Budget (including currency): I don't even care anymore... I just want to see this happen at all! Country: United States Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Primarily gaming, but for IA-32, ARM, amd64, and ARM64 games running natively. Also, the ability to basically be the ultimate software compatibility machine in the universe with the ability to be compatible with the universe itself. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Preferably in the E-ATX form factor, ATX is better but less likely, as there obviously needs to be two CPU sockets. Is there any such attempt at ever making this happen? Obviously, I don't care about keeping the machine small, so don't worry about it becoming too large. This is similar in concept to one machine that had both an 86 and a Z80 processor onboard to be able to run CP/M applications for both Z80 and 86! Normally, if one wanted to upgrade to an 86 CP/M machine, they would have to give up Z80 application support. I don't really know too much about this either, I just know that it sounds awesome from a software compatibility perspective, even from a time where complete and utter incompatibility and complete lack of standardization was the expectation.

As and engineer, I've learned that drawing on the experience of others is a good way to avoid expensive (or embarrassing) mistakes. Thus, I'm asking for opinions on three proposed loop layouts, two using hard tubing, and one using soft The attached images are constructed from online part images, this is not the actual computer. The tubing selections are: Bitspower Pre-bent 90-Degree Brass Hard Tubing OD16MM Silver - Length 220x300MM (2 layouts) PrimoFlex LRT 7/16 ID x 5/8 OD bloodshed red (one layout Major Components shown Lian Li 011D XL case - Case Image is from Lian Li Asus Rampage VI Extreme Encore (E-ATX) (ASUS board image was superimposed on case image with screw holes aligned) Radiator EK-CoolStream XE 360 Triple 3x120mm x 60mm Above radiator is sandwiched between six 120mm x 25mm high-SP fans. The stack-up is 110mm or 4-1/3" mounted on the case side as shown in the images. Swiftech MCP355 Pump Block Swiftech Apogee SKF "Heirloom Series" - superimposed on case image Major Components not shown Graphics card - Generic, to be upgraded to a water cooled card at a future time once I've worked out the first loop. The top radiator and fan are placeholders for a future un-selected GPU water loop to be added down the road. All metal components are copper and nickel, which are galvanically compatible. The vertical extenders are not always determined because I need actual hardware to determine the length of the risers. Sometimes text "Extender" is used as a placeholder. There is a through-hole fill port at the top, and a push-pull drain stop at the bottom. The hard tubing fittings are all Bitspower, with the exception of an EK-AF Angled 2 x 45 G1/4 Fitting atop the pump. The brass tubing is pre-bent. I used a high pressure pump (up to 20mm H2O) because the Swiftech block is known to have a high resistance. A flow meter is located next to the reservoir. A flaw I noticed while posing is that the tubing could interfere with a long graphics card if carelessly placed. Any advise offered or improvements for better function or appearance will be greatly appreciated. Also, which layout do you like most (or hate)? Thanks in advance. K-Sci

Hello everyone, I was looking for a new case and came across the Lian Li PC-O10, and the PC-O11. Does anyone here know what the differences are? They support the same mainboard sizes, they are about the same size, they have a GPU extension bracket, and they both support watercooling. I also know that the PC-O11 is newer, has rubber inserts in the cutouts of the Mobo tray, but that's about it..? Lian Li also says that they "changed the proportions to be more realistic". Anybody know anything or is the PC-O11 just a refresh of the PC-O10? Fredi

Hey everybody, Does anyone know of an e-atx case that is somewhat small? I know that cases for eatx boards are on the larger size but I am really hoping to find one that would be about mid tower size or smaller. I have done a lot of looking and I can't find very much on the small side. It might be a long shot but if anyone knows of one I would really appreciate it if someone could share a name of a case with me. I don't need a ton of drive space or really any bells or whistles at all as long as it can fit a 12"x13" eatx board.

Hi there, I'm searching for a decent, nice looking and modern case that can be a home for a E-ATX motherboard (specifically a ASUS ROG Zenith Extreme). I looked at quiet a bunch cases, but... there's allways something I don't like about it. So far I dismissed the following: Lian LI PC-11WCX EVGA DG-87 Raijintek Asterion Classic Corsair Carbide Air 540 Corsair 750D Corsair Graphite 780T Corsair 900D In Win 509 Phantek Enthoo Evolv / Pro M / Lux Antek S10 Anidee AI Crystal Reasons were: aesthetics, outdated design (e.g. too many 5.25" bays...), bad reviews or concerns that an E-ATX motherboard would limit cable management, despite what the manufacturers says. My current favorite is the beQuiet Dark Base 900 Pro.. but also it seems that an E-ATX motherboard would limit cable management. Sure it can house an E-ATX board, but as far as I can tell from the pictures I saw, the holes on the right side for cable management would be blocked... and that's bad. A lot of cases seem to support E-ATX but at the cost of blocking these cable management holes. The Corsair 900D has two rows of cable management holes... but the case is just a monster and too overkill... If anybody has pictures with an E-ATX board in a Dark Base 900 Pro (or another nice case), I would be thankfull if you could link them. I also like the Phantek Enthoo Elite very much... but the price...not an option. I'll continue searching, but maybe you have a proposal for me.. Search criterias: - E-ATX (with proper cable managment) - decent design, nothing too fancy - side panel window - no or at least removable 5.25" bays - minimum of 4 HDD bays (3.5") - USB-C at the front would be nice, but is optional - front HDMI also would be nice, but optional - watercooling must be possible (280mm radiator) Thanks in advance, Korben. Edit: I forgot: the price range would be up to 250 Euro, I think that's about 300 USD.

