I am trying to create a shared folder and connect the above printer to save scans over the network. It's on a domain and the printer is wireless The folder is shared on the network and accessible but when I add the network path, Username, and password of the computer that the shared folder is on it gives me an error. I've tried the syntax just about every way you can imagine and I get the same error My question is, what am I doing wrong here? does my syntax need to be different? or is there another step I am missing

I, like many others, have received an email from Google Domains advising the transition to Squarespace will no longer support DDNS and to find an alternative before the transition. I'm still a bit new to self hosting stuff, so not sure what my best options are? Is it better to get a 3rd party DDNS to work on Squarespace or migrating to another domain provider that has DDNS? Currently I have my ASUS AX86U router doing the DDNS, but it only seems to support very limited DDNS providers. (image) Some of the sites I've looked up so far don't have a free tier with DDNS that I can use my existing domain on. Currently I use the DDNS to externally log into things on my network, like the router, SFTP on the NAS, Plex and other useful pages hosted from the NAS. As I said, I'm still learning all this web domain and name server stuff, so any tips/tricks for this would be appreciated. I have been looking up stuff via networkchuck and similar, but they all seem to be running things like this on Raspberry pi's or Linux servers. So I'm not sure how to translate that on the setup I currently have.

I have a .ml domain as my email address (the same tld that leaking military email lol) as I noticed that my email is no longer receiving any email and any attempt get bounced back Looking into it, all the DNS record is empty and any attempt to changes anything on freenom portal fails And according to nic.ml, they are currently in transition of the registry Here's people talking about this on reddit, and apparently .ga is also gone as well So yeah if anyone is using these tld and you can't access it anymore, that's why. Now if you excuse me I need to migrate all my account to a new address somehow...

Hello, I’m new to this forum so bare with me… I’m currently on the hunt for a port forwarding software that allows me to use a domain I purchased on GoDaddy. This is for a Minecraft server for about 6 people. Currently, I’m using the free version of ngrok, which doesn’t support the custom domain name, but it works, most of the time. For some reason, my router has Port Forwarding enabled when I access it using the default gateway, but doesn’t seem to work when I use my server IPv4 address. On GoDaddy, I’m also having some issues with connecting the domain to my server PC, even with the SRV record and A record added. I’m also curious about how Linus and/or Jake were able to get their Minecraft server running, although I’m only running Spigot/Bukkit, as I think they were using BungeeCord at the time. This is basically what I’m dealing with at the moment, connection and latency is perfectly fine (~80ms), and I’m happy to answer any questions related to this topic that might help me. Im a bit of a cheapskate, so a free software would be ideal for me.

hi i start with saying that i'm not expert in this kind of things. i would set up a SRV record in my domain DNS setting but it keep saying that the zone is not correct and can't be saved, here's what i wrote: _minecraft._tcp.rgl...it. 900 IN SRV 0 5 25565 minecraft.rg...it. i'm also going to attach a photo if can help

I'd like to have a second mail but without loosing my current one. I have a stupid email name and i want to change it but its already into many web and non web platforms(legal contracts that mails are being kept on sheets of paper OH MY GOD), so i have to keep it either i like it or not. So i would like to have an other mail name and have both the new and the old one on my mail feed without changing emails every time i want to check my mailfeed. So i would like to have my 2 mails being diplayed at the same feed at the same time when i open gmail for example. Any ideas? Thanks for your time.

