  1. As stated in the title : Do you have a dream? And I'm not talking about World Peace here ? or about "flying" to the far end of the universe "To Boldly Go Where No Man Has Gone Before..." ? I mean a goal... Something you really want to achieve and are ready to commit time, ressources and who you are in order to one day be able to look at yourself in the mirror and say "I did it!" It's ok if you don't. Some people will find very early in age something that will be their goal in life (and sometime this "goal" will change) and some people don't (ever) and they don't need one. Me ? I had a few, I'm working very hard at one of them atm (my daughter, project of a life time to see her grow up, evolve and become the person she wants to be) but I discovered recently a new one ? It's this :
  2. I had a dream about AMD, where I woke up in the morning, to make myself some tea. So I reached my hand into the box of teabags, pulled one out, and on it says Threadripper. I looked at the teabag which was a shiny metallic silver wrapper, that blinds you, as it reflects under a light, you know this is some serious tea. Then I thought to myself, this probably way to much in the morning, maybe I should just go with the ones I normally drink, but this Threadripper tea has 16 cores and 32 threads! I decided for a good minute or so, like should I go with Threadripper tea or normal tea. I finally made my decision and when with the Threadripper tea, and instead of just 1 bag, I took 2 bags, that's a combine total of 32 cores and 64 threads of awesome-tea-ness! As I was about to make my Theadripper tea, I woke up and went to make tea IRL. And as I was reaching into the box of teabags, my mind was still thinking I actually have Threadripper tea, instead when I pulled the teabag out, it was just the regular tea, and Threadripper tea was nowhere to be found. I then realized it was just a dream, and I'm sad that I never got a chance to try it, and there is no such thing as Threadripper tea. I know this can be a status update, but I just wanted to share my awesome and sad dream with everyone.
  3. I've always wanted to build a computer into a desk. My initial plans were much more grand in scale and included a custom water loop. However, that wasn't as easy to upgrade or maintain when built into a desk. From start to finish the project took me about three months of work mostly done on the weekends. The parts of the computer itself are as follows: MOBO - ASUS X370 Prime Pro CPU - Ryzen 1700x RAM - 32GB G-Skill Trident 2400 Mhz CL 15 GPU - EVGA nVidia GTX 980ti PSU - Seasonic - 850W Platinum OS Drive - 512GB Samsung 960 Pro CPU Cooler - NZXT X72 GPU Cooler - NZXT X61 w/ G12 Case - A heaily used NZXT H440 purchased from eBay was harmed in the making this computer desk. I'll do my best to keep this to a mostly computer related affair, but since my computer is inside of a desk, I had to build the desk. I'll start with the basic frame. I should point out that the frame can be taken apart easily (eight total parts) and moved, a requirement since I wouldn't have been able to get it in my door otherwise. Also note the 'rails' that are inside of the frame. This is how I suspend everything. More on that later. This is what it looks like with the top on it . Everyone of course wants to show off their computer, so I had to cut a hole and then route out an indent. I probably measured this more times than I feel comfortable admitting. I custom ordered a tempered glass panel that fits flush in the cutout. So how does all of this fit together? Kind of like this. The cabinet piece is completely separate and is more of a shell that sits around the computer and stands on its own. The computer sits in a bracket that is suspended by the rails built into the frame. The modular approach was important to me so I could move this large creation if I ever needed to. Most of what's left at this point is to build the computer into the desk. I'll spare you the finishing details of the desk and skip onto the good stuff. The computer was something I mostly already had, but it was time add some additional cooling power. I used my existing NZXT x61 to cool my 980ti and the new x72 to cool my Ryzen 1700x. Bother are overpowered for what they cool but I'm fine with that since I might want to upgrade to power hungry parts in the future (Zen 2). I mounted the radiators to the bracket that holds the computer. Then dropped the computer in and hooked everything up! All of the heat is dealt with outside of the case. The GPU and CPU both run at ambient temperature as long as they're not under sustained load. This is it powered on for the first time in its new home. The jankiest part of the whole build is the 'front' panel IO that's actually underneath the desk. This is the only place I could find to put it. It has two USB 3.0 ports, one USB C port, 3.5mm in/out, and an HDMI port. This makes it very easy to use my VR headset. The power and reset buttons are vandal switches, with the halo LED being the power switch/light and the smaller circle LED being the reset/hd button/light. Since these are under my desk, I don't ever see them, which is nice because they're kind of bright. This is all finished. I added two drawers below the computer for storage. I'm happy to answer any questions. Thanks for taking a look.
