Dear Users, I have always wanted either a go kart or to repurpose a tractor or lawnmower into a little drift demon, but I am worried about so many things about kart/vehicle construction. Here are some topics that if you know stuff about lets discuss! I want to build two vehicles currently, one slow and one fast. A) If I go for a gas engine, how much horsepower would I need to go slow? And how much to go fast? Say my craft is 250 pounds including my weight, would a 7 hp engine be nice, or what equations can I use to calculate this. B) If I go for a electric motor and some fat batteries what equations are there to calculate how many Watts I would need to go fast or slow, any info on this would be great. C) If I want to rebuild or build my own front of the car, how do I build an axle and connect body work onto it? Any ideas? D) How do I know if my chassis can stand the forces I will be placing on it? Should I make everything out of iron or steel? Do I need like a roll cage for stability? I was gonna build the body work with wood. I really dont need to have my vehicle break at speed. E) How do I connect a steering wheel to an axle or do they come as a combo? Any videos or links would be awesome. I know this all may sound vague and like I dont know what I am doing and haven't done a lot of research, but I have, most go kart builds start with a pre built go kart or something thats expensive, I want to build something so custom that I want to DYI it all with literally 0 knowledge beforehand. Absolute learning time. Thanks! -GEESMAN

Hey guys, so in a facebook group I saw a lot of pzople using those let's say dynamic wallpaper using a thing found on steam called "wallpaper engine". Now my question is this worth my money? And, is there any similar better/similar program that is free to use?

Different v-sync options can have different different amounts of input delay. Linus has a few youtube videos that shows it, like this one. Can different video game engines have the some differences in input delay, since they are all programmed different?

Hi LTT-Community! I am still new to this forum, so I hope I am doing nothing wrong here I recently recorded landscapes in Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The PreSequel and want to share them with you. You can use them in Wallpaper Engine to create beautiful live wallpapers, if you like this kind of stuff (like me :D). They are 5 to 20min long. PC BUILD - ADVICE AND RECOMMENDATIONS WELCOMED
AspiringDev posted a topic in New Builds and Planning
Hello, I'm building a new PC which will be used for games development, running UE4, as well as playing games on high/max settings. These are the current parts for the PC: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/rnDzRG I've decided to pick either of these liquid coolers listed below, but I'm open to suggestions of both performance and aesthetics within the same price range: NZXT Kraken X62 Liquid CPU Cooler OR Corsair H100i v2 70.7 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler In addition, I've decided that I'll most likely be getting the following peripherals, but I'm open to suggestions of better alternatives within the same price range: Monitor: BenQ GL2460HM 24.0" Keyboard: Corsair Gaming K70 RGB Mechanical Gaming Keyboard — Cherry MX Red From the parts listed on PCPP do you believe they're excellent for the intended purpose? I'm opened to suggestions and thanks for taking time to view my thread.- 8 replies

source: https://blogs.unity3d.com/2017/03/31/5-6-is-now-available-and-completes-the-unity-5-cycle/ don't get me wrong .. I like that they support Vulkan, but I loathe the engine as a whole - the most shittiest performance I have seen in a modern game engine I dunno, maybe they got better over the years maybe not; maybe with their new generation, 6, they'll get a perf overhaul --- Unity is a cross platform game engine that was released back in 2005 Unity can be used to develop PC, mobile, console and web (in browser) games - Unity is currently available for 27 platforms, including the newly released Nintendo Switch

My problem is that in my unity game when you press a key the mouse will freeze. I want to use the mouse input and while a key is being held down (imagine something like an FPS camera). I think that issue is that the mouse is being locked when the key is pressed, but I can't work out how to stop it from happening. This happens across projects, so I think that it isn't an issue with my code/ something I've done, but just in case here is some code that I think is relevant: public class MouseMovement : MonoBehaviour { public GameObject myObject; public float speed; void Update () { myObject.transform.Rotate(Input.GetAxis("Mouse Y") * Time.deltaTime * speed, 0.0f, 0.0f); /// handle other axis in same way. } } and : public class KeybourdMovement : MonoBehaviour { public GameObject myObject; public float speed; void Update () { if (Input.anyKey) { if (Input.GetKey(KeyCode.W)) { myObject.transform.Translate(Vector3.forward * Time.deltaTime * speed); } //handle the ASD in the same way } } As a side note I'm using Unity 5.5.0f3. So if somebody could point me in the right direction, it would would very helpful.

What is in your opinion the longest lasting, or the most future proof engine in current use you can think of? PC Games, Mobile games, Console games, doesn't matter

I've only played 10 or so minutes of Star Marine having just finished downloading the game, but there are a few things I noticed. 1. The game seems to constantly write to my HDD at about 5 to 15 MB/s, or at least that's what task manager is showing. Is this normal? 2. I've got it on low graphics settings already, but it chugs a little bit because my CPU is getting up to almost 100% usage (i5-4460). It's perfectly fine and smooth most of the time, but occasionally blips and freezes. Is there any way I can help this a bit? 3. The motion blur. I hate any and all motion blur. Can I disable it in any way?

