I’ve seen most builders mounting their radiator with push/pull vertically on their Lian Li Dynamic O11 XL (likely due to their motherboard limiting space at the top but maybe also simply because that’s just how they see that config installed on YT). I’m still convinced though that it makes more sense to do the push/pull on top, but with a twist that will drastically improve airflow and efficiency (hence noise). The trick is to add at least a 1cm fan shroud on the push, like this one ~> https://www.etsy.com/listing/1039536618/120mm-radiator-fan-shrouds — size will depend on how much space your mobo leaves you, but some may have enough room to add a 2cm shroud or 2x 1cm shrouds (one on each side, sandwiched between the push and pull, and your rad in the middle). This config lets you keep the intake vertical but also with a twist, thanks to a mod like this one: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1077360917/120mm-lian-li-o11-fan-shroud-intake ). Additionally, 3D-printed custom shrouds like those can push that mod even further: how about 3x 140 intakes at the bottom? Yep, you read that right, 3 of them! Here’s the shroud for it ~> https://www.etsy.com/listing/997831952/lian-li-od11-dynamic-xl-3x-140mm-fans I’ll be attempting this alternative config this weekend and will post pics next week if it works. I’ll be using 7x Lian Li AL120’s (they look better than the SL120’s imho —especially in white/silver— but most importantly they boast an improved max static pressure at 2.62mm-h2o, better performance in air flow up to 64.5CFM, and lower noise levels with a 17-28.3 dB range). I’ll be using 4x SL140’s for the bottom set (eagerly waiting for the AL140’s this December!). 7x 120’s because I’m be also adding a 120 rear exhaust, and also with a twist: a fan shroud but this time larger (3cm). Where to get those? Makers3DPrints on Etsy seem to be the only ones printing such shrouds atm. Now you may ask: why the trouble? Well, first these are very inexpensive mods, so why not try? But most importantly the following study demonstrates clearly how adding fan shrouds increases fan efficiency and lower water temperatures by close to 30%! ~> https://www.techpowerup.com/MartinsLiquidLab/Radiator-Fan-Orientation-And-Shroud-Testing-Review.html As a side note, if only the O11 was a bit deeper (or a bit longer by just a few centimeters) —I have 2 large Zotac RTX 3080 in there and they unfortunately take space slightly over the rad in that config— I would then certainly move the rad vertically like everybody else, but I would then also add 3cm (ideally) shrouds on both push and pull fans. Anyway, I digress. Because my Asus ROG Dark Hero is a pain (it leaves very little room at the top), i can add only one shroud and a short one at that (1cm, maybe 2cm if I slide the rad slightly towards the right) but anyway, 1 shroud is better than nothing, especially on the fan pushing towards the rad. And when it comes to the flush shroud installed in the back of my case for the intake, its main benefit is to take only fresh air in, not mixed with air heated by the PSU. As for having 3x 140’s at the bottom, well let’s just say the whole set should be MUCH quieter at lower rpm, while having constant positive pressure in the case. Feel free to change my mind though, I love to be proven wrong. No seriously. I’m not a pro by any means, but have been obsessed with air flow efficiency and finding ways to avoid water cooling GPUs, even when you have 2 monsters like RTX 3080’s…

Hello peeps, I am looking for some suggestions and advice on what laptop specifications are more suitable for computer graphics simulations and rendering? My interest is focused more on the CPU and GPU. The reason I am asking is because I work remotely as freelancer ranging from 3D generalist to cinematics, and physics simulations, or frankly any task given from the client. When I am not able to access my desktop machine I would rather rely on a machine that can be ready for the task. I am not interested in the name of the brand so long as it's reliable and durable. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Cheers!

I know there's a dedicated Lian Li vertical GPU bracket but are there any alternatives? I can't seem to find one locally. Here are my options: https://www.amazon.ca/DEEPCOOL-Graphics-Extension-Installation-Applicable/dp/B081Q6NVW9 https://dynaquestpc.com/products/tecware-vxr-vertical-gpu-mounting-bracket-w-pcie-riser Anyone tried using them? Or any suggestions? Thanks

Hi everyone, first time here. I was trying to set a Raid 1 on my dad's computer (first time doing that too) and I realised that the 2 drives need to be connected on the same way, but mine are m.2 and sata, so it didn't work. That was AFTER changing them to dynamic disks. I don't know if dynamic disks may cause some trouble, since microsoft doesn't recomment its use anymore, but it feels safer to come back to basic. The problem now is that I don't want any data loss, specially on the C: m.2. So I wanted to ask if there's some safe, free way to do that. The only way I can find is to copy all that data to my PC and format the m.2, but I don't if that may cause some problem with windows or any software, so I wanted to ask here first. thanks!