  4. So this is basically my first post and I just wanted to open the floor, so to speak, with a few shots of my baby. Next to it is basically an Obsidian 750D I found in the trash, it even had a Blue-Ray disk burner so I lucked out hard with that and I want to use it to make a Monster Rig
  5. So i had this funny/weird dream last night and i thought you guys might be entertained by it so here it goes so there was some kind of apocalypse, i presume a disease or something, so i was in a house in what i presume was California with most of my family, but they all had left to go scavenging and stuff except me and my cousin Kevin. So than a cult that we had never heard of comes into are house and kidnaps us, they bring us to this weird cult called the sleeping dogs where they kidnap people and treat them like dogs, one of the rules is unless you are a camp leader you have to wear an eye-patch over one of your eyes, and only camp leaders can take there eye-patch off, they also don't allow you to talk, the camp was split between camp A and camp B, I went along with the cult and was a really good cult member because i knew how to scavenge because i watched many movies and read many books about post-apocalypse, they sent me to camp a and my cousin Kevin to camp b, of corse we could not communicate between camps, eventually after a few scavenging missions they made me the leader of my camp and took my eye-patch of, the light hurt my eye so much i could barely see, and i convinced them to combine the camps because i really wanted to see my cousin Kevin, but when they finally combine the camps i learn that my cousin Kevin has escaped, so i wait until we are about to do are doggy yoga and then run away (BTW if you didn't catch on they literally treat us like dogs) the first time i run away they catch me, then next day at yoga i try to run away again, they catch me, the day after that at yoga though i manage to escape, meet this guy who i kinda know named Getz running around, i would have made friends with him but i was running away, so i run into a YMCA and then they cant find me, so when i find out the cost is clear i start searching the ymca for food, when i was younger i was at the YMCA all the time so i knew my way around better than most, i go into this supply room that barely anyone knows exists and there is very little food left in there, like two boxes of gram-crackers, there is a little girl and her older sister in there, i let them have the boxes although i am so hungry, i am so hungry in fact i pass out while standing in the dream then i wake up IRL and thats where the dream ends
  6. Hey guys I got this account today and I'm new here so let me know if it is wrong to post this here. But I'm making a new gaming PC that is a little ridiculous and probably too pricey but whatever I'm going to do it. It's basically a copy of Linus' build from one of his newer videos see here: But I changed a couple things namely the motherboard and I want to know A: if this will work? B: what I could change? C: have I screwed anything up. D: Will my motherboard support wireless connection? My router is in a different room and my dog likes chewing Ethernet cables. E: Has anyone built something similar, yet? I am completely new to the PC scene, I've never built one and I've been on console my whole life. So I wanted something that will last me a while with the room and ease to improve. Your opinions will be gladly appreciated and I'm desperate for advice because I'm pretty certain I have no clue what to do. By the way I %100 percent know or think I've gone overboard, but that was my goal as I wanted this to last a long time. Thankyou so much for taking the time to reply and look at this if you do, any advice is much appreciated!! Terribly sorry about giving you the wrong link guys, I'm new here, but thanks for notifying me. Here is the correct link, I think: https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/nhL3m8
  7. Firstly thank you to those mentioned in the above image for supporting my endeavors once again! I'm very excited to start my next personal project R1.0 INDUSTRIAL, after several months of collaborations it's great to be back in full control deciding my own specification. Not only that but setting the pace myself and taking the time to photograph everything and get it all out on the forums! So a little writing about the project first to get things going, much like LIGHTNING this is centered around a very special piece of hardware and providing it with all of the power and cooling required is the main focus. The build won't be adorned with anything unnecessary however no compromises will be made along the way either. As the name implies aesthetically it will remain subtle and raw with nothing for show but nothing to hide. I intend to apply this way of thinking to each individual element and hopefully the end result will remain sympathetic to it's origin. As of this moment I don't have every part but I definitely won't be straying far from what I have decided as so many will