I have a spare server I'm not using. Is there a way to cache some of my streaming services (ie. HBO Max, Hulu, Netflix) for a rainy day? Especially if I am having an internet/power outage or slow internet (I have cable internet, so sometimes slows down during peak usage hours.) I know you can do this with services like Steam, Origin, & Ubisoft. I have my doubts, but it doesn't hurt to ask. Possibly something like an Edge-CDN? (Might have that wrong.) Thanks in advance for any advice!

ERB is my favorite YouTube channel of all time. I truly love what they do. However, they barely release rap battles any more. They make videos every week on their second channel (ERB2) where they do matchup reactions, and they recently released a paid masterclass in writing lyrics. But… they literally do everything besides releasing new battles - what is what I’m here for. Why do matchup reactions when we barely even get rap battles? Any other ERB fans on this forum, thoughts? Am I wrong here?

ok so i have a 2u server in my basement. use it for backups since theres like a million drives in it connected in different arrangements - thats another story. over the years torrents have collected, thats how things go. purchase a game, it isnt on steam/psn anymore, well? plus i find it unfair that i have to repurchase a game because its a pc port. take the last of us for example. Through PSN ive purchased it for my ps3/ps4/ps5, should it be purchased again??? anywho not condoning piracy, just saying. I get DCMA letters about Metal Gear when ive purchased every game at least 3x over, but im in trouble? Even the original metal gear for ps1, geez i purchased the physical CDs so many times over... Lost in oblivion except for the library of the internet! how can i share my junk without having them in utorrent/transmission? The files exist just not the magnets and so on, utorrent is always fired up. There must be a simple way to seed something that matches the checksum, how to do it? thanks peeps!

Hi guys im Juan, from Colombia, yesterday Disney plus was released in mostly all LATAM... But when the most authentic fans search for all the content was clearly half or less the content (The simpsons only seasons 29/30), but in the service offered by Disney+ in some other continents the Simpsons are complete all the seasons, my very first question here is: Can Disney+ be used with a VPN? also what would be the best VPN for the case. Also my account RECENTLY created and billed in South America CAN use the VPN services and not getting banned by Disney+ (I mean the account was created yesterday and now its connecting to other 3 continents) dude wtf that´s suspicious.... This can be a ban on Disney+?

Hey everybody, So.. I'm going to study abroad this August. I'll be living on my campus so I won't have TV or any of that stuff. I have a ASUS UX303, an LG 29" Ultrawide, and some Razer gear. I was thinking that aside college, I will have to entertain myself with YouTube, Netflix, Spotify and gaming. I want to sell some of my stuff to buy a new laptop, something that can handle this things and even more. I will be studying software engineering so for that matter is not that important. Anyways, I want something powerful to handle gaming mostly, and a good resolution will be really good since I do design work once in a while. I really love the Razer family so I was thinking about getting a Razer Blade 14" 1TB SSD. I've heard awesome comments for this laptop, even from Linus himself. But I don't know if there are better choices... I've heard the Dell XPS 15 is awesome too, hardware is not really my thinking. So, any of you guys have any suggestions for what I require? Performance is key, so having a good graphics card, good ram and a good display is really important. Thank you in advance.

As the title suggests, I'm looking for a new laptop for general purpose + heavy web browsing + entertainment purpose. Budget : $700 ( ₹ 50,000 ) Country : India The required specifications are as below. CPU: Core i5 or Ryzen 5 RAM : 8 GB DDR4 Screen : 15.6" or more ( bright and vibrant color) Display type : IPS is highly preferred but a great TN panel with good color accuracy and good brightness-contrast ratio will work too. OS : Windows 10 CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? : None. Things which don't matter: Form factor, battery life, thickness, weight, or build quality. I will use this laptop mostly indoor and keep it plugged in. A backlit keyboard will be good. But it's not absolute necessary. I'm looking for a better than good display for movie watching experience and YouTube streaming with good brightness and color accuracy. I looked up many laptops but many of them sell TN,VA or TFT display. The ones which sell IPS display have low color accuracy with not so bright screen. I was unsatisfied with the most displays which fall in my budget. A friend of mine suggested me to get a laptop with decent IPS display and use a software for color calibration. I'm not sure how much it will change the quality of output. If you have any experience regarding this then please do share. I want to use this laptop for 3-4 years at least. Thanks

