  1. Budget (including currency): 38000INR Country: India Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Blender, Fortnite, Rocket League Call of Duty, Battlefield 2042, Valorant, CSGO, Image processing sotwares Other details Will be buying in around 2-5 days and it has to have a good GPU main choice goes to GTX 1650 and RX 5600XT For this budget, Help is required for Motherboard and Processor, 8 GB ram is enough and a 128 or 240 GB SSD For OS and an HDD For storage
  2. Budget (including currency): Hoping it won't go past $500 (~P25,000 here) Country: Philippines Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Gaming: at 1080p, Subnautica, Minecraft (modded), CSGO, Outlast, Bloons TD 6, GTA V, Fallout NV. I'm not really into the big AAA titles with super realistic graphics, more so thinking of playing older 2010s games and newer indie games, meaning they're not the most graphic demanding games Productivity: Krita, 6k resolution digital art work, Da Vinci Resolve, 720p resolution video work (used to be Filmora 'til I realized Da Vinci is free) Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Recently got into PC building™ and realized how bad my current set up is, like, really bad. So if you think the parts I want to upgrade might look a bit dated in today's standards, then you need to look at what I'm using right now (https://pcpartpicker.com/list/DfJFRv) I couldn't list down case or PSU because pcpartpicker doesn't have them in their catalogue, but it's all packed in an Intex IT-516 case, with the PSU being built in to it, most likely not manufactured from reputable brands (It uses spaghetti cables so that probably gives you a good idea on the quality of it). Big red flags you may have noticed is how I don't have an SSD running as boot drive, using only single channel RAM (at a sad 2400mHz due to my mobo + CPU combo) or that I have a poor man's GT 1030 as my graphics card, where a few benchmarks later I've come to realize this is the one component I really need to upgrade the most. With that in mind, I'm looking to upgrade my current rig into something that's much more manageable (https://pcpartpicker.com/list/CDwwLs) ofc i'll still be keeping my old hard drive Good news is, I already have the dual channel RAM and the NVMe SSD, they're sitting right here on my desk right now as I'm typing this, I will be installing them by the weekend. Now if you look at the part list you'll notice how everything is a lot costly, no idea why the CV550 costs like that, but here in my country, local shops sell them for much cheaper. And I plan to get a used 1660 from Facebook marketplace, hopefully making everything cost under $500. Unsure if I'll buy everything in bulk, will probably get GPU first, then get everything else after so I can half case swap (I say half since I'd only really case swap the GPU and the HDD) Peripherals I don't really mind them, I'm sporting a 60hz monitor and maybe I'll get a 75hz one in the future. lmk what your thoughts are ^^ perhaps you have part suggestions that do better for around the same price, or maybe I need a higher wattage for my GPU + CPU combo, would love to know!
  3. So I'm currently helping a mate out with a PC build, on a very very tight budget. Not only that he has very special requirements for the system (i.e. small as possible, able to run Skyrim with mods, 2 ssd one for games one for system) ECT ECT. Now I have managed to stay in the budget, with a Ryzen 5 3600, the 2 ssd he wanted, small build, propper Mobo, some decent 16gb 3200mhz ram. But now I'm stuck on gpu. Personally I've never had a low tier gpu. Always played with 70series. (770, 970, 1070) So here is my concern. MSI GTX 1650 super Ventus xs oc 4GB (Or) RX 570 8GB We have a 550w 80+ silver in the system to power it. But the internet is super split on these two card. Which is the better card? They are about the same price. Please help! Thanks everyone! Much love: Viking~
  4. Right so my little brother, is after a gaming PC, and I've been tasked with creating it. my parents have budgeted around £500 (+-10%) for his first PC if we exclude prices of Windows and Peripherals(keyboard, mouse, monitors), what would be a decent PC (part picker links accepted)
  5. question is in the title, just has to be compatible with windows and not too big or unconventional. preferable something that is not too heavy since my guess is that it will be used with a laptop, but its no must by any means.
  6. Looking for budget entry level racing wheel to play some racing games. Mostly F1 2018. Any suggestions ? Anything below $200 is fine.
