Please help me i dont know what this is it conects all of the fans from the case they came like this with the case they are coneced to this block thing and idk what to do with it is it a psu thing need to conect to psu for power is it for motherboard?

I am building my second pc, this time I want to squeeze out as much performance out of it as possible. This means optimal fan config. Here is the parts list, https://pcpartpicker.com/list/gdQKyK (i did not pay $1000 for the gpu, bought it used for $270, planning to upgrade to 5070 when it releases). I don't know a lot about fan config, but I know that it can help with optimising performance, even if its only for 5fps more. I might buy more fans if that is ABSOLUTELY neccessary. :)

Original thread: tl;dr 5700X w/ 240 AIO, Zotac RTX 2070 Super Mini, in a Lian Li 205 case (solid front panel) CPU runs 65-70+C and GPU runs over 85C during 1440p/165 gaming. inb4 *The AIO was Powerspec's choice, not mine; I know it's way overkill for a non-OC'd 5th gen Ryzen 7. *I also realize 1440p/165 is probably a big ask for a 2070 Super; I limit FPS in-game frequently to 120-144 to keep the GPU from wanting to take flight or melt. Looking for any recommendations for: 1. sub-$100USD tower cooler (preferably sub-$60USD)? I'm leaning toward a Deep Cool AG400, Thermaltake UX200, or maybe Cooler Master Hyper 212. --This is happening ASAP. My AIO has developed a tick in the pump at full bore recently; I've bumped the pump curve down which helped, but I don't like that noise at all. 2. fan config? I'll have 2 fans at my disposal after I replace the AIO. I plan to put 1 in the rear to help throughput. --Other fan in the top rear maybe? Leave it out for positive case pressure? --There's 2 fans in the front pulling in as much as they can suck through the 205's side vents. 3. case recommendations? My Powerspec warranty is either up or close enough, so I'm not married to the 205 anymore. This'll be a little further down the road. --mid-tower ATX on the cheap-ish. I'm thinking the Lian Li 205 Mesh Type C or Lancool II Mesh, Corsair 4000D Airflow, or NZXT H5 Flow. Anything helps. Thanks, everyone!

Hi everyone As the title states im wondering what the best fan configuration would be for the Lian Li O11 Dynamic Mini. The case will be filled with 9 fans in total. Its worth noting that in the top, there will be a 360mm AIO. I'll be running the case in a 5-slot config, with a mATX motherboard, and a 3 faned GPU. For refernece the case can fit 3x120mm fans at the top, 3x120mm at the bottom, 2x120mm or 2x140mm at the side and 1x120mm at the back. I've attached a screenshot of the case, and maybe it'll be easier to visualize how the case is layed out. I might be modding the front tempered glass panel with a mesh-like panel that'll support 2x120mm or 2x140mm for better airflow. Would the be ideal for better temperatures, or should i stick with original tempered glass panel? The mockup for the front panel mod, doesn't look bad vs the original panel, so it'll purely be for better temperatures.

Hi, I am going to be air cooling in the Lian Li o11 mini using a nhd15 for a 5900x and the gpu will be the rtx 3070. Could anybody recommend a fan config for the case? I currently have a pack of QL120mm fans and am looking to buy some more to finish the build. Thanks for the help, Stay safe, Lex

GOAL: Budget 1080p/720p gaming PC for 14 year old kid with reasonable upgrade path. QUESTION: Hi. I am helping a friend to build budget gaming PC for her little brother. We are using mostly used parts. I have build several low budget PCs before but I am curious about fan configuration on this one. We are using mATX case with power suply mounting up above motherboard. There are two mounting places on the case for fans, 120mm front with mesh, 92mm at the back. Now, considering the specs I provide down in this post, do you think it would make sense to use both front and back fans as intake, and use the power suply to push out all the hot air up? Or is it safer to use more common configuration with front fan in and back out? I will not be able to test it out myself, since my friend wants to try it on her own and she's on the other side of the country. She did few modifications on her PC so she's not completely unaware but I would rather not make her to run CPU temperature tests or to somehow measure temps inside the power supply. I have already decided on the parts(also I'm working with second hand market here, so I can't exactly go all out) so please don't try to suggest something else unless you see some really big problem. I am only curious about the fan config. I currently have this rig, it's Ryzen 9 5900x with an EVGA RTX 3080 FTW3 with a Noctua NH-U12S chromax. The case is a Corsair Carbide 275R. The three fans in the front are configured as intake, while the top and rear fan are configured as exhaust. I'm currently idling at around 55°C to low 60s. My question is that, is this the correct fan configuration for this case? Thanks.

i have antec nx200 case. its has closed front and grill on top and back. i made small slits in the front pannel to help a little with airflow. i have three fans. can anyone recommend what fan config should i do to get optimum airflow.

Hello because I have an am4 motherboard and the be quiet pure rock CPU cooler I can only install it with the fan facing upwards or downwards because it sits on the stock motherboard stands. My question is because I have 3 fans should I put 2 infront and 1 in back or 2 infront or 1 on top to have the top fan pull the hot air out?

Hey all, About to build and I'm wondering how I should set up my fans in the 460X. I have a Kraken X52 and was wondering if I should top mount it (so two intakes on the top, three in the front and one exhaust in the back) or front mount it and shuffle around the pre installed front fans. What do you think is most optimal?

So since I've installed my Kraken X62 in S340 Elite on the front intake, I started to see more and more dust inside my case. I've seen Jayz's video about using incense and checking for negative airflow. Turns out I've got a negative pressure! (what a surprise...) My current airflow set up is this: Currently the front dust filter and push config limit my intake while exhaust fans are unobstructed an pump out a lot of air. This creates negative pressure unless I ramp up front intake fans to 95-100% even with exhaust fans on very low RPMs. I was thinking of buying dust filters for top & rear and completely reversing the airflow (without the front dust filter then ofc) - just like this: I can't add 1 or 2 more fans to make push-pull because of the cable management bracket (I've already had to remove it once). Nor I can use a 140mm to 120mm converter on the bottom of the radiator because of my 1060 Strix which is long af. Also I've read that it wouldn't help with my negative pressure as it would just push same air that is being delivered by intake but with more pressure (could help the GPU tho). So then, would reversing the airflow hurt? I'm mostly concerned about GPU, but seeing that it doesn't get much air from intake it shouldn't be hurt. Or maybe you have some other ideas?

Hi to all members, I am planning to build a new rig with Corsair 460X NON RGB being the chassis. I live in Delhi, where summer temps reach 46-47 deg C during peak summer months (May-Aug-ish). I wish to use ASUS Aura Sync compatible fans which right now only seem to be Cooler Master RGB fans having 3 type : Air Pressure, Air Flow & Air Balance. Since the case has 6 slots, which ones should be put in the front as intakes, and which ones should be put at the top and the back, and in which config (intake/exhaust)? Will positive air pressure be better or a balanced air flow should be more suitable (3 intakes, 3 exhausts)? Please help me clear this confusion..Thank you!
