  1. I currently have a system with the specs: AMD R9 7950X NOCTUA NH-D15 CHROMAX MSI MEG X670E ACE G.SKILL NEO DDR5 6000Mhz CL30 64GB NO RGB SAMSUNG 990 PRO 2TB * 3 GIGABYTE AORUS XTREME WATERFORCE RTX 4090 SEASONIC PRIME PX-1600 ATX 3.0 NOCTUA A14 PWM * 5 In a case: Phanteks Enthoo pro 2. One of the reasons for purchasing this case was the size which allows me to put in more hard drives and even a second system. However now, a year later I am planning on putting in a second system in the case but I recently found a little caveat. The case supports a second PSU OR a second system. Not both at the same time. The planned specs of the second system are similar to the first. This means both systems would have to run off of one PSU and I doubt the 1600W PSU is enough. My limited knowledge tells me that I need to look for a 2400W PSU with the size factor of the PRIME. Is my thinking correct and furthermore which PSU offers such specs?
  2. Noticed there were none on the forum, so I decided to make a list. Here's what I have so far. Feel free to add cases in the responses and recommendations too. Dual System AND Dual PSU Cases (Support Dual ATX PSU) Thermaltake Core W200 Rajintek Enyo Dual System AND Dual PSU Cases (1 ATX PSU, 1 SFX PSU) FSP T-Wings CMT710 Corsair Obsidian 1000D Cougar Gemini X Dual System, 1 PSU Only Cases Phanteks Enthoo Mini XL Phanteks Enthoo 719 (Note: Supports Dual PSUs with only 1 system, 1 PSU with 2 systems) Phanteks Enthoo Pro 2 (Same note as Enthoo 719) Phanteks Evolv X MetallicGear Neo Qube Phanteks Enthoo Mini XL Phanteks Eclipse P600S (ITX Upgrade Kit sold separately) Phanteks Eclipse P500A (Note: Unlike P600S Newegg listing did not say ITX Upgrade Kit sold separately. 3. First of all, Yes I know I need to wipe down the desk! About a month ago we painted the room and I was able to set my desk up better for me. I just need some ideas on cable management. The issue is I run dual systems, both using the same keyboard and mouse. I use the built in input switchers on both monitors and I use the USB switcher in the picture for the mouse and keyboard. Problem 1) One of my monitors who plug is pictured, my modem and router have plugs that well block other outlets, I have enough outlets on my UPS, but some are unusable due to this issue. So I need ideas there. The second plug in the picture is to my Nintendo Switch which Im considering moving from the desk as it doesnt play well with my ultrawide. Problem 2) The Mac has two cables coming off of it. 1 is a type c to type c that goes to the 34" ultrawide, this provides not only video, but Power and two USB ports one of which is connected to the USB switcher. The second cable is a type c to HDMI adapter. Im looking for a better way to hide or at least tidy up the cabling. I have my keyboard and mouse cables to content with as well. Other info. The desk is the Ikea Freddie. It has two cable pass thru's in the back at each corner. My desktop computer is on the left side of the desk on the built in shelving. My UPS is on the opposite side on the built in shelving. I have considered velcoring the USB switcher to the back of my ultrawide, the button used to switch things has a pretty long cord so that wont be an issue. The biggest problem is hiding the USB cable going to the desktop.
  4. Hey guys, before I start I'm just going to say sorry for any bad grammar etc, again I'm posting at around midnight, as well as to any mods who think this post is in the wrong place, instead of deleting it coul d you please just move it to where you think it should be, thanks Ok, I'm relatively new to pc building and I am planning to build a 2 system pc, a gaming one with a i9 9900ks and a rtx 2080ti and a work pc with a ryzen 3990x threadripper or similar with either a quadro or titan gpu. I'm wondering if it is possible for me, using a capture card or OBS's software, to have the workstation stream the video to youtube or twitch, using the better multi-threaded cpu to take care of it, freeing up my gaming system to give me as many frames as possible. I am also planning to have both pc's save files to the same storage system, and have the same keyboard, mouse, monitor etc. and me being able to switch between pc's with a macro, so I can use them sort of as one machine. Is this possible and/or recommendable and does anyone have some advise to give? Any would be greatly appreciated.