  7. Like the title says, I wanted to see if I could build a PC for $200 that would run Shadow of the Tomb Raider at 1080p resolution. TL:DR; my upgraded Optiplex 390 runs the benchmark (on low settings of course) at an average of 42FPS with a floor of 33FPS. Success!!! Parts List and Prices Base PC: Dell Optiplex 390 Mini Tower - $52.50 on eBay CPU: Xeon E3-1225 at 3.1GHz (this is the gen 1 LGA1155 version) - $19 on eBay Motherboard: Dell M5dcd - included with base PC Case: Dell Optiplex 390 - included with base PC CPU Cooler: Stock Intel cooler - included with base PC Thermal Paste: If you don't have any lying around, just use mustard, lol - free RAM: 8GB DDR3 1333MHz - one stick included, $10.50 for the second stick Graphics Card: Radeon HD 7870 - $47.50 SSD: NEW Silicon Power 256GB SP256GBSS3A55S25 - $28.50 SSD 2.5" to 3.5" Adapter and Dell Hard Drive Caddy - $7.50 Hard Drive: 500GB 7200 RPM - included with base PC Power Supply: Antec Earthwatts EA500 80+ PSU - $35 Other fans, cables, etc: whatever came in the base PC Windows 10 Pro License - included with base PC (upgrade from Windows 7) Total: $200.50 When procuring parts, I would check Craigslist (or local equivalent) first for deals, especially on the base PC. I had to buy all of my parts, except the new SSD, on eBay, which took quite a bit of digging. Fortunately, my labor is not included in the budget! Build Log For the base system, any mini tower with an LGA1155 socket will probably work. We only really care about the case, motherboard, OS license, and at least one 4GB 1333MHz RAM stick. A hard drive is a nice to have. I used the stock case, motherboard, and CPU cooler. I had to settle for a board that only had two RAM slots, officially capped at 2x4GB of RAM (though the internet tells me that I could probably upgrade to 2x8GB). None of these parts are great, but they're cheap and they got the job done. Xeon E3-1225 processors are cheap four core, 3+GHz processors that are sufficient to avoid bottlenecking the graphics card. While Xeon processors are usually not listed as compatible for the PCs you'll find for $50, theoretically they should work in almost any 1155 motherboard. An i5-2400 costs a little more for the same performance and (almost) guaranteed compatibility. Prior generation i5-760 processors are cheaper but noticeably slower, and prior generation i7s are more expensive and slower. Newer generation CPUs of any flavor are significantly more expensive. Note that I don't like AMD CPUs from this era and did not seriously consider them - let me know if I screwed up! RAM selection is unremarkable, just get 8GB of 1333MHz and try to match your sticks. For the graphics card, I was able to find a Radeon HD 7870 for $47.50. If you prefer team green, GeForce GTX 760s offer slightly better performance for about the same price. You may need to dig a bit for a deal. You'll need an SSD. I spent a few extra bucks for a new 256GB drive, but you can save $5-$10 here with a lower capacity or used drive. I'm picky about mounting so I purchased a 2.5" to 3.5" adapter and one of Dell's special mounting sleeves to mount the SSD properly. The PC came with a 500GB 7200 RPM hard drive which I wiped and converted to extra storage. Finding the power supply was probably the trickiest part of the build (honorable mention to the GPU). I ended up with an Antec Earthwatts EA500 PSU. JonnyGuru liked it back in 2010, so it probably won't blow up the rig, and it had the two six pin GPU connectors I needed, so no adapters required. eBay usually has a couple of old, lower-tier-but-non-explosive 500w power supplies available at around $35. I included Windows 10 in the list above as you should be able to find a PC with a Windows 7 Professional license (possibly already upgraded to Windows 10). It's nice to have an activated copy of Windows 10, especially if you got it for free! All that remained was assembly, a Windows 10 installation, and unsupported BIOS update, and a lot of nail biting while the Shadow of the Tomb Raider benchmark ran. Remarkably, the rig cleared the 30FPS hurdle and averaged 42FPS, as you can see in the screenshot. Shadow of the Tomb Raider actually doesn't look all that bad on low settings. Also, the rig runs Fortnite on high settings at about 45 FPS and chews through CS:GO at 100+ FPS, so it can game (; Hope y'all enjoyed, pgpcs
  8. Budget (including currency): $1250 USD Country: US Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Games like Rainbow 6, Modern Warfare, Apex Legends, Rocket League Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Option 1 https://pcpartpicker.com/list/FVVHcq Option 2 https://pcpartpicker.com/list/MmPGQq The difference of the two is the graphics card but I was wondering if this was a decent entry level gaming PC or if I needed to or should add or change anything else?
