As I sit at the computer all day, every day, especially for work, isn't it a good idea to get ahead of the wrist pain game at a young age and start using ergonomic pheripherals? Gold standard that I know off is the Logitech stuff. MX Vertical and K860. Problem is they cost a fortune. Which in of itself isn't too expensive actually if I had my own private office but as it'd be out in the open I'd rather not leave something so expensive just sitting there. Someone might not know it's mine and use it. You know how other people use company equipment... So I was thinking of just getting some chinese stuff. They're like 1/3rd 1/4th of what the Logitech stuff would come to. Is there any cheaper reputable competitors? So far I've found these 2 that could be good? What do you think. Here's the keyboard and mouse. Maybe there's a reason Logitech is the goal right now? Hope someone enlightens me.

Hey everyone, I'm in need of some serious help combatting ignorance, arrogance, and stinginess at work when it comes to monitors. The Background & Story I got authorization to get new monitors for myself at work. This came after being stuck with some old recycled Dell 21.5" (1080x1920) (that were bought well over a decade ago), I've been suffering from extremely bad headaches, migraines, and sore muscles (bad posture to compensate to use the monitors); finally my supervisor had me do an ergonomic evaluation. They were not happy that I was using such small monitors nor the fact that they were not adjustable (I have them stacked on boxes for height), they recommended that I get larger and better monitors. (Along with a desk that is not 25 year old and desk chair to match.) So I set out looking for new monitors that were somewhere in the neighborhood of ~27-30" (3840x2160) monitors. I found several that were brighter, had better contrast, etc. for around the $360; which to me is not a bad price. I write a report and send it off to the uppers so they can order the displays. This is where things take a turn. For the worst. The response I got was pretty infuriating. They said that anything over 24" in size and/or greater than 1080x1920 in resolution is not considered ergonomic, thus are not acceptable. They then sent me the info and ordering sheet for a monitor that will be ordered instead. Needless to say at this point I am extremely annoyed about the whole thing. The monitor is a ViewSonic VG2448, 24", 1080x1920, which the contracted price for us is $340. Now I'm in the situation that I either get stuck with these monitors for the. Well next eternity. Or if I can find enough sources and studies about UHD monitors, PPI, and screen size, etc. I can actually force them to update their ergonomic standards. This would be amazing for all my coworkers as we are so tired of being handed fourth rate products because, it's what a disconnected 65YO ordering manager thinks what is acceptable. More than half of my office work is working in ArcMap or Arc Pro, along with a lot of reading, excel, and data work. I've spent several hours looking for research papers on ergonomics in regards to ppi, resolution, screen size, etc. and I have come up with mostly nothing. If anyone has some solid sources or anything I can use to bolster my argument I would serious appreciate it. I'm tired of coming home sore, with a migraine, and having to sleep my evening & night away to get relief. TLDR: Got told at work to order new monitors. Sent an order up for some 3840x2160 monitors. Got told anything over 24" screen size and/or more than 1080 is not ergonomic thus not allowed. Was told the only acceptable monitor an overpriced 24" 1080 ViewSonic panel. Only way to stop this madness is to force them to acknowledge that "Ergonomic" is not and does not stop at 24" 1080x1920. P.S. First time poster, long time lurker. I'm in need of some help, I can't take the apathy, ineptitude, and technological illiteracy of my upper management. Go easy on me, I'm dying over here.

I just found the Glove80, a wireless+ergonomic gaming keyboard and thought there'd probably be other people here who found it cool. The people behind it seem to have done some pretty thorough R&D, so I think it could be neat for Short Circuit to cover it (James is really enthusiastic about these things). IIUC, the left half can be used independently, so it could also be used as a macro-/game-pad with more space for the mouse on the right (I use a simpler split keyboard, and being able to put the right half away when gaming is amazing!). There's also GPIO, ZMK firmware, and a "solder your own switches"-option; seems really nice for tinkering with? And of course it comes with the RGB goodness we all love ^^ What do y'all think? : )

I've asked this question before and people don't seem to comprehend what I'm looking for for some weird reason, so I'll try to explain it again differently. I'm looking for a PlayStation style USB gamepad for PC where the 4 shoulder buttons are all buttons, no paddles. On nearly all controllers, the lower L2 and R2 shoulder buttons are paddles, and I'm having the hardest time finding one that isn't some cheap $20 Chinesium piece of crap that will fall apart in a week. This is for a friend of mine who needs it for physical reasons. We thought about the Xbox accessibility controller, but that's overkill and way too expensive for his needs. Please help. Thank you.

