Hello friends, I'm attempting two have both monitors in 4K@120hz HDR. I'm not sure if this is possible, and as the title suggests, I'm unable to run both monitors on 120hz for some reason. Could this be a software issue? I noticed something in specs for the display that I suspect is the reason (highlighted in blue)? I can see that I'm running 12-bit colors, but the specs seem to suggest it's only capable of 120hz at 10 bit? Currently, both screens are 4K res, HDR, 12-bit colors, display 1 is at 120hz while display 2 is 30hz. I noticed I can change display 2 to 120hz but the res will be 1080p. I also noticed that I can individually run either screen, using either cable or GPU port on 4K@120hz HDR but not both at the same time. NOTE - the displays are essentially OLED TVs. I've already done everything in their services menus to set them up as PC monitors so we don't have to investigate that. Looking forward to your feedback. Specs and setup details below. Connections/ports/cables: All HDMI cables are brand new, same type, connected in the correct ports and are capable of running 4k@120hz. So, I'm having trouble deciding because I am driving 2 different resolution displays, 1080p and 4k. I use the 1080p display vertically and mostly for secondary tasks, and the 4k display as my main work and gaming display. I have a ASRock 5600 XT 6GB, and then separately I have 2x PowerColor Red Devil RX 570 4GB cards. So, I'm wondering if it's better to use the 2 cards, so each display is driven individually or the one card for both. Gaming on a 4k display adds to the workload of the GPU so I'm not sure if I should be using a whole card or part of one. Apart from playing games like Minecraft or Valheim, I do some work in Blender modeling or rendering scenes, and photo/video editing. I am hoping someone can give some numbers to justify the answer they give, and i understand that I could pair the 5600 XT with one of the 570s, but I also want to use less power, I have an 850W psu. Any suggestions help!

Hello folks, I'm having a spot of trouble with a two monitor setup after installing a new graphics card. Both monitors worked perfectly on my old card (GTX 560 Ti) so I do not think they are broken. Upon initial installation of the graphics card I was a bit miffed at myself for not checking the I/O more carefully. The new card has DVI-D ports where as the old one had DVI-I ports. I used to use a passive connector on the old system and of course this did not and could not work with the new digital only system. I read around a bit and found out that you can buy an active converter to make this work 'apparently'. A thread on this forum was rather helpful (thanks @Glenwing): So I purchased a seemingly reputable converter in the hopes of smoothing out my problem. Much cheaper than buying a new monitor. I know my VGA only monitor is out of date but, in a word, money. My first monitor works fine via HDMI as expected but my second monitor does not (black screen; no input). The second monitor does appear to be detected even if it does not display anything. Windows shows two monitors in Run > desk.cpl, and I can see it in device manager (are these both remnants perhaps?). My setup: OS: Windows 10 Pro, Version 10.0.14393 Build 14393. Graphics card: GTX 1060 Gigabyte 6GB. Driver version 21.21.13.7653. Monitor 1: ASUS VN247H 23.6-inch Widescreen LED Multimedia Monitor (1920 x 1080, 1 ms, 2x HDMI, VGA, Full HD 1080p, Super Narrow Frame) Connection for monitor 1: HDMI output from card, HDMI input to screen. Monitor 2: Fujitsu Siemens AMILO LL 3220T. Connection for monitor 2: DVI-D output from card through an active converter for DVI-D to VGA, VGA input to screen. Amazon link for the converter: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Adapter-DVI-D-Female-Converter-Display/dp/B01G05RWPO/ I was hoping this would work 'out of the box'. Alas, it appears to not work. I found this thread, which seems to have the same problem but I am confused by the comments. @dewman45 seems to suggest that VGA just will not work with a 1060 but goes on to say that an active converter might work? My thoughts: No-go, too modern GPU with too old screen: RIP. Bad converter? Could work with a more involved converting system but at that point it's probably time to buy a new monitor. Does anyone have any input (haha) on my problem? Thanks in advance, Henduil

Hi! I'm trying to get an old VGA display working with a HDMI to VGA converter but for some reason it only works in safe mode. I have two displays connected to my gtx 960, one trough a DVI-VGA adapter, the other is the aforementioned display using HDMI-VGA converter. I've been trying to use only the HDMI connected display to troubleshoot and it seems like the display enters sleep mode when windows is about to boot up. It works well in safe mode so I'm guessing it's a driver issue. I tried using and older version of Nvidia drivers but the problem presists. Does anyone have any advice? I would greatly appreciate it.