  9. TLDR: If you just need a card that supports NVENC, then price is king and overall card performance doesn't matter. Specific example is if you want to turn your existing NAS into a Plex server that can use hardware encoding for h.264 playback when streaming videos directly from your server. So I actually have some disagreement with the statement made in this follow-up video to the low end graphic card discussion made in this video here: But I'm not flaming upset about it though because their context never discussed my particular case, and I actually think it would make a good video segment as well. Basically it comes down to one thing for me; NVENC support. I built myself a 10TB ZFS raidz storage server and wanted to install Plex (I had it on my desktop but I power cycle it constantly switching between work and gaming boot drives, so I wanted something that would run 24/7). The server itself is relatively low end hardware as it is mostly used for media streaming and long term infrequently accessed storage. Specifically it includes a core i3-7100, 8 GB of ram and as mentioned a 10TB ZFS pool for storage running on Ubuntu 16.04; very much a budget archive for lots of data. That said I wanted to stream videos from it to my phone or other devices while away on business trips. However to utilize this and not peg the CPU I needed NVENC support which as the below article points out is mainly dependent on the architecture of the card and not so much if it is high-end or not (comes down to the GPU being a desktop Kepler, Maxwell or Pascal GPU): https://help.elgato.com/customer/portal/articles/2471964-which-nvidia-graphic-cards-do-support-nvenc-technology- Thus for my 10TB ZFS raidz I went with a Zotac GT 730 that I bought used, but I could have easily gotten ANY GT 7XX desktop card with a Kepler GPU. I'm actually considering this because there are some low-end entry models that are completely passive and the value of the Zotac GT 730 seems to have plateaued so I think I can get my money back on the card I bought initially and upgrade to passive cooling. Regardless what I observed is with my setup was without hardware encoding, my CPU had all 4 cores very busy out when encoding h.264 video to a 4G mobile endpoint. With it enabled, the CPU stayed mostly quiet and...to my surprise...so did the GPU (as observed through nvidia-smi). So basically when it comes down to it, if you're just trying to get a card for NVENC support price trumps all and ram capcity, outputs, etc don't need to be considered (I actually use the onboard graphics controller for my rig). I attached 2 screenshots of me streaming a video to my phone over a 4G connection; the first is with CPU where you can see it fluctuating around roughly 40-60% utilization on all cores as it refills the streaming buffer vs the GPU enhanced version where you just see one core bouncing around probably doing network related processes while the GPU takes care of the rest. Take note, the GPU barely moves in terms of utilization, only showing a 32MB increase in the memory utilization. This effectively multiplies the number of clients I can stream to by the number of cores I have. So in this specific example, with no hardware acceleration, I could maybe get 2 devices streaming while maxing out my CPU and doing nothing else on my NAS, but with hardware acceleration I could easily encode h264 to 8 clients or just stream to 4 and still be able to use 2 cores worth of processing power. There is a limitation however in that this only works when directly playing videos remotely; for some reason PLEX was inconsistent on whether it would use the GPU to encode stuff while using the sync feature (and seemed to default to CPU/direct file upload) and local network playback was almost always a direct file playback. The counter argument is just to get an Nvidia Shield which supports NVENC, but if I already have a NAS or I want to have my Plex box function as a NAS, then adding a $40-$50 card that supports NVENC is much cheaper than the price of a Shield. For someone wanting to build a NAS and a dedicated Plex server, the value proposition of adding an entry level Kepler video card to the NAS is hard to beat. I even attached 2 builds for a 1TB mirrored NAS barebones with 8GB of ram that would support Plex Hardware encoding for just under $400 if you want a slick looking Fractal Design Node 202 case or a 'fat' version of the same hardware for just over $330 if you'd rather go with the Cougar MG110 and 3.5" drives. You can obviously swap out to a different motherboard to get more SATA ports and add drives