I wanted to do this build in a white silverstone sg13 but the store I usually buy from ran out of stock for the white case, so the only other slim white case was the silverstone Rvz03. The build is black and white themed but has a little accent of red. (all prices are in SGD [singapore dollars]) Silverstone RVZ03 (white) - $179.00 Msi B450i gaming plus ac motherboard - $229.00 Ryzen R5 2600X - $239.00 Cryorig C7 - $46.00 Crucial Ballistix Elite 3200mhz cl15 (black) 16gb - $179.00 Zotac RTX 2080 Twin fan 8gb non-oc - $1070.00 Samsung 970 Evo 250gb m.2 nvme ssd (windows 10 + drivers) - $149.00 T-force gaming delta 1tb 2.5 inch ssd (emulator / games) - $245.00 T-force gaming delta 1tb 2.5 inch ssd (storage use) - $245.00 Silverstone 600w SX600 80+ gold $128.00 Total - $2709.00 (just system) Details I chose the ryzen R5 2600x over the 2600 because the store owner adviced that if I oc in that case it my get too hot for the cpu, so I went with the X with stock speeds. I didn't see the point for rgb since it's all covered up. I chose the T-force delta ssds because they were the cheapest ssd in stock not because of rgb. The zotac's gpu was the best value for money considering the Asus Rtx2070 is the same price. The crucial ram was also the cheapest in stock, there was another option from corsair but not in theme color. End up my gaming pc costing more then my editing pc at work.

A while back I was reading a thing about streamers using secondary computers to handle their streaming exclusively. After much debate I've I'm going to work on just building a modern proper system instead of dumping my money into a 4790k that although a good CPU won't be able to continue to hold up to future cpus. So I got to thinking, could I use the 4790K system exclusively for a streaming pass through to unload the games I'm playing on a 12 core 3900x? Essentially taking everything I am playing from one system or the main system that's capturing console ect and camera feeds and running it through to another system using the 4790K and streaming from that computer. Would it be able to handle 4K streaming? 1080p? Would I need a powerful graphics card for that, feedback would be appreciated.

Hi Guys, I've came across a meme in a Taiwanese entertainment Facebook page "James Is Curly"(姆士捲) , which translates foreign content into Mandarin Chinese, and saw Linus featured in it and I thought gotta share it to you guys haha XD This meme translated into English as below: Text above(Linus Pic): "Me when playing horror games." Text below: "Me when hearing weird noises in Minecraft." Here's the original Facebook post, which already got over 5K likes in one hour:

Hi, When I go on to YouTube on my PC - and I watch a Video - there are Red and White patches/dots all over the video I have tried to capture this through these 2 images. These marks on the video that you see move around and I think they change based on light, however I am not sure Thanks in advance, Tobias

Good afternoon, I ran into an interesting problem today. I have an MSI laptop thats has an RGB keyboard and this can be controlled via the Dragon center on my laptop app and on the phone app and the phone app use only WiFi connection which does work nomally. Today I tried to play songs on spotify with my phone that is connected to the laptop and I wanted the keyboard to change its RGB pattern. So I connect the Spotify app on my phone and my laptop starts playing music and when I accessed the dragon app it could not connect to my laptop and vice versa. So why cant I connect both apps at the same time through wifi? I am not upset about this but just curious if someone knows why

I've always wanted to make gaming music videos but in fear of copyright strikes I've shy'd away from it. However I've found quite a few channels have managed to use some very popular songs with seemingly no negative effects. So I decided to do some reading which only lead to more confusion, hence why I'm asking here now. I've checked out a few songs I want to use by various fairly popular artists via YouTube's Creator Studio Music Policies section. Below is a screenshot of what they say that's confusing me along with my questions explaining how. I understand the owner of the music can monetize my video that uses their song & I really don't mind this. As a matter of fact I'm completely for it because it's the least I can do to say thanks for them making something I can get ideas from. In general it boils down to many telling me to not ever use another's work even if I give credit & there's no actual statement saying I can't use a specific thing. 1: If I use a song that's "viewable worldwide", I don't try to monetize it myself & I give credit to the original artist in the video & or it's description, can it or my channel still get a copyright strike? 2: If so then why does Youtube not give the same initial statement of "you can't use this song in any of your videos" as they do for other popular songs?

