I have a 55GB file that i want to upload to a server where i can give people the link and then them be able to download it. My budget is around £15/$20 a month. I would prefer a 1Gbps port but 100Mbps is fine. I'd imagine i will be using about 10TB of transfer a month maybe less so either a unmetered or high bandwidth connection is best. What would be the best way for me to do this? Would it be just storing it on a service such as Google drive and paying for a bigger drive space? I plan to upload other large files in the future so 200GB+ of space will be required sooner rather than later. Or would the other best way to be to buy a cheap dedicated server or vps? Any recommendations and thanks for your help. Luke.

Hi, I am looking for a help with online file delivery solution. I am capable of coding it myself but I don't have time for that right now, so I'm asking if anybody doesn't know of existing solution. I will be selling a DVD with video from some event. Like 100 copies. Last year people complained that they don't have anything to play these DVD on. So I figured that I will include ONETIME USE ONLY link with digital download. (I would like to put it for free but I need to cover the cost of the cameraman and so on.) So I'm looking for solution where can I serve this single file locked with multiple unique passwords that are one time use only (so they won't share it). Idealy just a link and single password, no username. Either a ready made commercial solution or something I can serve from my trueNas core server. For example from my Nextcloud. Thank you everyone for tips.

Hi! I work at a studio and I have to download large files from their server everyday. I am WFH and just upgraded to 1gb internet. My speeds are great on and off the VPN I use when using Speedtest or downloading games from steam. These files I am downloading though only download at around 20mbs and I have no idea why. I have been told there should be no limit from the server and that my trace routes all check out and nothing seems out of the ordinary in regards to all of that. Any ideas or direction would be amazing!

Before moving my computer's download speed was fine, but after I moved locations and set-up my computer again, the download speed is less than 50 MB/s . For some background, the people in the home have no problems with the internet, and in fact when I take a speed test my download speed is the same as everyone else(I am hooked up to ethernet). When I try to download something it downloads significantly slow at the aforementioned speed. I factory reset my computer, I got a new SSD, reset CMOS, re-seated my ram, I also used a different ethernet cord just to see if it was the problem(it wasn't). I obviously think it's something to do with my computer itself, and I am thinking that the problem may be the motherboard itself, although I am hoping that it is not. If anyone else have any other ideas please let me know. I don't know what could have happened between the time I moved locations.

So, every time I download pretty big file, like almost 1GB. Google Chrome tends to stop download halfway (0 bytes/s), but I don't have internet problem, I can still open sites like YouTube, Steam, LTT, etc.. Any ideas why Chrome stops downloading? I've tried using Download Manager, but I had no luck (error).

First I want to preference that I do know the difference between Mbps and Mbs. I am also hooked up through about 25ft of cat5e Ethernet. I pay for giggabit internet but most often get realistic speeds around 800Mbps for download according to Speedtest.net. But when I got to actually download something I normally get speeds around 15Mbs. This is consistent across the board. Whether I do GamePass for PC, Battle.net or Steam. Only once have I seen the actual speed of a download hit 97Mbs. I thought that maybe my ISP was throttling gaming services, so I tried a VPN and things still did not add up. If there are any tips/ideas to fix the issue, they would be greatly appreciated!

The title is pretty self-explanatory, but I want to buy a Windows 10 USB Drive from them for my friends PC. Do they sell the physical keys, or do they only sell digital keys?

Hello ladies and gentlemen, currently I am experiencing a first world problem. Whenever I download a game via Steam, the download doesn't barely uses a fraction of my actual bandwidth. When starting a download, it will begins at around 60MB/s, which is nice but then it drastically drops to around 15MB/s and sometimes the download will even stop. I went through some steps to try to improve this issue, as the following: -deactivate Firewall. -deactivate Antivirus. -fidget with the Steam download options -end unessecary tasks running in the background -clear the Steam download Cache -Update all sorts of drivers. -lots and lots of restarts Sadly none of this helped me. I also checked my hardware and the specs of each of them: MPG X570 Gaming EDGE WIFI: Ethernet port should provide 1000Mbit bandwidth. CAT 6 Ethernet cable: connected Fritz Box 7560: CAT 6 Cable connected to one of the 1Gb ports. HDD: ST2000DM008 The Interhnet connection itself should also not be a problem you can check the screenshot. Im thinking that the HDD is Bottlenecking the download speed or is there something else? Im looking forward to your responses :)

My internet should be fine, because Epic launcher or youtube. twitch works just fine (net download is 100mb/s from provider) ... and one more thing i noticed while downloading from steam - computer is laggy as hell, even discord voices came out robotic and lagging when downloaing.. I think impoortant Specs are: MSI MEG X570 UNIFY Ryzen 5 5600x 2x 970 evo Samsung m.2 ssd 1x Sabrent Rocket m.2 ssd Router: Asus Rog GT-AC5300 And i have a 1000mbit/s internet connection. Steam dowloads with around 100mb/s while Epic always dropes to 800kbit/s. Since i dont think that i am limited by my internet connection or my SSDs i think its something to do with some settings ? Also i installed launcher new, tried wifi and set a limit on download speed.