I think I have narrowed down my decision to what I want to replaced my Klipsch Media Pro 2.1 with. Te reason I'm replacing them is because I need either a 2.1 system with a smaller sub or go with a 2.0 system. I guess I can classify myself as a multi media user that games. I'm trying to decide between the Audio Engine A5+ (2.0 setup) or the All new Creative Labs Sound Blaster Katana. The Katana is a all new sound bar for computer use created by creative labs that is centered towards gamers. So far the reviewers are giving the Katana top picks in SQ and features and I know the A5+ would be a great set up as well. I would go after the A5+ if it wasn't for not having a proper DAC for those speakers and I didn't know how well some of my music and games would sound on the a5+ and I wonder how well it would take to stock MB sound. Personally, I love clarity with some bass rumble to it. If anyone has any knowledge about the A5+ or a better unit for about $300 usd, give or take $25, please let me know ASAP. The A5+ sale is engine tomorrow and I rather get the units while they are $319 on Amazon.

Hi friends, sorry for bad english. i'm experiencing a nasty problem with my 1080 Aorus, for those who don't know it has rgb lighting and it is controlled only via the Gigabyte's proprietary software "Aorus Engine" which controls the overclock too. So the problem is that i use Msi Afterburner to have an OSD while playing and seems like it is interfering with the Gigabyte's program, i cannot set the overclock because if i leave the Afterburner settings on default it will "Lock" the voltage limit of the card to stock even if on the Aorus engine is all the way up to 150% (I found a stable OC +125 core +400mem) while if i overclock only via Afterburner everytime i restart the setting are not applied because the other program loads a bit after the msi so it overrides the settings (yeah i could set manually everytime i log in but i think there is a smarter way) Seems like afterburner is controlling the Voltage and power settings while Aorus the frequencies, this creates stutter and frametime spikes in games such as Rust PUBG FFXV etc. The funny part is that i cannot uninstall the card software otherwise the led would go white, at the same time i wan't to monitor the system via MSI's OSD because i love that program, is there any way i can get the rgb controls without the app? Thank you

I'm just some hick kid but I installed a SSD into a Dell XPS 8700, I keep getting a BSOD and the final thing (after fixing whatever else I could) that seems to error is this intel management engine. I get this troubleshooter saying restart the pc... yeah for like the 160th time? For some reason, the restart isn't finalizing the install of this driver I was going to uninstall and reinstall (checking for updates does nothing to fix it.) but I'm really worried that this might kill my pc. I guess it's responsible for the boot sequence or something some sort of security feature maybe. I want to know how to try my uninstall reinstall fix safely. Dang if you could offer any other tips I'd take them too. The dell xps is from 2013 Dell 0KWVT8 -MOBO I7 4770 -cpu Kingston A400 480GB SATA III -ssd/boot Seagate Desktop HDD ST1000DM003 1TB -hdd/oldboot 4x4gb ddr3 Original video -

So I was helping my brother fix his car, fitting a new radiator. I noticed they were really quite similar to a PC radiator and thought "Hey, could this be used for a PC?" Given how cheap they can be at a breakers yard (the same price as a regular pc radiator), I wonder if anyone had tried it before. Ignoring the obvious impracticalities of having such a large radiator, Is this something feasible? would it perform any good? Has anyone done this before?

They have release a detection tool for both linux and windows, so you can scan and check out whether your system has the ME flaw or not. Detection Tool https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/27150 https://www.wired.com/story/intel-management-engine-vulnerabilities-pcs-servers-iot/amp

I found out about this recently and I'm no expert but it looks really bad. Very sneaky of them to have, what looks to me, like a perfect backdoor disguised as a feature for big companies . Apparently, it affects everyone who has an intel cpu 6th gen (Skylake) onwards. Here the link to intel's detection tool. And this is intel's official response with all the details, affected systems and detection tool, etc. I unfortunately have a 6600k+Z170 Pro Gaming, so I'm going to have to update my BIOS to fix this. Atleast that's what the update tool from Asus is telling me to do. What a mess, I really don't want to brick my system for this. https://arstechnica.com/information-technology/2017/11/intel-warns-of-widespread-vulnerability-in-pc-server-device-firmware/

My Third person character is working normal and fine in another level of my project, but when I drag the character to another level that is using streaming levels, it possess the character for a fraction of a second, then it disappears and I can't move the camera. I have tried changing the kill Z and level bounds, but it doesn't make a difference. Game mode is the same as the other maps where the character works. It doesn't matter what character bp I use. When I drag in one that is not being possessed, disappears also. I've posted this to the Unreal forums, but its been a while since I've posted it.