Lets start of simple: If you had to write a life story of your great grandmother or Batman, which would be longer, more detailed? Probably Batmans. So my problem is that I'm scared of filling my head with pointless fictional information each time I watch a movie or play a game. I know the locations of all ammo nations in GTA's, but I don't know where the nearest hospital is. I don't know all the laws of thermodynamics, but I know the names of guardians of the galaxy, even thought I saw it once. I know that the human "storage" is 2,5 PB, but I still feel like I'm wasting my brain room on pointless stuff. All the game maps, hiding spots, game dynamics, characters, stories, dialogues, is still in my head, even thought I have played each game once, or watched a movie. Sorry for the long rant, if you have anything to add leave a reply.

I won't lie guys. This is a business I've been thinking about starting for years and honestly, it's still 4-5 years off since I'm 23. For now, my best work towards this goal is perfecting the future of entertainment experiences. What does any of this mean? Well, it means I've been getting into some dope ass tech yo. I imagine that this place will be the perfect permanent LAN but could also have much versatility similar to how public property works. I want this place to be made for and inspired by gamers and tech enthusiasts because that's my friend group. So. This building would have to be a multiroom place with a central communal area. I plan to use the communal area for ambient or priority media consumption. - This would mean that most of the time this projector / giant tv setting up will be streaming entertainment. - Priority media consumptions are things like internet tournaments, new videos from partners, LAN tournaments, in-house tournaments - Priority media will also be mass media events like bowl games, championships, the oscars for lulz, and even elections. - Of course, you could play on whatever display this is. Other rooms would be designed for a traditional LAN experience where you're given some form of privacy or group setting. I want every desk to have wheels and the computers to function wirelessly so that they can be rolled around and need only 1 plug for the entire desktop to function. Desks don't have to have a purpose and can be rolled around for pop up events like a DND campaign or a bring your own desktop, laptop LAN. Of course, the peak of entertainment will need a food source or some kind of staff ready to feed you. This place isn't designed to be a restaurant but I think it'd be cool to go somewhere and know you'll be guaranteed a meal or free delivery of a 3rd party meal. I love virtual reality and think this place would awesome for showing it off and inspiring others to pursue applications in it or simply purchase. I see this place as a media and education resource. You can come here to learn about game strategy, esports, technology, programming, and how to build a computer. Or you can come and just be entertained. I feel like this matters, I live in Southern California which is heavily populated and has a mature esports scene. I think I've described plenty of experiences and services offered here and a majority of these would get me out of the house, often with friends and possibility on an individual basis. If none of these experiences sound cool to you, let me know! If you have some that you can think of, let me know! If you think something should be changed, let me know! This post is about the experiences and not the financials. Please share your thoughts on the entertainment options and if enough people are interested I will describe pricing structure and operating costs.

I was just wondering who your favorite anime characters are. Currently, I really like the Tokyo Ghoul anime. So out of that, my two favorite characters are Uta and Noro. I think it is cool how Uta never uses his kagune and apparently was very powerful before he became a mask maker. Also apparently, even tho he is a ghoul, he tattooed his eyes to be that of a ghoul. I think Noro is cool because he is completely silent and a complete badass. His kagune is very powerful and he can eat with it, also his regenerative skills are through the roof. So those are my favorite anime characters currently. My question is, what are yours?

I have seen and played many anime games. And I must say, they sucked. With these horrible graphics and gameplay, I just could not play them anymore. To make a game where everyone can enjoy every aspect, you need to make it fully customizable. Take, for example, GTA V with a fully customizable character where you can be with other people and do what you want. To transfer this into the anime genre, you need to eliminate the game over one character. Let us say, for example, if someone wanted to make a new Tokyo Ghoul game. Traditional anime games would put you in a world where it copied everything from the anime and you just played Kaneki. I think you should be able to make your own character, decide whether it is for the police, ghoul terrorist groups, or just ghouls in general. Then you decide, if you are ghoul, how your kagune appears and attacks. Or if you are a CCG Investigator, how you get your quinque. Also, the game should be massively multiplayer where different people interact and fight. That's what I think, anime gaming should be. I am not saying to totally reform the anime gaming genre, but to make games like this, which truly grab people's attention. This idea might be dumb, but it what I think should be the future of Anime Gaming.