be integral to the design of the case. I will elaborate on the reasoning as I unbox things but already it's clear that I have opted for completely colour neutral products with extremely reserved branding. Because there is just something about being instantly hit with 6 fully formed PCIe power connectors that it would be rude to hold back. It comes as quite a shock when 6 screws later a magnificently elegant Cooler Master solution is unveiled, clearly far more attention was put into this than just doubling up their single card efforts. But lets take an even closer look and not pretend a standard cooling solution was ever going to last long in my hands. Very rapidly all kinds of beautiful secrets were exposed, two massive cores, PLX chips and endless power circuitry neatly tessellated inbetween. Considering the PCB size is no bigger than what would be found on a single GPU GDDR5 card the density is insane. A good cleaning was in order to reveal the mirror perfect Fiji cores and all the little High Bandwidth Memes! Already from the little bit of performance testing I managed to do (yeah these two cards instantly smashed my overclocked quad 780Ti's) and my time spent taking them apart I am completely in love with these cards. The brutal insolence of power, crossfire, PLX chips and the effort taken to package everything so elegantly together is astounding. I'll be back very soon with a preview of the case! JR

  9. Hey all I really wanted to show off my build because I’m incredibly proud of it! Plus I’m only 18 I originally started out building this PC in a old Corsair Carbide back in 2013, I was only in the 7th grade!!! I used Neweggs and Linus’ videos for assistance as many fellow newbies back then did too. After completing this build I pretty much set my entire attention and life goal on computers. To be later defined as Computer Engineering! I’m also incredibly proud of my overclocking capabilities with these parts, you can see exactly what I’m talking about by checking out this benchmark. IM IN THE 90TH PERCENTILES https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/11401257 I’m having issues linking PC part picker please view my profile to see every part in the current build!
  10. I found this PC build : https://pcpartpicker.com/user/teoboss/saved/RnQp99. What do you think, shoud i change something ? (i will use it as an editing/graphic design rig)
  11. Hi, A little bit of back ground first: I never built my own PC that was not scrap (I did build a scrap PC with back in the Pentium 3/IDE cable days out of scrap 7-8 years ago). I never had my own tower PC (always laptops), Back in the days computers were expensive, we had a family tower PC, but that had a Intel GMA 850 series graphics. My laptops had (in sequence) a GMA 950 (Toshiba), GTX 320M (Macbook), and HD4400 (surface pro 3). I got the surface due to the laptop/tablet promise, as I had an iPad before, but the syncing was awful. In any case, I didn't let the lack of graphics hardware prevent me from playing games. I remember running TES Oblivion with the GMA 950 and having external software to turn off hardware shaders calls by the game that the intel chip wasn't providing in order to get it to run. I've mostly grew accustomed to 10-30 fps (I used consider 30 fps to be extremely good, after this PC I don't know what to do with all 'em frames). For work, I code and use AWS when I need a computer with a large amount of memory that can run 24/7 (trust me, the surface can't run 24/7). After getting to know the surface, which is an excellent tablet/ultrabook, it cannot handle large loads without thermal throttling and the back gets hot anytime an app/website gets too intensive (e.g. browse Imgur for more than 20 minutes on IE or just use chrome in general, and the back will get hot). This is where I'm coming from. I have also never owned or played on a console before. Ever (OK maybe a couple of times at a friend's house). So this is my build, I want to reduce EC2 usage by running an Ubuntu instance in Hyper-V, as well as play games "the way it's meant to be played" (in 1080p at least, I probably will upgrade to 3x1080p or 1x4K before the end of life for the PC/graphics card). I also plan on travelling home for a few weeks a couple of times a year, so this thing has fit in a carry on and go through air port security. I got the GTX 980 in EVGA's B-stock section, it works (AFAIK, I tried DVI and HDMI ports, no display cables/monitors) and there are no visible blemishes. I'm aware the cable management is down right awful, but the PSU didn't come with any zip ties, so I had to make do with the little metal wire that came with some components. Plus there really is not that much room for it. I have too many external HDDs to justify getting a internal 1-4TB HDD, hence only the boot drive. Things that went wrong: I originally got a Corsair CX 500 but I think there was something wrong with the 24 pin connector. When plugged in 1 of 3 things would happen: 1. Boots fine, but no USB ports work, 2. Fans turn on for less than 