I'm having an issue with pfsense. Whenever I download some bigger files the DNS stops responding and I need to restart the macine. It's running the latest pfsense build. I had a similar issue in 2.6 when downloading but it dns would start responding again after a heavy download finished. Machine is an AM1 5150, 12Gb DDR3, two nics (1x dual port 1x quad port) I'm considering doing a fresh install if I messed up any setting.

So i wanted to know if this is related but, was playing cyberpunk a few days ago and my gpu usage went down to 0%. It went away after loading my game to the last save is that a game bug or a gpu issue? Fast forward to today i was playing dead by daylight with my friends while downloading an 18gb file. Using IDM and while i was leaving the match it happened again. Gpu usage 0 and building up slowly to 50% again like how it was always on DBD BUT there was stutters. I checked by pressing the windows key, opening youtube al functioned normally. Also notived that IDM finished the download and was in the rebuilding phase so it was 80% disk usage. I tried to be smart after downgrading my gpu drivers and try to download a smaller file and try once it starts rebuilding and yup. 7 second freezes moving between menus in the game etc and usage dropping to 0 On the gpu and jumping to 80% out of nowhere. It got way less and maybe even disappeared after the IDM rebuild stare So is my gpu bad? Or did i just meet a game bug and an HDD traffic issue?? Sorry i am paranoid. But why does this happen during the rebuilding phase if this is the case? Rig : 11400 Rtx 3070 asus tuf 16 gb ram Hdd 1tb blue WD Ssd 240Gb kingston nv1

At the launch i downloaded the game and played about 10 hours than an update came along while i was downloading the update electrics gone off in the middle of the update. After completing the update game wouldnt start so i checked the integrity of the game files and it sait 37 files should be redownloaded and it started redownloading the WHOLE game, i waited a night and whole 57 gb were downloded. Than i try to start the game again it says there is a update. I started downloading update now but the weird thing is the update was 20gb and while i was downloading its getting larger i recently downloaded 8gb of the ‘update’ and now it says 28 gb instead 20 gb?!?! Whats happening, what should i do?

Hey! I'm having this strange issue where my pc slows down and evetually freezes when downloading big files (With big files, i mean files of 1 GB or larger). With slows down i mean it starts lagging real bad, button presses takes several seconds to register and applications might even stop responding completely. Pausing the download stops the lag from getting worse, but the lag that has already appeared doesn't go away until i restart the PC. If i let the download go for long enough, my PC evertually completely freezes and nothing on screen moves. This forces me to use the physical power button (or reset button) to restart my system. At first i thought that it was UTorrent that was slowing down my PC, since it was most often when torretning that i discovered the slow-down. But after trying to download GTA 5 yesterday (via the rockstar social club installer) the PC decided to slow down aswell. The issue seems to only affect my PC and not other PC's on my network, since my laptop for example can handle dowloading large files just fine (even though it's several years old). This makes me believe that it is not a networking issue. Things that i have tried to fix my problem so far: Searching for viruses using Malwarebytes, Avast Antivirus and Windows Defender. All of them showed nothing. Cleaning the system of any junk files and old restore points (using windows disk cleanup and CCleaner) Unistalling junkware Replacing the torrent downloading software System specifications: Motherboard: MSI Z87-G45 Gaming Memory: Crucial DDR3 BallistiX Sport 1600MHz 2x4GB Processor: Intel Core i5-4670k Cooler: Corsair H60 Hydro Series GPU: MSI Geforce GTX 780 HDD: WD Desktop Green 1TB SSD: Crucial M500 SSD 2.5" 120GB PSU: Corsair CX 600M My network is a fiber 100 Mbit/s Download, 10 Mbit/s Upload solution.

While downloading large games on steam (in this case Shadow of War) my PC freezes if I don't touch my computer for a while. Everything is fine if I continue using it but once I step away and come back in a few hours, my computer has frozen. Any idea what could be causing this and/or how to fix it? Thanks!

But whenever I start downloading any games from steam, my connection immediately drops to 20-100 kbps! I don't know what to do or if it has to do with the drivers and I need help Immediately. I sue to have a usb adapter before I went Ethernet.

How does Steam download updates for games without re-downloading all the files? My complete guess would be some kind of checksum...check... then update based on that but i have no idea how and its kinda got me curious.

I just bought Uncharted 4 and I downloaded it from the PS Store and inbetween each chapter or so it pauses and takes an hour to download. Is there any way to download the entire game without having to download each individual segment?