as desired to you NAS spec, though if you want to stick to the ASROCK embedded solutions you'll need to switch to a 1x PCIE card such as the Zotac GT 710 which may actually be desired because it's passively cooled, making your entire NAS box fanless if you stick with the Asrock solutions. In summation though; I have NO issues with the arguments presented in the videos about the value proposition for getting GPU performance per dollar. However if you just need NVENC, GPU performance is moot compared to whether the card supports NVENC. This is purely an edge-case where I only needed an NVENC enabled card and after digging to the bottom of the barrel for cards available I found the performance for NVENC was what I needed and the value proposition for someone trying to do the same as I is very hard to beat. Thanks for reading this and would love to see the Linus Media Group team give an overview of NVENC and what it's utility could provide to non-gamers or NAS owners wanting to take some load off of their CPU when streaming videos through Plex. Love the channel and will continue watching even if this post turns into a flame on my build :). EDIT 201802171209EST: It was noted in the replies that AMD APU's can support VCE which is a similar hardware encoding utility. This could also work if you're building a budget system from scratch, but for those who have an existing system with an incompatible socket to an AMD APU, I still think a budget Kepler card is the best way to go. Additionally, if you plan on using hardware encoding for Plex (like I was), VCE isn't supported anyway so an NVIDIA NVENC enabled card is the only way to go. 10. Hey gang! I've been yearning for a new gaming PC for a few years now, but because I was waiting for permanent residence in Canada, I couldn't pull the trigger until I knew I wouldn't have to move back home to Ireland. Permanent residence came through in November, and now that Christmas is over, I can afford to start ordering parts. I've put together a build that I hope will suit my needs here: https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/TzWKPs I tried to keep everything under $1000 CAD including taxes and shipping, but I have absolutely no clue about whether or not the CPU/GPU/Memory is going to create a bottleneck or simply not work with the components I've chosen. I also understand that using the PSU that comes supplied with the case isn't ideal, but it seems like a good way to shave a few dollars off the cost of everything and I'll upgrade it in future. Ideally, I'd love to be able to upgrade parts bit by bit as money becomes available, but would like to start with something relatively manageable. I'll be playing WOW, Diablo 3 and a little PUBG, as well as some light photo, video and audio editing. 3D modelling and rendering would be a bonus too, but I'll be focusing on low poly stuff. Would the CPU/GPU combo be able to handle that? I'd love to get you guys's opinions on this and maybe an alternative build or substitute parts that you think would be better. Many thanks in advance everyone!
  11. AMD's CES Tech day just concluded and new CPUs are confirmed to launch on April 2018, should I wait for the new CPUs to come out or should I just buy the available Ryzen CPUs today?
  12. The most I will spend is $125, I don't want to get a DAC. I just want an entry level open back, over the ear pair. Whats a fantastic pair of open back, over the ear headphones for the price?

  15. Hey guys, so I'm really torn about which display I want to choose for my budget gaming/work computer, and was wondering if any of you could give me some advice since I'm new to the pc building world. Obviously the Benq is going to be a little cheaper than the asus, but will you get a better bang for your buck if you dish out a little more for that 144hz that the asus is puting out. Let me know what you think, I'm trying to save as much money as possible for my budget build. Let me know if there are any other budget monitors that you think have a good bang for the buck.
  16. Hello guys, so i have absolutely zero idea about photography, cameras and lenses. I want to buy something and take some quality pictures with it...... But dont want to spend tons of money on it, because i will not do anything proffesional all i want is some quality pictures. Thanks in advance ! lov you all
  17. Hi guys! What is the cheapest PC you can build that can run GTA 5 without too much lag or problems? And how much would it cost? (Only new parts) and I live in USA. Resolution is 1080p or 900 something and about 30fps or up. Thanks!