1 second and everything goes off again, 3. Nothing. After RMAing that unit and getting a (more expensive) cooler master VS550 everything seemed to work fine. Things I learned: Heat sink fins are really REALLY sharp. The Noctua D14 is a MASSIVE cooler for mini ITX, and the MSI motherboard is designed in such a way that you should plug in all headers into the motherboard before installing the cooler. The Core 500 doesn't leave a lot of room to plug in things after you install the motherboard and power supply. Between the large heat sink and the power supply clamping down right next to the motherboard, you pretty much can't plug anything in after all 3 are installed. So I don't recommend the directions that the Core 500 manual provides (Install PSU first, then motherboard with heat sink attached). I'd recommend putting all the connectors in out of the case (including case headers), carefully move the motherboard (with heat sink) into the case, then moving the power supply in. (refer to 3rd image down to see the tight squeeze) When fans don't turn on, it's most likely a power supply thing (assuming the motherboard works) If you're buying a computer piece meal, use Newegg's offer where if you download their app, it gives you free premier for 3 months. It is EXTREMELY worth it, no RMA shipping label fee and free 3 day delivery for actually free. Price matching on Newegg is a bit finicky, I had to contact them twice for it to go through (both times, the agent said they'll get a gift card to me in 1-2 days, the 2nd one delivered). There also seems to be the rare agent that directly refunds to paypal rather than through gift cards. And if a non-Newegg seller posts something on Newegg (aka if not Sold and shipped by Newegg, the price match doesn't work). I got $107 back, $30 in paypal refunds and $76 in Newegg credit. I'm thinking of getting a mechanical keyboard, since I had to borrow someone else's keyboard to setup the computer because all I had was a bluetooth keyboard, any suggestions? Thanks for reading.
  12. Hey everybody! Welcome to my dream rig that I am finally building after thinking about it for years. Ever since I started getting into computers and watching Linus' videos, I've wanted to build my own badass gaming machine. However that was back when I was about 15 years old and didn't have the money or the know-how to do such a thing. However, I have now taken the plunge and started building my dream rig, so let's get going! Here's the parts list: SYSTEM COMPONENTS: Case: Corsair Carbide Air 240 Motherboard: Asus Z97-M PLUS Processor: Intel Core i5 4690k Memory: Kingston HyperX Fury 16GB 1866mhz Graphics Card: EVGA Geforce GTX 760 SC ACX EVGA Geforce GTX 980 SC ACX 2.0 Storage: Seagate 1TB Hard Drive Crucial M500 960GB SSD Power Supply: Corsair RM650 COOLING: Processor: Coolermaster Hyper 212 EVO (EK Supremacy EVO Nickel Plexi) Graphics Card: EK FC980 GTX Copper Acetal Radiators: EK Coolstream XT120mm and Hardware Labs Black Ice Nemesis 240GTS Pump: Alphacool Liang DDC310 w/ Barrow Clear Top Reservoir: Barrow PMMA DDC Pump Integration Reservoir Tubing: Primochill 3/8 x 1/2 PETG Coolant: Mayhems Pastel Orange Fans: 2 Corsair AF120's 3 Fractal Design Venturi HP-12's Fittings: - White Monsoon Hardline Economy Fittings - NoName Drain Valve - Barrow Clear 3-way Junction Fitting - XSPC Male to Male Fitting - Barrow Clear Plug ACCESSORIES: Cables: Icemodz Value Extensions Orange and White Icemodz Front Panel Extensions White ModDIY White Sleeved USB 3.0 Extension Bitfenix Alchemy White Sleeved HD Audio Extension Backplate: V1Tech Nvidia Claw White and Orange Acrylic Backplate Case Lights: NZXT 2m White LED's Cheap NoName eBay LED Strip PERIPHERALS: Monitor: Asus MX279 27" 1080p IPS Speakers: Audioengine A5+ and Audioengine D1 DAC Keyboard: Logitech G710+ Mouse: Func MS3² and Steelseries Hard Mousepad So those are the parts i'll be using. For what I do with the system, general use and gaming, it is a little overpowered because I don't play many AAA titles. However I decided to use powerful components like this because once the system is liquid cooled, it'll be a pain in the ass to upgrade, especially since i will be using rigid tubing. The only reason i'm using rigid tubing, and probably the only reason anybody uses it, is for the looks. It'll be a bit of a pain to work with but i'm up to the challenge because I know the results will be stunning. That's all I have to say about the build and the idea in general for now, so let's get on to the building itself! The first thing I bought was the Air 240. And when I first got it, I was surprised that the outside was white, but the inside and chassis itself was black. So that had to change. I stripped it down, which is super easy to do in this case, and painted the chassis white. Since i'm lazy however, I only painted the parts that people will see; inside the main chamber and the back. It turned out good enough for me, but it's certainly not perfect. And while I was painting the chassis was when I decided to do the orange accent