Needing more horsepower for some research I'm working on currently, I started planning a build since my poor Surface Pro could no longer cut it, I also needed to be mobile all the time and so opted for a SFF build. I came across an awesome build by GGF Events on YT and fell in love. As SFF builds are notorious for having component compatibility issues etc. I based my system on his awesome layout - but not all went smoothly as originally planned. For those interested in a similar build - a few handy tips I learned the hard way, Regarding the GPU water block length - this caused me massive headaches since I had a limit of +/-240mm. Note that I already bought the EK FLT-80 type RES did not have time to check for better combinations. Really important to keep this in mind when choosing your setup. The PCI cable included in the case will not work with the as the GPU block I used will clash with the radiator. I had to to have a custom 1U case bracket manufactured for the GPU block and new mountings for a smaller PCI cable with a 90Deg bend. Double check the your heights measured from the PCI slot to the top of the card. - See references. Planning a loop wasn't easy (at least for me since it was my first hardcore build) and I spent a lot of time planning the routing and bends to save on fittings. Plumbing was also a pain since I needed to route the piping underneath the case requiring drilling holes and wasted money with fittings. Don't be me and you will save heaps of money. I would recommend using EK-FLT 90Deg fittings since they are 2/3 the cost of the EK-Torque fittings. Given my professional background, I don't trust the cheaper push in fittings and so recommend to use EK-Quantum HDC Torque fittings to prevent the possibility of leaks as O-Rings perish over time. a few bucks over replacing something 10x the price to me makes sense. Airflow is terribly optimsed, after a few experiments, I had to incorporate a custom 3D printed fan cowling system since the solution depended on high static pressure fans. - See references below A few additional tips in general on custom loops Custom loops require basic maintenance. Ensure to follow coolant guidelines on flushing & fluid lifetime. Use gloves during construction or fluid replacement to prevent possibility of bacterial contamination. DO NOT use DEMIN water in your system unless you like instantaneous corrosion that ruins metallic coatings and wears out pump bearings. Keep your case and fans clean - dust build up on fans ruins performance and adds excessive bearing wear. All my hassles were due to the fact that I was hell bent to keep all parts EK and didn't mind to do modifications. Since I'm sure someone else may be interested in using this case, I developed a parametric model which proved handy for planning and tuning the layout. Just note that all components sizes and placements are according to my measurements and should be taken with a pinch of salt. In any case - hopes this proves helpful to someone out there in the wilderness. Hey members ! I've made up my mind...I want to get the the Phanteks Enthoo Evolv TG ATX case. I've seen plenty of YT videos and they all seem to use the Grey case...but I'm not sure about which colour to get. Can you please let me know any pros and cons regarding this case and maybe help me make a decision on the colour? As usual you guys are awesome !!! I look forward to your replies. Regards, Shaz.

Hi guys, I'm looking at getting a new case soon, and currently its down to the CoolerMaster Master Case Maker 5 or the Phanteks Enthoo Evolv ATX with tempered glass. Each has aspects about them that I like, the look of the Enthoo, the radiator mounting in the Maker 5 (can hide my ugly Noctua Fans). I am also looking at maybe in the next year or so doing a custom water cooling loop, so I want to also pick my next case with this in mind. Which of those 2 would be better suited to fitting a custom loop in? I'm having a hard time choosing between the 2, so any other insight, or alternative options, would be greatly appreciated!

I'm going to be filling the Phanteks Enthoo Evolv ATX case with Corsair's SP120 fans and 1 AF140 for exhaust (3 In the front 3 in the top and 1 in the back) as well as a 240mm rad in either the front on top. And I was wondering what would be the best fan setup, Top and Front fans intake and Back exhaust, or Front intake Top and Back exhaust. And also where should I mount my Radiator? Thanks in advance.

Hey guys, I have a question regarding the fans that come with the Phateks Evolv ATX Glass case. I just received it and am waiting to transfer my parts from my define R5. So I read some people say that they had ventilation issues with this case. I am considering ordering some be quiet silent wings 3 fans. Specifically, 3 120mm pwm fans for the front, 2 140mm pwm for the top, and one for the rear exhaust. I am also cooling with the be quiet dark rock 3 for my CPU cooler for my 6700k. So I have 2 questions ... How is the air flow with the pre-installed fans ? And the 2nd is ... how loud are the current fans ? Also any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks

Hello LinusForum, I need help urgently. I have opted for the Phanteks Evolv ATX which support up to an 360 rad with 3x 120mm fans, but I have gone for a 280 rad, with dual 140mm. My CPU AIO is an H110i, but I also have an EVGA Hybrid 1080 to install (I'm in the middle of the build right now) and can't seem to figure where to mount the GPU AIO. (CPU AIO would go at the top, I could only imagine). So either I have the H110i at the top and the Evga AIO in the back, meaning no dedicated exhaust (only on the rads themselves) + the stock 2x 140mm intakes in the front or I could mount the GPU AIO in the front where the intakes are and have a dedicated exhaust. Right now I may be leaning towards, using the two intakes for the CPU Rad then place two 140mms as exhaust at the top along with the GPU Rad in the back with the 120 exhausting. Please help me out here, what's the best choice? Really confused at this point. ~ TaroC

So I've decided to go entirely air-cooled on my latest build, as I don't mind the noise and fear the failure of liquid cooling. The case I've chosen is the Phanteks Evolv ATX, and I'm wondering what the best fan setup would be. The available space is 3 120mm/2 140mm on the front, 3 120mm/2 140mm on the top, and 1 120mm/1 140mm on the rear, and comes with 3 140mm fans pre-installed, 2 in the front and 1 in the rear. I was going to use 3 more 120mm fans on the top, but the thing is that I don't know if I should instead use them on the front, and I'm not sure which fans should be intake and which should be exhaust. Thanks in advance.

So i have this case but removed the fan hub because... well it was ugly. My motherboard won't run the case fans below 60%. I want to set a custom fan curve with the fans way below 60%. Will this be possible if i put the fan hub back on and connect the case fans to it? the fans are all 3pin fans. i'm trying to get my machine to be a bit quieter... especially considering my cpu isn't even topping 35 degrees. My case is the Phanteks evolv entoo tempered glass edition. Motherboard is an asus ROG x99, it's my first build so I am not an expert...yet. Sorry if I am posting this in the wrong place, but i just created this account and don't know the rules here yet. I also just built my first pc and am having this question. any response will be appreciated.

hey guys, i recently upgraded my case to an enthoo evolv atx, but when powering on the system, the power button and the little bar near the bottom of the case do not turn on? i searched all over the case for a connector for the lights to turn on, but i can't find anything. do the lights just not turn on unless you buy and install an LED strip yourself? or is it just that i have a defective product thanks!

I am reviving this thread because 200mm vs 2x140mm is still a relevant topic and previous points are still valid. I have an Enthoo Evolv ITX case with a Cryorig H7 cooler and the original 200mm case fan. I have modified the front panel by drilling 35 half inch holes. But, I'm still not happy with the airflow. The max CPU temps are 6 C lower with the side panel off, so I know the cooler can perform better, which is why I'm considering trying 2 140s. How are members coming to the conclusion that 2 140s would provide better cooling? My thinking is that higher quality fans could push more air due to higher pressure, but I don't know. Mathematically, the area of a 200mm circle is slightly larger than the area of 2 140mm circles. A ≈ 31415.93 vs A ≈ 15393.8 x 2 Has anyone actually tested 200mm vs 2 140s?

Hi all I'm looking at adding RGB strips into my system, and am looking at the Cablemod Widebeam RGB strips. My only concern is that my case, the Enthoo Evolv TG ATX is aluminium and steel. Wondering if anyone has had good success adding magnetic strips to the top, side and bottom of the Enthoo Evolv TG's internals? Thanks all

Backstory first: Last week I bought a phanteks Enthoo Evolv Shift X. I would have bought the Evolv Shift if I did not already own an H100i v2, but since the smaller case cannot support the 240mm radiator, I had to buy the skyscraper. Question: if I wanted to replace the tubing on the h100i v2, could I?... And could I add a resovior if I did. Question 2 if the first one is dumb: Watercooling, what parts for under 300 USD UPDATE: I have an NZXT manta, I will add a photo of the size comparison in a couple of days.

The stickers finally came in for the psu so it was finally time to takes photos. It turned out the ram wasn't nearly as saturated as the orange in the rest of the system: so I remedied it with some orange Sharpie. It turned out a lot better than expected and matches perfectly. Some black paper was taped at the top to prevent heat from reentering the system and that lowered temps by a few degrees. The system is pretty quiet during idle when using SIV but the graphics card gets noisy during load due to the lack of case airflow. Going with NF-A14's would've been better but the owner of the system was pretty adamant about going with 120mm's to be safe at the time. Hey, The Phanteks Enthoo Evolv is A Great case but one major downside is that you will not have room to fit a Hue+ if you plan to do so. Will the best option for this to Just simply place the Hue+ down on any available space in the case and hook up the cables as normal? Mabey with some M3 double sided sticky tape?