Ok, so, I'm just wondering if anyone has some obscure fix for this. Other downloaders like Epic Launcher, Ubisoft, and Blizzard Launcher don't do this. The pretty much stay at full throttle through the whole download/installing process, im at my wits end with this dumb issue. My second rig has the same exact issue. I'm pretty versed in networking and computer operations and have tried a lot of one off fixes in the past. If someone has any sort of fix for this please respond.

Hello, I have been having a very annoying problem while trying to do downloads like on steam. I have a 1 Terabyte TeamGroup GX2 Sata SSD (I dont think this has to do with the problem though). Whenever I start a download my disk usage climbs up to 100% and sits around there and the download starts to go slow. I have tried methods like stopping superfetch and defragmenting my drive to no avail. Is this a normal thing or is there a fix for it? My downloads used to not shoot up to 100% disk usage and would go smoothly and quickly. Also, I do not think it has anything to do with my internet because I have speedtested it and it is working just fine on my phone as well. Any Ideas?

Downloading issues, potentially hard drive issues? Help!
crazytuna posted a topic in Troubleshooting
I was downloading a game on steam and after about 40 minutes of it downloading at 20mbs it all of a sudden dropped to 0 with occasional spikes up to 200kbs. Since then, I have been unable to have steam download any faster than that. Restarting the app or my computer will let it download at 20mbs for about a minute before it tanks again and drops to 0. My computer as a whole is slow, its slow to pause the download and slow to start the download as well. I tried downloading a game on Origin and it was about the same story. Started off around 20mbs and then just dropped until it was at 2mbs and stayed around there. I know it is not my wifi, my brother is downloading games fine and all speedtests are coming back good. I've done a virus scan and it came back clean as well. Someone please help, in my 4 years of using this computer I've never encountered this issue.- 2 replies

My wife and I have mostly chatted long-distance on Messenger for most of our relationship (6 years and counting), and it'd be a hard blow if we lost any of the contents by some freak of nature (i.e. Facebook going out of business, however unlikely that is). Is there a piece of software or a method I could use to back everything up in say, a PDF format? I've looked at the Decipher Download tool, but I just want to make sure there's no other method floating out there before I drop $20 on mystery software. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks a lot!

Hey guys, it's my first post here on ltt and I'm having this problem for a while now, i read on the web that it's beause frecuencies and that kind of stuff, but can anyone tell me why? I have a Razer Kraken TE with my PC that's a workstation, I don't know the model of my motherboard but what I can tell is that it's pretty old, i think 2007 maybe or 2010? It came with a quadro fx 5800, but I change it. Anyways do you guys know what it's really happening here? Because I don't understand. This pair of headphones came with a DAC i think, if I connect only the jack to my jackport on my pc it stops, also I tested out with everysingle game on "Observation" it's just unplayable with headphones, the sound starts to crack and won't stop till i unplugged or mute it.

Sorry I don't whether to post this on peripherals or networking, maybe troubleshooting instead, yea.... Anyways I noticed when I was using my laptop, while using a wireless keyboard, the download speed absolutely tank. Here's the speedtest results : Here's when I didn't use the keyboard : After trying stuff to eliminated any variable. I found out that was the dongle that was causing it. Cause even when I turned off the keyboard the down speed still sucks. But when I connected the keyboard via wired the down speed comes back to normal again. Does anyone what's causing it??? Can it be fixed???

Okay so as crazy as it sounds, high speed WiFi is kinda new to me so bear with me here. My roommate and I have the exact same PCIe WiFi card as we unfortunately cannot use ethernet connections at our new house . Specifically its the TP-Link AX3000 (Archer TX50E). Our ISP is AT&T, and we are signed up for the 1,000 plan. Our connection is a symmetrical fiber optic connection, so our download and upload speeds should be roughly the same from what I understand. I am getting about around about 600-700 down (not the full speed but its WiFi so I obviously expected that), and about 500-600 up. This is completely acceptable for me. However, my roommate is getting around 400-600 down, and about 10-20 up. On his end its acting like a cable connection rather than a fiber connection. Again, we have the exact same card. Here is his speedtest: And here is mine: He has contacted TP Link about this and we have been through the ringer trying their troubleshooting. I had myself convinced he got a faulty card, but then we decided to switch them out and see if my PC suffered the same upload. To our surprise, it didn't. Which would lead me to believe that its something to do with his PC that's causing the slow upload, but I cannot for the life of me figure out what it might be. His motherboard is the B450-F Asus ROG, which has gigabit LAN, but I didn't even think a mobo would even matter here as it's a WiFi connection. We disabled his firewall already, and that boosted the speed, but only by about 2-5 mbps. I can provide any additional information as needed. Before anyone asks, yes the drivers are up to date, and I have uninstalled them and re-installed them several times at this point. We have also tried resetting our internet connection several times.

So I was updating the drivers on my 5700 XT and my pc crashed during the process and now I'm unable to do anything on it, I'm not exactly sure how to approach this. If anyone could help me with this, it would be greatly appreciated. OS: Windows 10 64 bit CPU: Ryzen 5 3600 GPU: XFX RX 5700 XT Motherboard: Aorus Elite b450 RAM: G Series Ripjaws V Series 16GB
