Basically I modded my wii and bought a usb drive, and for about 2 weeks it worked fine but then it just acted like its corrupted out of the blue, windows detects it as broken and asks me to scan it, I've scanned it about 10 times and appearantly it has "no issues", and also whenever I get this error the drive goes bad and just doesnt get detected anymore.I've tried formatting it again and again [FAT32] but it just wont work.

I really screwed up. I was trying to clone my disk with Aomie partition assistant. Once it was cloned the clone wasn't recognised in BIOS. I tried to convert to GPT, but I converted the wrong disk. Which was my actual OS. I think where I originally fkd up is that I choose clone disk instead of migrate OS Disk 2 is what I'm trying to save. I convert the 1st partition back to Fat32 and it still won't be recognised in the BIOS So now I have 2 ssd's with unbootable OS's How to fix this?

I have a external USB hard drive (1 TB) and i need to uncompress a winrar file that's a bit more than 8gb but winrar says the FAT32 system doesn't support files larger than 4gb, This was a shock to me because yesterday i did some game transfering and i transferred GTA V and some other games that are larger than 4gb (compressed into a file like: NFSMW.rar) Following a youtube tutorial i've come to this: Microsoft Windows [Version 10.0.14393] (c) 2016 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved. C:\Users\User>chkdsk K: /f The type of the file system is FAT32. Chkdsk cannot run because the volume is in use by another process. Chkdsk may run if this volume is dismounted first. ALL OPENED HANDLES TO THIS VOLUME WOULD THEN BE INVALID. Would you like to force a dismount on this volume? (Y/N) y Volume dismounted. All opened handles to this volume are now invalid. Volume ADATA HV620 created 27.10.2015 19:27 Volume Serial Number is 1AFA-3A60 Windows is verifying files and folders... File and folder verification is complete. Windows has scanned the file system and found no problems. No further action is required. 976 521 376 KB total disk space. 293 216 KB in 71 hidden files. 1 190 848 KB in 36 723 folders. 842 698 208 KB in 501 584 files. 132 339 072 KB are available. 32 768 bytes in each allocation unit. 30 516 293 total allocation units on disk. 4 135 596 allocation units available on disk. C:\Users\User>convert K: /FS:Ntfs The type of the file system is FAT32. Enter current volume label for drive K: Now i'm stuck and don't know what to write there as the tutorial didn't specify.

I'll just very quickly sum up my issue. Long story short, I've been trying for months to boot into a Windows UEFI Bootable pendrive. Here's what I've done that should clearly allow it to boot no problem. -Used Rufus to make my bootable pendrive -Selected GPT, with UEFI (non csm) with Fat32 file format. -Disabled Secure Boot and Fast Boot on the PC that I'm going to boot my bootable UEFI Windows pendrive into. -Always downloaded the latest Windows 10 image from Microsoft site via Media Creation Tool. -Tried the same thing over 5 different laptops and desktops that does support UEFI. -Tried with 3 different pendrives; 1 runs in USB3.0 and 2 more that runs in USB2.0 Genuinely out of ideas on how to solve this issue. Much appreciated to anyone that can help me with it. Note: I do select both Architecture when prompted to download via the Media Creation Tool. Doubt it'll affect anything, but I'll just jot it down here in case it does make a difference. Edit: The error I always get is B1InitializeLibrary failed 0xC00000bb.

I want to put a 12.8GB File in a fat32 drive is it possible? i don't want to format my drive into NTFS Please help me

I get this when I try to reinstall Windows 10. The USB is in FAT32 and the partition is in NTSF (i think that how it's called) and this format works (it would take too long to explain how I know so just take my word). The Linux partition is on the same SSD as the Windows partition I want to use though. Any fixes or help?

I behold a Pioneer MVH-29BT in my mothers car. It didn't take me long to realize that the goddamn thing only supports FAT32 (and not NTFS). Later I read in the manual that it supports FAT12, FAT16 and FAT32. My first USB drive, a little older Transcend 2gb I was able to format to FAT32 and load with music and it worked completely normally. I soon choose I needed a bigger USB. I bought a Sandisk 3.0 USB of 64 GB and I am only able to format it to NTFS and exFAT. Now what my question is: NTFS obviously won't be read by the car radio, but if I format it to exFAT will it be able to read it? Sincerely, Doba

My 32gb pen drive is corrupt and I can't access the files inside. It is recognized by my pc but when i try to open it, it says that I should format it before I can use it. Is there any way i can repair it without formatting? I have tried "partition wizard" but I still couldn't access the files. What can i do?