Hello dears I'm looking for a dynamic microphone to combine with my next audio interface "Motu M2" and my Beyer DT 770 80 ohm. My favorite in its form and sound tests is the so famous "shure sm7b", but its big flaw for me is its price. This is why Im looking for a mic with a budget of $230 maximum. The reason why I look for a dynamic mic is to capture only my voice and nothing from the environment, such as keyboard, mouse and other noises, which compared to a condenser mic is quite a difference in this regard. I'm just an audio buff, so... I ask because I don't know, although I can imagine some answers, but what XLR cables do you recommend with the mic, I was reading and hearing that the quality of the cable is of the utmost importance for everything to work ok and a good arm for the same mic. Thanks in advance.

Hey, so I have a weird idea. This might be obvious to some of you. But is it possible to create an overpowered pc that stays in one room in the house, and then have multiple virtual clients around the house, (Easy enough so far) but then each of those client runs dynamically so the resources (gpu horsepower and cpu horsepower as well as one central file storage for non-os data) are shared where they need to be, but also, the user profiles are shared so you could switch from one computer to the other and pull up everything you had running on the other station.

Me and two other friends are wanting to start a channel and one of the features of this channel will be a weekly news podcast type video, much like WAN Show. However we are on an EXTREMELY tight budget and only have one audio input. We need some sort of microphone that has USB or 3.5mm jack connection that would be able to pick up all three of our voices (all three of us would be in front or diagonal to the front of the mic) from a distance, more than like 4-6 feet, 10 feet at most. Please leave suggestions. Keep in mind that we have a very tight budget so anything more than 60 USD will be hard for us to be able to pay for. Thank you.

Hi Everyone! I have a Windows Server AD Domain with DNS running at my main site (main.example.com). I have another site with a public IP address that dynamically changes (secondary.example.com). I want a DNS entry in place on the main site for secondary.example.com, but I often have to manually update the record to include the correct IP whenever the second site gets a new IP. Is there a solution to this? I thought of somehow allowing the router on the second site to connect the the main site's DNS server and update it's record automatically whenever it's IP changes (basically Dynamic DNS) but I don't know whether you can do this with Windows Server's DNS server. Any help will be appreciated.

I currently have a behringer u-phoria um2 audio interface and for a while I used a mic I found laying around that uses a 1/4” plug, but it was too quiet and had a lot of background noise. With the environment I am in there are some clocks ticking and occasionally people talking so I think a dynamic microphone would be best. Any recommendations on what xlr mic under $100 to get that is loud enough and not too noisy to use with the u-phoria um2?

Would the Sennheiser e 835 work with a xlr to 3.5mm cable? It's a dynamic mic, so it doesn't need phantom power, right?

Hey there fellow people, I have finally decided that I want my next build to be a custom water cooled build. I think I am pretty dead set on the case which is going to be a Lian Li 011 dynamic. I just need some inspiration from you fellow builders so I can have some idea of what I want to do. Probably important information but I want to go all rigid tubing if possible.

I need a free disk partition tool to do a couple of things. First, I need to convert a dynamic disk to basic without losing any data. Second I need to extend a partition into an empty volume backwards, hence why I can't do it in the windows tool. Thanks in advance.

Hi I’m considering the Lian Li o11 dynamic and I wondering if it will be good for aios. I know it’s meant for custom loops though I think aios would be easier. Also, is it a mid tower or full tower. It is listed under mid towers but pc partpicker says it’s a full tower. Thanks

Has anyone got an idea of when this case will be available I haven't been able to find it anywhere.

Hi, I have a hybrid tablet/laptop which has an internal 60 gb drive running windows 10. This drive is getting quite full and I was thinking of using an external usb stick as extra storage. I would like to expand the internal hard drive with the external in raid. I'm no expert but some googleing learned that this should be possible. I learned that for setting up the raid the internal drive should be a 'dynamic' drive. In disk manager i get the option to do this but I get an errot message saying that there is not enough space on the disk. Can anyone help me to solve this or is there another better way to extend my storage? Thanks

Hello, I found this cool video of a (technology / algorithm) that can make interactive Images / videos, from a 5s recording. It's a bit old. so I don't know if anyone else has already made a topic about it (nothing found in search). Video : Source : http://interactivedynamicvideo.com

Hi everyone, I am practicing on Windows Server 2012 R2 since I've never used it anymore. The disks under Disk Management are labeled as basic and yet also appear to be organized in volumes (which would indicate that they are dynamic disks). Any thoughts? Right clicking a disk does not give me the option to convert it into dynamic, and yet under "Type" the discs are labeled as Basic. Thanks for any help in advance.

Hi guys! So I've got this problem with my PC. I was listening to some music, when I noticed that every time there was some bass thumping, the volume lowered, but not system volume. As if Windows automatically balances the music. Really weird. I've updated all my audio drivers, tried tweaking with every single setting in the control panel, but nothing gave the desired result. Does anyone know what this might be? Thanks in advance!

Does the Dynamic microphones always needs to be infront of you and close to your mount? What if example while not singing or recording serious you put it away from you by 10/12inches and by away i mean on your left or right side. [With stand] Will it sound terribly or its still fine?

Also while not recording but lets say gaming and talking to friends on skype is 12/15 inches away fine? • Shure SM58 LC • Shure SH55 Series II • RØDE Procaster Just for info: 1inch = 2.55cm