Looking for E-ATX mobos for a case I am buying in the future. However there only seems to be a single E-ATX mobo for the AM4 socket. Is this true or am I too dumb to find another? websites I checked for E-ATX AM4 mobos: https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/products/motherboard/#s=33&f=3 https://www.newegg.ca/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&IsNodeId=1&N=100007624 601292784 600009018 https://www.memoryexpress.com/Category/Motherboards Thanks in advanced for the info.

Sup Peeps, Here is Powerhouse (Specs in my sig)! I am currently using a Corsair 900D.... Horrible case. Absolutely horrible to work in and a lot of the space is just wasted. Hurt my fingers just trying to get the thumb screws off for the pci expansion slot due to the door hinge mechanism. The unscrewing was ridiculous with the 980ti classy's as they were wider than usual but it is still present with normal founder's 1080ti's. Not Reccommended. Bought it thinking it will be as nice to work in, if not better then my 750D but was unpleasantly surprised. Now I am thinking of repasting my CPU/GPU and and upgrading to hardline tubing. What would be a good case to migrate to for that. I am currently running a custom loop with 2x EX XE480 + 1x XE240 radiators that I would like to carry forward as well. I am looking at the caselabs SMA8, but I would appreciate some alternatives to it as well as it is horribly marked up in price for Australians.. It must be a pretty case regards, ~GabeN

Hello. I just have a short question (i have no idea if this is the right place to ask this) about the motherboard form factors. Take the gigabyte trx40 aorus xtreme. It says it is xl-atx, but its dimensions are 325mm x 275 mm, which is well inside the max dimensions for e-atx. so i ask this: is there anything I would have to do in terms of case modding to fit this board that says it can support "e-atx up to 277 mm wide"? Can i fit this board into other e-atx cases? will i need longer screws because the board is thicker, and maybe make some sort of plate to change screws? I honestly have no idea about this, i don't know a lot about xl-atx. any help would be appreciated! -Red_Fox_1293

Will the Asus rampage v extreme fit in the enthoo pro m?
Pink gravy posted a topic in Power Supplies
Hey guys, so I bought an Asus rampage v extreme board and a strix 980ti, I want to fit them in the enthoo pro m, will they? If not can anybody please recommend a relatively affordable mid or full tower that will fit both? I know the rampage v extreme is 272 millimeters wide and the enthoo pro m says it will only support up 264, but maybe it fits, I don't know. Anyway thanks. -
Hello, im looking far case that is small, but that can hold a E-ATX motherboard anda 180mm psu. it also needs to look calm, and not too many lines and forms. just something good and basic but also cool. my budget is about €75. with small i mean a case that is small (size) but good enough for air, would like it to be a mid-tower and anything smaller. (and if possible a place for 5.25")

I'm having a hard time on deciding what case I should buy for my upcoming build. Needs to be E-ATX and support a 280mm AIO. I already have a 750D case, but it got damaged in shipping and Corsair didn't help out with that.

Hi all! I'm building a new system, based on X99 platform. After looking around, I'm set on the MSI X99A Godlike mobo which is EATX 12" x 10.7" / 30.5cm x 27.2 cm I'd like to put it all in the Define S. However, Define S is only listed as being ATX compatible. Are there any Define S owners who have EATX motherboards inside? Or perhaps Define S users that could measure and tell me how longer could a mobo be compared to the ones they have inside? Thanks and all the best! *Edit due to auto correct of mobo into mob )

To be quick, Is the Asus Maximus VIII Formula atx or E-atx? I remember reading and hearing on several occasions that this motherboard was an E-atx board. I even spent days trying to find a case that I wanted to put it in because the define r5 isn't compatible with E-atx boards. However today I looked again and saw it was listed as atx on a few different sites. Am I suffering from the Mandella effect? Basically I need a specific answer. Is the Asus Maximus VIII Formula an atx or an E-atx board. Also, am I alone on this one or does anyone else remember it being different?