colour. Originally, I was going to do absolutely everything white. Complete white out build. But while painting it I decided it might look a bit bland, so I went and picked up a can of orange spray paint and sprayed the grilles orange. The bad part of all of this is I lost all of the pictures I took of the painting process. I have been buying all of the parts in stages so after I bought the case, I waited about a month until I bought the motherboard, CPU, memory, and power supply. So here is a quick potato quality phone pic I snapped while i was temporarily assembling everything to make sure it all worked and posted and everything. Now i'll warn all of you that I often get carried away and forget to take pictures while I work. And when I do take pictures, they are often with my phone. Now this is where things get a bit unusual and possibly controversial. I bought an Asus Z97M-PLUS because it was on clearance at my local computer store. However the brown PCB was the ugliest thing I have ever seen which needed to change. So I did some googling and found out that (apparently) it's safe to Plasti-dip motherboards! Since I really wanted to get rid of the horrible brownness, I went ahead and did it. Here is the motherboard (mostly) masked up. The keen viewers will notice that I forgot to mask off the M.2 slot which I noticed shortly after taking that picture. I also took off the CPU mounting bracket, and the heatsink for the power delivery stuff right beside the socket, because I painted that with spray paint. I did 5 coats of dip on the motherboard, and took a picture after each coat. I think it turned out very well! I also painted the large gold chipset heatsink too, which I forgot to take pictures of. So after all of that had dried, I started to reassemble everything. There is the occasional rough edge where the tape peeled up the dip a bit, but a lot of it isn't visible. You can also vaguely see the white painted mosfet (or whatever they are) heatsink. Here you can see the white painted chipset heatsink. And there is the motherboard stuff all put together. I am currently just using a Hyper 212 Evo from my previous computer because I still want to overclock before I liquid cool. There is a small problem with this though... The side panel doesn't fit because the cooler is too tall... but I would much rather have the side panel off than use the stock Intel heatsink. And here it is all assembled and lit up with my old GTX 760. And that is all i'm posting for tonight. This isn't how the computer looks right now and I still have more pictures and stuff to post, but I need to go to bed so i'll post the rest of it tomorrow. Anyways, hope you guys enjoy my first meaningful computer build as much as I have so far! I would love to hear what you guys think of it! Also if the pictures for some reason don't work, i'm sorry in advance. I'll fix it ASAP
  13. Hello guys, Thanks for coming over. I'm planning to build a desktop for about €1000-€1100 This is the list I had about in mind: Cpu: Amd Fx-9370 Gpu: Msi GeForce GTX 970 Gaming 4G Mobo: Msi 970 Gaming Ram: G.Skill TridentX Psu: Corsair CX750M Ssd: Kingston SsdNow V300 120GB Hdd: Seagate Desktop St2000DM001, 2TB Cpu-Cooler: Cooler Master GeminII M4 Case: NZXT 450 Noctis I'm just slightly wondering tho either it's actuerly a good idea to go with a air cooled cpu if you'r running Amd, Since the Fx-9370 is kinda overpowered when overclocked and can reach up to 5GHz (Not that I'm planning to go that high tho.). I was thinking either it'd better if i'd just pick up a basic AiO cooler. Also, with the noctis I'm planning to make it like the main piece of my room so Thats why I've chosen for the GeminII 4M because it's so nice and thin and won't block the viewing capability in the case. However!: If I'd go for the GeminII 4M, Would I defenetely need low profile Ram with the 970 Gaming? If not I think I could save some out there. If you have any ideas on how to improve this system, for the same amount of money or answers to my questions. Please, reply
  14. I would like to build a gaming PC. I've been doing a lot of research on how to build a gaming PC. Let me tell you guys what I am looking for. I want to use this case: http://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Carbide-SPEC-01-Gaming-CC-9011050-WW/dp/B00I6BJATW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1445081572&sr=8-1&keywords=gaming+case I'd prefer a CPU by Intel and would like to use just the stock heatsink. Also I want to use a GTX 970 graphics card. I don't plan to do any high end gaming. I just want to play League of Legends, World of Warcraft, and a few other games at 1080p with 60fps+ at max settings. If anyone knows a better graphics card for around the same price, that'd be great. As for the memory and ram I want to use a 1TB hard drive and 16gb of ram, so if anyone could recommend me on what to get that'd be super helpful. PS: Price range at $1500 max. If anyone can help me out or has any other questions to ask me I'll answer as best as I can, thanks.