  18. Alright guys so I've been doing a little bit of research for the past couple of weeks on diy pc building and I'm really interested in it. I've always been interested in building one, just never had the time or the money. I was wandering if anyone could give me an idea of how good the computer components I have been looking are and whether or not they are compatible. I would also appreciate it if anyone could give me an estimation on how efficient these components will be for gaming. I will be playing games like team fortress 2, Witcher 3, Fallout 4 so It would really help if anyone could tell me if the components I have chosen will be up to par for these games. Here are the components. 20. Im looking for good mid-tower cases that can fit an atx motherboard and a 120mm or 240mm radiator fan.
  21. Hey guys. So this build is based off Austin Evans' "Axion" $400 PC build. These are the components he used. Intel Pentium G3258: http://amzn.to/1xsW92J MSI Radeon R7 250X: http://amzn.to/1CLhRPU MSI H81M-E34: http://amzn.to/1HtBBGU 8GB Crucial Ballistix Sport: http://amzn.to/1EDDvlz 1TB Western Digital Blue: http://amzn.to/1yfAaGK 430W Corsair CX430: http://amzn.to/1HtCjDY Fractal Design Core 1100: http://amzn.to/1FSj6xp I was thinking of getting rid of the G3258 and putting in a AMD A10-Series APU A10-7800 with Radeon R7 Series (AD7800YBJABOX) for $132. So I could run it in Crossfire and get a little more juice right? Well yes I will go over the $400 budget, but is it worth it?
  22. I was told to go to this site for advice, as I am Planing to build a PC. i have no tech knowledge, but I looked around and found a page pf builds. the one I'm looking at is $700 Here we are: CPU Intel Core i5-4460 VIEW MOBO Gigabyte GA-H97M-HD3 VIEW GPU EVGA GTX 960 VIEW RAM Crucial Ballistix 8GB VIEW HDD Western Digital Blue 1 TB VIEW CASE Sentey GS-6008 Stealth VIEW PSU Corsair CX430 VIEW ODD Samsung 24x SATA VIEW Does this raise any red flags? any suggestions? sorry if a broke any rules, literally my first time on this site.
  23. I am looking into budget *sort of DSLR cameras. I am very familiar with manual control, and I don't mind a less inventive experience. I was looking at a few different kits. It was between a Nikon D3200 with 2 lenses and a bag for 500 dollars, or a Canon T5i and one lens for 600. The t5i has features and in my opinion, a nicer interface. Some other options are the Sony A58 with one lens and a Nikon 3300 with one lens that I have the money for. The use cases are landscape photography (I love them macros), product photography for a family member's website, and general pictures. I am coming from my Sony Xperia Z2 and a Canon SX20is on which I never use the 20x optical zoom. Edit: I am in Canada, US prices are not applicable, the T5i is considerably more expensive here, about 1.75x if I were to get a similar kit for the D3200.
  24. This is my planned build. Don't worry about budget. I plan on using it for Some tripple A games (hopefully on high 1080p), Gmod, and some indie games. I will be buying the part in section. I would like to know if there are any bottlenecks or general problems with my parts. -NZXT Source 210 Elite Black Steel with painted interior ATX Mid Tower -ASUS M5A97 R2.0 AM3+ AMD 970 + SB950 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard -MSI R9 270 GAMING 2GB 256-Bit GDDR5HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card -CORSAIR CX series CX500 500W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply -AMD FX-6300 Vishera 3.5GHz (4.1GHz Turbo) Socket AM3+ 95W 6-Core Desktop Processor FD6300WMHKBOX -SAMSUNG 840 EVO MZ-7TE120BW 2.5" 120GB SATA III TLC Internal Solid State Drive -G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) Desktop Memory Model F3-14900CL9D-8GBXL -Seagate Barracuda ST1000DM003 1TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive -ASUS 24X DVD Burner - Bulk 24X DVD+R 8X DVD+RW 12X DVD+R DL 24X DVD-R 6X DVD-RW 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-R 32X CD-RW 48X CD-ROM Black SATA Model DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS - OEM -Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64-bit - OEM -Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan
  25. So i am looking into getting a gaming pc for under $650. I was just wondering if this is a good way to spend that money or if you guys have anything i could change to get more bang for my buck. I also already have speakers, a heasdet, monitor, and windows 7. Any opinions would be apreciated. Thanks http://pcpartpicker.com/p/DtBzXL