Hello everyone, I tried to plug my monitor via VGA to DVI D converter and it didn't detected. Not even listed on Device manager. Just main monitor listed. I tried to reinstall my graphic driver, still not working. Main monitor : Benq GL2460 (1920 x 1080) Connected to GPU via HDMI Secondary monitor : Samsung Syncmaster 943SNX (1360x768) Connected to GPU via VGA to DVI D converter Mainboard : Asus H110M-E GPU : Zotac Nvidia GTX 1050 Ti Driver : Nvidia 375.70 back then when I still use GT 730, it works both plug into GPU. But it not works for so long, after few days, the HDMI just not detected, and had to use VGA, but that was GT 730, probably broken. Any helps ? Thanks for the answers.

Hi. Simple question. Is it possible to configure Windows 10 to recognize on wich display do I open a folder, or a document and show it on that one? Display 1: D1 Display 2: D2 For exaple: I have the taskbar on both displays. If I open a file explorer on the D1, it appears on the D1. If I close it and open the file explorer from the taskbar of the D 2, it also opens on the D1. The "solution" that I know is open the file explorer, drag it to the D2 and then close it there. Next time that you open the file explorer from the taskbar, will open on the display where you close it. BUT, if then I want to open it on D1, I have to open it, go to D2 and then take it to D1. This happens with everything. So, is there a way to make Windows more "intelligent"? And also, split the button that minimize everything, so if I press it on D1, just affect D1 (and put it on the taskbar of D2, because it doesn't have it) Like if it were two PCs connected with Synergy (thanks, Linus)

My dad recently bought a 4k tv to use as his main display. He set it up alongside his 1080p monitor which he set in portrait mode. But for some reason, the 4k option isn't showing up to change the display. The recommended display setting is 1920x1080 resulting in a horrible laggy experience. The tv is connected via HDMI 2.0, and is plugged into his gtx980 (can't remember if its a Ti or not) via a display port adapter. The side monitor is plugged in via displayport directly into the motherboard. Any help would be appreciated, Thanks!

Hello everyone, I've been using Acer XF250Q Cbmiiprx monitor for a couple of months with Radeon RX 580 ARMOR MK2 8G OC and everything was fine, until i purchased CB241H bmidr, as a second monitor. Whenever there's any kind of animation on my first monitor (background picture changes to another one), the second monitor's videos stutter for 5-10 seconds and then it plays normally. When i tested both monitors in UFO stutter test, Acer XF250Q 240hz suddendly drop to nearly 150 when i open options menu with right click of mouse on second monitor, and when i change background picture to next one, it gets even worse. I've already tried completely removing and installing graphics drivers with DDU, downgrading Radeon drivers to earlier versions, changing HDMI cables/Display port cables, decreasing monitors' refresh rates. At first, the reinstallation of drivers partly solved the problem (decreased the stuttering time), but the problem still persists. Also, when i was tinkering with Windows's accent color, i found out that stutters happen when you change colors or when you turn on the option to automatically pick an accent color from background picture. I have some problems with Wattman's setting being reset every time i turn on/restart computer, but can this problem occur from an overall faulty graphics card or is it software/BIOS related?

Okay, I just recently bought the new XPS 15 Laptop, had everything I need on it, and I am purchasing a second monitor to do dual displays for video editing, photoshop, general multitasking, etc. Whats a good, fair priced docking station that'll work so I can hook up both displays to my laptop? Realistically both displays will probably not be 4k.

