I'm a beginner at this, what I know is from the past few days researching and it still feels overwhelming. Will be purchasing the parts in about a week or two. Budget (including currency): 1500€ Country: Portugal Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Diablo 4, CSGO. Illustrator, Premiere, After Effects, Blender, InDesign, Photoshop. Other details: Need WIFI. Not worried about aesthetics. Have 1080p monitor but will upgrade to a 1440p eventually. A friend got me this build already. What's your opinion on it? Thanks!

Hey guys, I could really use some help choosing a suitable laptop for my bachelors program. From next year I’ll be starting my undergraduate program for computer science and Engineering and I want to buy a new laptop to take me through (at least) my bachelor of 3 years. I want it to have optimal specs for CS related tasks with graphical capabilities for rendering and editing videos. I also want to be able to do light to medium load AI/ML stuff on it. Does anyone here have any suggestions/tips for some things I should be specifically looking for in the laptop I am going to buy? Are there any suitable models / brands that come to mind which have proven to be reliable and a good choice for my purposes? Just some things to keep in mind: - My budget is about €2500 - I live in the Netherlands so I should be able to buy it ( cuz I heard some models are continent specific or something? ) Thank you in advance

Hello and thank you for taking the time to answer my post. I recently bought Edifier 1280T speakers to upgrade my audio setup in my bedroom and I would like to get a subwoofer to complement them. The best subs I found under 170 euro are the ones in the title. Edifier T5(8'' driver) is around 117 euros and POLK AUDIO PSW 10E(10'' driver) 162 euros. Is there a significative difference between the two to justify the higher price?

Budget (including currency): €2000-€2500. Country: Belgium (Can also get stuff delivered from some Dutch sites or Amazon.de for example) Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: All types of games, ranging from Cyberpunk to Apex to Path of Exile and whatever other good games will come out in the future Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I have one 144Hz GSync monitor (Displayport) and one 60Hz secondary monitor (HDMI). Besides that, the regular peripherals: Headphones, Wireless Mouse, Keyboard, USB Mic, USB-C webcam. This'll be my very first build, my current PC (custom pre-built) is deteriorating and will have to be replaced sooner or later. I'd like to build a new computer with one of the new AMD Ryzen CPU's and either an RTX 3070 or 3080, including 32GB of RAM. Preferably using fans as apparantly setting up water cooling is quite obnoxious according to a friend of mine. Would love some input or a good PCPartPicker list I can go off of.

Good day! I'm looking to buy a microphone and a headphone (and anything that increases the value for money if there is anything) for a total of roughly 300€, a bit more would be okay but preferably a bit less. I don't really know a lot about audio at all, so I'm unsure whether the things I'm looking at are a good value. Regarding the microphone: It doesn't have to be anything special, but it should be clear and pleasant to listen to. I'm not planning on doing any recording, however for the sake of my friends ears it should still sound adequate in the discord. I'm currently using a Logitech G633 headset. The microphone is acceptable but far from good. It also picks up a lot of keyboard noises (I use Cherry MX Brown keys) which is the most annoying part. I've been looking at the Marantz Professional MPM-1000U. I don't have space on my desk for a microphone arm, I do however have an unused shelfboard roughly half a meter over my mouth that might make a good place to suspend a mic from. I need it exclusively for my computer, it doesn't have to be mobile. Regarding the headphone: I'm gonna be using it mostly for discord, gaming (all kinds, a lot of shooters and RTS though), and a bit of music (hiphop primarily). I don't plan to use it with my phone and I don't plan to leave the house with it. I can probably fit an Amp on my table if it's helpful. I have a Gigabyte Gaming X X570 Motherboard. Looking forward to any responses! Best regards.

Greetings specialists, so the other day I got a request of finding hardware with the following requirements. Note: no apple product. - it has to run Adobe products (especially Photoshop and AfterEffects), with the possibility to work on high quality frame-by-frame animations - it has to have a touchscreen and be convertible, to work on things like this outdoors (at a café or while in a meeting) - able to run some youtube videos - able to run some games at normal/medium quality, with the words mentioned "at least it shouldn't lag, it's fine if it is ugly". What tags I've already tried to look for: - convertible - high Adobe RGB coverage - 2-in-1 laptops And because of the recommended Adobe requirements, also: -16 Gigs of RAM - 512 gigs of harddrive as a minimum (or at least 256 gigs with microSSD option) But with everything said, I cannot find the perfect fit to complete the request. Sometimes its the screen or the laptop just has no convertible option. Especially my knowledge about Intel Graphics-cards (Intel UHD, Intel Iris) kills me over and over again. So after 20 hours of pain, I decided to ask you! Please help me! (max. ~1500€, cheaper is always welcome EU, Germany)