I'm think of buying the Phanteks Enthoo pro M with the full acrylic window. My mobo is the Asus Rampage V Extreme. It's width is 272mm. Phanteks Says it supports E-ATX up to 264 mm. I know it's too big but a friend of mine has the Fractal Design Define R5 which only supports ATX boards. The Asus Rampage V Extreme fitted in there. Both cases have that stamped back motherboard tray with the diagonal side on the left. I ask all you Phanteks Enthoo pro M owner's that have a bit time on their hands to measure some things for me. Either "A", "B" and "C" or "D". That i can check if it fts. Thanks

Hi. So a about half a year ago i build a a fairly huge computer, with a corsair obsidian 750D case. Now i'm moving into a smaller apartment, so i want to make the PC a bit smaller and more quiet. The last bit i have figured out, but the case options out there is a jungle. I have an E-ATX motherboard so i cant really just go buy the smallest case available, and i don't want to change anything either. So my question to you guys is: Whats the smallest case available that can fit an E-ATX motherboard? It would really help me a lot. Feel free to ask anything you wanna now about the build, or what you think i didn't include here. Sorry if i didn't make myself super clear, English isn't my first language. Thank you very much

A couple of days ago I bought a Fractal Design Define R5 and a ASUS Rampage V Extreme motherboard, but completely forgot to check if that case actually fits an E-ATX sized motherboard... Is it possible to make it fit anyway or should I just send it back and buy a regular ATX motherboard instead?

What is the smallest case that can fit an ASUS IV Rampage Extreme motherboard and an 18cm tall x 31cm long GPU? Full dimensions are 31cm x 28cm for the mobo. I'm hoping for a Fractal Node 304/ Corsair 250D type form factor but anything thats small will be great!

Hi there, I'm building a workstation PC based around the Asus Z10PE-D16 WS motherboard which is of the SSI EEB form factor. I've got all the components figured out but this system needs a home. The problem is that SSI EEB is roughly the same size as a E-ATX motherboard but the layout for motherboard stand-offs is different.Finding a large case isn't difficult but finding one that has official support for SSI EEB is difficult. There is some server-cases but they are ugly as hell and very bulky. I would prefer a consumer desktop case. So, have anyone had any experiences with motherboards of this form-factor and what cases that will support the mounting layout? Your help is much appreciated! DemcoX99X

Hello everyone I am currently on an AMD FX 8320 and would like to get X99. I would like to use the MSI X99S SLI Plus, 5820k and corsair DDR4 under $200 have not figured out what model yet. I have an H440 and I love it however TechSource got an E-ATX board to fit into the H440 twice and it works flawlessly both times I would like to do this in my system, but would this be safe to do? So do you guys think it can be done, or have any of you done this?

Recently I have been going through the struggle of digging deep into a full tower extended ATX compatible case, and while struggling to keep sane while attempting to screw the top left of my motherboard down I came across the thought of 'Whatever happened to the test bench line of cases' and 'Would it be worth it to switch?' This inspired my late night search for an adequate bench case for my custom setup. The only bench that caught my eye was the Aerocool Strike-X Air (Link below to review by Linus) that seemed to have the 'mean yet versatile' look. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3y-SxqpdGKY However digging deeper into this I found that the reviews of this were less than what I was willing to take to dish out this much money. (When you look at my build specs currently and see the total you'll understand why it's crossed out) Many other bench cases look the part such as the D-Frame style cases, but lack the ability to hold an E-ATX motherboard like what I currently have and have come to love. My end goal is to find an open frame case capable of holding a E-ATX motherboard (namely my ASUS Rampage Extreme V Black Edition) and my 2 ASUS STRIX GTX980's. Not to mention the other drawback to this case is that I would need to find alternate means to attach my Corsair H100i cooler radiator system or rather find a new means of cooling. However if the cooling system I currently use is the cause of not being able to use a certian bench case such as the Aerocool Strike-X I would find converting to a custom liquid coolant system as a far better option as the H100i is functional but serves little purpose for aesthetics. (in my opinion obviously) So community give me a hand, and fill the comments with links to all relevant information/items that would fill the need and be easily obtainable for an individual who lives on the East coast of the US. <Link to parts list of current build> http://pcpartpicker.com/user/wabniky/saved/CNhYcf

Alright so for some reason even thought there a re so many cases on the market right now i still cant seem to find one i like. Most cases fit everything i need but i am having trouble with aesthetics. I'd really like to get a full tower and my price range is around $100-$150 and i would love to get a custom made like MountainMods or CaseLabs which i would be whiling to spend $200 for but that doesn't seem to be enough. The most important things to me are good looks, large nice looking window, must fit e-atx, good quality, bigger the better, and good cable management options.