  16. Go to: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/sHKjTW This is my Pc build that i put together on Pc part picker. Id like anyone who is a veteran at building computers to check and see if I bottle necked or messed up anywhere. My concerns: 1.The right wattage? I went 60 watts over what PC Part Picker said. Is that appropriate? 2.Do i need more fans for my case or a better fan for my CPU? 3.Any Bottle necks. 4.Products that aren't reliable. ex. Break in a few months I Plan on using this comp for Gaming/Streaming/Video editing/Browsing the web
  17. Ok, so I have dared to enter the realm of budget pc builds. This is my first budget list, and from the price point, it seems good. here is the link. So, for those of you who don't trust amazon, here is the parts list: - Intel Pentium G3258 - Zalman T5 Micro ATX case - ASRock ATX DDR3 1600 LGA 1150 B85M-DGS Motherboard - 16GB Kingston Tech ValueRAM (2x 8GB) @ 1333Mhz - EVGA 500 watt 80+ Bronze non-modular PSU All of that adds up to about $270 US Dollars ($360 Canadian, 255 Euros, 18 Pounds) without shipping, since I have prime. NOTE: I currently have an Nvidia GeForce GTX 750 Ti FTW That I will stick in there. Also, I will have it running Ubuntu, so no cost for windows AND a lot of steam games are supported! So, if you have any recommendations, please let me know.
  18. hello, i want small compact gaming rig around 6500sek (swedish crown) 700€ or 750$ i want complete deskstop (all components) just without GPU. i was looking for something like mb: asus maximus vi impact cpu: i5 4690k psu: silverstone 500w modular sfx-L (its 80+ gold if i saw well) ram: hyperx fury (2x4gb) 1866MHz ddr3 non-ecc cl10 storage: any ssd (250gb-no more) + i already have one HDD 1tb cpu cooler: ??? 19. So last year i said to my self, i wanted to spend a unconventional amount of money on a pc that i could have only dreamed off a matter of years ago, i had the time and money and i said what the hell. I began by looking at my old system (i5 3450, 8Gb Ram, GTX 650) and seeing what i wanted to use from it i eventually decided to keep nothing except the HDD. The first component i bought was a 4790k around launch time. i coudn't find the motherboard i wanted and put the project on hold for a good 2 months. The CPU Gathered Dust and Became a piece of furnature, around this time i was going to list it one ebay when the perfect motherboard showed up (MSI GAMING 5) People on the forum at the time said to me "Why this motherboard" and the simple answer is its easy to paint black. so i bought the motherboard, case, GPU and all the other Components i needed to finally put my dream machine togeather, Here are the pictures. 1.
