I was playing Cyberpunk (Latest update which made the game run perfectly) on my 3070 asus tuf and an i5-11400 on a 1tb HDD and 16 gigs of ram. I was at the part where we needed to save sandra dorset and as soon as i entered her room my GPU usage dropped to 0% and my fps became literally 4. I freaked out thinking i bricked my GPU even tho im not playing on max settings. the temperatures were 55-50. i loaded a part before entering her room and voila ! 60fps again with 85-90% usage since im using V-sync. Is this a game issue or my GPU ? I really hope it isn't the gpu.

Hi all. I've been having this problem a while, for some reason Warzone sometimes just drops to 15-20 fps for 10-20 seconds, almost as if the game thinks its not currently in focus etc and really damages the gameplay. I normally get around 80-90 fps regardless of where I am in the game. RTX 2070, I7-8750H, 16GB DDR4 2666Mhz RAM, Hybrid SSHD Drive. Any ideas? This problem makes the game near unplayable. Thanks in advance, Moz

Hello, Trying to post this again because I haven't been able to find a fix. I just got and installed the RX 6800 card from a GTX 1070 card. I mainly play FPS games. I am able to run call of duty multiplayer fine with no issues, but if I try to play warzone my fps randomly drops from around 110-130 all the way down to 30fps for a few seconds. Now this is the biggest issue. In valorant, and CS GO, the FPS counter is showing 200+ FPS but the game is stuttering, or choppy and is unplayable. It seems like the games that or more CPU intensive are choppy. I did not have any FPS issues with GTX 1070. Valorant also looks FUZZY, the text and everything, the game does not look as clear. The AMD drivers are all up to date. I've used DDU to uninstall Nvidia drivers. I can't seem to find any fix for this. Any help would be appreciated. CPU: Ryzen 5 3600 RAM: G.SKill 3200 16gb PSU: Tooughpower 1200 watt (Older model from 2010's) Motherboard: MSI MPG X570 GAMING PLUS Motherboard

Hi I have some issues currently when playing games and went through some forums which suggested diagnosing with DxDiag. I'm pretty new to this, can someone help? https://pastebin.com/UXL8EhLh I've removed Origin for now, when running DxDiag should this continue to come up (as in it is still installed) or is this just recent history? Some of the problems listed seem to come from applications I kind of need. One thing that seems weird is EVR Power Information - Set to quality, this I don't understand. The system is set to prefer maximum performance in the system power and nvidia panels. Many thanks

Hi. I'm new here and I hope I posted where I should. First, my components: AMD Ryzen 7 2700x with stock cooler (Wraith Prism) Gigabyte Aorus Elite x570 (F10 bios - compatible with AMD 2000 series) Gigabyte RTX 2060 SUPER WINDFORCE OC Kingston HyperX Fury RGB 16GB (2x8GB), DDR4, 3200MHz, CL16, 1.35V Seasonic Focus GX, 80+ Gold, 650W SSD Samsung 970 EVO Plus 250GB BOOT DRIVE (first M2 slot) SSD Samsung 970 EVO Plus 500GB (second M2 slot) HDD Seagate BarraCuda 2TB (all in a well ventilated case) (all parts under warranty) Now I'm going to tell you a short story. I built this computer with the components mentioned above. Everything was fine, the computer started, post, I installed windows 10, I ran a few benchmarks, I checked the temperatures, everything seemed fine. After 2 weeks, it won't start (sometimes it started at first, other times I had to turn off / on the power switch to start, "strange behavior"), I didn't take it seriously. After 3 weeks the serious problems started, while I was in a game, I received BSOD with the following code: DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION (first BSOD). After going through "Your PC ran into a problem and needs to restart. We're just ..." it got stuck in the screen with the AORUS logo (I could enter the bios, but the computer doesm't boot in windows). As I had no other solution and I needed a desktop, I reinstalled windows, all the drivers (everything went well, I was confident that I solved the problems (I know, stupid)). After reinstalling windows, another BSOD came while I was on Google (IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL). It pass from "Your PC ran into a problem ...", the computer restarted, but with major problems: Freezes - are constant, to help you better understand how it behaves, I will give an example, in League of Legends, with 144 FPS capped, goes down to 130 and goes up, very quickly, with a "BZZZ" in the background and a short delay (sound "BZZZ" always appears whenever a drop occurs). It happens to me in any application, on Youtube, on Spotify. Sometimes, it seems that something stabilizes and does not appear, but most of the time it is always present. Sometimes, during these drops, I also receive a BSOD. The most common errors in a week were "MEMORY_MANAGEMENT". The computer doesn't turn off when I press "shut down" (the monitor turns off, the RGB LEDs on the motherboard turn off, but the fans and the processor fan don't, full RPM). If I activate the XMP function in the bios, to change the RAM to 3200MHz, after saving the bios settings, the computer doesn't post anymore (black monitor, full fan speed). To turn it on, I have to turn off the power switch, and hold the power button for a few seconds (if I don't do that, the computer doesn't post, the fans start at full speed). The second M2 slot doesn't work (it didn't work when I tried to format it in the windows installation process, not even after). What have I tried so far? I looked for this error (MEMORY_MANAGEMENT) and found that it may be caused by a faulty RAM. A friend gave me 16 GB RAM (2x8) Corsair Vengeance LPX, 3200MHz, CL16. I replaced my RAM with my friend's RAM and solved the situation partially. I got rid of the BSODs (no BSOD in two weeks), but not the freezes (which behave the same), the "shut down" or the "method of start". I did stress tests (FurMark, OCCT), I never received BSOD during these tests (whether I was using my or my friend's RAM, temps were fine). I reassembled the entire system. Windows, updated to the last available version at this time. What haven't I tried? Many have recommended me to update the bios (I have F10 version now), but because of this strange behavior I'm a little scared, I don't want something to go wrong. I reinstalled windows once, I was thinking of reinstalling it again, but with the RAM from Corsair, maybe is a bad driver or something. Below I left a WhoCrashed log and all the BSODs errors I encountered after reinstalling windows. Thank you if you have read so far, I know I have written a lot, but I have tried to describe it in as much detail as possible, maybe someone can identify the problem exactly or give me some advice. If you need results from other test / software, just tell me and I will post here. I'm not an expert, if I don't find a solution here I'll probably try to RMA the motherboard, I think maybe this is the problem. Even if it has those constant freezes and drops, it's a bit usable, I can do my projects and what else I need. Thank you.

