Hey guys, I am building my first system and am a complete noob/beginner, so any tips help and advice would be greatly appreciated. I intend to set up: I7-8700k GTX 1080Ti 480gb Samsung Evo 960 ssd 2tb HDD 2 x 8gb 2400mhz I want to ideally use the phanteks enthoo evolv shift, but I think the cooling solutions may be an issue? It has two front 120mm/140mm slots and one bottom 120/140mm slot, but it can only take two rads if they're both 120mm rads. It says on the site that it's meant for Aio cooling, but does anyone know if it is possible to have an effective custom loop set up? And if so are the two 120mm rads sufficient? If not possible, would air cooling or two aio systems be sufficient? If none of these solutions are sufficient then I would consider building the system with the phanteks Evolv Shift x instead. This case has three front 120mm/140mm slots and 1 bottom 120mm/140mm spot. With this case I would most probably be going for a custom water loop, with 1 fan at the top front for exhaust, then use the other two front slots for a 280mm rad. The question I have would be if the bottom fan should be used for a fan for cool air intake as well, or if I should use it for an additional 120mm rad? The fan I think will introduce cool air which I think may help with cooling some of the other parts like ram/motherboard etc, as well as provide some cool air (which I'm not sure will help cool the gpu/cpu as well since it's water cooled?) and help with the case ventilation especially since it's a vertical case. Or if with bigger case, if maybe having it completely air cooled would be possible, since there is alot more space for better ventilation, and heat dissipation as well as more fan slots available. I'm wondering how much extra clearance a 2 slot GPU has from the side panel when mounted and if anyone with an Evolv Shift case build, can check for me . There's no available information out there that I could find aside from 2 expansion slots, I'd like to be able to fit a 2.5-2.75 GPU in it (fans facing out), like a 2080ti Strix or maybe even an 2080ti Aorus. Hi, I'm looking into building in the phanteks evolv shift. Unfortunately i can't find anything about max gpu width anywhere other than it being dual slot. Does anyone have experience with putting a card like the Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2080 Super Windforce OC 8G in there? Since its dual slot and a tiny bit more. Or any suggestions for an rtx2080 super that will fit? Thanks in advance!

Finally, I bought all the parts for my PC build with Phanteks evolv shift mini case. (Not the X version, the smaller version) I see a lot of reviews about the cases saying that there is rack of air flow. Then I saw this unique fan from InWin. The MARS!! This fan is adjustable fan which can extend out and pivot to different position. (please search for it, it is pretty cool) So I was thinking about using the fan to improve the air flow in the case. I tried to install it on top of the case but it does not have enough clearance. I am planning to mount it on bottom front and position it to the middle of the case. Do you guys think adding this fan on the middle of the fan can improve any air flow or temperature of the case overall? Need advise!!

Hi, So I have a Ryzen 3800X, on a Aorus Pro Wifi x570-I in a Phanteks Evolv shift, cooled by a NZXT Kraken M22, and a GTX 1080. I have been having issues with thermal throttling on my gtx 1080. I attribute this to airflow because the Evolv Shift has basically no airflow. My solution is to add an additional fan and maybe CNC some front panel cut outs. When the front panel is off, I get full gpu usage and get up to around 80C. When it's on, I hit 80C at 65% usage. My CPU runs pretty hot too either way, but it's ryzen and not nearly as bad as the gpu. So my issue with adding another fan is that I am out of fan headers on the motherboard. I already have a splitter on one of the headers. I'd prefer not to add another where the pump is located. I'm concerned that it could cause some issues. I'd also like to switch over to an AIO gpu at some point so I feel like the fan controller would be necessary. The only issue is that my only usb 2.0 on the motherboard is used by my Kraken M22. I would really like a software controlled fan controller. I know phanteks makes a few and I saw one from corsair as well. I know they all require usb 2.0. Any help would be welcomed

Have there been any solid in depth reviews of these cases? I love the small footprint, and don't mind the height at all. The three videos I've seen have only been building in the case, and no technical information. My concern is thermals. I plan on going with an 8700k, and wouldn't mind a overclock to 5.0ghz, (but will be fine on stock honestly). And I will be going with either a gtx 1080 (ti?) depending on how prices drop... or how crazy the 1180 will be when they come out.. I'll most likely have to go with the shift X , which should hopefully allow me to properly cool it. But I would love to see some real world tests. I've also read there may be an issue with the PCI riser / cable now allowing full PCI-E 16x 3.0 connection. Does anyone have personal experience with this case? Or know of a solid review I can look into? Thanks!

Hi, guys, I'm working the kinks out of my new build. Having just completed this: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/RBdcGG I was experimenting with using heavy workloads. I stress-tested using 3DMark and Kombustor with pretty positive results, and Blender renders were without a hitch. The issue came when doing certain games. After a period of time, the system powered itself off in the middle of my gameplay (crash to power off). I don't believe my CPU thermals are the culprit. At least when the titles in question are run, are pretty consistent under or at 60 deg C. I have a few ideas: PSU, GPU, or chipset. The GPU is, in all fairness, actually a Vega 56 with the Vega 64 BIOS loaded onto it and undervolted. However, I didn't think it an issue since I torture tested it both gaming-wise and computationally using 3D Mark and Blender, respectively. The PSU is 650 watt. Is that enough? I'm worried that the chipset isn't being cooled adequately. I currently have case fan set up to mirror temps from the PCH and the motherboard, but I worry about adequate ventilation in the case. As it is I only have one case fan installed in addition to the push/pull AIO setup. I appreciate any help on this. Thanks guys.

Hi everyone, I just sold my gaming laptop and now I want to build a PC in a Phanteks Evolv shift mini ITX case. However, I don't have an amazing knowledge about which of the CPUs to choose or motherboards... So what I 100% want: The Phanteks evolve shift case GTX 1080 Ti (don't know exactly which brand and model), should I get something with back exhaust? What I don't know and need help with: CPU, I see the i7 8700k everywhere, but do I need 6 cores? CPU Cooler, I know that the 120mm water coolers are bad, but what else I can do? Motherboard. The one I choose just looks cool. I don't know anything else Case Fans? I'm sure I need airflow in this case, and I'm not sure if the default fans which comes in the case will be amazing, so what can I get? I aim to play AAA games like (Assassin's Creed Origins/Odyssey, Cyberpunk 2077, Farcry 5, Rainbow Six Siege, etc) I have this list for now which is over £1500 but I hope on Black Friday I may get some deals. If not. I will pay the full price. (I still want to stay at 1500, so Id like to hear suggestions on what to change) EDIT: I will play on a 1440p ~144Hz monitor. I know that I can't play all the games at 144, but everything over 60 is fine. I need 144hz for shooters.