Hello! I am having a lot of trouble with my Note 4 and can not fix it. I will list what happened from the start to now below. It all started about midnight a couple of days ago, my phone suddenly started to act up, lagging and freezing, the keyboard taking forever to come up, and things like when I wake up the phone from sleep I would try to use the finger scanner and nothing would happen, falling back to sleep moments later. Eventually the phone would just reboot out of nowhere. occasionally the phone would actually run at full speed, but would eventually go back to its laggy state. The next day I contacted support and they had me boot into safe mode and it wasn't laggy at that moment, so they assumed it was an app that I had installed, but I believe this is wrong because I did not have any questionable apps installed, all of them were straight from the play store. (I did not spend much time in safe mode so I am not sure if it was just the phone deciding to not act up) but I still uninstalled recently installed apps, and of course it was still the same, and now started to get into restart cycles where it would continuously restart without the ability to simply get an option to turn off the phone without removing the battery, and even would occasionally get stuck on the note 4 splash screen. Eventually I decided to boot without a sd card inserted to see if that would help, but it booted to a screen with the android logo, and below that text stating "DOWNLOADING !! DO NOT TURN OFF TARGET" and smaller text in the upper left corner. This of course scared me so I contacted support once again and they told me to remove the battery and put the sd card in again, so I did, and it booted and got stuck on the splash screen at which she told me to go to best buy and get a software recovery. Again, I did as told, and the employee seemed to know what he was doing, and also told me I should pick up a new battery (knock off or not) so yet again, did as told, and the problem was fixed, but only temporarily, with the lagging coming back, and for some reason the percentage for the battery showing 0% at some point along the line. Just recently I had to boot again and got that odd downloading screen again but I had the sd card in this time, so I just removed the battery and restarted, and booted normally which leads me to now. The Samsung employee at best buy said that if the battery and recovery did not help that I had three options, 1- Go to at&t and see if I can get a new phone under warranty, 2- send it in for servicing, or 3- Buy a new phone. At this point we are going in to at&t and seeing what we can do but I still wanted to see if anyone on here knew what caused all of this so I can prevent it from happening in the future, or even possibly fixing it if they refuse to give me a new phone or fix it for cheap or free. TL;DR - Phone is being laggy, gets caught in restart cycles, stuck at splash screen and a bunch of other weird things. If anyone could possibly tell me what is going on it would be greatly appreciated!

Hi, I am looking for a new router to replace the normal TalkTalk standard one that is under £80 and can handle video streaming, gaming and alot of steam downloads ect. I am looking at the ASUS RT-N56U and the TP-LINK Archer C5. Should I get a AC router or get a solid normal one that will handle the things I need. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks

Hi all, I recently made a post similar to this one but have decided to redo it to provide more information. I put together my computer over the weekend using the following parts: i7 5930K Processor Asus Rampage V Extreme Motherboard Samsung 850 PRO 1TB SSD G.Skill Ripjaws 4 32GB RAM 2400Mhz (4x8GB) Nvidia GTX 560 Ti Video Card (Pulled from old PC for temporary card) EVGA 1200W P2 Power Supply Windows 8.1 Pro 64 bit. The issues I am having are that many of my downloads seem to be failing. I tried to install Planetside 2 and observing the details screen it seems that it is retrying to download files multiple times and eventually tells me that it is corrupted and to try again later. A similar issue arose with Ubisoft's Anno 2070 through Uplay. The download actually finishes completely but when I try to install it I get a CRC error telling me something along the lines of the original file downloaded does not match. I was able to install ESET NOD32 Anti-virus 8, malwarebytes, Steam, and Uplay. I used Ninite.com to install the various runtimes, Google Chrome, and other applications. I was also able to install all but 1 optional windows update. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I am decent with computers but a lot of this technology is new to me (First time seriously using a Solid State) and I am not sure if I just need to change a setting or if this is a deeper hardware issue. Any help as always would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Longbow

Not sure if this goes here, feel free to move it. With the new patch out of bf4, I've gone ahead and started redownloading it for the like, 4th time. At this point I feel like a battered housewife saying "its not his fault, I burnt the roast!" >.< So, with bf4 having a total size of 50.2gb, It's obviously going to take a hell of a while to download, and I'm just wondering if playing a single player game like borderlands 2 in steam, is going to slow down my download of bf4, or if it could negatively effect the downloading in some way?