  5. Hi Guys I'm starting to build a new system for home, I'm looking to build a dual system in the Phanteks Enthoo 719. What I'm looking to build is a gaming machine and a FreeNas/Plex system as well. what I'm asking for is help in finding a mini itx motherboard with 8 sata (more if possible) connections and 10 gb ethernet connection (10gbe or Sfp+) and a PCIe 16 slot for a NVidia Quadro P2000. I know It could all be run on one motherboard in dockers etc. And I have thought of using a prebuilt nas system as well. I would just like to keep the gaming and Nas/Plex sperate in one pc case. Any help will be greatly appreciated, and I'm probably asking for the impossible and I'm open to ideas in trying to achieve the same out come. Many thanks Ollie
  6. I work with 3D rendering, and I was needing a render farm and a NAS. But as I do not have much space here, I was thinking of building a PC using the Enthoo Xl case, thus mounting two systems in one case. So, what do you guys think of this list? 7. So, I currently have 2 servers with ATX motherboards/power supplies. Each server is currently in it's own case, but IMO it's wasting space. I looked into getting a server rack but I couldn't find any cheap server racks (used or new) and it's difficult to find server cases that support ATX motherboards. So, is there a case on the market that supports two full ATX motherboards in the same chassis? Thanks!
  8. Hello, I was wondering if someone could tell me the coldest cpu cooler. Also by coldest I mean while gaming not ambient. I'm working on a 2 computer one case system. This is for a 2011-3 socket
  9. Hello people, I am intending to build a dual system to game and stream from the same tower, but i can't find a case to house the E-atx board i want and a M-atx or even a M-itx. So any help would be amazing. I would really like to stick with the E-atx but if needs must i could downsize to atx. Main pc: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/WbBrzY Streaming pc: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/FWWrzY thank you for reading.
  10. Hi everybody! I'd love to get some input on my idea of setting up a dual system in the Evolv X case. The idea came up as a love child of my kinda tiny apartment and work space and the fact that my woman wants a PC of her own. If this is possible, I would get a nice longer desk, put the case in between and have 2 nice work/gaming stations for the both of us. I've seen some comments and videos (Hardware Kanucks) on how to do it, but mostly the feedback has been negative, as the temps are not so good if air cooling. Still, I need to put my mind to ease so I can know to either scrap this project or modify and do it, and as I'm a bit paranoid/stubborn, I will either go with dual air cooled CPUs or give up, I don't intend to use water cooling. If I scrap it, I will just use 2 cases for the 2 PCs (one of them still being Mini ITX size since I need to save space). The ATX build will be a beast I plan on finally upgrading to and will be my Gaming/Work/Editing PC. It will be overclocked at one point. I intended the Mini ITX build to be my GF's using parts from my old PC (and buying the smaller MOBO). I don't intend to overclock this one. She will use it for work as well, and probably a little gaming, but on the level of Sims 4 or some other similar stuff. If she wants to game newer titles, she can always use mine. Because of this, I hope to get less heat generated by the ITX. Let me list the specs so it'll be easier to visualise. CASE: Phanteks Evolv X POWER SUPPLY: Phanteks Revolt X (1200 W) - for both of the systems (If I scrap the project, the ATX PSU will be the Corsair RMx 750W 80+ Gold, and I dunno which one for the Mini ITX sys) ATX SYTEM (also, please comment on this build, I'm a novice builder and really would like to know if I combined everything well/if there are better alternatives) - Intel Core i7-9700K - be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 4 - Gigabyte z390 AORUS MASTER ATX - G.Skill Trident Z RGB 2x8 GB 3200 - MSI GeForce RTX 2080 Ti 11 GB Gaming Trio - Storage (I'll be using 2 older SSDs and 2 WD HDDs (WD Black and Green) - Dell AW3418DW 34.1 (3440x1440) 120 Hz MINI ITX SYSTEM - Intel i5-6600K 3.5 GHz Quad Core - MSI GeForce GT 970 4GB (mounted vertically) - G.Skill Ripjaws V Series 8 GB DDR3 2133 (hopefully, I am still searching for a Mini ITX DDR3 compatible MOBO. If I can't find it, I'll have to get a DDR4 one and get new RAM.) So...the questions... 1.Seeing the specs, do you guys think I could pull this off and it to work reasonably well? - I'm worried if the Mini ITX temps could influence the ATX system and if the Mini ITX system can be cooled well enough for it to work normally under normal load. - Also, since I'm mounting the ATX sys' 2080 vertically in a normal fashion, and vertically mounting the 970 in front of it, can it negatively infuence the 2080, and will it be able to stay cool enough itself? 2. If I can pull it off, would the stock CPU cooler be ok for the i5? If not, which fan should I get? I'm also worried about clearance because it seems very tight. I'll list all the hardware 3. Please comment everything that comes to mind about my ATX build as well. I really want to know if I chose good components that work well together. 4. Ask me more questions if you need more info. Thanks a bunch!