Alright, so I'm running Dell's U3417W and S2716DG. I like to have the U3417W as primary when I'm working and then switch the S2716DG to primary when I want to game to make use of that sweet refresh rate and gsync. My problem is that whenever the U3417W is primary the S2716DG gets knocked down to 60hz. I get that gsync won't work, but I want to get that refresh rate back up to 144 when it's secondary. Nvidia control panel shows 144, but it's clearly running at 60. This is totally a first world problem and unnecessary, but Is it possible to have the secondary monitor at a higher refresh rate than the primary? Displays (not daisy chained) Dell U3417W (GPU via DisplayPort) Dell S2716DG (GPU via DisplayPort) GPU GTX 1070 TI (Nvidia Driver - 391.35 (03/27/18)) OS Windows 10 Pro (1709 - Build 16299.309) Edit: Added tags

Hello techies, I am a small business owner from Mumbai, India. I recently got an inquiry for an office setup. The Client has requested a setup where there is one PC/Server and 8 thin clients for the staff are connected to it. The usage is basic, office applications, web use & Autocad just for viewing files nothing heavy. Each of the 8 users must have a dual monitor config. So I was thinking of going for NComputing thin clients, but their dual monitor license thingy is expensive here and needs a special USB adapter which is not available in this country. So I need an alternative solution for this. I request anyone reading this to provide me with potential solutions/options. Any assistance is greatly appreciated. It means a lot! I can elaborate this further if needed. P.S. If possible, please chart a good server/pc config stating the components which would cater the coming 4-5 years. Thank you all!

I'm hoping that someone might know what's going on because searching on the internet is not working. I have both of my monitors plugged into my graphics card (Nvidia 980ti). My right monitor is an Acer connected with an HDMI and the left is an Asus connected with a display cable. This setup has been working for a while but when the driver updated to 390.65 suddenly everytime I turn on my PC my left monitor isn't being detected. I've been having to uninstall the driver and reinstall it everytime I turn on my computer. does anyone have any idea what could be happening?

Hey guys, I am in need of help with something... I have an old Dell Dimension B110 computer (blagh, Dell, right?) and am trying to find an old GPU for it. I am not looking for anything top of the line performance wise (clearly demonstrated by the fact that I have a Dell, and with a celeron at that) but there are some basic requirements... Must be for PCI bus (no ISA (god help us), AGP, or PCIe) Compatible with Windows 98SE Dual monitor support low power consumption (I wish to work with my current 250 watt power supply, which will power 2 cd-rom drives, a 3.5 HD floppy, 2 7200 RPM IDE HDDs, video capture card, internal modem, and the rest of the system (which is at factory specs). I know this sound ridiculous (and it is), but just bear with me. Also I have yet to choose sides between team Green and Red (I grew up on integrated 'cause my family is poor and I spent all my money on drums and Rush vinyls), but I have been thinking about Invidea, Just 'cause. I know this is abit off topic for GPUs but I am also looking for a CD-rom drive with the headphone jack in the from, but black colored (most of the ones I found were beige), a TV tuner card for the same system, a speaker bar for the Dell E153FPf monitor, and palm rest for the keyboard that was shipped with the system (don't have the model number at this time) I know I am asking quite a bit, but any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

I recenlty bought a 20 foot hdmi cable to connect my PC to my TV. As soon as i connected the cable my monitor went black and turned on again with no icons and no mouse cursor, and my Tv was suddenly my primary display. i tried switching my primary display from my tv to my monitor but the option is greyed out. Removing the hdmi cable made my monitor my primary display again but left my monitor's display extremely blurry and fuzzy (almost unusable). I tried nvidias settings and windows settings but i still cant switch my monitor to my primary display and my monitor's display still stays fuzzy and blurry even after i remove the hdmi cable!!! Plz help PS i connected the hdmi to my graphics card's hdmi port along with my monitor(HP 2311x) first 2 pictures are from 'dullicate' option, my monitors display gets rlly big and it looks like i brought put my resolution down but i didnt. last 2 pictures are when i put 'extend' option, my tv goes without icons and cursor but my monitor still works fine.

Alright so I have two Lg monitors and when I set them up the firs time the brightness was off. I managed to fix it by setting them both to the same settings, however now for no apparent reason the brightness is off again. and they are on the same settings but one is still dimmer than the other. They are both Lg 24M47VQ 24 inch monitors. i also noticed this strange "wave" effect on the dimmer screen. I say wave but it doesnt move though. I'll attach a picture. Thank for the help!

I want to hook my graphics card (EVGA GTX 770) to both my monitor and my TV at the other end of my room and have it mirror the output to both. Will doing this make my GPU process the same image twice, impacting performance, or will it be some simple mirroring? If this isn't even possible, are there any other solutions? I'd be happy to hear your discussion!
