want to change it with a FHD, maybe touch or not but at least FHD and from what I read somewhere else there are 3 choices of panels: FHD 250 nits, FHD 300 nits touch, FHD 400 nits low powered but it doesn't say how low. Anyway it's really difficult to find the display models compatible or I don't really know where to look for. I know www.panelook.com but I don't really know how to search. Could anyone head me in the right direction? Thanks.

I got the task, of picking a laptop for one of my relatives. And since he doesn't even have enough of a clue to come up with wishes of what should the laptop have I'm doing that as well xP. I'm not that familiar with laptops tho so I'd need a bit of help finding something with things described below. So this are the must haves: - 17inch IPS display with FHD resolution or better - Quad Core like i7 6700HQ or at least Dual Core i7 7500U - a decent keyboard with illumination (backlit) - must be above 500€ and under 1000€ (~800$) - 8GB of RAM - a decent build quality - Windows 10 preloaded - 2usb ports with at least one being 3.0 - can be bought in Europe - quiet operation on office tasks (up to 50% cpu load) - bluetooth Nice to haves (laptops that include this list can have dual core i5 6200U or better): - decent speakers - touchscreen - option to flip the screen 360°C to use as a "tablet" ( "2in1") - 120GB SSD + HDD or 240 GB SSD - eThernet port - CD/DVD reader with read and write functionality - known brand with 2 year warranty - 5Ghz wifi - good trackpad *qwertz keyboard layout (localized for Slovenian) - this is rare but it would help a lot (i'll search for availability of suggestions in local stores) I found this one but it doesn't have a backlit keyboard or SSD. I think that about covers it. Thank you for your help in advance

I have tried multiple different ways to do this but every time everything ends up blurry. Some background, I bought my 4k MSI Ghost Pro laptop because it was on sale over 50% from sales price, however the 4k is annoying. The screen is only 15" and therefore doesn't really utilize 4k very well. I play all my games in 1080p and every time I exit or tab out my display goes through convulsions and all my windows, especially Windows Explorer, get resized, it's very obnoxious. Some programs, like Sony Vegas, do not scale well at all either and I feel like having everything in 1080p would speed my computer up as well. Does anyone have any idea how to do this on W10 x64 without causing all the text, icons, etc. to be blurry? Thank you.

This happens when i was thinking if i have to spend money for a monitor, i ask to myself "should i get another monitor or just use the 40" TV in the living room?". And then the confusion still goes on, i know that TV doesn't say it's response time but is it affecting the experience of playing Racing games or first person shooting (PUBG)? Update:@Technicolors give me a link for the specs and things all about my TV. Thank you! http://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/samsung/j6300?uxtv=bd45

Hey guys, I am planning to get the Alienwear 17 R4, wondering how much difference FHD and UHD panels would make to the battery life and is it worth it!?

My sister and her husband want me to build a HTPC that will play movies and TV shows in 4K for them. Coincidentally, my grandmother wanted a new computer and I suggested a HTPC to her and she said that'd be good. I plan on giving her my old 1080p TV to go with it. The thing is I don't really know my about making/planning a relatively good HTPC so I came here for help. The only requirements are they both need to be Mini ITX and have a wireless mouse & keyboard, a Wi-Fi card or on-board Wi-Fi, an OS, and they'll both need a Blu-ray optical drive.

Hi all. I have an old Dell Inspiron 3458, God knows of what year it is. Anyway for what I need it's good enough but I want to see if I can upgrade the display to a FHD and max out the ram. I already upgraded it with a Samsung SSD and it works fairly good, so with the upgrades I have in mind I suppose it will be good enough. I just need to know if the iGPU supports 1920x1080 resolution. At the moment the resolution is set at 1366x768 at most. So far I think it does since I hooked it up to an external HDMI display and it outputs correctly at FHD, is this enough for me to confirm I can change the screen? In case it isn't enough I cannot find the exact model of the iGPU. The system Info just says "Intel HD Graphics". I'm sharing the screenshots if you can figure it out for me please. Thank you.

I'm currently looking for a display for an RTX 2060 (https://www.newegg.com/gigabyte-geforce-rtx-2060-gv-n2060gamingoc-pro-white-6gd/p/N82E16814932139). I'm aiming for 1080P at 144Hz and I would like to be able to use G-Sync with a FreeSync display, since they are cheaper. Any suggestions? Should I go higher than 1080P@144Hz? Thanks!