Hello guys, I am a novice computer science student and have basic knowledge on HTML, and JavaScript. I want to buy a domain (let's say the domain name is pqr.com, probably from Google Domains). Now I have a basic idea on how I want to structure it and what use case it has for now but I could use your help in figuring out how exactly to implement it. (I want to do it myself instead of paying someone to do it for me) So I have a brother i will be sharing this domain with and my idea is that when I type a1.pqr.com it opens the webpage landing page of mine and a1.pqr.com/mail opens up my email. Similarly a2.pqr.com opens by brothers webpage landing page and a2.pqr.com/mail opens his email. So how do I do it? Is it buying one domain (pqr.com) or two domains (a1.pqr.com and a2.pqr.com)? Also I want to get email handles for both me and my brother from this domain (as in a1@pqr.com and a2@pqr.com) -
So I've gone down this 3 hour rabbit hole and now at my wits end. So let me start at the beginning... I decided I wanted to set up a vpn, I created a nord account. Then I set off to get it working on my PC, I saw that you can make your router run off of the vpn-- so that became my plan. "can not resolve host name" well asus says it's free and maybe I need to brute force the host name. *20 purposeful tries and another 30 random bs, still nothing. Ok I'll use google and buy a domain of them, easy. After spending the $12 I think I can now use sites.google.com to host my website that I made for shits and giggles. Nope... Ok I'll try google cloud, *set up 90 day free trial* ok now I can do the website thing? No... now I have to figure out which service and how to do such, some of them need to go to a different website and create an account there. "Ok maybe I'll try AWS" oh... I have no idea what I'm doing. Anyway, wanted to share. Now I'm down 40 dollars and all I have to show for it is a special email YAY! a good use of time. now time for me to figure out how to do the vpn thing normal.

I recently bought several servers from a civil engineering firm upgrading their systems (3x Poweredge R510s), but it looks like they didn't reset them before getting rid of them. Meaning, when I boot them up, I still see the domain account login, which I have no password for. I plan on wiping the servers, but if possible I'd first like to recover the Server 2019 product key, and I'm not sure if there's any way to do that without logging in. I've tried several things, all to no avail. Any advice appreciated.

Hi, I have a challenge... I have server with 64 cores and I bought Windows Server 2019 Essentials (WSE) to save money, because Standard Server license charge per core count, crazy money. I set the WSE server as File Serve so there is no reason why there should be limitation on user count, but because the server is connected to Domain it get the user list from DC and now I am exceeding 50 user limit. I am thinking to remove WSE server from domain and maybe that way solve the problem, I just don't know what will happen when I remove it from domain, because the regular PC when it get removed from domain, you can't access that user on that PC, can that happen on WSE server? Hi, I dont know should I grow my site more, or to sell my domain. I m 17 year old, and dont have any income, so paying plan on GoDaddy is a bit challenging for me because If I dont success I will be down good. So 1 day GoDaddy showed me that my domain costs something about 1342$ (There is photo). I m wondering If I can sell it for somewhere that price or what, someone say GoDaddy show less then real value is, and someone say that my domain dont cost more then 20$. My site is Blog, where I post articles about for example "Best macbook 2022" and there are links for amazon affilate. Also I paid Meta Ads, had reach about 3k and 11 Link clicks, 0 of them clicked and bought on my site. I think yesterday I got email from google first for search console, then for google AdSense. From Search Console Team I got like from 1.07.2022 my site is showing on google search, but I cant find it searching up to 10 pages, and in it says average position is 10,7. Hi guys! So, I m having problem with launching my site. I made webiste, on wix, trough their website builder. And thought I only need to connect domain to it work, didnt know that i need to pay plan for connecting domain. I bought domain on "GoDaddy" and then realised it cant be connected to wix. I m teenager and I aint in money, but want to launch my site. Then I i started to create site on goddady, and again there is plan thats need to be payed. I m a little bit in html, but its too bad, so im looking for something like wix, and other stuff where is nearly "drag&drop". All I want is to launch blog, or something like where I will post something and people can read it in educational meaning. So I have domain, but dont have site. Searching for website builder that need only domain to be ran, if that is possible. Thanks to all that help

Where I host a server instead of people connecting to my server with my public ip, instead I would want to have people connect to it with a domain name. But the thing is that, websites have offers for you to pay to have them host a domain name for you. But what I want to know is how do these company's host their own domain names on their own? -

Alright guys. Here's what's going on. I set up a Windows Active Directory environment to handle all the machines in my home. I have about 20 machines so authenticating against a Domain Controller is preferable to separate credentials on each machine. Neither here nor there, that functionality works fine! But my GPOs do not propagate through the network. I suspect this is because of DNS. I don't know how to set my pfsense router to direct all DNS requests to the DC, and I am fairly certain my DC isn't setup to handle DNS properly. I have too manually direct the NICs of the machines to the DC in order to join the domain. I would like it if it would work without manual configuration. I don't even know what info to post to help diagnose the issue, but any help would be appreciated! Hopefully we can get this figured out so I can rejoin my wife's devices to the domain. (She was frustrated that group policies blocked her Windows Hello sign in.) If I can get this working and GPOs would work I would be a very happy man! Thanks in Advance!