I Recently purchased the moonlander from ZSA and it arrives tomorrow which I am stoked about, I just know since I already type incorrectly not using home row I should really attempt to learn it properly. this being said I want to use a layout that would be good for shortcuts on both windows and linux and ideally Mac too since I swap between OS's all the time. eventually I wish to transfer from a usual desktop environment to a tiling window manager for productivity while programming. does anyone have any suggestions or is it wiser to just learn qwerty properly

Hey guys, I'm looking for a new multi-purpose display - gaming, general productivity, media consumption, digital drawing etc. - although, this will be my auxillary display, as in, it won't be directly in front of me, but rather to my left at quite an angle. Just making things clear, doubt it's that important. I managed to narrow down my potential options to Samsung Odyssey G5A and LG UltraGear 27GN88A-B. Which one would be better? I'm curious about LG's NanoIPS display, but I read that there are potential problems with backlight. I remember that Linus made a video about it's older brother, I guess? The UltraFine Ergo and I was immediately interested in that ergo stand. In terms of pricing I can get the LG for ~440$ and Samsung for ~380$ plus 40$ for a third party ergo stand. That's why LG looks like a fine choice, since it seems to have everything I need, including ergo stand. Opinions from display experts would be greatly appreciated I'm open to other options, my budget is around 440$ with ergo stand of my preferred choice. As for requirements, I need 27", at least 144Hz IPS panel with both G-sync and FreeSync support, solid colors, but no need for HDR.

I'm currently looking for a new ergonomic/gaming chair for under $300, I've had pretty bad back problems in the past so one with good lumbar support would be ideal, I have to sit at my desk for long periods of time so I am also looking for maximum comfort. can anyone give me a suggestion?

Hey Guys, So I recently ditched my hand me down office chair for (what I thought) was a nice ergonomic chair (Staples Ayalon). I tried it in store and liked it, but after a few days of sitting in it and experimenting, my lower back and butt are KILLING ME. I spent about $230 after tax (it was on sale, its originally $300). I'm gonna have to return it but I don't know what to replace it with. I don't want to spend more than $300-ish, so please don't say Herman Miller. Chairs I've considered are the ErgoChair 2, Secretlab Omega, Uplift Pursuit, and (for more budget) the Hyken (though I tried it in store and wasn't blown away). I know everyone's backs are different but I'd love some input. If it helps, I'm 5'9" and around 165lbs.

For the past few years I've been using an old saggy swivel rocker as my PC chair, so springs covered by a 3 inch foam cushion. I have an equally old pillow behind my back in a feeble attempt for support but that's not working out either. I've been in the process of trying to rebuild an office chair I found on the side of the road, currently it has a WonderGel Extreme seat cushion incorporated into the seat under the material surrounded by normal foam. This was done to counter the unbearable feeling of the WonderGel's columns against my skin even through clothing. Unfortunately now it's too stiff & it's not like my efforts at rebuilding the back of the free office chair have been successful either. So even though I'm flat broke & still trying to make another $500.00 for the rest of my new PC parts. I need to start looking & researching early for a new chair that's actually comfortable. I've heard those DXRacer chairs don't last despite costing several hundred dollars. Supposedly Herman Miller's Aeron is the most comfortable chair period but how's that possible with mesh or are they only referring to back ergonomics? Do any of you have suggestions on how I could rebuild that free office chair the right way? Is there a guide somewhere on how to pick the right foam for my use? I'm completely ignorant when it comes to what I need as the only words that come to mind are "it hurts". Please someone help, I'm tired of being in pain when trying to relax.

Help me find a Wireless Ergonomic Back lit keyboard for my boss
JayTay posted a topic in Peripherals
Ok so I work at a software company and my boss asked me to find him a keyboard that is ergonomic since he codes 8 hours a day, Backlit because he does not like to turn on lights, and he would like it to be wireless so he can move it around as he likes. He currently has a Razer BlackWidow Ultimate and loves it but he says that it is starting to stress his hands and he is having to cut down the time the codes because of the lack of ergonomic curve. I looked for this mythical unicorn before Christmas and I had to report to him that it does not exist. He approached me last week and again I had nothing to show him. So if anyone knows of a keyboard like this please help me. Help me find this unicorn!!!- 6 replies

Hi Guys, so I've had this one chair now for the last 6 years. I brought it from Ikea back in 2011 for £35. It was a nice cheap chair for the time and it has served me well. However, this chair is now starting to fall apart on me, the material is ripping at the edges and the comfort of the chair has very much gone as the material has been worn over time. As a result I'm now in the market for a new, comfortable, ergonomic and good quality office chair that will last a very long time. I use my computer for around 6 hours give or take everyday and I'm looking for a chair that will suit my needs and that someone can recommend. I have a few suggestions below. I am not worried about the price of the chair, however the best bang for the buck is advised. That said, I am also not wanting to spend over £300.00. Chair suggestion 1: https://www.amazon.co.uk/d/u4f/Ergonomic-Office-Executive-Computer-Footrest-Headrest-Standard/B01MCQBEM5/ref=aag_m_pw_dp?_encoding=UTF8&m=AT2QXFTZ6P2MN&th=1 Chair suggestion 2: https://www.amazon.co.uk/iKayaa-Ergonomic-Executive-Computer-Headrest/dp/B01MCQGQZJ/ref=pd_sbs_201_10?_encoding=UTF8&refRID=0G7N1WSXJTYYF34BZR8Q&th=1 Also, I have seen video reviews of these chairs and they tick all the boxes for me, but I am not sure if the video was a legit review or if the reviewer was maybe paid to say the chair was good. Links to the videos can be seen below.