  20. Hey guys, this is my build log of Chrysos, the Ultimate Gaming PC. This was a gold/copper colored theme PC. The build (of which I already have some of the parts, and getting others for a reduced price) will cost about $1340.38 USD retail. But I am getting all of these parts for about $1100 USD. Some backstory: I was already thinking about selling my computer for another one, and as I was taking Pictures on Ebay, and I figured out Digital Storm (The retailer that custom built my PC, had hot glued some of the parts in, this included the Molex connectors and the SATA power and data cables for my main HDD. I attempted to do a really risky move and pull the SATA cables out to get verification photos of the hard drive. I slowly peeled off the hot glue and pulled out the SATA cable out. As I pulled it out I heard a little pop, I was kinda concerned but didn't think much of it. I took the photos and plugged the cable back in. It would not go back in however. I looked at the hard drive receiver and what I found was horrible. The pins of the hard dive were all bent in unrecoverable positions and the plastic piece that supports them, was shattered (for some unimaginable reason). Now, I could have just bought a new HDD and OS, but my computer was suffering and slow, so I started selling them. Steps are ordered in highest priority and will be updated with the build: Step 1: Choose parts and get money for Build by selling old PC parts on Ebay Here is the parts list: PCPartPicker part list: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/rr7wFT Price breakdown by merchant: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/rr7wFT/by_merchant/ CPU: Intel Core i5-4690K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor ($199.99 @ Micro Center) CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Seidon 120V 86.2 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler ($29.99 @ Newegg) Motherboard: Asus Z87-A ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($79.99 @ Newegg) Memory: Kingston Beast 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-2400 Memory ($127.27 @ TigerDirect) Storage: Western Digital WD Green 2TB 3.5" 5400RPM Internal Hard Drive ($77.90 @ Directron) Video Card: MSI GeForce GTX 970 4GB Video Card ($409.99 @ Amazon) Case: Phanteks Enthoo Pro ATX Full Tower Case ($99.99 @ Amazon) Power Supply: Corsair Professional 1000W 80+ Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8.1 (OEM) (64-bit) ($87.75 @ OutletPC) Case Fan: Corsair Air Series SP120 Quiet Edition (2-Pack) 37.9 CFM 120mm Fans ($27.98 @ OutletPC) Case Fan: Corsair Air Series AF140 Quiet Edition 67.8 CFM 140mm Fan ($22.98 @ Directron) Case Fan: Corsair Air Series AF140 Quiet Edition 67.8 CFM 140mm Fan ($22.98 @ Directron) Case Fan: Corsair Air Series AF140 Quiet Edition 67.8 CFM 140mm Fan ($22.98 @ Directron) Case Fan: Corsair Air Series AF140 Quiet Edition 67.8 CFM 140mm Fan ($22.98 @ Directron) Total: $1232.77 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2015-03-01 11:13 EST-0500 Thanks! 21. Well, I attempted (on pcpartpicker) to make the best gaming rig that isnt super overkill, but is still extremly powerful. It would work for anything from gaming to website servers, minecraft/ other game servers, or almost anything else. This is my dream PC. 22. Hi Everyone, I just wanted to share a build I am doing with my son. He's in the Military and his first deployment is coming up. Parts: (For starters) (Custom Watercooling by June 2015) AMD 9590FX Processor w/ Coolermaster Seidon 120m AIO cooler (Won in Contest) ASUS Sabertooth R 2.0 Motherboard (Purchased) AMD Gamer Memory R9 2400Mhz 16GB Dual Channel Memory AMD/OCZ 240GB SSD WD 4TB Green HDD WD 4TB/8GB Black SSHD XFX R9 280 3GB GPU Seasonic 1050w XM2 PSU Bitfenix Recon Fan Controller w/ 3x 230mm Spectre Pro, 4x 140mm Spectre Pro, 2x 120mm Spectre Pro fans (Red LED Version) Rosewill Blackhawk Ultra Gaming Case (Purchased) But for that starts he has been wanting a "Dream PC Build" for some time. Well since winning a 9590FX processor by AMD's #Spreadjoy on Twitter it was time to start shopping for the parts to make this dream a reality. First the processor, as I mentioned is a 9590FX, 8 Core, 5Ghz (Turbo) Processor with an included Coolermaster Sedion 120mm AIO cooling solution. Second we chose the Asus Sabertooth R2.0 board for the build. Reason for this was 1)Military Grade Testing and 2)Asus Reputation and Quality of Products 3)Color: Going for a military like theme. 4)Features and Overall Design. Third thing we chose was a gaming case. He picked out the Rosewill Blackhawk Ultra Gaming Case. See the link here where Linus reviewed it. More coming soon!
