Hi, I got a Dell laptop G515 5587. I5-8300H, GTX 1060 Max-Q and 256 SSD. The game is in the SSD if you are wondering. So, I have checked the thermals both of CPU and GPU and the problem it's not thermal throttling. Now, this is what I know, and please take my word for it: Once every minute the game seems to suddenly switch to Intel Hd Graphics because the usage of the GTX drops below 10% and the Intel HD graphics peaks at 98%. And exactly during that change, obviously, the frame rate drops from around 50 to 9 or even 1fps. Then, exactly once the usage of the GTX goes up and Intel HD graphics goes down, the framerate of the game returns to the usual value. I've tried to decrease the graphics settings, even to play at 720p, the results are higher fps normally, but the same dramatically drop once every minute. Thus, the game is unplayable. In the Nvidia control panel, I have selected the GTX as the main graphic processor. I have read that it was a known issue last year but it should be fixed in the newer patches and I got the last one. English not my native language in case I've committed a major error in the writing. So, any suggestions? What can I do?? The game is very expensive and this is obviously the game´s fault.

Hey I will be exchanging my amd A10 for a Pentium G4560, because wow, starcraft and planetaside requir a lot of single core performance, whihc intel has supposedly better. With that I will be using a gtx 1050Ti, and my question was, if I could connect my main monitor to the gpu and game on it, while having the second one or third one connected to the motherboard for stuff like chrome while im playing, and if I could make the connectio inbetween them, like if I was running alll of them of the gpu.

Hi, sorry, i didnt know whether i should post this in the graphics card subforum or laptop subforum, Anyway, i have a laptop which uses dual graphics (cpu integrated+dedicated) and i dont know if that adds frames or loses frames. anyway the specs are AMD a10 5750m AMD Radeon HD 8650g (the integrated gpu) AMD Radeon HD 8750m 2*4gb ram People may say its obviously dual graphics but on this comparison it shows the 8750m is faster which dont make much sense to me http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/compare.php?cmp[]=2876&cmp[]=2530&cmp[]=2909

This always interested me back in the FX days but I was on Intel at the time, and I would love to know if and when this will be possible on the new Ryzen architecture. For people who don't know, dual graphics is when you essentially create a crossfire between the discrete graphics card and the onboard graphics on AMD APUs. I think Linus Tech Tips covered it about 4 years ago...

Should you run Crossfire with integrated graphics? When most people think of multiple graphics cards in the same system, they often think of two of the exact same card in Crossfire or SLI. While that is mostly true, especially in the case of SLI, AMD Crossfire is a little more lenient when it comes to what cards you can run together. Prefer b-roll over written text? Watch my video here: AMD crossfire has allowed two GPUs from the same GPU design to run together for a long time. For example, you can run a HD 6970 (Cayman XT) and a HD 6950 (Cayman PRO) in crossfire without too much trouble; the 6970 disables a few components to essentially become a HD 6950, and it’s off to the races. However, crossfire also allows for even weirder configurations. AMD Radeon HD 2400 XT AMD first did crossfire with integrated graphics in 2008 with HD 2400 and HD 3400 series cards being able to work in tandem with the integrated graphics in AMD 700 and 800 series chipsets. This was done again with AMDs APUs, but this time with the iGPU integrated in the CPU package instead of being on the motherboard. AMD calls this technology Hybrid Crossfire or Dual Graphics. AMD recommends a specific GPU for each APU that roughly matches the specifications of the APUs iGPU. In the case of my A10 6800K, this GPU is the HD 6670. However, you don’t have to oblige to these recommendations, which allows us to run the iGPU of an A10 6800K, a TeraScale 3 based GPU in crossfire with a HD 7750, a GCN 1.0 based GPU. AMD A10 6800K surrounded by a HD 5770, HD 7750 and a HD 6950 The setup process is fairly simple; install the dGPU and enable Dual Graphics in the UEFI and in Catalyst Control Center. Unsurprisingly though, this obscure crossfire configuration refused to work in any of the games I tried. It only worked in 3D Mark, showing decent scaling, but this isn’t exactly very useful if you want to play actual games instead of watching a benchmark all day. Furthermore, the Piledriver based CPU in the AMD A10 is truly terrible, being easily beaten by Conroe based Core 2 Quad at roughly the same clockspeed due to the poor multi thread scaling of the module based Piledriver architecture. So the AMD A10 6800K cant redeem itself as a powerful CPU either, and when it’s one of the fastest FM2(+) CPU available, the FM2(+) platform seems rather obsolete in 2018. So how do these parts perform? Benchmarks can also be found at at 2:00 in my video above. Benchmarks (image heavy): Testbench specs: So should you put an iGPU and a dGPU in crossfire? Definitely not. There is practically nothing that supports such a configuration, and AMDs FM2(+) platform lacks any modern fast CPUs to back it up. In the end, AMDs Dual Graphics was an interesting concept. If it had worked properly in games, it would have allowed for cheap GPU upgrades, perfect for the gamer on a budget (that hasn’t discovered the used market).