If anyone knows what mouse Linus is using in the 'TINY Laptop TESTED - Gaming & More!' video at the 7m15s mark. I am interested as its shape looks similar to the G9x, which has since been discontinued, and I would like to follow up on what mouse that might be. Any info would be greatly appreciated, thanks! Here's the timestamped vid link:

I'm looking for a Mechanical Keyboard to use mainly to type with as the keyboard I currently have is well trash. Ideally I would like one with Back lighting, as I work in the dark a lot, to be ergonomic, and with a wrist rest. I'm not against spending a lot but I would prefer to keep it under $100 usd. I don't know a lot about Mechanical Keyboards, but I've heard that they are really good for typing. Does anyone know a keyboard that would fit my needs well. Thanks ~Yakke

Hey guys! What do you rest your feet on while at your PC desk for extended amount of hours? I've seen hundreds of little cheap-o ones doing a simple google search, I wanted to come to the LMG community to get better info. Any reputable brands that produce quality foot rests? Or any advice on comfortable foot rests? Weird request I know, but honestly something I am interested in. Thanks Guys! -A Lifeguard

Why haven't vertical mice taken off? not in the Linus way of thinking, straight up, the vertical gaming mouse? If they are so much better than using the bog standard flat down spread eagled pose , you never see vertical style gaming mice reviews or vertical gaming mice full stop. My partner had me research what I could find and they range from 30° from horizontal to near 90° . OK they look as quirky as Linus's pink Lambo but the sales bs is actually backed up by technical bs. Ergonomic Logitech MX Master, the hand-shoe-mouse, there's the Evoluent Vertical Mouse which like an earth quake hit and even holographic ones. All Ergonomic mouse reviews say that they solve fatigue and rsi from gaming problems. Maybe the Linus team could do a MASSIVE study of they all. Set the Linus Tech Team off on a week long gaming party to review them. Anyone use a mouse around the hand shake position here ?

Hello all, I am new here would like to ask for all opinions and options you can offer on this matter. First off, I have large hands and to this date have not found a mouse that fits them. My hands are both wide and long with my palm being longer than my longest finger and my fingers are quite thick(only including this as I think it might help). My hand measurements are about 19cm (base to tip) and 11cm, or 7.5" and 4.25". My most recent was the Redragon M902 SAMSARA (https://www.amazon.com/Redragon-High-Precision-Programmable-Cartridge-Profiles/dp/B00MB7L4SW/ref=lp_8400656011_1_13?srs=8400656011&ie=UTF8&qid=1500154169&sr=8-13) The Redragon was a little small in length and width for me and did not have the greatest ergonomics. Before the Redragon I use the Etekcity Scroll X1 (https://www.amazon.com/Etekcity-Scroll-X1-Programmable-Switches/dp/B00F3L19KQ/ref=sr_1_2?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1500154493&sr=1-2&refinements=p_89%3AEtekcity) The X1 actually felt better despite being smaller and seemed to be more accurate The rest of the mice I have used have been $5 dollar mice. I don't care for RGB or top of the line technology and would prefer not to have to mess with additional software. Most haves would are as follow: at least 1 side button, large and ergonomic, and if it does require additional software, it must be usable with internet. Must be less that $100 unless it is part of some combo. Mice I have looked at so far: Logitech G602 Logitech Wireless Performance Mouse MX Logitech MX Master (I like the idea of the thumb wheel) Logitech G502 Proteus Core Microsoft Sculpt Ergonomic Mouse (I have tried one at work and was very good) These are just the ones I have come across and very welcome to suggestions. Thank you, GingerBreadKing P.S. Is it weird I have this in a janky letter format? My hand measurements are about 19cm (base to tip) and 11cm, or 7.5" and 4.25"

So I have been planning to buy a new office/gaming chair for quite some time, but I just can't decide which one I should buy. I was originally planning to go with a DXRacer Drifting chair (since it would fit my height and weight, 5ft 10 and 145lbs), but since some people were complaining about ergonomics of these so called "racing" chairs I became a bit concerned since they aren't that cheap. I would really appreciate it if anyone could help me pick the right chair for my needs. I usually spend 4-9 hours per day sitting behind my computer, usually playing games, 3D modeling, editing some stuff etc... My max budget is 350€ and I'm looking for a good quality chair, that is as ergonomic as possible. I was originally planning to buy the DXRacer chair because of how comfortable it looks, because of the "quality" materials that are used in the manufacturing process and because of the features like the ability to tilt so far back the back area. After searching around the web for a bit, I have found this chair: ANCHEER Ergonomic Office Chair (https://www.amazon.com/ANCHEER-Ergonomic-Adjustable-Headrest-Certified/dp/B017SJBW0C) The thing is that this chair does not seem to be as versatile as the chair from DXRacer. The thing that I have also noticed is, that these ergonomic chairs look much less appealing than the racing style ones, which I guess is just a tradeoff that I would have to accept. In short, I'm looking for a nice looking ergonomic chair that is made out of decent materials and that is under 350€. All help would be appreciated!