  11. How to build a dual system in Phanteks Evolv X case so that the case fans will fire up when either systems start individually? 1. I have this idea of using one tower to host two systems for home use. 2. One screen either side of the case. 3. Home use. One system is for my personal/work use and the other system is for my wife's personal/work use. Problem: How to get the fans running when only one system is running?
  12. So the gist of this question is how to power 2 pc's with one power supply. The first pc has a 550w 80+ bronze rating, more than enough( about 150 "overkill") My plan is to use a spare 8 pin or even a molex if possible to power my second pc which has a maximum draw of 120w. My first issue is having a solid way to connect the 2. Worst case scenario i can just solder some wire from the 8 pin to the receiving PICO psu. on the 1 hand I want a more elegant solution (a clean adapter could work), but on the other hand i want to get rid of (bypass) the pico entirely (also a good adapter). Any suggestions here? But after all of that is said: will i be able to power the second pc while the first is powerd off?
  13. I was looking for a dual system case but could only find the evolve x, I was wondering if there were different case. Also in a new video from BitWit he mentioned that the Phanteks p400s is a dual system case but I could not find if this was true.

  15. So I'm currently a fledgling content creator for YouTube/Twitch live streamer and recently I've found that my current setup is drastically hindering my ability to improve my content and learn new skills with my choice of video editing software (currently Sony Vegas 14) . Right now I'm only using a single pc with the following specs: Ryzen 7 2700x EVGA RTX 2070 XC Ultra 32gb Trident Z 3200 kHz 1000w Panteks Revolt X Asus Prime x470-Pro Enough storage to choke a horse + a nas ------------------------------------------------------ The goal here is to keep a single Pc if possible, but I'm fully prepared to move to dual pc if necessary. ----------------------------------------------------- Current gameplan: Update bios on motherboard and upgrade to Ryzen 9 3990 If I cant push the quality of my stream while gaming from the same machine with that hardware: Get an itx board and use the 2700x + 2070 to game on and use a cheap 580 nitro I have with the 3990 for rendering the stream/YouTube production/ etc. Sound like a decent plan? Would the revolv x have enough power to drive all of the listed hardware plus 2 webcams + mouse/keyboard + capture card if I were to build both systems in my evolv x case?

My existing parts are: Z270X ultra gaming motherboard evga GTX 1080Ti 11GB Western Digital WD10EZEX 1tb Sata Hard Drive x 1 Western Digital WD10EZEX 2tb Sata Hard Drive x 1 EVGA 600w Power Supply x 1 Corsair Vengeance LPX 16gb DDR4 3000Mhz x 2 Corsair Vengeance LPX 8gb DDR4 3000Mhz x 2 Intel I7 7700K Kaby Lake (GFX 4.2Ghz) x 1 -one of my conundrums is i would prefer not to mess with Aio's or any sort of water-cooling, but im concerned about the heat that would accumulate at the top left as there would be two cpus quite close to each other -i dont really plan on overclocking as i dont know much about it. -i dont know which motherboard to get for both systems as ill need an itx compatible with the 7700k and for the new one i dont know what to get. -i dont know what to do about my old parts i.e the z270x motherboard and older psu. -yes i know that i should get an ssd. :) -ive never really ever built a pc from scratch (ive tinkered/ made modifications to the case, added ram, removed optic drives and added storage though) and starting with dual system one may be a bit of a task. please help
  17. Hello people, at this moment i’m busy with a build in a Phanteks enthoo elite and a dual system set-up. I plan to build a hard line loop to cool the 2 systems. Has someone done this before? How to connect the fans to 2 different motherboards? Or is this even not possible? Thanks in advance!