I recently purchased http://www.bestbuy.com/site/lenovo-desktop-amd-a10-series-12gb-memory-2tb-hard-drive-black/4362103.p?id=1219736628126&skuId=4362103 this PC because my old one did not work at all and couldn't wait for parts to come in. It's completely fine and i've been loving it so far. The only thing is, I purchased http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127763 this GPU because I found out that I can crossfire it with the Dual Graphics built into the processor. The guy at Best Buy tells me that isn't possible. Is he right? I am 99% sure it is possible through a software but i'm not trying to break my new PC. Also, if I can do this i'm going to need a bigger PSU, any recommendations? Thanks in advance.

Hey So waiting for the end of this month - am really looking to getting a new GPU(/s....?). after AMD I figured its just best for my pocket to get 2 x 480 instead of 1x1070 , which they end up costing the same - But I've been digging a little bit , and a few videos and peopel just saying that Crossfire / Dual Graphics is a bad solution? won't actually improve? will barely improve? Could someone give me some kind of insight on the topic? • Will 2 x 480 perform (supposedly) better than a Single 1070? • Can I really enjoy 2 cards in a setup and actually feel the improvement? • What's the current solution of AMD for 2 cards? "Crossfire" or "Dual Graphics" ? and wahts the difference (if there is) And ofc any other comments regarding the topic if you can add , the more the merrier. really wanna make sure im making the right decision. Thank you <3.

I have a 7870k and MSI DDR3 2gb r7 250 and an MSI A88xi v2 mini-itx motherboard (I'm on Windows 10 btw) I have three options in bios pertaining to dual-graphics. I can set PEG or IGD / set Disabled, Auto, or Dual Graphics / Set frame buffer. I have selected IGD / Dual Graphics / 2gb (since i have a 2gb r7 250). I see both my integrated graphics in the APU and my R7 250 in the Device Manager under Video Adapters. I am currently using Catalyst 15.11.1 beta as I've read the new Crimson drivers don't yet support dual graphics. I've tried every configuration of the bios dual graphics settings and I've tried 15.11.1, 15.7 and the newest beta of the Crimson drivers, just to make sure. The Dual-Graphics option does not come up in CCC. Please help. I'm about to pull my hair out, if i don't figure this out.

I have been pondering this a while now and have yet to find any information helpful via google. I am curious about the ability to leverage the currently disabled graphics cores on my APU to increase rendering performance in Premiere. I am currently running a A10-7850k on an AsRock a88x chipset with a cheap NVidia 750TI card for CUDA cores. With the release of OpenCL, I was thinking about putting in a AMD based GPU, but only if I could also enable the APU graphics cores (there are 500-odd cores sitting dormant). AMD Dual Graphics supports a R7 250 card, one of which has 4gb of GDDR5 on it, and I'd have to boost my ram to 32GB of 2400mhz to help out the APU if I did this. Anyway, lots of rambling aside, is this possible? I don't (unless it actually helps) want to enable Crossfire, I'm more interested in gaining the ability to use Multi-GPU via the APU/GPU to speed of Aftereffects and Color Correction in Premeire/Speedgrade. Thanks in advance if anyone has any prior knowledge on this.