Hi all Installed my 1070 into my new case today (the above), already somewhat fearing what may happen to the card under load. As expected, due to the restrictive space below the GPU in the case (something I only thought passingly about), the card rapidly heated up to the mid 60's, at nearly 85% fan speed. The ACX cooler is really quiet, but even it was near jet engine like. Airflow is 1x 200mm (yes, 200) intake at the front, 2x 120mm at the top, and 120mm exhaust at the back. I'm still WELL within the return period. Do I initiate and get a Founder's instead? Or a different 1070 model? I feel like a founders would actually be cooler and more stable, in a rare case of it having an advantage over the more standard open faced cards. Thoughts?

Hello everyone, i got a quistion abuot Phanteks Evolv ATX Glass Edition. My question is, will i be able to move the fans in the front high enough, to get enough clearance to still use the 3,5inch brackets in the lower basement, and still use a 280mm rad in the front? HenneC

So I am going to build a pretty powerful system in the Phanteks EVOLV ITX cause and it comes with a 200mm fan which is FANtastic but I don't know if it will be enough to cool all my components as good as I want them to be. Build: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/TLFxcc So my question is, in this case will replacing the 200mm fan with two 140mm fans be better than just leaving the 200mm? Any comments, advice, or critique is appreciated. Thank you!

Hi, So I have just finished installing all my components and a new one (Hue+, Corsair RM750X), into my new case The Phanteks Enthoo Evolv ATX. I am extremely pleased with my results. My next job is to upgrade the fans and CPU cooler. The reason for this is to make my PC as quiet as possible. I am currently thinking of getting: Be Queit! Dark Rock 3 Pro (Unless the pro is un-needed?) 3/4x Silent Wings 2 (2/3 front, 1x140mm@back) I was also unsure whether or not I should use the PWN Fan hub that is pre-installed into the case. My CPU cooler is plugged into the CPUFan1 header and the fan hub is plugged into the CPUFan2 header. IS that correct or would I be better plugging it into my Motherboards fans headers? Thanks for any help, Dexter

Hey Guys. I'm almost done picking the parts for my new dream build (also my first build) and my last decision is between the Phanteks EVOLV with the Tempered Glass on both sides and the Define S by Fractal Design. If i was living in the UK or US i would definitely choose the Phanteks EVOLV no questions asked but since i do not and in my country you can't even find the EVOLV and only the Define S, the price difference between the two is overwhelming (EVOLV with shipping and tax etc.). This is the price difference: Fractal Design Define S (Window): 100$ Phanteks EVOLV (Tempered Glass): 500-520$ As you can see the price difference is enormous, i could actually buy 5 Define S cases for the price of one EVOLV case. The reason i started this topic was first to understand how much better is the EVOLV case over the Define S case. Would also want to know if the EVOLV case is worth 500$ and is it 400$ better then the Define S case. Would also like to know why the Define S overall is such a cheap case, is it because of cheap components ? no matter which case i put the Define S up against the Define S is always cheaper, even cheaper then the Define R5 case which is older with less airflow space.... is it just a big beautiful case with a lot of cheap components and inconvenient placements and problems ? or is it just because Fractal Design wanted to sell it for cheap so more would buy ? Other cases costs in my country for you to get the feel of prices: *Maybe somewhere in here is a case better then the Define S and EVOLV so let me know what you think " Corsair Obsidian 450D: 145$ CoolerMaster MasterCase 5: 145$ Fractal Design Define R5 (Window): 158$ NZXT H440: 161$ Corsair Obsidian 750D Airflow Edition: 197$ CoolerMaster MasterCase Pro 5: 204$ Corsair Graphite 760T: 241$ Corsair Graphite 780T: 244$ Corsair Obsidian 900D: 440-485$ Build: Motherboard: Asus Maximus VIII Hero Alpha. I have some questions about the Phanteks Enthoo Evolv case series. Now, with the Micro Tower, the grey variant is matte, but the white variant is glossy, but the black variant looks to be something in between these 2 finishes. But with the ATX Tower, all the finishes look to be matte. Can anyone who owns the black Micro Tower variant please tell me what finish it has? Thanks in advance.

Any owner of Phanteks Evolv ATX Tempered Glass case? I'm interested in sound isolation in this case, I mean, is it loud? Sound is leaking much?