I am taking classes at a local university and for my next assignment i need to get a antivirus and install it on a domain controller and then have it send updates to clients on that domain. Which one would you guys recommend? -
Hi We have a Windows 10 laptop which is 90% of the time used in the office and is joined in the domain. The problem is, if I connect to a different network, and after some time reconnect to the office network, the laptop won't connect to the domain and I have to reboot it before it'll connect. Some more information: Router 192.168.2.1 Dhcp settings: gateway 192.168.2.1 dns 8.8.8.8/8.8.4.4 Server: 192.168.2.2 The dns of every machine is set static to the server. EXCEPT the laptop, I used DNS suffixes but I think it doesn't work correctly... I just had the issue that the laptop just wouldn't find the domain network even if I rebooted. So I set a static DNS to the server and then rebooted. After that it worked. My question is: Is something setup wrong? Or do I always need to reboot the machine if I want to connect to domain? Or am I a complete idiot...? Any help is very much appreciated! (Sorry for my terrible English, I'm tired and English isn't my native language...)

Hi everyone, I initially created my business email through Outlook and my Microsoft Office free trial. Then, since Zoho.com provides free business email hosting, I pointed my domain to the new Zoho business email instead. Now, how do I switch the same email used in Outlook to point to the Zoho mail server instead of the Microsoft exchange server? For example, my Zoho business email is xxx@xxx.com. The email is listed in Outlook as xxx@xxx.com, but it's still pointed to Microsoft Exchange server instead of the Zoho mail server. Thanks for any help. -
I just got hired in a company working as their It-supporter. Previously I primarily worked with level 2 support, and I have never really worked in debt with servers. But I am a quick learner and i am sure I will be able to work this out, but I do need some sort of advice because I haven't really heard about this particular problem before.. So.. The company I am working for (I'll call them Alpha), recently bought a part of another company (I'll call them Beta).. My company - Alpha overtook computers, furniture, servers and so on.. But... The domain, the server provides is owned by Beta. Every user at work still uses their credentials connected to Betas domain. The server computer is also connected to Beta's domain - therefore Beta won't give me any passwords for the server computer. Today Beta chose to shutdown our connection to their domain. Resulting in every employee being unable to login to their computer. I think that my only solution is to buy a new server and begin from scratch, creating a new domain controller, a new AD and new file server etc.. But I need some advice.. Thx

So I got a domain from godaddy, I got it in 2010, and I haven't really used it up until now. Which is a waste of my $100/year. So I figured, why not just sell it? I don't know what to do, though. I found out GoDaddy has a domain auction or something like that, but you have to pay a subscription for like $10 a month, what?! I don't wanna subscribe, I wanna get rid of it so I don't have to pay, why are you making me pay? LOL... Not mad or anything BTW. I don't even know how to transfer domain so if there's anyone out there who have done this kind of stuff before, kindly help a fellow linustechtipers here? Any suggestion will be appreciated. Hello, I am looking for a service that provides hosting for a custom domain on the cheap end. (under $3/month) I have decided to go with Domian.com for a registrar unless someone has a better suggestion. I have not yet purchased the domain, so it's not currently a time issue. If at all possible, I would like to have an SSL/HTTPS certificate on the site to get the green lock (secured). Thanks in advance to anyone that helps!

Hi everyone! I work in a larger enterprise IT environment. We have Win 10 pro on almost all machines. It keeps changing the default printer on many of the users. For me, it always changes it to this architectural plotter on our network. For my boss, it always defaults to AdobePDF. We have turned off the 'Let windows manage my default printer' in the windows setting. Matter of fact, we have disabled that for all users, through a registry edit GPO. The registry entry we changed is: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows\LegacyDefaultPrinterMode Any other ideas on what could be causing this? I have been looking into it for a while now, and seem to have exhausted the Internets knowledge. Thanks in advance!