  18. My current system has an i7-6700K running at 4.5GHz with 1.36 vcore using a Noctua NH-D15 cooler on an MSI Z170-A Pro mobo, and an EVGA GTX 1080 SuperClocked. I was noticing that my system is having issues keeping the overclock working properly. The issue is that the CPU temps are fine, but the VRM temps get pretty high and thus cause thermal throttling. Due to the case I have (Fractal Design Arc Midi R2) and the cooler, there's n o way for me to cool the VRM's down properly. My initial plan was to get a new Z270 board with better VRM’s, but I figured if I’m spending >$150 for a decent overclocking board, I might as well upgrade to Z370 and get an 8700K, and then use the 6700K + MSI motherboard as a server. Now it gets a little more complicated: my friend who wants to build his first PC and isn’t as interested in overclocking his build, so I offered to sell the 6700K + mobo for $350 to him. Here’s the breakdown of the parts for both PC’s. If the part doesn’t have a price next to it, it means that I already own that part. Gaming PC: Intel - Core i7-8700K 3.7GHz 6-Core Processor ($347.00 @ SuperBiiz) Noctua - NH-D15 82.5 CFM CPU Cooler Gigabyte - Z370 AORUS Gaming 5 (rev. 1.0) ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($188.66 @ Walmart) G.Skill - Ripjaws V Series 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR4-2133 Memory Samsung - 850 EVO-Series 500GB 2.5" Solid State Drive Seagate - 5TB 3.5" 5900RPM Internal Hard Drive Western Digital - BLACK SERIES 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive EVGA - GeForce GTX 1080 8GB ACX 3.0 Video Card be quiet! - Dark Base 700 ATX Mid Tower Case ($169.99 @ SuperBiiz) EVGA - SuperNOVA P2 650W 80+ Platinum Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply Noctua - NF-A14 PWM 82.5 CFM 140mm Fan Total: $705.65 Server PC: AMD - Ryzen 7 2700 3.2GHz 8-Core Processor ($289.89 @ SuperBiiz) Noctua - NH-U12S 55.0 CFM CPU Cooler ($57.99 @ Amazon) Gigabyte - X470 AORUS ULTRA GAMING ATX AM4 Motherboard ($129.99 @ Newegg) G.Skill - Flare X 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2133 Memory ($150.99 @ Newegg) Samsung - 850 EVO-Series 1TB 2.5" Solid State Drive Fractal Design - Arc Midi R2 (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case EVGA - SuperNOVA G3 550W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply ($63.98 @ Newegg) Total: $726.84 Basically, I plan to replace the 6700K with the 8700K, replace the MSI Z170 mobo with a Gigabyte Z370 one, and replace the Fractal Design Arc Midi R2 case with a Be Quiet Dark Base 700. The 6700K, the MSI Z170 mobo, and Fractal Design case in the server. The stream encoding will be done over ethernet using OBS on both machines and using the NDI plugin, so that should be easy to set up. The gaming machine will stream to the server using the Nvenc encoder at 1440p 60fps and >60Mbps to preserve quality and keep my game play smooth, while the server will re-encode that stream into 1080p 60fps 6Mbps to Twitch. The NAS part of the system is so that I can use all the spare HDD’s I have lying about for something useful. I’d like for it to have the drives spanned or RAID-ed together to create one large volume, but I want to make sure that there is some security to those drives. Speed really isn’t an issue if that’s a sacrifice I’d have to make. I also want this NAS to be accessible by everyone in my house through both ethernet and wifi on multiple machines: a few Windows desktops & laptops, a MacOS laptop and iPhone, and Android devices. It’d also be nice if I could “partition” the NAS into sections that restricts users to only accessing their assigned partition, with one single partition being a “shared” one between all users. I think I can set up most of this through Kodi. As for an OS, I was planning on using Windows Server 2016 (I already have a license from Microsoft Dreamspark / Imagine). The plan is that I can use Microsoft’s Storage Spaces to combine the space of the drives but be able to implement a Storage Space Parity setup to make