So I'd like to get a PC. I currently have a decent laptop (I7-7700hq, 1050 Mobile, 16gb of ram, 1 tb hdd and 250gb sdd). It's good enough, however it has major cooling problems, as I'm kind of putting it through torture. It was meant as a powerful Notebook, and I put it through the most intense of games and programs. Now, I know this isn't really the best time to get a PC because of the Chip shortage, but my Laptop is both literally and figuratively falling apart. Budget (including currency): My budget is 1000 USD (Or about 6000 RON), excluding peripherals, OS and other stuff. So 1000 USD for the computer itself. Country: Romania. For those who don't know, that's eastern european. Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: I'll mostly use it for editing (DaVinci Resolve), playing games (Non-Vr, but I would like to play PC VR games as well), and recording stuff while playing. I don't edit in crazy high resolutions. Just 1920x1080 at 60 fps. I'm not expecting crazy high FPS. If I get 60 fps in almost all current games I'll be more than happy. I can stomach VR at 60 fps as well. I've actually tried PC VR on my laptop at 10 fps, so 60 would be more than good. I'm also not recording at crazy high FPS or resolutions. Just 1920x1080 at 60 fps. I currently have to do 24 FPS at 720p because my laptop can't take it. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I'll be using 1 monitor at 1920x1080, most likely at 60hz, but I am planning to get another 1 in the future (Or maybe another 2?) I hope I'll be buying it in about a month or 2, but who knows, it might take more. I do also need a USB 3.2 gen 2 on the PC for use with the Oculus Quest. No, I don't want a pre-built. I'd like the experience of building a PC yourself. Also, I know the GPU costs quite a lot there, however I have found it cheaper in my country. I added it on PC Part Picker so I'd know how much Watts it needs. Speaking of watts, I know the Power Supply is quite overkill, but I'd like to upgrade the GPU after the shortage is resolve. If it ever gets resolved. Link to the PC on PC Part Picker (Screenshot will also be available below): https://pcpartpicker.com/list/tRGyvf Edit: Multiple people have told me about the 1660 (and 1660 super), so I will try and get that instead of the 1050 TI. Also, apparently this case has terrible airflow. That'll also be changed.

Budget (including currency): €2400 Country: Ireland Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Mainly gaming, small amount of industrial automation coding (PLC and HMI). Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Been out of the PC Gaming scene for a long number of years, been console-only since the PS2 released. Haven't built a PC since AGP and round IDE cables were cool and PCIe was in it's infancy. I'm old enough that my first PC build had a NIC with an IPX connection and it was a BIG deal when I got 500Mb HDD to add to my system! Have a PS5 but would like a decent PC that will mainly run 4X strategy like Stellaris, city-building like Cities Skylines and the odd AAA title that isn't on PS5. I will be connecting the PC to an existing 4k so I'm not terribly worried about FPS or resolution yet but am giving myself that option if I decide to get dedicated gaming monitors in the future. I'll be using some e-waste grade peripherals to start with but I'm open to suggestions. I have a Corsair K63 Lapboard that I was using to rest a HOTAS on while sitting on the couch so I was thinking of getting the K63 keyboard to go with that. I plan to sit on the couch while gaming. Won't be building until later in the year around September/October so hopefully GPU prices will be low enough to go with the RTX 3080 but my plan B is an RTX 3070 ti, was looking at the EVGA FTW3 version for that. Also looking for suggestions on stores to buy from in Europe that deliver to Ireland so far I only have: www.caseking.de www.amazon.de But was leaning towards CaseKing for ease of warranty. Would have gone with UK stores but, you know, Brexit happened so there's Import Duty on everything from the UK now. See what I have below so far: Thanks in advance for any feedback Edit: Apologies for the PCPartPicker list massacre. I'm planning on building a relatively good PC later in the year around September/October depending on how quickly I can save up. It will be used almost exclusively for gaming, absolutely no streaming, rendering or other such tasks. I have pretty much everything decided upon except for what GPU will be the best. I have the budget for a 3080 but I'm not willing to pay the ridiculous prices which is another reason why I'm waiting. I'll be going with a 5600X CPU, ROG Strix B550-F, 16Gb of G.Skill 3600Mhz CL16 RAM and an NVMe SSD so I think the system should be able to take advantage of a 3080, if I need it. For the moment at least, I'll be playing on a low-end Samsung 4k Tv, no high refresh rates etc. I may eventually get a "proper" gaming monitor with a high refresh rate. I'll mainly play 4x, city-building and strategy games such as Stellaris, Cities Skylines and Anno but will also play RPGs and Shooters such as The Witcher, Mass Effect, Dragon Age and such. I'm not bothered with competitive shooters so I don't need crazy high frame rates. I have a PS5 and have been on console exclusively for over 10 years but am missing the freedom of picking and choosing from a wider variety of games and also changing up those games with mods. I'd like to play my games at the best possible settings but I'm not set on having everything maxxed out. Just a good-looking and smooth experience will do me. So, with that in mind. What do I need to do this? Obviously the 3080 is a different GPU to the 3070 and 3070ti. If we weren't in the middle of the chip shortage and scalpocalypse I'd probably just go for the 3080 but, I'm wondering will a 3070 or 3070ti do the job for me? Prices are varying wildly with suppliers who will ship to Ireland and we don't have the likes of Microcenter or Bestbuy here so I am limited to either Amazon Germany or CaseKing thanks to Brexit meaning I'd have to pay import duty on anything from the UK. Thanks for the input.

