Hi, not sure if the is the right place to post this so here: I recently ordered a pc, just realized that the Gigabyte B760 Gaming X ddr4 has 3 Fan Headers, whilst teh NZXT H5 Flow RGB has 4 fans... So I'm feeling bittersweet now that I have "built" my first computer. The truly hard part is over and after getting everything together and booting it all up it seemed fine for the most part. What I didn't understand was filled in by close friends and I think it turned out pretty decent. The one issue I had out of all of it was making sure all the fans were slotted properly onto their respective headers and are actively talking to the rest of the parts. While in some cases it doesn't matter which header some miscellaneous fans go to it does in fact ask for certain things to be in correct areas. I went with the y60 for this build and for a first time builder who gushed on some of the parts ( i have been limited to pretty poor hardware over the years for a few reasons but since I had the means I went all out), I'm finding the layout to be a bit tricky with some of the cables. I ordered 3 corsair fans for the intake and exhaust, I didn't change the stock floor fans and the aio is from nzxt. The stock cables I set to the 100% non controlled headers, and the rgb ones went to their hubs and funneled into sata cables and 2.0 usb connectors respectively. Everything works to my knowledge albeit a bit of jank but the aio seems to be in a "lights are on but nobody is home" sort of state. The little 3 hole cable is in the aio pump socket directly above the asus hexadecimal display and while its on and registering 31-33 regularly the system is running very hot. The display on the mobo climbs to high 80s and in some cases to 90. The aio is not being read, nor are its fans changing in speed to my knowledge, but their rgb features are able to be changed. I have tried putting the aios 3 pin cord into the cpu opt to try and see if anything would happen but no joy. I have since returned it to its aio dedicated slot (one pin hangs out i dont know if thats bad or not) and changed the bios to be set to DC and set it on 100%. It floats what I believe to be arbitrary numbers at me since nothing seems to have changed and i still dont have proper reads coming through. I'm hoping all of this can be solved by some cable fenagling but if not I can cross the bridge of dealing with my cable management choices in the back when we get there. I know everything is hooked in despite it looking like a mess. (Edit Now the cpu light is on even tho something is plugged into that header) IMG_3321.mov

Hello, recently my Aorus AX370-Gaming 5 board died, so I had to replace it with Aorus X570 Elite. Everything works fine, except there's a shortage of fan headers. While AX370 had plenty of free fan headers, it's a bit different story with X570 Elite. I have 7 fans mounted in my case....3 frontal fans (Arctic F12 Silent 3-pin), 1 system fan, 1 cpu fan & 2 fans (Arctic F14 Silent 3-pin) in the middle for exhaust. Checking the manual & the board itself, there's 1 CPU fan header, 2 system fan headers & there's also one listed as CPU_OPT. So as it stands for now, I have only connected my CPU & System fan, I was planning to use fan splitter to connect the remaining fans to the one free SYS FAN header, but is it safe to do it? Also, would it be possible to connect fans to the CPU_OPT header or is that reserved only for water cooling? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

GIGABYTE X470 AORUS ULTRA GAMING X470 has 8 fan headers. If I need 2 more case fans, and I've used all 8 fan headers, is there a way to expand and add 2 more fan headers for some kind of splitter or circuit board that I am unaware of? Help and thanks?

Hi there, I had an old prebuilt lying around so i decided to take it apart and do a case swap and some upgrades. But the problem i've come across is that there are no fan headers on the motherboard from what i can see. This is my first time doing this so i am a bit lost. Am i wrong about no fan headers being on the motherboard or not? If im correct what could i do to get the fans working with that motherboard? Here are the specs: Name : Acer Extensa M2610 CPU : i3 4th gen (cant remember exactly which model of the i3 it is but i know for sure its a 4th gen) RAM : 4GB at 1600mhz MOBO : Acer H81H3 AM V1 New Case : Corsair 220T comes with 3 SP120 RGB fans (planning on getting 3 more of the same ones) download.jfif download (1).jfif

Howdy there good peeps of LTT My mobo (MSI B450M-A PRO MAX) only have 2 fan headers, One of them is used by the CPU cooler and on the Second on I currently running a splitter cable through which I can connect all of fans but the issue is that I can't control there speed this way. In BOIS or through MSI software that shows up as only two fans connected. What I want is a solution through which I can plug all 5 fans in but still be able to control my fan speeds individually. The catch is the budget. I know that corsair makes an hub called Commander Pro XT but it's $50 and I am not sure if the mix match of fans that I have will work with that but it's out of question as I am not gonna spend $50 on that alone. What I want from you guys is advice in finding a hub that is a solid good reliable product but is cheap (As cheap as possible without compromising quality) and a good bundle of five 120mm fans that are quite and will work with the hub. OR I am not sure that product like this paired with any fan hub (I don't know which hub can be used with these) Will give me the option to individually tune each fan through software like "Fan Control" and if they do Please do let me know of a reasonably good brand that have a bundle like that. I don't want nor care about any RGB whatsoever so this will help lowering the price too. Would highly appreciate if you could recommend me products (preferably with links) that will work together and give me the ability to control each fan. Build info: CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600G RAM: Lexar 16GB 1600mhz Mobo: MSI B450M-A PRO MAX (m-ATX) GPU: GIGABYTE GTX 1660 Super (3 fan variant) PSU: Corsair CX750M CPU Cooler: Cooler masters HYPER H411R Have 1 samsung SDD and 3 WD HDD in future will add a nvme Case: Corsair Spec 01 Fans are a mix of brands but all are the same RPM voltage and amps

Hi everyone! So I have a tecware flatline mesh case (https://www.tecware.co/flatline). It comes with 4 - 3pin/molex 120mm case fans and I'm going to put an Asus prime h610m-k (https://www.asus.com/latin/motherboards-components/motherboards/prime/prime-h610m-k-d4) inside. The thing is, the mobo only has 1 chasis header apart from the CPU one, so it's 2 headers for 4 fans and an Intel stock cooler. I was thinking about splitting the chassis's header into 3 and connecting the fourth one(the rear one) with molex (5v so it's not too loud?). I could also buy a hub, but can it control the speed of the fans? How would you go about it? Thanks!!

