Hi, a few weeks ago I got a rasberry pi, It came with NOOBS (new out of box software) and with it I downloaded recalbox OS, powered by emulation station. now, with NOOBS, the wifi worked perfectly fine, just clicked on the network, entered the password, and downloaded stuff normally. now, with recalbox, I have to enter the ssid and password, along with hostname. I cant change the IP address, and it is 0.0.0.1 . it simply wont connect, when trying to force it to connect with the router, it either doesn't notice it or tells me that it failed to cnnect with no explanation of why. every site I have looked at regarding this problem gives me a load of tech jargon that makes no sense to me, so an answer ith as little jargon as possible would be appreciated.

I am new to PC gaming & one of the main reasons why I wanna build one is because of how great emulators are. I will be running a Ryzen 5 1600 with a RX 580 8GB. Is the Ryzen 5 1600 a good CPU for emulators or should i get something better? I heard that emulators are more CPU heavy then GPU heavy so I wanna ask if i will be all set or if i need to get a better GPU or CPU

So tonight I was messing around with ePSXe trying to get Crash Bandicoot (Playing off the original CD-ROM) to run using a DualShock 4 as a controller. I installed DS4 Windows, hid the DS4 but still couldn’t get it to work. Any ideas on what could help me?

Hello I am buying a laptop that should be able to run 8-10 LDplayer emulators on which I would play poker smoothly. I have done some research and if im not mistaken the most important thing for this is processor. Is Intel® Core™ i7-9750H Processor good enough for this? ( https://ark.intel.com/content/www/us...-4-50-ghz.html)The laptop I am considering is Lenovo Legion Y540-15 with these specs: https://paste.pics/c2d9a5eb691a50a3be3657bef5481b8dThis laptop price would be cca 1100eur.Any other suggestions of laptops/tips on what else to focus on when buying a laptop for this task are welcome!

Which cpu is better for running emulators like rpcs3 and for vw vare? Will the ryzen 9 3900 12 core have a significant performance increase compared to 4800h 8 core (this is for only emulation not gaming) I've seen i9 8 core run rpsc3 games smoothing around 60fps and wanted similar performance but not spend as much so will the increase core count really matter?

Hi, Hope everyone is well! I am new to coding and wanted to start learning Xamarin and C# using Visual Code. Went throughout the whole set up processes and then got stuck at creating an Emulator. The VS code device manager downloaded and created a Pixel 2 device, but I could not run it. I needed to install HAXM, so I went and got an Intel HAXM installer which I ran and kept getting this (see attached). TroubleShooting that I did: Enabled and disabled VMX in Bios and VM-D Turned Hyper V on and off, then off(I know you have to keep it off) Turned off windows hypervisor Turned off Virtual Machine Platform Turned off Windows Sandbox PC: INtel Pentium G5420 Gold RX 580 8gb 16gb Klevv Ram Windows 10 I have no idea what else to try. Any help would be awesome! Thank you

I've built a few systems since converting to the PC master-race, but I'm no where near a professional so any input would be helpful. The issue I have is the idea to build a lower end rig strictly for older titles and emulators because I want to have my own nostalgia box and I don't want to use my main rig because its also my work station for school and work. I understand that I could just go out and buy a used console, but my luck with used tech has been less than stellar. As far as the actual games, there wont be anything much newer than 2008. I have some older hardware lying around but I'm still missing some key components ex. graphics card, motherboard, etc. I have a good idea on what I want for most things I'm missing. The one piece I'm having trouble deciding on is the graphics card. I've never focused on low end so I don't know what has a good price/performance ratio. Also some of the games I want to play, believe it or not, run on PhysX. Obviously, the card doesn't have to be PhysX dedicated, but it would be nice to have it pre-loaded as it seems no one really has those drivers (unless someone can point me in the right direction). The build is form-factor so id prefer it to be as small as possible. The only real thought i have is maybe a gt 710 or gt 730, but again this isn't my comfort zone. I have only a small idea of whats good and bad at this price point. Thanks for any suggestions you guys can think of

Hey guys I am debating about which machine of mine would be best to convert into an emulator station. I am considering using Recalbox x86_64 to run as an operating system, but will also be dual booting. The options I have are: AMD A10-7700K Asus A78M-A mATX Motherboard 4x4GB DDR3 1866 G.Skill Sniper XFX R7 370 4GB OR AMD FX-8120 Asus M5A78L-M/USB3 mATX Motherboard 4x4GB DDR3 1866 G.Skill Sniper EVGA GTX 760 Super Clocked I have both of these machines fully built. I am just struggling with deciding which one would be be the best to go with in building an emulator machine.