Alright i'll try to be as concise as possible. I am a graduating Physics and Math major and I am an avid programmer as well. In a few months time i'll be needing a PC with some serious horse power due to my work. I plan on working as a computational physicist or mathematician doing simulations and writing code for those kinds of tasks. However my current Gaming/Overclocking PC is not cut out for the task at all a Quadcore i7, GTX760, and 16GB of RAM just don't cut it. I will be needing some really Heavy Horsepower. I am not very well versed in buying components at this price range and though I have purchased components in the enthusiast/workstation range I only did it once and determined it wasn't worth it for gaming or simple programming (hyper-threading was nice for programming though) well now i don't really have a choice. In addition i would also like this PC to have some gaming capabilities and media capabilities for when i'm not running simulations or working on it. Though that is an important but secondary choice. Anyway I have a few requirements that i'll list below but I have some general considerations that I need to mention. I want to stick with Nvidia and Intel. I know AMD has great stuff but as far as computation is concerned AMD doesn't have the performance i'll be needing, unless someone can prove to me otherwise. CUDA is nice for computation from Nvidia and the per core performance of Intel as well as hyper threading will be invaluable for my work. In addition though price is not a huge consideration since this will be my work computer just please avoid things like the high level Xeons, Tesla Cards, and Dual Socket Motherboards. I will have a few thousand dollars to spend on this but a machine with those would immediately break that bank. EDIT: PRICE: Keep it under 5k please. I have more available but for the sake of keeping everyone else within budget please use this as a marker. Requirements - Stability and Reliability - High RAM amounts (MIN 32 GB would prefer more. simulations and solidworks will eat ram very quickly) - Drive 3 monitors comfortably one will be 1440p the others 1080p. - High Speed, reliability and Capacity Storage Options (not just SSDs i couldn't afford several terabytes of SSD arrays for calculations not when I need a good CPU and GPU(s)) - SSD boot and media Drive(s) - Heavy Parallelization - Visualization Technology - Motherboard Connectivity (USB 3.1 and Thunderbolt (thunderbolt is great for raw data transfers), Esata? (if that is still a standard)) - Good Gaming Performance - Lots of possible Expansion for anything I may need for work - CUDA Software Stuff - Dual Booting Linux/Windows - Good Inter-connectivity with Laptop/phone so i can check on simulations remotely Luxuries (Nice things) - Double Precision Floating Point Performance (I know that is a tesla card but if there is anything with good floating point performance that will greatly speed up simulations) - Great/Excellent Gaming Performance - Rendering capabilities for physics/math tutoring videos - Water cooling Expandability - Fits in Phanteks Evolv ATX - Overclocking Capabilities - Running small local game servers (I do host small LAN parties occasionally) - V/R ready (i have been wanting VR since i was a wee lad) Obviously Please stick to my requirements for parting out a basic build, if any of my luxuries get into the build then that would be excellent but that isn't essential. I just want a work computer that I can use for gaming and entertainment whenever i'm not running simulations or doing calculations. Please and thank you guys this will be my first high performance PC so I would like to get the best bang for my dollar at this price range. Obviously don't cut too many corners. Thanks everyone!

tablets are getting kule these days. But thats not what i came for.. i realise that the overall convinience of just having a single tablet with a stylus sorta thing.. can help me with just doing working on a math question for instance.. and help alot for presentation on the go.. I am a sucker for nice screens... viewing angle and colour in particular.. brightness needs to be decent.. Battery Life being decent will do.. I do not know if there is a tablet that wont register the rest of my hand when im writing using the stylus..(am a noob about this..) so if there is such feature.. lemme know as well. So what do you guys recommend? Tbh this thread may answer the mainstream market as well haha

