Hey guys, Im sorry for bothering you but I need some help. I found nothing on the internet like this, so here is my problem: I got the 3ghz corsair dominator platinum modules in my x99 system (32GB 4x8), and I bought them for a couple of reasons. 1. Looking dope 2. Want a black/silver cooler theme 3. White LED but they are lighting red, aren't they supposed to light white? I tried everything I know, connect to corsair link etc. but I don't get a solution nor I'm getting a bit smarter about this topic... I hope u guys can help me and I'm sorry for my English.

Hey everyone. I was wondering, if ram speed doesn't make an impact on performance, then why do people buy premium ram such as dominator platinum sticks? What is the benefit? Is it just because they look cool? I am ok with buying things for aesthetic purposes, I just don't get why there are so many different styles if performance doesn't seem to matter.

Found 16gb of dominator platinum (3000mhz) for about 150 pounds on amazon and was wondering if it's worth it over regular corsair LP vengeance at same frequency as this is the cheapest iv seen it. Any thoughts are welcome thanks !

Greetings, Wondering if I put ROG Dominator Platinum Ram on a non ROG motherboard, will it effect anything? Probably won't but just wondering. Hello, So I built this PC as soon as the Rampage VI Extreme & i9 7980XE was released nearly 2 years ago and I've had issues with it since the very start, so for the sake of pinpointing the cause I will start from the beginning if there is any other information/images needed just ask me and I'll try to provide stuff. With all the components brand new, I build the PC out of the case to make sure everything worked. It's safe to say it didn't, as soon as I booted up the system the PC would freeze before it reached BIOS or freeze whilst in BIOS. I did notice on the motherboard that a fan header pin was bent, so I took the motherboard back to the shop and got a new replacement, After putting everything back together I attempted to boot up the system with the new motherboard, again the same issue was occurring. It's at this point I updated the BIOS using the Asus BIOS update button on the back of the motherboard but the freezing continued, So I started diagnosing by taking out the second graphics card, then all the RAM sticks one by one. It's at this point that once all RAM had been removed from the right side of the motherboard, the PC would boot and stay functional long enough for me to change BIOS settings and install Windows 10 on the M.2 drive. Once completed I started testing each RAM stick in the first slot using MemTest86, each one had no errors, I then started placing each stick into its place one by one before testing again with MemTest. As soon as I place any stick of RAM into the right side of the motherboard, the PC would freeze again. Another BIOS update came out not long after, so I updated the BIOS once again and this time I could use all 4 pieces of RAM, Freezing would occur every so often throughout the day of use and only stopped once I set the XMP profile for the RAM. I did try to test my CPU too using intel's diagnostic tool, and the CPU failed in a memory-related area. So I RMA'd my RAM for a new set thinking this might have been the issue, but again didn't have any effect so it wasn't the RAM either. So now the PC was working, but it would run really slow compared to what I knew the performance should be, from boot it would take a full minute to get into windows. At this time I had the M.2 under the motherboard shroud, so I decided to move it into the DIMM 2 expansion slot but this had no effect on performance (Note in both cases the M.2 appeared nowhere in the BIOS apart from the boot order section). I don't really understand what the best settings within my BIOS would be for everything but after I've built multiple PCs for people that have lower specs than mine but the same M.2 why mine would be so slow. Now at this present time, it still takes a full minute to load my system from boot, I have recorded these Q-codes given during post which I had searched up on. And I don't get it, some of these codes are for errors which shouldn't even allow my PC to boot at all but once it's cycled through the coded I get into windows as normal, even though PC performance is still slower than what it should be and now things within windows are starting to fail for example; Which has stopped me being able to use the front panel USB ports. I also have issues like occasional freezes/crashed during gaming, the mouse turning off so I have to unplug and replug it in, the lights on my keyboard flicker every so often etc... I really don't know where the issue could be at this stage the only other place I can think of is the CPU now, if anyone experienced could help me find the fault and what the best BIOS settings for my system could be I would be very grateful! Just curious, on my asus board it seems all the grey tabbed slots want to be filled first which is 1 and 3 on 1 side and 2 and 4 on the other. This gives me 1 stick in a, b, c and d in the bios. For some reason I had previously thought in 8 slot systems with 4 sticks it was supposed to be 1 stick in a grey tabbed slot and one in a black tabbed on each side as the color showed a channel. But mine seems to want all grey until above 4. My question is do I have these in the right spot? I'm pretty sure as I had a stick in each of the 4 letters in the bios but I have seen weird setups before so I thought I would check. Thanks!