Hello all. First of all, im pretty newbie in terms of any pc component/specifications stuff, however i feel that very disappointing to have 0 fps drops in certain games with recently upgraded hardware. Intel Core i7-9700K Gigabyte Z390 GAMING X Patriot Viper DDR4 16GB (2x8GB) 3733MHz CL17 Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER Gaming OC 8GB Adata XPG SX8200 PRO M.2 NVMe PCIe 512GB Seasonic PRIME GX-750 80Plus Platinum 750W be quiet! Dark Rock PRO 4 When i open game called: "Path of Exile" (didnt test too much on other games, cuz its my 2nd day), i started having 0 fps drops. I understand that this game's optimization is far from perfect, however even then, i shouldnt be freezing that much. Friends with similar hardware, or some with worse ones dont experience similar issues, so i decided to search for answer. Movie showing what i mean: (14s-ish+) https://streamable.com/27bbz8 What i tried so far: - Stress-Tests with FurMark (to check gpu) - 4 hours OCCT (to check cpu) - CrystalDiskInfo (to check disks) - didnt try ramtest but asked shop to "borrow" me other RAM (Goodram 32GB (2x16GB) 3600MHz IRDM PRO CL17) - Turning off Vsync, while setting 60fps either in game or in nvidia panel as "limit" - Switching to different XMP for Ram (mostly lowering it down from 3600) Im pretty running out of ideas. Here is my dxdiag, i can add any more data but im just so fkin lost ;( https://pastebin.com/iKmFiP9R

Alright so to make things quick, pc specs are i7 7700K and GTX 1080 STRIX OC version. I run my GPU, while gaming, at 120% power to get as much juice as possible since this card has an advertised 1920mhz OC but won't reach it unless the power figure is turned up and because it has 3 fans so it stays pretty cool. Anyways, what I'm noticing is that when I have v-sync on, my gameplay is typically locked to 75fps (75hz panel.... IT'S TEMPORARY GET OFF ME :P). I've noticed that just driving around in town that my fps will just drop to 60 or even sometimes below that. But when v-sync is turned off, it never goes below 69 (;P) fps from my last mission that goes from the docks to the inner city. So basically a demanding run. My turbo boost is the only that is "overclocked" on my i7. All stock specs since I'm on tower air for now. So, why is it when v-sync is off, that I get more fps? But when it's on, it can drop pretty damn harsh. This having single monitor performance and maximum performance preferred in the Nvidia Control Panel. Is this what a g-sync panel can fix I assume? I plan on getting one down the road.

Hi guys. It's been a while I haven't visit linus tech tips website just because I am having a wondeful time playing leauge of legends. At first I installed the game at the official website and after that I had an amazing time playing with the game because of the huge fps gameplay like 150fps above in max settings thanks to my new GTX1050tI ZOTAC MINI. But recently I decided to reinstall my game on my other drive because my local drive is having some issues with it's limited size. But after I reinstalled the game guess what I gut fudging 60fps below literately just that point. And after this I don't know what to do to get the fps back on track again so I can continue having a great time playing. For those of you people that really plays lol please help me It will really make a change thanks

Hi, I guess. After much profanity I think I've done the only sensible thing and turned this to an audience with greater computer knowledge. As long as I can remember I've had this issue, but only recently after tweaking with my gpu settings (VIA MSI AFTERBURNER & EVGAPRECISION X OC) it has started concern me. As the graphs show in the linked image I'm having a throtteling issue. I can't see why this would occur and decided that I'll try and fix it once and for all. I've tried swapping around fans to acouple of different positions with no luck. So just recently I've started suffering form massive fps drops in every game I play. I'm usually hovering around the 200-250 fps, and then it's suddenly 30 fps for 2-5 seconds. Also the input is all screwed up whenever this happens (I can't change weapons for example). Al temps are fine, I got task-bar and hardware monitor running on my second screen, and everything is fine, I simply can't find the cause of this. Plz help! Specs: FX-6300 @ 4.5 (evo cooler) GTX 980 (I know, but it was really cheap) 8 ddr3 gb ram Game running of my SSD.

