Replacing my Ryzen 5 1600 with a 3700X that I bought from a friend, who was also helping me install it (he's more knowledgeable than I). With the 3700x in the CPU and DRAM ez debug lights come on and it doesn't boot. Swapping back it works fine. We confirmed (via MSI's website) and updated to the bios to the latest version and everything I can find says it should work. Tried: * reseating the 3700x * booting with a single ram stick, trying both by themselves * reset the bios with the JBAT1 This happened a few days ago so there's probably a few more things we tried that I'm not remembering too. Any suggestions on what might be happening and how to resolve it? Hey all, I just managed too build my first PC, however it does not seem to boot. I have a z790 msi pro wifi motherboard which gives ez debug lights. For me, the boot light lighted, which means something was up with a ssd. i only have one storage thingy in my pc which is a samsung 970 evo 2tb nvme ssd, and I put it in the first slot (cpu slot according to mobo. I reinstalled it but it still gave the light. After this I installed it in the 3rd nvme slot (Pcie slot) and now the boot light was gone, however still no booting. The nvme ssd also doesnt show up in the bios as booting option, is it even possible to boot with nvme ssd or do I need to buy a sata ssd for booting. Please help me, see pictures for references. I changed booting order also now to usb (I have a usb c stick of 16gb) but this also has no success. The bios just keeps starting over and over again after exiting specs: Msi Z790 Pro wifi ddr4 Corsair vengeance rgb ddr4 3600mhz Msi pcie5 psu 850W Lian Li AiO Galahad 360 Intel i5 13600k Msi ventus 3060

Good Morning, Recently I ran into an issue with my desktop PC of where the VGA light is on and is (now) preventing boot. 2 weeks ago I noticed a VGA light and about a 4-5 minute boot time. I figured, "Oh, it must be drivers" so I updated my drivers and still the same issue. I ignored it and lived with the 5 minute boot for about a week. I went out of town a few days later and when I returned the VGA light is always on, prevents boot and no screen output with NO ability to get to BIOS. I ventured on my own troubleshooting steps. - Drivers - Updates - BIOS Update - Removal of GPU, Cleaning, and Re-Installation - CMOS Reset - NVME Removal - Verified GPU works in another rig - Used a different known good boot drive When I removed my NVME drive I was able to enter BIOS with the GPU installed. I moved the NVME drive into another slot and was able to see a message saying "SAMSUNG 970EVO500GB NOT_FOUND" or similar, I put it back into its original slot and ran back into the issues. I got a Windows Error of "0x00000e" then it would enter a boot loop with the NVME installed in Slot 1 instead of Slot 0 I bought a new NVME SSD (970 EVO+ 1TB) that I verified works with an image of Win 10. Still nothing, I'm truly at a loss and looking for any help. Hey, y'all So, I recently purchased a SKHynix P31 500 gig NVMe drive. Went to install it the other day, and now my PC freezes on boot up. I have a MSI X470 Gaming Pro Carbon, GTX 1070ti Armor. The EZ Debug lights light up on VGA when the drive is installed. Won't even let me enter BIOS. Everything goes back to normal however when I remove it. Any tech tips?

MSI MPG B550 Gaming Plus Ryzen 5 3200 32Gb Corsair Vengeance RGB (2x16Gb DIMMs) XFX R9 390 8Gb Samsung 1Tb M.2 SS (also a couple other 1&2 Tb Hdd's and SSD's) Thermaltake 700W Smart Series PSU My computer just took a crap. I built it about 6 months ago, and everything has been fine, until now. I was playing Just Cause 4 today, and the game froze, so I rebooted. When it came back up it took a looooooooooooong time to boot, like 5+ minutes. It normally boots up in a few seconds. When it got to windows, it told me that windows could not be started, and needed to be repaired. I assumed this was due to the recent update I've heard so much about lately. So I put in my recovery usb stick, and it took several minutes to load up. When it finally loaded up, it came to a purple screen with a mouse cursor, and nothing else. I powered it down, removed the RAM sticks and CMOS and tried one RAM stick at a time, then both in various slots and configurations. Both RAM sticks worked, but the pc took 2-3 minutes to POST every time. The EZ-Debug DRAM LED turns white and stays white for 2-3 minutes, sometimes even as long as 5-7 minutes, before the post screen shows up on my monitor. The LED goes off, and the MSI POST screen shows up, and the LED doesn't come back on until the next boot. I've checked the bios and verified the correct speed RAM is selected, and run MSI's onboard diagnostics, everything passes all the tests. I've tried booting into a couple different utilities like medicat and HBCD, none of them actually boot all the way up. I'm currently trying a freshly created windows recovery disk, and have been watching the circles spin for about 15-20 minutes, while typing this. But that's as far as I ever get. Nothing ever actually loads, no matter what I'm trying to boot into.

