I would like to use dual GPU RTX3090 but only have one FE and the other being the gigabyte blower version. Does this work in a motherboard such as the proart b650-creator or are there any version issues using the same gpu but from different companies that make their cooling system? - The cpu will be the new AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D.

I'm planning a Ryzen build right now. I am just going to use an old Radeon 7970 for now until Vega is out (team red all the way). My question is if I should pay the extra for an x370 board today. In the past I've ran crossfire and the modest performance improvements haven't been worth the extra heat and hassle to me. Plus I was kind of thinking of doing a small form factor, like an MATX build in a Define Mini C or something. Do you guys think dual gpu will still be necessary or worth it, or will just getting the top of the line Vega be more than enough for a while?

(Please read everything before commenting) Hello community, so Me and someone else were discuissing a potential upgrade of one of our friends. She streams on the regular base on twitch and the topic came up. The main concern was upgrading the system for improved performance and possebilities. The System Specs of our friend are following: Cpu: i74770K at 4.3Ghz Cpu Cooler: Corsair Hydro H55 Gpu: GTX 770; RAM: DDR3 16Gb RAM at 1333Mhz Motherboard: MSI Z97-G43 (Got informed that it is another one but didn't got the actual one) Webcamera: Logitech C920 Camera: Canon EOS 700D with 50mm 1.4 lens Camcoder: Canon VIXIA HF R500 My Position was that if our friend upgrade she should go for: a new Mobo(with USB 3.0, Type C or Thunderbold Ports) new Ram (16-32GB of DDR4, 2133 or upwards) and maybe even get a dual 980 build if the Cpu doesnt get upgraded much OR a 980/1060 and a high end Intel or Amd CPU My reasoning behind it was: Mobo - Better Connectors for better transfer, RAM - Higher ddr level for improved multi-tasking and higher Mhz wont hurt, Dual Gpu/Cpu upgrade - Better Encoding / More headroom, Higher Quality His Position was: Staying on USB 2.0 because it has a better BUS witdh, CPU is strong enough for a while, Dual GPU is better for streaming than CPU upgrade. (To his position from my perspective: I think staying on USB 2.0 is only making things worse especially since I nowhere found superior bus speed information about 2.0 than 3.0, CPU is decent enough but a upgrade would help but isn't as important, and Dual GPU is very situational depended) To the upgrade, its not from the most importance as our friend can stream and is stable (1080 @30fps). The only thing is that she could once stream with 4 cameras and now her obs or system crashes/freezes when she has more than 2 cameras connected We were just discussing what would help her and what the upgrade path should be. So now I want to ask you guys, if his position has some points and what upgrade path you think would help and how my advice was. I'm not a extreme expert so take everything with a grain of salt. Hello, So I'm in my last year of high school and I've gotta build a PC, so I decided to go all out and do a unRaid 2 gamers 1 cpu build, but with hardline watercooling, but I need some help as it's my first time watercooling a PC. So the specs in mind are as follows: CPU: AMD Ryzen Threadripper 2950X MOBO: GIGABYTE X399 AORUS Gaming 7 RAM: CORSAIR RAM Vengeance LPX 32GB (this one is not 100%) Boot drives for VMs: Intel Optane SSD 900P 480GB (x1) Mass storage for VMs: SAMSUNG SSD disk 970 PRO 512GB (x2) PSU: 850W Thermaltake Smart PRO 80+ Bronze GPU: ASUS Cerberus GeForce GTX1070Ti AE (x2, planning on going with these ones as EKWB are readily available since they make in this country, other RGB gpu models are out of stock) CPU Waterblock: EK-Supremacy sTR4 RGB - Nickel GPU Waterblock: EK-FC1070 GTX Ti ASUS RGB - Nickel This is all I got planned for now, if you're wondering why all these RGB parts, well I need to present and defend my build to a jury to then get the final grade of the year (the most important one). Now the issue I'm facing is, what case do I put all of this in (would prefer to be tempered glass for the visuals). The case itself is not an issue, as I've never worked with watercooling, I don't really know how radiators work, I mean I know how they work and I know the basics of making a hardline loop, but I don't know what I'm supposed to be looking out for in the case, as I'm probably going to need 2 big radiators to cool all of that. If anyone could assist me, that would be greatly appreciated.

Hey guys, Some of you may remember the earlier post about the Defcon One M-ATX case we were crowdfunding for (http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/380775-a-revolution-in-mid-tower-cases-the-defcon-one/) - well, the crowdfunding went well and we've working on the case prototypes - this second prototype we built a test system in and took some pictures. As you can see the system looks fairly clean, and we'll ass more wire management holes too. Also, we've kept the case as "dis-assemble-able" as possible, only leaving two parts riveter together and every other part removable. Only thing missing are the side panels - laser messed them up and we're waiting for replacement. The 2 USb 3.0 ports stay hidden to sight yet very accessible in the front. We'll be correcting the mistakes we found and will make some changes too, such as adding an option for 240 radiator on the top, moving the PSU and 120 rad to the bottom (not as efficient thermally, but easier to assemble)and a few other goodies which we'll uncover in time. So I have been wanting to do 5760x1080 gaming but I do not know what GPU to get. So I was wondering... Should I go GTX 980 SLI, or get an r9 295x2 and add a second one later? What do you guys think?

How important is the GPU-RAM in SLI/Crossfire-Systems? I heard that SLI and Crossfire only makes sense when a single card has big GPU-RAM >= 6 GB. The recent (purchasable) GPUs (GTX 780 / 970 / 980) from nVidia have only 4 GB of RAM which I think is pretty low when I could use that 4 gigabytes in a three-way Quad-SLI... So I'd rather tend to purchase a single R9 290X coming with 8 GB of GPU-RAM when thinking about Crossfire in 1-2 years... Simply because of the ~3.5 GBs of RAM nVidia comes with... (GTX 970 "issue" ) How important is the RAM inside the GPU? How big should the RAM be when using dual, triple or quad-SLI? Will the upcoming cards by nVidia come with ~6-8 GB while still being in the mid-class price-range? 4 GB GPU-RAM is very low if you also want to play new games in ~1-2 years on it...