I've writted down long post, but possible information about monitor type of I choosing will helps not only me. Well, I'm choose Full HD 27" monitor for home/work/media purposes exclude games. For long hours work in a budget segment under 200-230$. I picked up on these models which are well reviewd and have ok and good reviews for theirs price and does not have critical negative feedbacks. All models with Flicker-Free tech. ALL LINKS TO MONITOR SPECIFICATIONS AT THE BOTTOM OF POST DELL: DELL SE2717H sRGB 95% Bright 300 Contrast 1000:1 Dynamic 8M:1 DELL SE2719H NTSC 72% Bright 300 Contrast 1000:1 Dynamic - SE2717H in many reviews mentioned as gamer monitor for FreeSync technology and 75Hz work available. Of course, it have IPS glow effect, may be little splashes on white background but it's relative and even with these effects many of people ranked it as 4 and 5 stars. Pretty beautiful look. Difference between this two models almost nothing. And despite on later marking (19 and 17) I think 17th would be better from this two (I heard sRGB for every day basic uses is slightly better). AOC'es: AOC I2775PQU (no gamut info) Bright 300 Contrast 1000:1 Dynamic 50M:1 AOC I2790VQ/BT 100% sRGB Bright 250 Contrast 1000:1 Dynamic 100M:1 Well welcomed monitors in reviews and feedbacks. Both are have vertical customization. We have pretty strong mediocre ASUS. ASUS VC279H sRGB 91% Bright 250 кд Contrast 1000:1 Dynamic 80M:1 Also I've found on some other monitor with lable DESIGNO MONITOR with extremely beautiful look. ASUS MX279HE sRGB 97.5% Contrast 1000:1 Dynamic 100M:1 Information about this model coming up in april 2018 so it's relatively new. Not many reviews on YouTube and internet, but it has very good reviews and feedback on little more expensive brother on this monitor, is ASUS MX279-H. Last is Philips, which is brand as I been heard has been sold to the asian company and if believe in gossiping they do not really do well with this brand in terms of quality. But I dont know well. Philips 273V7QDSB Bright 250 Contrast 1000:1 Dynamic 100M:1 Summary: I prefer to buy AOC'es , but which is one I dont know because of one have more brightless but another one have more dynamic contrast. In reviews they are much equal. I can buy DELL, but I heard some people really don't like DELL production. Also, for a exotic choose we have cheaper version (I believe so) of ASUS monitor which is labeled as DESIGNO MONITOR. Could you please me with some help on it? I do not ask you for make decision for me, but if you can recommence some of this models, or vice versa cut some models off it would be great. Or at least you can point me on what kind of version should I rely on choosing monitor. Hi, I was wondering if I am able to display 1080p signal on a 1366x768 monitor that I have. I don't want it to be an SSAA thing, but rather 1080p squished into 768p. I know some older 1080p 32" TVs did that to make the price of them cheaper, so I was wondering if there was some technology that allows me to do that. I would be using it for recording so I don't have to scale 768p up to 1080p which, in my opinion, doesn't have great quality. Also, I have an NVIDIA GT 1030 GPU.

As you can probably tell by the title, I made the mistake of buying a 15.6 inch laptop with a 4k display. My only defense is that I bought it through my school and, for the specs it has, it was a really good deal. Unfortunately the GTX 1060 Max-Q is not exactly optimal for gaming on said 4k display (yes I know that I can, and I do, drop the resolution in-game) but gaming issues aside, this is my main computer that I use for everything. The display scaling issues in programs (blurry text, incorrectly sized buttons, etc) has started giving me headaches. I have tried every display scaling solution that I could find and have not had any luck so I've moved on to drastic measures; Replacing the 4k display with a FHD display. (and since I'm doing that, might as well get a display with a higher refresh rate too) So, my questions are thus 1. Does anyone have any experience with display swapping a dell G5 (or G7, from what I understand they are similar in this aspect) 2. The display is currently connected to the integrated intel UHD graphics 630, if I downgrade the resolution of the display, will the intel card detect the lower native resolution or will it try to push 4k and start fires (figuratively speaking)? I would be immensely grateful for any help because, as an IT student, most of my homework is done on the computer and my laptop giving me headaches like this is just not an option. Thanks in advance!! Specs Dell G5 15 5587 16GB Ram i7-8750H cpu Monitor Hardware ID: MONITOR\AUO20EB Edit* Turns out the hardware id is useless. Here is the model number: B156ZAN02.0 The display uses a 40 pin eDP connector (4 lanes)

Ok. I am a noob. A big dumb noob, however.. I've done some research first. I haven't read yet that someone has successfully upgraded their dell 7577 screen from fhd 30 pin to uhd 40 pin. I'm reading a lot of it cannot be done with adaptors. But I've read a few forums where they say it can. However, you guys are smart. Is there anyway i can upgrade my fhd 30pin to mobo screen to 4k, or is the biggest upgrade i can do, the 120hz? I really want 4k. I want that extra room. Any help will be appreciated. I love this laptop. But i want it better!

Hey everyone, I need a laptop for university and have chosen the Dell XPS 15 9500. However, I need help deciding between the FHD screen and the UHD screen. I'm a computer science student so naturally I will be using programs such as Python and Java. On the side however, I will be watching movies, youtube videos, and playing a few light games on the laptop. Any advice would be much appreciated!

Hi,someone can give me advice about these monitors? Dell P2419H Acer Nitro VG240Ybmiix Both are ~24",FHD,~5ms,60/75 Hz,IPS Or there are any good monitors around 150 eu/170usd which have the same parameters,i want the best around this price i don't wanna regret it.I have an old LG 22" TN monitor still working but i get bored with the colours and the view angles so i would like to buy a new one and use that as a second monitor.I will use the new monitor with everyday usage +gaming(all kind of game),more Hz is always good,FHD because my gtx 950 cant handle 1440p,24" because i heard 27 is not enough sharp for FHD,IPS for the colours, moslty. And i heard about this ips glow, blacklight bleeding,i want to miss these if possible in this price.

Hello there, I'm looking for a new laptop and was thinking about buying a Lenovo ThinkPad x250, but there are some questions. For example, is it possible to change to a touchscreen, even if the model I get never had one? Is the touch feature just in the screen bezel? And How many drives can I fit in it, and what kind is supported? Is it possible to install a backlit keyboard? And how difficult would all that be? Thanks in Advance!

I am looking for a Non-Smart, 32" (inches), Full HD (1920x1080) Television because that is all my budget ($500) can handle right now. Please suggest the best one in this category... If there are any bigger sized TVs available, that are good for my price range, please suggest those too. Thanks! Location - INDIA