Hey LTT, I had just cloned over my HDDs image to my new SSD and all the partitions came with it. So I downloaded EaseUS to try to format the SSD. There were some unused partitions that I deleted but I was left with three partitions: My C: drive (NTFS/GPT), my EFI System Partiton (FAT32, GPT ESP), and Unallocated Space. Right now there is only 175GB of space on my C: Drive and I want to add the 250GBs of unallocated space to it, but I can't expand the two partitions because the FAT32 partition is in the middle. I know how to do this with similar NTFS partitions in easeUS, just shrink and drag over, but I can't do that with the FAT32 partition. So how do I merge these two partitions if they aren't adjacent? Is there a free program that has this functionality (I don't want to have to pay for storage I already have)?

video bit rate Encoding for Fat32 File system
Strayan_Hades posted a topic in Programs, Apps and Websites
Hi, Lately I've being doing alot of encoding of media that only supports FAT32 file system which is annoying trying to keep the media under 4GB. Which I've achieved by using a video bitrate of 2500 and Mp3 Audio 320 (Yes, I don't use AAC due to horrible cracking/static but that's a whole different story) at full 1080p which I finally got a 3hour and 21minutes film at a file size of 3.96GB. But the downside to all of this are the "BLOCKS" or block artifacts due to the lower bitrate. (As seen in these screenshots) Video bitrate: of 2500 Blu ray: So is it worth even bothering with a FAT32 file system to watch your media on a non smart TV, because I understand that increasing the video bit rate will solve the block problem but will increase file size and get over 4GB file size. (Another thing to note is I don't want my kids scratching my blu ray discs, so hooking up a blu ray player isn't my solution.) Any other methods or settings for handbrake would be great. Cheers. -
This just came into my head.. If the PS3 only supports FAT32 then how come you can put a 500GB Hard drive in a PS3 since the max FAT32 supports is 32GB..?

Should I format into FAT or FAT32. It is an old drive so it's only 1/2 GB.

Long time PC user who switched over my personal computing to a Mac after engineering school. Been trying to decide on a backup solution and more importantly a file archive solution to keep a lot of old files and family data safe (mom isn't too tech savvy). Basically went with a Macbook Pro as my personal laptop in order to have the stability and reliability of a unix system without having to climb the Linux ladder. Recently ran into the issue while consolidating backups of having a mix of NTFS, FAT32 and Mac formatted drives in my box of storage media. I can use parallels and switch back and forth using my FAT32 partition but I want something compatible with both Windows and OSX, formatting all storage media in FAT32 being the simplest option from what I have seen. @Linus The only reason I'm not moving everything to the Mac formatting is because your youtube channel has inspired me to build a performance desktop for getting back into PC gaming, and hopefully some 3D modeling fun My Needs: - Total storage of around 6TB for photos and movies (so I don't have to scale for a year or so) - Mainly to be used as archive of files, - Compatible with Windows, Linux, and Mac Questions: Storage: 1) Are there any issues with formatting all storage media in FAT32 other than the individual file size limitation of 4gb, and less security than NTFS, and is this the best and most reliable solution. 2) How happy are you with the Gaming PC/NAS setup you guys built in your tech video, how user friendly is it for someone who has never built their own tower, and would you instead recommend a NAS solution that is prebuilt for better ease of use. Backup 3) Watched your video on the 3-2-1's of backups, if running a home NAS, what would you recommend for offsite storage (2 drives with RAID1?) 4) What company other than Dropbox would you recommend for a cloud storage solution. 5) Any good programs out there to check for file duplicates when sorting through several incomplete backups I've spent countless hours overthinking and researching this topic and at this point I figure you guys can cut through the fog faster than I can and help me get a solution done. Again I appreciate all the help and your channel has been crazy helpful in catching me up on a lot of the more recent computing trends.

Hello everyone. I bought a 64GB Lexar flashdrive a few months ago so I could back up my PS3 (as you need to plug in a FAT32 harddrive to do backups). I did the backup which went well and all, but then used it on a TV, as a recording USB. The television then formatted the drive to NTFS and now I don't know how to change it back. Any response would me much appreciated. Thanks

In the Disk Utility, there is an MS-DOS (FAT) Format. Is that the same as FAT32 and will I be able to use it on Windows? I plan on flashing a motherboard's BIOS so I need it to be formatted with FAT32

I have created a multiboot USB drive using YUMI (multiboot installer). On it, I have a variety of different bootable tools, including Ubuntu with a persistent file, Windows Vista/7/8 40-in-1 multi installer (so basically it is like a boot disk but for every version of windows between vista and 8), and a whole load of linux-based and probably linux-based diagnostic & recovery tools (memtest86+ etc). FAT32 would be the obvious file system for this, mainly due to its compatibility, but the file size limit of ~4GiB makes it impossible because the windows installer has a file which is 7.9GiB, and so doesn't work when I try to put it on FAT32. I have installed it on an NTFS formatted drive now (including updating to the latest version of ubuntu), but now it just restarts when I tell ubuntu to boot as a live usb. Is this an issue with my installation of ubuntu, or does it dislike being installed on NTFS. If that is the case, what file system would you suggest? Note: other bootable tools seem to be functioning, and the windows installer works.

Hi Guys, My hard disk drive has a problem. I can't access my internal hard disk drive and when I try to format the hdd windows says "Can't format M:". Another, every time I put my HDD on-board (put my HDD-SATA on my motherboard), it stays on POST and it takes 5-20 min. to boot on my OS. HDD Properties: Seagate Baracuda 320GB ST3320418AS Is my hard disk drive has an error or bad sector? Should I replace my HDD? Thanks and God Bless! #TeamPhilippines
