I am building a gaming PC for my friend and need the best build for gaming at $1500 dollars. This is what I have cooked up so far but I feel like this is overkill GPU wise since he is going to be playing on a 1080p 144hz monitor. Thoughts? I feel like I should get him a 1070 instead of 1080ti and invest the money on a better ssd, psu, cpu, or mobo. idk honestly you guys let me know [PCPartPicker part list](https://pcpartpicker.com/list/LCyqtJ) / [Price breakdown by merchant](https://pcpartpicker.com/list/LCyqtJ/by_merchant/) Type|Item|Price :----|:----|:---- **CPU** | [AMD - Ryzen 5 1600 3.2GHz 6-Core Processor](https://pcpartpicker.com/product/mV98TW/amd-ryzen-5-1600-32ghz-6-core-processor-yd1600bbaebox) | $209.99 @ Amazon **Motherboard** | [MSI - B350 TOMAHAWK ATX AM4 Motherboard](https://pcpartpicker.com/product/Y4kwrH/msi-b350-tomahawk-atx-am4-motherboard-b350-tomahawk) | $99.99 @ Amazon **Memory** | [Corsair - Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3000 Memory](https://pcpartpicker.com/product/MYH48d/corsair-memory-cmk16gx4m2b3000c15) | $151.99 @ Amazon **Storage** | [Western Digital - Blue 250GB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive](https://pcpartpicker.com/product/smBrxr/western-digital-blue-250gb-m2-2280-solid-state-drive-wds250g1b0b) | $89.99 @ Amazon **Storage** | [Western Digital - Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive](https://pcpartpicker.com/product/MwW9TW/western-digital-internal-hard-drive-wd10ezex) | $49.99 @ Amazon **Video Card** | [Zotac - GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 11GB AMP Edition Video Card](https://pcpartpicker.com/product/dHFXsY/zotac-geforce-gtx-1080-ti-11gb-amp-edition-video-card-zt-p10810d-10p) | $739.99 @ Amazon **Case** | [Phanteks - Enthoo Pro M Tempered Glass ATX Mid Tower Case](https://pcpartpicker.com/product/2mQRsY/phanteks-enthoo-pro-m-tempered-glass-atx-mid-tower-case-ph-es515ptg_bk) |- **Power Supply** | [Corsair - CSM 550W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply](https://pcpartpicker.com/product/DbqdnQ/corsair-power-supply-cs550m) | $59.99 @ Amazon | *Prices include shipping, taxes, rebates, and discounts* | | **Total** | **$1401.93** | Generated by [PCPartPicker](http://pcpartpicker.com) 2017-09-10 00:12 EDT-0400 | Thanks.

So, because my current GPU (an original (release) R9 380 4GB) has a broken fan I'm planning on buying a new GPU the problem is that because I'm only 14 - 16 I don't really have that much money I'm gonna try to get save up some money so that at the beginning of 2019 I should have around 600 CAD / 455 USD / 400 EUR now my question is which GPU would be best suited to my PC and budget because most people will need this information: my PC is a "Pandora - Turbo CD 3500+" here's the spec sheet (also the GPU schould be easy to install becuase i never installed a GPU before) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ CPU: Ryzen 5 1500x @ 3,65 GHz RAM: 16 - 64 GB DDR4 @ 2133 Mhz (SODIMM) GPU: R9 380 (4GB) @ 980 Mhz / 1337 Mhz HDD: 3TB @ 15.000 RPM SSD: 256 GB @ 3 G/bit ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Hi, I love linustechtips and watch your videos on a daily basis. Often re watching build logs and challenges multiple times! Great job! I'd like to discuss something else though. We've all heard of the $200 dollar graphics card, the RX 480. That really is a fantastic price for the performance you get. However, I live in the UK. The cheapest RX 480 card is actually £195, if you do a quick 195 GBP to USD conversion on google it will come up with $250+ bucks. India area reportedly paying $450 bucks and poland are having cards shipped over there at inflated prices too. This seems rather horribly unfair to charge 1/4 more, and in the india case more than twice the amount, just because we're not americans. I'm wondering of Linus or anyone else here can shed light onto why the $200 dollar card, isn't really $200 when it comes to the UK, and other countries. It can't all be about shipping surely! P.S. the 195 figure I quoted is tax free, so that's not being included.

Hey everyone, I got some spare money, I listen a lot to music and I still use my Kingston HyperX Cloud for it. I can I can step it up a bit with 150 dollars. I listen to a lot of different genres. One night I'm making weird face expressions listening to Bon Jovi and the other night I can't stop moving my legs because of all the hardstyle I listen to. Do you guys have a good recommendation for a nice pair of headphones. I live in The Netherlands btw, so prices can be a bit off. But American suggestions are okay. I will look into it wheter they are available or not. Thanks in advance!

Hey guys, This forum has been quite helpfull for an unexperienced buyer like me. I cant seem to find a keyboard with the features i want partially because i am unsure of which search term to use and also that i maybe have something to specific in mind. Maybe my dream keyboard doesent even exist. I woud like: - Cherry MX Greens - An EU Layout - A numpad - Backlight -Up to 150€ - 170$ - 120 GBP I realize these kind of requests can be kinda annoying to forum regulars but i have to decide quite soon whether i want to send my current keyboard back and i just cant find waht im looking for. Thank you guys in advance Greeting, Xhaku

What do you think about it? http://pcpartpicker.com/p/k9gbMp The budget is around 800€. Keep in mind im in Europe so the prices are messed up (that 700$ becomes a 830€ at the moment on Amazon). Feel free to correct it, comment and so on. PS: First build. Let me know if everything is compatible. I don't wanna trust too much the pcpartpicker auto-compatible-thingy. THANKYAW.