Problem: Went to turn on PC. All fans, and lights are on. No signal to monitor.(Checked cable with console, cable does works) MB is throwing a CPU debug light. Background: Built PC 4 month ago. Had no hiccups with flashing BIOS and updating drivers, since I built my machine. Usually keep my PC in sleep mode over night. Symptoms: When PC would not produce a signal to monitor. Notice CPU debug light. Check CPU 8-Pin. Notice pin 1 on my PSU cable extensions must of unseated over night. Treatments: - Took out CE (Cable extension), used PSU cable. Restarted system. CPU debug light. - Reset CMOS: Unplugged PSU from wall. Took out CMOS battery. Held power button for 10-15 seconds. Plug things back together. Restarted system. CPU debug light. - Reseated all PSU cables from PSU. Reseat all PSU cables from hardware, expect SDD. Restarted system. CPU debug light. - Changed to a different CPU pin on PSU. CPU1 -> CPU2. Restarted system. CPU debug light. - Reseated both RAM stick. Restarted system. CPU debug light. - Restarted system with just one RAM stick, then tested with other RAM stick. CPU debug light for each. - Reseated GPU out of desperation. Restarted system. CPU debug light. Future Treatments: - BIOS Flashback - Breadboarding it with a friend Personal Diagnosis: - PSU cable extensions bricked CPU and/or MB - PSU is faulty on CPU output plugs. Specs: CPU: Ryzen 7 3700X MB: Tomahawk B450 Max RAM: 2 x Corsair Vengeance DDR4 3600MHz 8GBs GPU: Nivida GeForce RTX 3060TI PSU: EVGA SuperNova 650+ G+ 80+ Gold, Fully Modular CABLE EXTENSIONS: Asian Horse STORAGE: TForce Vulcan 500GB SDD CASE: Corsair 4000D Airflow. BOIS: XMP turned one, RAM speed set to 3600MHz. No overclocking except XMP. Any suggestion on what I do next? Or did that single unseated cable extension pin brink my CPU and/or MB when I went to turn on my PC a few days ago? Thanks!

Full build: MSI MPG X570 Pro Carbon Wifi AMD Ryzen 5 3600 16GB G.Skill Trident Z Cl16 Asus GTX Strix 1080 Intel 660p 512 Kraken 52X AIO EVGA SuperNOVA 650 G3 80+ Gold I have a year old MSI MPG X570 Pro Carbon Wifi mother board on my second PC that I am trying to sell. I swapped some better parts from it to my main rig. The part being mobo it meant that I had to tear down two desktops and put them together again in new configurations. My main PC worked like a charm, but when I tried week later boot the one when I found a buyer I ran in to problems. I had the computer ready (I didn't post it on a box I know...) I flipped the switch and pushed powerbutton and... nothing. All the lights and leds (memory, GPU, Kraken) lit up, but no boot screen or anything. I had latest bios and WIN10 USB on a computer. There was a disturbing stench of burning electronics... Power button was unresponsive and I flipped the PSU switch. EZ debug LEDs were dark After this nothing happened ever again. Only one white led on GTX1080 strix. MoBo is dark. Memory is dark. Kraken is dark. My mood is dark. After some Googling I figured that most likely problems would be with PSU or MoBo. So what I have tried sofar: Cmos reset Tried flashing bios (I didn't get to bios) Re-socket CPU Another PSU (same modular cords, different PSU) Tried to post on a box without GPU (yeah... getting desperate here...) Re-socketed again and bent one pin a little... Getting desperate, time to ask for a help... So do you guys in the Internet think that the MoBo is toast or what? Any help is appreciated. Cheers

Hi, I just finished my new build, going from I5 7600K to Ryzen 5 7600x (guess I like the 7600). I noticed that the boot sequence is very long every time and found out that the ez debug led are on (both cpu and ram) then turn off after around 45 seconds and the PC boot into windows like if nothing happened. Is it normal ? Is anyone having this kind of behavior ? Hello i have recently purchased a msi Z370-A PRO motherboard... The board had 4 debug lights (CPU, RAM, VGA, BOOT) when i plugged in the board using the 24pin cable with no components installed, the RGB lights turned on and just the EZ debug light was on for the cpu, not for anything other... However, when i plugged in the cpu, the light remained on... is this a concern? the ram has not turned up in the post yet, so i cant test it with that... Also, is the 8pin CPU power 1 connector at the top of the board needed? I am using an 8th gen intel core i5... Many thanks, Ben

Hi, trying to setup a new AMD TR2 2990wx build. I have never gotten it to POST. I've never been in the BIOS or installed an OS. I have double checked all power cables, flashed the newest bios, reset CMOS, tried reseating ram in dozens of configurations, but still can't POST. There's a hex display that gets stuck on C0 which is undocumented in the manual. The EZDebug LEDs show CPU for maybe 5 seconds then get stuck on DRAM. Is there anything left to try besides ripping everything apart to reseat CPU or RMA it? I spent several hours carefully building so I really don't want to do those Motherboard: MSI X399 GAMING PRO CARBON AC CPU: AMD TR2 2990wx Memory: 4x8GB 3200 G.Skill F4-3200C14D-16GTZSK GPU: Nvidia GTX 770 PSU: EVGA 1000w Other: An M.2 drive and 5 SATA drives.

Okay I put my build together today, and was having issues with the CPU light being on in the ez debug, wouldn’t post or get to bios. After switching the wires for the pump, and cooler fans the cpu light went away, but a different problem arose, the DRAM light came on after it cycled past CPU. I’ve tried switching ram slots, using just one stick of ram. And I have come up empty handed and out of ideas. Everything else seems to be working. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
