So after reading the Steam forums, reviews, and official articles, I have come to a conclusion that the player-base for all games is nothing more than a pile of elephant shit these days. It's the same, now it sucks They changed it, now it sucks Unpleasable Fanbase Why fandom can't have nice things These are the things why video game designers are so goddamn frustrated with their player-base. It's like the players demand 1,001+ features at the same time in a game, or even move forward with a game franchise, or how "we are the greatest reviewers on Earth". They voiced their frustrations in every possible place possible (Including, but not limited to: blog posts and conferences). They're going "what the fuck! How can we make these people happy with our sequel of our (insert game) game?" DOOM is trying to compete with the more bigger titles like Battlefield and Call of Duty. This is not an easy feat at all. There is your older player-base who indeed played DOOM and DOOM II: Hell on Earth, and your newer generation player-base. Trying to make DOOM play out like the older DOOM games isn't going to cut it at all. So is trying to make it play out like the newer games. So the developers at id Software behind DOOM has to find their middle ground one way or the other. So they took the classic gun-play and added some modern appointments (such as mantling/vaulting, double-jumping, and the melee execution system known as 'Glory Kills' which you don't have to do. It's optional) to the game to bring it up to date. The sad truth is that both camps aren't going to be happy, and you can't please everyone whatsoever. It's been proven that if people try to please everyone, they simply will fall out of the spotlight, like authors retiring altogether. And this is why we, as fanboys of our favorite game franchises, can't have nice things, because we act like a bunch of salty, unruly 12 year old's. Right now as it stands, I am taking the side of the developers because they're the ones shouldering all of this unnecessary bullshit we have thrown at them. And this is why we, as fanboys of our favorite game franchises, are the ones at fault for the most part, because they try to improve the game by taking in our lame criticisms that's nothing short of bitching and whining. And at the end of the day, we still shit on them. What kind of logic is that? To me, it makes literally no sense whatsoever! We criticize the developers. They improved their game with our input. And we shit on them after the fact. This is a sad tale of why we, as fanboys of our favorite game franchises, don't get nice things at all. This generation's misbegotten player-base has gone to all Hell. That's all I have to say about it. The bottom line is if you want something nice, don't bitch and whine. How hard is that? If you're going to criticize, be: a) civil, b) rational, and above all, c) constructive! Criticism can only maintain its form. That is until it turns into nagging and ranting, which gets us nowhere at all. I do apologize if this came out far too scathing for your taste, but I just want to write this up on the current state of player bases in general, and how horrible they've become. I also wanted to voice my frustration with player's logic and reasoning for why they've become they way they are because, as a video game developer student, I have to face this too. Original Twitter Post Today Roy Taylor showed off Watch_Dogs 2 as being an AMD DX12 optimized Game, much to the relief of most PC Gamers. For those of us who remember Watch Dogs 1, and the horrible Gameworks implementation, we can take a relaxing breath, knowing that Watch_Dogs 2 is not going to be crippled by gameworks. Unfortunately, a sockpuppet by the name of Zme-ul attacked Roy Taylor, suggesting that Watch_Dogs 2 will be trading the blackbox API (aka Gamework) for AMD's Sh**. Roy Taylor was quick to respond that AMD's implementation of Pre-packaged visual effects was Open Source and completely transparent, but the Nvidia Sock Puppet was not satisfied, and replied: "yeah, and people are quite disappointed in your open drivers - open doesn't mean better." It isn't clear who "people" is yet, but more unprovoked social attacks are expected by Nvidia sockpuppets. So far, AMD has not had a bad driver since the HD7000 series era, but this will not stop the Nvidia Sockpuppets from doing their job.

Hello, This is my first post on the forum Okay so I have a quick question; I've been debating on getting the i3 4160 or the fx 6300, from what I've gathered is that the i3 does better in most game with a few exceptions (bf4 etc) the fx 6300 beats them. I've heard this line for about 4 years: "Games in the future with be utilizing more cores," now this may be true in some cases, but I still don't see it happening. Alright, now for what I'm going to be doing on this PC, I've ordered the following parts: Sapphire r9 270x dual-x 2gb OC edition 1 TB WD hard drive 7200 rpm Bitfenix comrade tower Evga 500w PSU, I've held off on buying the motherboard and the cpu because obviously I can't make a decision. I'm usually ONLY going to be gaming on this rig besides maybe using Blender sometimes, I'll be playing Battlefield, Arma, Dayz SA, CSGO. I don't see myself playing any MMO's really, unless it seems very interesting. So yeah, what would YOU guys recommend me getting? I've heard both pros and cons but still haven't heard a clear winner. Need help with an upgrade for a nvidia fanboy. Current specs are 500 watt PSU and 560 (ti) Price all up needs to be below $500 aus. He needs a GPU and a PSU. (needs a PSU because the one he has is a no name piece of shit) Gaming is the main use (monitor is 1600xsomething, will go up to 1080p soon though). Going to need to last a while. He is a blatant fanboy as he doesn't know much about tech. soo i went with this http://www.pccasegear.com/sc/efG but it isn't exactly a great card for new games, sure it's a decent card, but won't hold up that well to say, TW3. I was thinking a 770 but I can't find one that cheap. Any ideas on how to convince him that AMD cards are fine, or a build that is a bit more (get ready for the cringe) ***future proof***

I know little of AMD card besides the fact that AMD have mantle. Watercooling and overclocking - I would ideally want a card from a manufacturer that doesn't void your warranty for watercooling I may or may not do this but give me some suggestions for the best cards that fit in this category 2. I want to play very demanding games like battlefield 4, Crysis and the even more demanding: Minecraft. I hope to also play at for 4K (at some point in the future). ...Point being that I want a decent graphics card that you can throw lots at without it slowing down. I don't know anything about AMD cards, so tell me about the best series in the list that are like the gtx 770 - in performance and 5h!7 I obviously won't take the first card which you guys recommend, but would like some perspective from someone who knows something about AMD cards. Oh and I'll have an i5 haswell refresh, probably overclocked as well so don't worry about the card being bottlenecked by my cpu. And while I remember: 3. I'd prefer it if I don't spend too many £100s because an MSI gtx770 4gb is less than £300 and I'm considering AMD in case I can get a similar performing card for a cheaper price.