Hello everyone, So I might be selling my PC soon and wanted to spend it's last moments with fun... I know there is a emulator named RPCS3 but don't know if it is possible to add the PS3 XMB interface? I have a lot of games and I don't play them because I sold my PS3. Also, I've tried GTA V but the intro is at 4 FPS... I do have a "good" PC. Specs: CPU: AMD Phenom X4 9750 Quad-Core CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 (my love) RAM: (4x2GB) 8GB DDR2 886MHz MOBO: Acer G7200 Predator OEM Motherboard GPU: nVidia GeForce GTX 650 1GB Mini ZoTac PSU: Delta PSU 750W... SSD: 60GB Patriot Flare SSD HDD: 750GB 7200RPM Acer Hard Drive Case: Acer G7200 OEM Case Thanks. ;p

Hey guys, I'm planning to build a budget gaming PC for my colleagues at work. There are a lot of rules in our building that restrict things we can have, but my idea for having a small gaming computer with 4 USB game pad controllers that we can PAT test is being considered as a good idea. Either they'll fund it, or more likely I'll be funding it, thus it's "budget". It will run some PC games, but mostly emulators, due to it being for multiplayer, so think Street Fighter II and Mario Kart titles. I've been thinking about buying the i3-8350K, but since it's an older CPU I'm wondering how it will be able to deal with the purposes of this build. Here is my current buy list, although I'm trying to trim down costs to under £300: I'm looking for a parts list that will give optimal performance in emulation at 1080p60, because that's the kind of TV we have in the lounge. Here's some examples of what basic stuff it will run: Snes9X, VisualBoyAdvance, Gens. But more demandingly: Project64, Dolphin, Citra, Cemu, PCSX2, RPCS3, to name a few. I understand most emulators are much more CPU demanding than GPU, so I'm trying to at least get good Project64 performance at 1080p and maybe some Wii Games on Dolphin running smoothly at that resolution. Any advice is much appreciated!

Hey guys! I'm planning to build a new PC at the end of the month since for the past two years or so, I've just been using my laptop... YIKES! 1. Budget & Location My budget is ~$800 USD. I can go up to $850 after rebates, but no more. Here is my current plan for a new PC (The GPU price isn't listed here, but it will cost me ~170$) https://pcpartpicker.com/list/dFXxhq 2. Aim My aim is to play many modern games with at least 1080p with 60+ FPS, which I can't do with my laptop. I also want to be able to emulate games I own from the GameCube, PS2 and Wii. I would also like to be able to record clips League of Legends. I also need to be able to edit mainly photos and an occasional video. In order of importance: 1) Gaming 2) Photo editing 3) Recording & video editing I will be upgrading it in the future when I have more money to spend. 3. Monitors I already have a monitor, although I can consider recommendations for a new one. I plan to have a second monitor in the future for web browsing on the side (I have a lot of older monitors that I could use for this purpose but they are VGA only). 4. Peripherals I already have a keyboard and mouse. I will probably need an OS. Although I can save money by using a 300 GB hard drive with Windows 7 on it, I'd rather have more space for games and Windows 10. If someone can recommend a good pair of headphones that can muffle background noise effectively for $30 (which wouldn't be a price included in my PC budget), that would be awesome. 5. Why are you upgrading? I'm currently using a laptop that can't handle a lot of the stuff I want to do, as mentioned above. 6. Any major concerns with your build? Is cooling going to be a problem? I think that the 2 stock fans that come with the case and the stock cooler for the processor... Is the power supply I chose too much... It looks like it might be, but I'm not sure if it includes the stock fans and cooler in it's estimate. Sorry if the answer to these concerns seem obvious, I'm pretty new when it comes to PC building

Hey everybody! I'm new here. I've been watching Linus' videos for over a year and he's taught me a lot of what I know about computers, and I am so grateful. Tech stuff actually is, little by little, starting to make sense to me. So, my problem is, I'm trying to run old games/programs. Most are CD-ROMs, but others are from websites like Big Fish Games. A lot of them run on Windows XP, and while I do have a Windows XP computer, I have been advised to not connect to the internet from that computer because it is too old and not supported anymore. So I've been learning about virtualization and emulators, but I'm having a hard time understanding how to emulate properly. Or which emulator to use for Windows XP. Additionally, I want to use an emulator on the newer computer instead of just installing the games on the older computer because I'm wanting to record myself playing these games, and the newer computer has a video recording program installed already. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Hello everyone early today I got a broken original Xbox 360 Arcade for 10 bucks with the sole intent to turn it into a mini ITX pc that will be used solely to run emulators and roms. The idea came from my dad talking about how he wanted to get an Arcade Cabinet filled with old games he enjoyed from his teens (mid 80's) so I thought I would make him something much more portable that did that and more. The goal is to run emulators from SNES all the way up to PS2/Gamecube (if possible) at stable performance via the onboard graphics. However if someone can point me towards a mini ITX capable GPU that can run those then that is fine as well. Below is the build as of now. I would like to keep it within this budget. I can stretch it to 250usd if need be. I am located in US. Also does anyone know of a company that makes fans similar in size to the ones in the 360? Approximately 70mm. I love old consols, but I love PCs more. I'm planning on downloading dolphin so I can play game cube games, cause that was the first console I bought. I have controllers laying around my house, and I know you can buy a dongle and connect up to 4 controllers, so you and your mates can have a brawl, but I also love N64 and SNES and - well you get the point. So I was wondering, Is there a dongle (or 5.25" bay) that has ports for all the old controllers? Worst case senario, I can either buy some extra dongles, and custom fabricate a side panell with openings for the ports, or I can buy USB controllers, so I can plug them into my front IO.

I was wondering which emulators you use and which ones work the best? hoping to find a good mario and pokemon one!