I used to use my GPU for the graphics and my APU for a boost but 3DMark says this: GPU: Ice Storm 1.2: 38612 Fire Strike: 725 Dual Graphics: Ice Storm 1.2: 28195 Fire Strike: 566 Is it a bug? What can I do? (Yesterday I installed the newest drivers)

Hi everyone I am trying to hook my friend up with some better gaming performance He has a A8 5500 APU with no dedicated graphic card , i have heard about this dual graphics as a cheap solution to improve gaming performance, and looking at 2nd hand GPU's i find a loooot of goodies at € 20-40. I live in an expensive country, but luckily this is not reflected in the 2nd hand marked. question is: which GPUS will be compatible and which will not. I am looking at everything from AMD Radeon 7850 to R7 245. His builds other specs (loosely): 8GB ram Mitx motherboard (GFU size wont be a problem) good cooling and all around decent components. PSU is shit but i got a new one for him.

My hardware motherboard: Asus A78M-E CPU/APU: A10 7850k GPU: Asus R7 250 RAM: 1x8GB Kingston HyperX Savage @ 2400Mhz HDD: WD Green 500GB PSU: NOX Urano SX 500W (they're made by CWT) OS: Windows 8.1 64bit Latest BIOS version available on the Asus website My RAM is actually running at 2400Mhz. I also tried at 2133Mhz. I've tried the 'stable' drivers as well as the beta drivers from AMD. I've enable IGFX Multi-monitor in the bios. I've 'forced' the intregated graphics. I've set the primary gpu to the discrete one. I've also set the UMA buffer size to 1GB, also tried setting it to auto. No matter what my config is the Dual Graphics option won't show up in the Catalyst Control Center. I just don't know what else to do. If anyone has any suggestions I'd appreciate them. Thank you!

Hello, I have been wanting to upgrade my graphics card for a while now but I don't know what would be the way of doing it. I know a lot of people say its better to have card over two but the difference for me would almost $200. This would be my time having potential dual graphics cards and wanted some advice from people who know a lot better than me. To start I currently have a 260x as my graphics card and was consider just buying the same card or maybe selling it and then buying a gtx 970. My main question is which one would be faster and then what would be the performance difference between them. Also would I need a monitor with two dvi or hdmi ports on it to run dual graphics?

There are many disadvantages of sli and crossfire (poorly optimised drivers). As a result you have a bad gaming experience even if the fps are high. What about dual graphics, are there even more bugs?

hello everyone I have a little problem...I have a msi a88xm-e45 mobo amd a8 6600k APU black edition 1x 8gb patriot viper 3 1600 radeon 6670 core edition and I cant seem to get dual graphics to work. I put the card in and set it to dual graphics in the msi bios, which is too big for my screen for some reason...idk whats the deal there. please someone give me some advice or be willing to give me a walkthrough on how to set this up, which slot to put card in and what port I should use for display output. peace, and thanks, even if all you've done is take the time to read this. I appreciate it

I Built a gaming computer some time last Year for a friend and it worked great with no problems. the specs are listed below: Intel I7 3770k @ 4.2 ghz Asrock Z77 extreme 4 Gskill ripjaws ram 2x 4gb @1600 Diamond Amd Radeon hd 7870 ghz edition I can go in more depth on the parts if needed, but recently he wanted to add a 2nd gpu to run crossfire with so we found the exact same card from the same brand and with the same amount of memory. we connected the cards with a crossfire bridge and made sure that they were evenly spaced for the motherboard. now here is the problem, we looked all over the amd catalyst control center and the crossfire option is not present anywhere, we then made sure both cards were detected and they were both in the windows device manager and listed as running properly. we have spent over 3 days troubleshooting, watching videos, and testing the cards separately and still can not find out why it wont work. any help would be greatly appreciated.

So, I have a XFX XXX edition 850w silver certified PSU. Its about 3-4 years old. My specs are in my signature but I'm trying to get my CPU up to about 4.8Ghz, but I'm wondering because my PC have freezing a lot recently and i think it might be because my PSU wattage is too small. Thoughts? also, would have a lacking PSU wattage be damaging to the rest of my components (eg.GPU)?