Original Article: http://www.engadget.com/2016/01/26/sony-interactive-entertainment-llc/ Title says it all really. Sony is going to be cutting ties with it's PlayStation brand and forming a new "separate" company out of the new division. The new company is rumored to be called "Sony Interactive Entertainment LLC" It is to combine Sony computer Entertainment with Sony Network Entertainment and will be led under Andrew House as CEO. No much is said to change, but the company will now have its HQ based in California, and will officially class "April 1st as its first say of business" EDIT: And will have a starting capital of $2 Million Many are speculating this is due to Sony's recent financial struggle, even though its mobile division is not holding strong - Sony is succeeding in other ares such as Cameras and modules which it leases to other smartphone manufactures. People are joking at the fact that Sony can change it's name, but users cannot change their PSN names... My thoughts: Not much to say. They are splitting off profitable segments of their business, probably due to their recent financial issues and having to dispose of some sub-businesses (Just my thought, probably not true) but overall, this shouldn't really affect the mass public for the time being. Your thoughts? Please leave them down below!

Hey fellow PC peeps, I am currently looking to upgrade my build due to the lack of speed for my rendering files, currently I have this build: AMD FX8350 8core 4.0GHZ 8GB DDR3 1866mhz RAM GTX 970 FTW+ MSI MOBA Corsair H100i 240GB intel SSD 2TB WD HDD I am looking into going SLI as well as upgrading my RAM, however I do believe there are better processors out there for my purposes, and yes I'm willing to change to INTEL. I use my PC for; my primary hard dedicated gaming, streaming 24/7, and project rendering on after effects, sony vegas, as well as, autocad, maya, eclipse, and much more. Please help me out in finding the right parts to get the perfect build I can possibly get. My thoughts so far are getting the SLI 970s, getting a completely different processor such as the 5930K from intel, and putting in 32GB of DDR4 RAM at 2133MHz ANY THOUGHTS or OPINIONS?

Hello! First off, I want to apologize the numerous posts about my upgrade plannings in the past, but FINALLY I have the money to do it! and I want to do it goood! So, I am planning to upgrade my GPU and PSU and some other parts not so important like the case and maybe adding memory. I am currently running on this build: CPU: Intel i5 4570 3.20Ghz Motherboard: ASUS H97-PLUS GPU: Sapphire Radeon HD 6950 2Gb RAM: 8Gb Kingston HyperX Fury, DDR3 1866MHz PSU: LC-Power 700W semimodular (Really old and not sure about the model but maybe LC8700 V2.2 Hyperion. Bought it back in 2007-2008 I think). SSD: Kingston 120Gb V300 HDD: 1Tb Seagate Barracuda 7200rpm OS: Windows 10 64bit Looking to upgrade to these: GPU: Asus Strix GTX 970 DirectCU II OC, 4Gb PSU: Not sure what. I want to have reliable, good for electricity bills and sufficient PSU. Also gonna style the build a bit (sleeved cables) so modular cables are a plus. RAM: Another kit of the same set I have but is it a overkill? I'm using a 1440p monitor right now for my work but my PC is hooked to my 1080p TV. Soon I'll be having both my computers hooked up to the 1440p monitor so I need a system to run most games on high/ultra 45-60+ fps for the near future. I haven't landed on the GTX 970 yet and I'm asking for advice for this 1080p/1440p gaming. I've considered even the R9 390/390X or the GTX 980 but I am worried about the AMD power consumption. If I would go for the 390X would my bills increase significally or not so much that I'd notice? :D:D I just need a GPU that runs for me the next 2-5 years at high fps for 1080p/1440p monitor but is reliable. Same goes for the PSU. I need it to cover my rig's power consumption but have no idea how to calculate it or choose a quality one. I would order my components from http://www.mindfactory.de/ because of the cheaper prices (I live in Finland) allthough there is now a offer for the GTX 970 at my local store: Asus Strix GTX 970 DirectCU II OC, 4Gb + Samsung 850 EVO 250GB + Download codes for The Division and Far Cry Primal for just 399€ If you could suggest a GPU and PSU for me for this build for this use, I would be hugely appreciative since I could spend my money knowing I got every bang for the buck. My budget is flexible but want to keep it at value. Thank you so much!
