Hello. I have a Biostar H61MHV3 motherboard . It has 1 - 4 pin header for cpu fan and 1 - 3 pin header for case fan . I have 2 - 4 pin fans . Even after I disable PWM in the bios settings , case fan aways runs at full speed . I tried controlling the fan with Fan control app ( https://getfancontrol.com/ ) while PWM is off/on . The app says that case fan is not controllable . So i am wondering if I connect up both fans PWM cable together to the cpu header, what would be the concequences ? Will i have trouble with PWM after that ?

What are these fan headers (please see attached) i opened my case for the seasonal dust cleaning and i noticed my front fans were all daisy chained to each other with these to the psu. no wonder the mobo didnt detect them. And they dont fit into the mobo Cha_Fan headers!! Pls advice. Even if some splitters are the solution but again i have no idea what these headers are.

I just got all my parts and I am seconds from beginning my build however I need help deciding where everything will get plugged in. Let me set the stage in terms of equipment! Case: Lian Li 011 Dynamic EVO Motherboard: MSI z790 MPG Carbon WIFI Fans: 10 Lian Li 120mm Uni v2 Fans -I'm swapping 3x v1 fans on Radiator for V2 AIO: Lian Li 120 Galahad 360 My strategy: I want to utilize all of the Daisy Chain advantages that I can with v2; therefore, my end goal is to wind up not using ANY USB hubs and 1 single fan controller. I was going to Daisy Chain 3x Fans on the Radiator (set to exhaust) and utilize the cord that comes with Lian Li Univ2 Single Fan Boxes to plug them into the CPU_Fan Header (to allow CPU thermals to self regulate control). Then take the other side of that cable back into the controller SYNC 2 slot. (The controller has (2) JST 3 PIN ARGB Sync Ports labeled "SYNC 2 & SYNC 4). After that, I was going to install the AIO (which has 2 cables). I was going to plug the 3-pin JST into "SYNC 4 slot" on the Controller, and plug the other cable into the Motherboard AIO Pump Header. Then I was going to Daisy Chain (x3) Uni V2 Fans on the Side (set to intake) to (x3) Uni v2 Fans on the Bottom (set to intake). The Daisy Chain will be through the proprietary single cable for linking groups of V2 Fans. Then I was going to run a single cable from the bottom fan group to the Controller Port 1. Following that, I was going to install a SINGLE v2 fan on the REAR of the case set to Exhaust. I was going to use Lian Li's single cable and plug that fan into Port 2 on the controller. (At this point we are now occupying all of the 3-PIN JST ARGB SYNC ports on the controller (#2 & #4), and only 2 of the 4 ports on the controller using Lian Li's Proprietary Connector. Now I was going to run the controller to 2 seperate tails of SATA Power (to get maximum power from PSU) and plug the main USB 9-PIN into my USB 2.0 Header on the motherboard. Furthermore, I was ALSO going to plug the controller into the 3-PIN ARGB Header on the Motherboard and plug the 4pin connector into the Motherboard 4-PIN SYS_FAN Header. I believe this will give me the ability to SYNC all my Fans and devices to the Motherboard software and control them that was as well. (So I am not stuck just using L Connect 3 for everything). Here is where my question comes in, I just noticed my CASE has a 3-PIN female connector for RGB. Do I need to split one of my 3-PIN JST Sync connections and get that CASE RGB into my controller Port somehow using an adapter? Or should I just plug the case RGB into the Motherboard? Will I be able to control my CASE RGB only through Motherboard software? I'm curious what I should do. I'm good at making custom cables, so my thought was to create a Y-Cable that merges 2 of those JST connections, that way I can plug the case into a SYNC RGB port. However, if plugging it directly into the MOBO isn't an issue and it's controllable later in L-Connect due to the Controller being plugged into the MOBO, I won't even bother. Any advice, tweaks, suggestions is GREATLY appreciated here. I'm new to this community and I'm hoping somebody else who has built something similar can chime in and help. Thank you all!

The fans I'm using uses 12v - 0.16A apparently. Other components I'm using are: CPU: 11400 (65W) with stock cooler GPU: 1060 6GB (125W) RAM,: Ripjaws V 2x8GB 3200mhz (1.35V) SSD: 256GB (5V) I know you're not supposed to use more power for fans than the motherboard can provide, but according to techspot.com, the MSI B560M Pro can handle a package power of 125 watts which is already less than just the 11400 and 1060. Please help me understand this.

Hello everybody, I hope someone can spread some light on this for me, or atleast join me in feeling really confused comming into this little senario. Here goes. Building up and old PC for bedroom media center(Edit: Asus P7H55-M PRO with a Xeon X3470), found a nice case that demands some fans, but Mobo only has 2 headers, Cpu_fan and Sys_fan, both 4-pins. (has a 3-pin power header aswell, but let's forget that one) Letting the Cpu-cooler run on the Cpu header, I set out to find a fanhub to control the casefans (5 in total, all 4-pins) as I didn't wanna try my luck running all 5 fans on 1 header. I ordered a Thermaltake Commander FP 10 port PWM fanhub (nice of them to highlite no less than 2 times on the back that it's "Compatible with 3-pin fans" as well, when they further down on the box write in almost invisible small letters " *Speed control function is unavailable for 3-pin fans." GREAT compatibility!!! So, just running them 100%... -.-' ... but that's not what we're here for. I get the hub, set it up, connect all my fans, plug in SATA power, and connect the PWM signal cable to my Mobo' Sys_fan header... Everything starts up in 100% as expected untill speedfan loads, but only 1 fan(the nr.1 one that is also read to show RPM) is controlled by speedfan, the rest is at 100% blast. Speedfan showing 900RPM, and the nr.1 fan is correctly running around 900 RPM, but the rest is running wild. ?!? I Googled, and I found a post about the Sys_fan header maybe not being a PWM header, even tho it has 4 pins, but if that was true, why would it then control one fan at all. Everything worked perfectly before i got the hub when I had 3x 4-pin fans in a 3way splitter running on that header.. More Googling found a post about plugging the hub directly into the cpu header, and letting the bios handle it(really wanna have my cpu cooler running isolated, so this is not something I want to do unless I have to) Did that... speedfan won't do s*** to the cpu fancontrol, but the bios handles everything like a boss. Guess I'm running my systemfans on my cpu header, and my cpu cooler on my system header for now. Is this as it is supposed to be??