After a few weeks of troubleshooting, still can't figure this out... I've been dealing with what seems like sudden outages in my internet connection in my home for upwards of a few weeks now. I'm connected via Ethernet to my router/modem (Arris) supplied to me by my ISP. I'll be gaming, surfing, watching twitch, talking in discord, whatever the case may be when my internet connection drops. During a game, this results in a massive lag spike, inability to move, etc and when it "reconnects" my ping is super high (going from insane ms like 700) down to the normal ping. extremely frustrating because most of the time it doesn't reconnect, and results me being timed out. When watching a stream or a video, it stops and doesn't continue. Weird part is, on Rainmeter (desktop monitoring app) i'm still transfering data, but windows shows that I have no internet connection. happens to other people around the house on wireless/wired at the same times, but never periodically, seems to be random, because it can go hours before it drops once. I've tried: Unplugging/plugging in router/modem (for varying amounts of time) Restarting the router through settings Resetting PC restart replugging rj45 on both sides (after that i've lost track of all the things i've tried from online forums) Things I've noticed: Router/modem unit itself gets very warm to the touch After replugging the power no drops occur for awhile. Seems to be packet loss related? not sure tho (CS:GO's net_graph shows my packet loss spiking to 50% when a drop occurs, before i'm timed out ofc) Attached are screenshots of Pingplotter after one of the spikes, comparing the packet loss, ping, etc between my default gateway, a CS:GO server, and google.com. Another screenshot is rainmeter during one of the "outages". anyone have any idea on what is causing this?

I am getting random fps drops in games such as rainbow six siege where the fps would all of a sudden drop from 80 to 40 for a second or so then go back to normal. I recently installed watch dogs 2 on my pc. I was getting around 45 to 50 fps but after 30 to 45 minutes the frames start dropping to 15-24 fps especially when I was driving a car. My graphic card and processor are Zotac GTX 1050TI with a factory overclock and i7 4770. My cabinet in only having 1 fan in the back and a stock heatsink. Is my GPU thermal throttling.

Hey, I never had this problem until about a week ago when I started getting periods when my fps would drop to pretty much 0. It started in The Witcher 2 and wasn't too bad. It happened every 10 minutes or so but it was playable. This progressed and got so bad it was every 30~ seconds. I thought it was a problem with the game, but now it is happening in others too.My CPU usage in Dishonored 2 is usually ~60%, but during the drops it falls to under 15%. GPU usage is stable at around 98% but it falls during the drops to about 50%. Temperatures are fine, the CPU never gets above 50C and the GPU never gets hotter than about 65C. I have tried cleaning up the registry with CCleaner, defragmenting my HDD, and scanning with anti virus, but none of these fixed the problem. My specs are:CPU - i7-3770kGPU - MSI R9 480 4GBRAM - 16GB HyperX FuryPSU - EVGA 650 watt G2Thanks for any help.

I'm not sure why this is happening, but it's been plaguing me for some time. See in this video, I get insane stutters. This happens randomly after playing about 20 minutes, and can last anywhere from 10 seconds to 2 whole minutes. I'm not temp throttling, GPU hits 70 max, cpu barely touches 50 in light games like this. It has to be connected to my RX480, since it's the only hardware my last 2 builds have in common. I've gone though about 5 clean Windows 10 installs, at least a dozen DDUs, issue still persists. I don't think the GPU is faulty, after this hiccup, I can play 3 straight hours without a single dip (fallout 4 recently took my life, rip). Any ideas or suggestions? cod.mp4

Hey! I have been playing Grandt Theft Auto V for over a year on PC now. Just recently I've started to get problems. My game won't last for five seconds without the frames taking a dump. I don't know what the cause might be, and I have lowered the graphical settings, and no change. I have also tested other games (new) and no problem there.

Hello, My laptops video card is heavily underperforming and I'm trying to fix this. To give some information about the specs and what I've tried yet. It's an Asus GL503VM laptop. When gaming the max temps the CPU and GPU reach is about 70 degrees celcius. But the problem with the video card is the heavy drops. The GPU core clock drops to around 100-200 MHz and the memory clock drops down to 810, I also have heavy fps drops at that moment. It's already running on high performance, in Windows 10 and in the NVidia control panel. I also tried GPU-Z to measure the results and the clocks were the same as in other programs. I tried multiple versions of the NVidia drivers, they didn't affect the performance. Also updating my bios hasn't fixed the drops. I tried undervolting my CPU and GPU but that didn't affect the drops either. I used MSI afterburner and Intel XTU. It ONLY happens when I'm playing games, it doesn't matter what game I play even if it's 10 years old. The games are barely playable and sometimes they just completely freeze. If anyone has any solution I could try I would really appreciate that, because my laptop is currently useless for gaming when I'm not home. Thanks.