laptop Looking for suggestions for a laptop
martisBU posted a topic in Laptops and Pre-Built Systems
Hello everyone! I am looking for laptop suggestions for my upcoming university studies. My main intentions are light video editing with Premiere Pro, programming, Photoshop, and Office (sometimes light gaming, but it isn't a high priority as I have a stationary PC). The budget is around 800-1600 Eur. I want something not super bulky, not too heavy and battery life isn't the main issue here. I am tech-savvy, and I know a decent amount about computers and other devices, but talking about laptops, I am clueless due to that the prices are a lot different compared to how much you would spend to build one. That is why I ask for your help.-

Currently I have TaoTronics TT-BH21 and I am happy with them. The problem is that I work 12h a day and I'm using these headphones all that time and I'm starting to get a permanent slit on my hair. Because of that I'm looking to upgrade to something that does not go on my head. I'm assuming earbuds/IEMs are way to go? Basically these are my requirements: It should to be wireless if possible. I could deal with wired earphones since I'm siting in one place but all of them that I've had you could hear every time the cable moved. Maybe things have changes since then. If wireless - battery should last at least 12h on a single charge even after a couple of years of use if possible. It should be comfortable for 12h daily use. It should drown-out kids playing (screaming) when I have an open window. No microphone needed. I'm not an audiophile so sound should be good enough. Things that I am reading is that IEM are better then earbuds but most of them are wired as far as I know. Maybe I could get bluetooth to 3.5mm adapter if the cable sound is minimal? What are your recommendations?

Hey guys, I wonder where can I find the 48" Lg CX that Linus reviewed recently in Europe? Can't seem to find any, in all stores. Is the european model labeled as a different model maybe?

It has been over 2 months since Nvidia pulled the RTX 30xx FE series from their own store, and in the US they assigned BestBuy to sell them. In Europe however, we still have NO way of buying a Founders Edition card. Nvidia still hasn't assigned a store in Europe so they could send all of their stock to the US, instead of sharing a bit to Europe. This means that to this day, even official retailers in Europe are selling RTX 30xx cards at scalping prices. Not to mention a lot of people would really like a Founders Edition because of their (in my opinion) very nice design. Also, their statement was that they would find a solution for European customers soon (which was a lie), instead of just saying that Europeans couldn't buy FE cards (which would be bad for PR) Nvidia just gives no fucks about ANY customers outside the US/Canada. And I'm seriously considering to just buy an AMD gpu at this point, they have been returning to normal prices in Europe, even though they launched later than Nvidia's cards! TL;DR: Nvidia fucks Europe over, Europe says fuck you Nvidia!

I and my brother bought the LTT water bottle to each other this Christmas and discussed getting an alternative lid as the screw lid that comes with the bottle is a bit of a chore taking off each time you are going to drink. So getting a lid that you can drink directly from was the plan. I checked the forum and the only mention I could find was the Simple Modern brand. But I could never find just the lid and straw in Europe, we are from Sweden, so ordering from US is not that compelling. So this leads me in the search for a similar product here in Europe/Sweden. I ended up finding this product: Camelbak Eddy+ (Bought it from the Swedish Amazon) This lid and straw replacement combo works well enough. They use the same or almost the same threading in the screw-on part and is the same diameter. For me, this results in a very slow leak if I turn it upside down but my brother did not have this problem. So can maybe be contributed to production tolerances. The straw is maybe 0.5cm to 1cm to short to reach fully to the bottom of the bottle but this is not really an issue. I have used the new lid for about 2 weeks and I can't really say anything bad about it. It is a little hard to screw on and off as the threading is a little bit different, but it is just screwing until it is at the bottom. The difference in threading made me a bit concerned about wearing out the lids threading, but from what I can tell from my use with refilling the bottle every or every other day is that no damage has been noticed to the threading.