Hello everyone in this section. I'll go straight to the point. I am building my first computer right now, but there are some questions that I think I should ask, before doing some stupid stuff. So here we go... 1.So I've got the Corsair 750D case that comes with pre-installed 3 case fans (2 on the front and 1 on the back) these are the front ones: but I am not sure where exactly should I connect those 3 fans, since I have the AIO cooler - Corsair H115i. I've checked the motherboard's manual and there are 2 pin outs on the bottom of the mobo, where I've connected the front fans already (as you can see on the picture below) but there is another one that says SYS_PUMP. So can I connect the 3rd fan (the back of the case fan) to this header or this is particularly for the H115i's pump? This is the motherboard's scheme: 2.My second question is about the CPU's backplate. When I follow the instructions given in the H115i's manual it says to put the Intel Backplate on the back of the motherboard and then secure on the main side of the motherboard with the intel standoff screws. Ok. I am superworried about this, because the thermal paste might not spread as it should, which leads to temperature problems. No russian roulette with the CPU, you know... 3.Should this Intel Backplate have adhesive stuff on both sides? 4.Does it matter where I connect the case's USB3.0 cable to the motherboard? Because I have 2 usb3.0 headers from the motherboard?? (I've connected it to the first one already) 5.Does it matter where exactly I connect the cables to the PSU? I mean... as long as they are connected to the right section of the PSU its ok, right? Its not a problem, that I've connected the SATA cable (for example) to the 6th port, instead of the first one, right? I am really sorry if some pictures are kind of big.I am trying to build this computer asap.

What is the speed if i connect 2 fans to 1 fan header? if it's 600 rpm is the speed 2x600 or 2x300rpm?

Quick Question. I have a Frostflow 120. The frostflow have a 120Fan , a 120Rad and the cpublock. The 120Fan is a 4Pin fan header. The cpublock is a 3pin fan header. I bought a CoolerMaster Masterfan Pro 120 AirFlow, it came with a 4pin fan header. My motherboard has only two 4pin fan header labelled as cpu_fan and sys_fan. Can i actually put the cpublock into a 3pin fan header on my Thermaltake Commander FX, the 120Fan to the sys_fan , while the CM120AirFlow to the cpu_fan. Will the cpublock still function? Regards... Once upon a time there was an anxious young man who didn't let the system he had just built power down fully before he decided to indulge his curiosity and pull the pin from a fan header. Creating a bridge of electricity between the pin and the header, the header burned to a crisp. Whilst that was the worst of it, and the stupid noob(... ... ...me...) had learned his lesson, the unplanned discharge of electricity burned across one of the traces within the motherboard that lead away from the fan header and was consequently exposed. Here is the exposed motherboard trace. This happened about a year ago. As far as I can tell, the only damage is that I have one less fan header. So, has anyone else done something like this? Should I be worried about the exposed trace leading to bigger problems? Is there a safe way I can protect it? I've thought about using some sort of glue, paste, or even white out on it. Not so much for aesthetics(although that would be nice) but to be sure that prolonged exposure to air isn't going to lead to more drama down the road, especially since the area has already been cooked. Any suggestions/anecdotes/other thoughts are appreciated. Thanks.

The title pretty much says it all but basically I have a phanteks evolv atx case with three included fans and I have an nzxt kraken X61 aio cooler with two radiator fans. I recently bought an nzxt fan hub but I'm wondering if I should use it only for chassis fans or for all fans since cpu fans obviously operate differently than chassis fans. Is the hub able to tell the difference or would I be better off just leaving my cpu fans on the cpu header? Thanks!

I just upgraded my system to these configs: *Intel i7 4790k *Corsair H100i *650W psu Corsair *Nvidia Gigabyte G1 gaming 4GB DDR5 gtx 960 *Asus Z97A *16 giggs of Corsair Vengeance DDR3 *Thermaltake Chaser MK-I Basically, after setting it all up, I seem to be having one problem. At the store when they set it up everything including the fan led's were working great. and I set it up at home just now a few minutes ago and both the fans are running great, The front fan LED's working great as well but the side mesh panel fan which is another 200mm although working fine the led's not working somehow. The front fan LED's working fine but the side panel one isn't. Both are 200mm fan's btw. Tried different fan headers, still the same outcome so far. It's got a 3pin connector and connected to the bottom "CHA FAN 2" port on the motherboard. Where have I gone wrong? Because it was working fine on the store just a couple hours ago. Not a manufacturing problem, maybe a issue with my setup maybe? Help would be great guys, I adore you all.! Cheers.!