sure if any drives fail that I have some protection. I also get to use Adobe apps that I need for audio / video / photo editing on the server itself. I plan to add more drives in the future, and the Fractal Design Arc Midi R2 has a 2x 5.25" bay at the top-front, and plan to insert a SilverStone FS303 2x 5.25" bay to 3x 3.5" HDD converter. The MSI Z170 mobo only supports up to 6 SATA connections, so I'd need a PCIe to SATA expansion card. So that leaves a lot of questions I want to ask, like: Are the parts I plan to get good choices for both the personal and the server machines? After having VRM heat issues that I've experienced, I'm wondering if I should spend more on the Gigabyte Gaming 7 mobo instead of the Gaming 5 one. What’s the best way to configure the drives to make sure I don’t lose any data due to drive failure? How can I configure the storage to be limited by the user accessing it? Is Kodi the best free alternative to Plex? What is a good PCIe to 4x SATA 3 adapter? All the ones I could find seem like cheap knockoffs. I’m probably forgetting some stuff, but that’s the gist of the setup.
  19. I am trying to make a dual system tower and I want to know if I had 2 pc's in one case, one that consumed 500 watts and one that consumed 300 watts and I used a phanteks power combo on one psu, would it supply the correct voltages to each pc, supply 400 watts to both, supply 500 watts to both, supply 300 watts to both, or just not function? Edit: Topic Closed; I just figured out that my psus cannot power the 2 rigs I am trying to build
  20. Hi everyone, I'm getting bored by my Synology DS213J which is slow and has the drawback of only offering RAID 1 for redundancy so I'm wasting a lot of storage space compared to other solutions with more than 2 disks. On the other hand, my gaming PC is currently built inside an In Win 707 I got on the cheap because the side panel window was slightly broken. I've made a custom watercooling loop in that one. So here are my two current setups : Gaming PC : mATX Asus X79 RAMPAGE IV Gene i7 3930K @4.8GHz watercooled 16GB 2166MHz DDR3 GTX 1080 (MSI Gaming X) aircooled 256GB SSD 1TB HDD LEPA G1000M PSU (I just love the build quality of that one, it's been working perfectly ever since I bought it) NAS : Synology DS213J (nice but slow & limited to RAID 1) 1x6TB HDD + 1x4TB HDD + 2x2TB HDD I'd like to use the Phanteks Mini XL case to build my two systems in one single box, as follows : Gaming PC : Nothing new Second PC : to be used as a NAS (with xPenology) and possibly also as a virtualized Hackintosh someday. Goals : virtualization, power efficiency (running 24/7), low cost. mini ITX Z170 mobo G4560 (air/watercooled depending on if I can find a cheapo waterblock) 32GB boot SSD if required (I just happen to have one on hand, or maybe I can use it as SSD cache for the RAID 5 volume?) 4 HDDs for the NAS RAID 5 storage (capacity will depend on early 2018 sales in France/Europe) 300W Be Quiet SFX PSU (or anything else reliable I can find cheaper during the forecoming sales) What do you guys think? I first had set my mind on stacking two Thermaltake Core V21 on top one of another but I must say the following reasons make me want to do this instead : I think it's really cool and I'd really like to do it It's not excessively more expensive than the dual case config... well... 130€ more expensive actually given I'll have to factor in the price of the SFX PSU It would save space in my crammed bedroom in which I can barely walk due to all my stuff (3D printer etc.) So what do you guys think about this? The case review :
  21. Hi everyone, Just tweeted Phanteks directly this question but from looking at their Twitter page they have no replies so I'm not holding up any hope that I will get one. Was looking at Phantek reviews in YT and came across one from Hardware Canucks from Computex in which the Enthoo Primo DS is mentioned. Dual system case with ATX and Micro ATX. Anyone else heard of a release date for this case? Nothing's mentioned on their website.