Hi, so the cryo chamber case is great and I liked what I saw on the video Linus made around the beginning of the year and now I'm preparing for the new releases this year (AM5 and RTX 40xx) and I'm going to need a new case, but I'm not buying an entire desktop just for the case and HP said they would sell the case itself separately which is true to some extent, I did find it possible to buy in the US but I am currently residing in Portugal and over here I can only find the entire oem version. So if anyone knows of somewhere in the EU where you can buy the case only pls let me know

Summary Apple will be accused of breaking EU law by unfairly limiting access of its mobile payment system on iPhone to third-party service providers, such as PayPal and Venmo, according to the Financial Times, citing sources familiar with the matter. Quotes My thoughts Disclaimer: Please note: As I am as Anti-apple as it can get. My opinion might be Biased. ------ This is nothing but good news, In the EU Mobile and wireless payment methods are widespread, and used by many that can use it with their phones, By using their banking app, it is a simple tap on the terminal with your phone, and you can go, -Unlike the USA where this adoption is slow to start, and rejected by many people. [which I am certain Apple will start to use as a excuse, by Citing global statistics, instead of EU_ONLY statistics, during the lawsuit] ---- Apple bitching about that it is a safely feature is nothing but utter BS, Just like with the appstore/3rd party payment methods they are showing their true colors. of wanting FULL control on IOS devices. Getting FULL access to customers banking info, and user spending habits, trough the info gathered by apple_pay might also be against the GDPR ---- It is sad that it has to come to a lawsuit. as apple has had plenty of times of building a working alternative, that does not rely on banks being forced to integrate their apple_pay feature/software, After the lawsuit concludes in the EU's victory, European banking apps could Finally use the NFC chip that is build into Iphones, Its highly likely that apple will resist, But at least it is a win for the consumer, as they can use their own banks SAFE and Reliable banking app for wireless payment methods. The European Court of Justice this week ruled that production of Jodi Boxes is now illegalmovies or any sort of media without the right holders' permission is ILLegal NOTE: Just a small update. Streaming movies has always been illegal anyway. Streaming really is just as bad as downloading movies. Example with Kodi streams are downloaded into a temporary file. I see this more as a statement that attention will be brought to the matter of media streaming content that is illegal and that action will take place.l Now owning Kodi itself is NOT illegal. Kodi's main purpose was to stream your own virtual library content. If the content belongs to you it is perfectly legal. However, if you use a third party addonthat allows you to view movies then that is copyright infringement If you know someone who streams movies or any sort of media for "free" please inform them about this UPDATE I'd like to sincerely apologize for my false information. I myself was misinformed about this situation. This law is not against watching Kodi streams but to prevent Kodi add-on box production. I cannot apologize enough from my mistake. This post is going to be privated in the morning to save myself the embarrassment. I apologize for my mistake. I should have done more thorough research on this matter. Really sorry guys Pdf document http://curia.europa.eu/jcms/upload/docs/application/pdf/2017-04/cp170040en.pdf

Sup folks, I am looking to build myself a new PC, as my old GTX560 powered box is a little outdated. To make the PC look good I want to avoid the filthy ketchup and mustard cables that come with most PSUs. I was looking around and found it nearly impossible to find anything within Europe, all I got was websites from the US of A or Canada. Also I found on a forum someone that said one should be careful picking their cables, as -supposedly- the wrong PSU and cable combination could be catastrophic, and I quote, "could cause a lot of damage to the system". So, I'm looking for general advice, is what this man said true, could getting the wrong cables cause issues? And does anyone know where to get (white) PSU extensions or cables in Europe? The PSU and Motherboard in question: Cooler Master G550M Gigabyte GA-170N-WIFI (ITX) GPU (if necessary): Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 (Founders) Thanks in advance! Regards, TJ EDIT: I noticed custom cables are expensive, I might just go for the Corsair Rmx 550W, that has some tasty black cables at least

Hello everyone. I have the chance to purchase a Clevo P751DM2-G with gtx1060 barebone at ~1100€. I'd buy the CPU by myself (probably a 6400, maybe 6500) and pair it with 2x8GB of RAM and the combo SSD-HDD from my old laptop. Then (when I have the money ) maybe add a pci-e m.2 ssd. Does anyone know how it performs? Thermals? Noise? I don't care about battery life and weight, it will operate while plugged in 99% of the time. I've heard (in this forum) about Prema bios: what is it? Is it so necessary? Can you install it aftewards? Thank you

I'm looking for a laptop that I can use for gaming and working. It doesn't matter if the screen is 15 or 17 inch in diameter but 4GB of VRam (or more) is a MUST! I'm buying from the European market, more specifically from Slovenia. I appreciate all of your submissions.