I bought new coolermaster 3in1 master fans 120 rgb, included rgb controler. i have coolermaster liquidcooler 240 RGB and it came with (1 to 2) fan splitter and bout fans are connected to one fan header and its working completely fine. but know i got 3 extra fans but it didn’t include the 1 to 2 fan splitter, so I cant connect all 3 to the motherboard because motherboard only has 4 fan headers (msi b450m mortar) so one header for the pump, one for the two fans on the cooler(with the splitter), and now i have only 2 headers and 3 fans what do u guys think? Should I use another splitter? Its gonna fry my fans or its gonna be okay if i connect 2 with a splitter and 1 without?

I bought a Corsair H150i Pro RGB a few days ago, and got it on Thursday, only to find that the frame was bent so much that I couldnt screw it into my PC case. I ordered a replacement from Amazon, and it just arrived a few hours ago. When going to install it just now, I noticed that the 3pin fan header coming from the pump only had one wire, instead of the 2 wires that were on the one I'm sending back. Can anyone explain this?

Specs: CPU: Intel i3-8100 GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 1050 Motherboard: GigaByte B360M DS3H PSU: Seasonic S12II 520w Bronze HDD: Seagate BarraCuda 2TB 3.5 in, 500gb Dell (came with original Dell OptiPlex 790) I had originally gotten a Dell OptiPlex 790 Mid-Tower with different hardware components inside. I replaced all of them over time and got better parts. I'm planning on getting a new case next to put all my parts in. However, I'm not sure how to check if my motherboard fan headers can be split to supply all my fans. My motherboard has 3 fan headers. I will have 5 fans total: 1 CPU fan, 4 case fans (3 in the front, 1 in the rear). I am looking at this case currently: https://www.amazon.com/Rosewill-Computer-Tempered-Cooling-Management/dp/B07J63FBZJ/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=rosewill+v500&qid=1574113405&s=electronics&sr=1-1 Thanks in advance for the help.

I want THIS MOBO (MSI- H310M Arctic) but....it only has 2 fan headers. Can I run 3 fans off that sys_header and plug the AIO pump into the CPU_header? Or can I run an AIO off a splitter into the cpu header?

Does anybody know how many volts and amps that a 3/4 fan-header can put out? I want to control 6 Corsair fans without using a commander pro.

Hi So I´ve got this old HP Z400 motherboard which has these 4 pin fan headers. I would like to be able to use my corsair fans which only require 3 pins. If I connected my corsair fan to only 3 of the pins on the fan header would it work? Now..It doesn´t fit because of the "hasp" to the right of the pins, could I remove that and plug my 3 pin fan in? Many thanks!

This may seem kinda weird, but should the water cooler pump fan header be plugged into the CPU cooler fan header or the system fan header? Same question for the fan on the radiator. Thanks!

Hello! I just got the mobo in the title for my black-and-white build (sort of. Kind of a re-build, really). The problem is that I can't, for the life of me, find out which of the fan headers on the board are PWM and which are not. They are ALL 4-pin. Does anyone have any experience with it and could help? Thanks! Also, I have a white Phanteks Enthoo Pro to go with it and I can't decide whether to use the included fan hub or not...

oke so i have some fans out of an apple mac pro from like 2009. so i was wondering the fans have 4-pin connectors but they are not excactly the same(see picture, right is apple fan header left is normal fan header) is it possible to use the apple fan on my normal atx motherboard with a 4-pin connection?

The gigabyte website said that this motherboard has 4 system fan headers, 1 CPU fan header, and a CPU opt. Are all of these 4-pin or 3-pin? Thanks

Not enough fan headers, too many fans- I need your help. I've been running my PC for a while and I love it so damn much but! It's kinda of loud, nothing unbearable just I'd prefer it to be more quite. I have a problem however, my Gigabyte MicroAtx motherboard (GA-Z97M-DS3H) only has two fan headers and I have four fan plus another for my CPU Pump (H100i). Two of the fans are Corsair SP120's Quite Edition, the other two are AF140's. I wanted to know if with a splitter if it would be possible to run 3 fans off one header (preferably the CPU header for the h100i and the two fans on it) and the other two fans off the other fan header. Once again thank you so much! (GIGABYTE GA-Z97M-DS3H)

I'm working on my getting my first build together, so work with me if I seem inexperienced. I'm thinking about buying an Asus Z97-C motherboard. Unfortunately this board only has four fan headers. However, I want to install five to six fans in my case. Is using fan splitters on a motherboard fan-header ok? As I understand the two fans on the splitter will run at the same speed lacking individual control, but I'm not certain of what else will change by using a splitter if using a splitter is even ok. My plan is to have five fans using a splitter for my two radiator fans (all on my motherboards four headers) since radiator fans should probably run at the same speed as each other anyway.

Hi, I've seen mixed messages as far as which fan headers I should plug devices into. Right now, I have the actual pump plugged into a CHA_FAN header, and the two radiator fans (placed as output) plugged into CPU_FAN and CPU_OPT. Do you guys think this is right? or should I use a different configuration? Thanks!