  22. I'm working on a project where I put three separate systems in one case. It's kind of like Linus's 2 gamers 1 CPU but for people who don't have the money for $1,000 10 core CPU's when you can buy 2 5820Ks for $600. Currently, I have decided to make it a triple system build as one will run Windows, one will dual boot Linux/Windows, and the last will be a Hackintosh. A dual system is easy enough when it comes to fitting the motherboards in but now that this is a triple system I cam trying to think of creative ways of doing this. All the motherboards are ATX (one is E-ATX) so something like the HAF stacker is out of the question. Will be Watercooling so that will help when it comes to fitting everything and I was planning on doing an upward airflow system with the radiators at the top so anything that needs air for cooling will get it. I have thought about having the Hackintosh simply run integrated graphics but I'd like it to be able to do some heavy video editing so that is out of the question. I have three PSU I had been planning to use but I'm not sure how to fit them in the rig. As for the graphics cards I was planning to use PCIE extensions and lining them up at the top under the radiators with their water blocks. But the motherboards is where I'm really running into difficulties. In a dual system I would just have one regular and the other inverted but with three it becomes a challenge. I was planning on mounting them horizontally with the IO pointed toward the front and side of the case with a small door I could mount magnetically housing the IO. Do you have any ideas for arranging the PSU's, mobo's, or anything else that would help?
  23. Hello, After watching Linus movie about "Two gamers One Rig" I felt in love with that concept, and tough that would be way to go for my needs. Currently I am sharing PC with my Girl we like to play together or separably but in the same time. My current build is really old and rusty but its ok as CS GO potato which I spend most of the time at - but like to play BF4 time to time and like to play at decent graphic with playable fps. We would like to start playing Blade&Souls or Black Desert and some new multiplayer titles at TV@1080p(60Hz). My current build: Motherboard: Asus P5Q PRO Procesor: Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 Memory: 2x OCZ PCZ 6400 (800Hz) Graphic Card: AMD Radeon HD 7770 Sapphiere VAPOR-X GHZ edition 1G DDR5 HDD: 1TB ST1000DM003-1CH162 Power Supply: Corsair TX650W Build I am aiming for: PC Part Picker list - Total 1038 $ Intel Core i7-4790K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor $319.99 Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler $34.89 MSI Z97-GAMING 5 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard $129.99 Crucial Ballistix Sport 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory $57.99 Crucial Ballistix Sport 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory $57.99 Samsung 850 EVO-Series 500GB 2.5" Solid State Drive $149.45 MSI GeForce GTX 970 4GB Twin Frozr V Video Card $324.99 Corsair Enthusiast 650W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply owned SAPPHIRE Vapor-X Radeon HD 7770 DirectX 11 1GB 128-Bit GDDR5 owned There are some of my toughs I have atm: Does my power supply will handle all of it? Can I create virtual machine on this parameters where Virtual Machine will have access to (lets say): - 8GB of RAM - Dedicated graphic card (SAPPHIRE) So on Host machine I want to game into newer tittles, and in the same time I would like to play ex. CS GO at my POTATO guest machine (setup of 8GB of ram+SAPPHIRE is just fine for CS purposes). Would it be better if I have Two SSD (250GB each) instead of one 500GB one? (for purposes of visualizing?) I am going to add my current 1TB of HDD as storage. I tough about maybe this would be more efficient: 2x SSD (250GB)+1TB HDD (every system installed separately on one SSD and both system have access to every disk in case). Samsung 850 EVO-Series 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive $87.77 x2=$175,54 This cost 26$ more but if that will rise efficiently I can go for it. PS: I will be gaming at 1080p (on both) and it wont change to 4k at least with that build. Thanks for your tips and advice! Kesho