Steam has this 5 dollar "rule" that makes it so that an account isn't "complete" or verified untill you use (or waste) 5 dollar or euros on Steam. So I have have two questions... Does it count if I buy a game that costs 4,99? And also if its supposably 5 dollars (USD) in euros is it less??

I am trying to make a rig to hook up to my 1080p tv. I want to be able to play Just Cause 2 and Gta V. Not sure if I should go for the 280 but I personally like the 960. Tell me what you think. I can't ind anything to cut back on. I opted for 6 dollar more memory because of it's 2133 speed and 5 bucks for a "better" hdd. Let me know thanks. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/n9xcvK

If you think you're going to do some deep searching for current bugs, and exploit those, think again. The firm has also created a set of requirements for the researches submitting their efforts whom have till 6:00 p.m. EDT, 31 October, 2015. Once there has been three submissions, and the $3 million acquired, the programme will be terminated: Source: http://www.ibtimes.co.in/ios-9-jailbreak-bounty-3-million-reward-new-software-exploits-apple-iphones-ipads-647543 Source (2): https://www.zerodium.com/ios9.html -

http://de.pcpartpicker.com/p/6FnJP6 Any unreliable parts I should throw away? What do you guys think? This will be used for heavy gaming at 1080p 60fps with the most demanding games EDIT: Adding a 970 and 200R in a month, when I'll actually build it.

Hi, I am planning on building a ~ 1100 dollar (~ 1000 euros) Gaming PC. I already have a 1080p monitor along with all the peripherals needed. I live in France, topachat.com is the site trough which I would like to get my parts. Here's a vague idea of the setup: CPU: Intel Core i5 (one that would not bottleneck the graphics card) Motherboard: The cheapest 2-way SLI capable motherboard (for upgradability) (if not possible a bare bones motherboard with basic functionality) Memory: Any DDR3, 2 x 4 Go kit Graphics card: GTX 970 (I am unsure which version to buy) SSD : Highest Gb/dollar SSDWifi card Case : Cheapest bare bones case (featuring dust filters and basic cable management...) Power supply : ~ 650W (for upgradability) Here's a config that could do the job : http://www.topachat.com/pages/configomatic.php?c=m4a9OIB5Q%2BJTAfQMfiOLC89OWzMEvr3Nb6acWXxgtJs%3D CPU : Intel Core i5-4590 (3.3 GHz) Motherboard : MSI Z97S SLI Krait Edition Memory : DDR3 Crucial Ballistix Sport, 2 x 4 Go, 1600 MHz, CAS 9 Graphics card : Gainward GeForce GTX 970 Phantom, 4 Go SSD : Kingston Now V300, 120 Go, SATA III Wifi card : TP-Link TL-WN881ND Case : Zalman Z1 (I am unsure about this case) Power supply : Cooler Master G650M, 650W What do you think of this setup ? Is the Zalman Z1 a good enough case ? Which version of the GTX 970 should I buy ?

Hello! I have taken some time to plan out my gaming build. My current PC is only for office and home use. I do intend to use this (to be) build for Video editing as i am involved in content creation and my current just isn't enough. Some games I intend to play (in priority order) : Minecraft (Im aware this game is more CPU intensive, but some graphics power is required), Microsoft Simulator Series, Wargame, Dirt 3, FPS games aren't so high up on my list. For my setup, I plan on setting up two monitors (Asus VS239h-p - Due to my budget) , Also For peripherals: Keyboard- Logitech g510s , Mouse- Logitech g602 , Headphones - Plantronics Rig , Speakers- Logitech Z506 Please have a look at my list of parts, and tell me whether that extra $$$ contributes to performance, where i can cut down. Most (ALL) of my parts will be purchased from Amazon.com , I have heard about Amazon not handling hard-drives properly. I live in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Please do help me in making my decision for these parts. PC Part List: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/BlazeMike/saved/3YFc Thank You, Blaze

Okay so im still not sure what processor to by for my 1155 socket mobo, i was thinking either xeon or i5 like the title states but i wasnt sure which. i know that ghz dont matter but i wasnt sure if hyper threading would help with preformance, because i know many games dont take advantage of like quad or six core cpus. my theory is that the more hyper threading the quicker it is. the ghz is the same of the xeon i was looking at compared to the i5 i was going to buy which was a 3570k. i know that xeon doesnt have on board graphics like the i5 does but that is why i was going to buy a 660ti any way. But looking for some thoughts, ideas, or suggestions thank you :)

Hey, so I'm looking for a case that can suit all my needs for my first build. These include: -Reasonably long GPU support (300mm or more) -Water-cooling not necessary -Windowed if possible -Easy to build (since I'm a newbie to this :D ) -Solid build quality -$100 OR LESS -Available in Australia I've looked at the CoolerMaster Storm Scout II, or the Corsair Carbide 200R/300R, but I haven't really settled on a choice and I would like some recommendations. Thanks!

I have been looking for speakers for a little bit now but haven't been able to make a sure decision. I'm leaning toward getting a pair of AudioEngine A2+'s and forgoing a subwoofer, but I have also heard that getting a nice pair of bookshelf speakers and a lepai amp could be the better bang for buck option. I'm basically asking for a ~250 dollar audio set up that is good with some bass (don't need a tonne but would still like a fairly decent amount as I usually listen to elictronika and classical). I would prefer it be 250 dollars with shipping but I can finagle with my funds; thank you. Edit: I decided on the M Audio BX5 D2's. Thank you all for your recommendations.

Title pretty much says it - I have a $25 Best Buy gift card that I can use and I don't know what to buy, got any suggestions? Note: Please use Bestbuy.CA, since I'm in Canada =3 Must account for taxes and shipping! The only good thing I see is an NZXT lighting kit for my future build.