This is my first post. Please pardon my broken English. I recently upgraded to X99 platform and I bought generic Samsung DDR4 DIMMs to save some money. My system concept is Red and Black and those green PCBs look awful. So I decided to recycle my Dominator Platinum Heatsinks from my DDR3 system. <Disassembly> Disassemble heatsink cover with alan wrench. Use heatgun at low setting or hair dryer to heat up the heatsink. There are 2 types of heatsinks I encountered. Type 1 : Wiggle the protuding parts at top back and forth, and you can detach the top part. (If wiggling does not do the job, see Type 2 below.) After detaching the top part, pry open both sides gently. Heat the assembly between trys if the resistance is too high. Type 2 : Type 2 has different top piece. You have to pry open side parts first. Gently tug and heat as needed. After Side parts are detached, you can pull out top part. Now nude Dominator modules. <Transplanting heats onto new DIMM> After disassenbling heat sinks, put the heatpads on the heatsinks and apply little bit of thermal compound onto ram chips. (Not for better thermal conductivity. Heatpads have adhesive which makes positioning the heatsinks rather difficult, so thermal compound is used as some lubricant.) Put both heatsinks onto the new module. There are two screw holes you need to be ware of. (Samsung DDR4 DIMMs fit perfectly below the holes.) You can usually slide them around as long as you don't screw both heatsinks down. After positioning the heatsinks you can put 4 screws in. Finished. It would've been perfect if I used DIMMs with black PCB. Almost unnoticible beside a little bit of green showing... Don't waste any more money on fancy heatsinks. Instead put your old ones to use!!!

Am I going to notice any difference between these five sets of memory? I assume I won't, but I want to make sure. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Productcompare.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=100007611%2050001504%2050008476%2050011776%20600006156%20600006158%20600006157%20600006050%20600083963%20600006142%2050001459&IsNodeId=1&bop=And&CompareItemList=147|20-226-423^20-226-423-01%23%2C20-231-572^20-231-572-TS%2C20-233-306^20-233-306-TS%2C20-231-564^20-231-564-TS%2C20-226-686^20-226-686-TS&percm=20-226-423%3A%24%24%24%24%24%24%24%3B20-231-572%3A%24%24%24%24%24%24%24%3B20-233-306%3A%24%24%24%24%24%24%24%3B20-231-564%3A%24%24%24%24%24%24%24%3B20-226-686%3A%24%24%24%24%24%24%24 If there isn't any difference really, I will likely go with one of the Ripjaws so they'll match my blue and black build.

Hey guys. I want to build with a MSI MPower Max. It has a black and yellow colour sceme. What RAM should I buy? Avexir MPower looks best because of the matching colour sceme, but it is quite slow. What difference would it make and in what situations? Is it worth to spend more and have a worse look (imho) with Corsair Dominator Platinum? Avexir: 2x8GB CL10 (DDR3-1600) 120€ Corsair: 2x8GB CL10 (DDR3-2400) 220€

Dominator Platinum's Native Illumination wasn't as good as I would've liked. But after this upgrade it's fantastic ! Although, the finish on the Light Bars are something to be desired. It certainly doesn't look cheap but not as premium as the Original ! The upgrading process wasn't really complicated. Corsair kindly included additional screws & an allen key with the kit. Kit only has Arctic White & Cerulean Blue bars and I would've loved to see few more color options on the bars. But all that said & done, this was worth every penny

After installing my new dominator memory In to my pc which I must say look amazing I booted up in to the Bios and tried to load up my XMP 1.3 profile to get my memory to run at its full 2133Mhz speed. But all that happens after I restart my PC is it keeps turning it's self on and off again either it will end up coming up with a memory problem in the debug code or just turn on and off till it resets the last change I made in the Bios. Is the problem being caused by faulty memory or something else. Please reply quick as if I can't fix the problem ill get an refund/ exchange. My system specs are: Asrock Extreme 9 i7 3820 Gtx 780 Corsair CMD16X3M4 Corsair CMD16GX3M4A2133C9 Dominator Platinum 16GB (4x4GB) DDR3 2133 MhzThanks

Ok So im planning to build a computer and set to order in my parts but now im stuck on RAM, i am planning to use Asus Rampage IV Black Edition motherboard with intel i7 4930k; i want to use 32 gigs of corsair dominator platinum quad channel (at, atleast 1800mhz) but some are saying they are incompatible with x79 boards (or mine in general) and some apparently use it. i would like to use dominator platinum mostly for the look of it but can anyone shed some light on this, can i use them? if so can you link a page or product number; but if its incompatible could you reccomend a good 32gig 1800(+) quad channel RAM i could use? Cheers!

Hello! I am still undecided about what memory to get for my ASUS ROG MAximus VI Extreme. I know that i want 32 GB from Corsair, the Dominator Platinum series. I saw Linus running the 2400MHz in his video(s).. so i know that the CMD32GX3M4A2400C10 works. What i would like to know is if the 2133MHz - CMD32GX3M4A2133C9 works with the M6E also, because i would preffer this one. Also, wich one would you choose, and why? Or what other 32GB memory kit for the M6E would you choose, and why?
