Hi guys, I just saw spatial audio option in Sony headphones connect app for my XM5s. I turned it on but don't know how to use it. I'm using Nothing Phone 2 and didn't saw any spatial Audio option in the settings. I tried Spotify, Apple Music, YT, and poweramp but no luck. Is it even possible to experience head tracking using NP2 or windows?

In certain games, enabling both HDR and Dolby Atmos together results in no audio, and persists until reboot. I've only noticed this in The Crew: Motorfest and Remnant II, most other games work fine (i.e. Forza Horizon 5). Disabling HDR or Dolby Atmos prevents this from happening. I also have occasional short audio dropout in all games, but this seems to be a known issue with Nvidia GPUs. Useful specs: - GPU: RTX 3080, latest drivers - Display (TV): Samsung S95C @4K 144Hz 10bit HDR (Lowering the refresh rate to reduce bandwidth doesn't help) - Audio: Samsung Q930C (HDMI eARC soundbar + wireless sub + 2 satellite speakers) My PC is connected to the TV via an HDMI 2.1 cable, and the soundbar is connected to the TV via HDMI eARC. Any help would be appreciated!

Recently I bought PANASONIC SC-PMX92EG. The sound was clear but only the top and bottom could be heard, there were no mid frequencies, which I missed. The only thing this tower had good was the BASS. Didn't even need a SUBWOOFER. In the reviews, people wrote good sound good BASS, for most people good sound is just BASS and nothing more. And that's why the manufacturer focused mainly on it. I have some old Universe and Philips MZ-7 towers, the sound was very good, you could adjust it as you like. I noticed that the older the tower, the better the sound. The sound from the modern speakers is different, I'm not saying it's not good but it's just different, so clean but I like the sound of the old towers better. Maybe it's not about the speakers themselves, but about the amplifiers that used to be made. So I think now that in order to have good sound you have to buy good speakers and a receiver for it, it all costs a lot or just buy a used DOLBY system which is very cheap. And the old tower had Dolby Surround 5.1 technology which is over 40 years old and it's analog sound maybe that was the thing that this tower had analog sound and later versions of DOLBY were already with digital sound. Write something interesting, I'm interested in your opinion.

Can I get dolby atmos without signing into windows? I've done it before in my previous build. Not sure how I got passed it before. I'm on local account as I never have I ever signed into Microsoft on my PCs. Is there another way? If it matters on windows 11. Is there somehow I can keep it local account? I bought the License long ago.

Greeting from Japan. We recently moved into a new home and our living room has a pre-built home theatre system (left behind by the previous owner, ours to keep). There are 5 ceiling mounted speakers and 1 subwoofer. The model of the ceiling mounted speaker is JBL SP6CII and the subwoofer is JBL STAGE A100P. We don't own any sound systems. Our main purpose for this area is to lounge and watch Netflix and play video games. We have a PS5 and an Xbox series X. Our TV is a 2017 34 inch Sony Bravia that supports 4K (no HDMI 2.1) and we will upgrade to a 55 inch TV later (not sure if we will wall-mount). I have no prior experience setting up a home theatre or managing one. So based on research I learned that I may need two more additional front-facing speakers or a sound bar, I should set some of the ceiling mounted speakers as atoms speakers, and I must buy an AV receiver powerful enough to support all speakers. Things I couldn't figure out are 1) Which model/brand of AV receiver to buy for this set-up? i.e. what technical details I should pay attention to; budget is $500~$900 (e.g. Denon AVR-S750H or Denon AVR-X2700H), 2) Does the position of the TV and the couch matter? (couch is big, Width 204 x Depth 100 x Height 90cm), and 3) Should I keep it as a 5.1 set up or upgrade to 7.1? My notes on a Notion page. Based on the current layout I will definitely need an AV receiver that can automatically correct audio. I have attached a sketch of the room layout. Its an open plan, there are no walls in between. Your suggestions, recommendations, and comments (including critique) is much appreciated. Thank you for reading my help request!

I've recently bought my first 4k tv, an LG C1, awesome tv, but i've noticed that the audio is not good enough (i have to constantly turn the volume to 70-80% and even then the voices are low in comparison), so i am looking at either a soundbar or bookshelf speakers, my 2 main options at the moment are: VIZIO M-Series 5.1 M51ax-J6 Edifier S1000MKII Honestly i don't have too much experience so i would like to read your comments, which one is the best, do i need for example an amplifier to connect the speakers to the TV?, other options. Will the 5.1 setup on the vizio be much better than the 2.1 on the bookshelf speakers?. Are the dolby atmos, dtx, eARC specifications on the soundbar actually worth it ? I've tried researching about this topic and it looks that soundbars are easier to setup but worse in performance than the speakers, but on the other hand, i have absolutely no idea how amplifiers work or how i should decide one or even IF i need one. It will mainly be used for movies, series, youtube videos and podcasts

Hi, so I am looking for a sound bar for my tv at a price of around £300. Whilst I have been looking at sound bars I have seen some that offer Dolby Atmos and some that don’t. Now I am very confused at the moment as to wether I need the sound bar to be Dolby Atmos compatible. If someone could let me know that would be amazing. Also if anyone does have suggestions for sound bars under £300 also let me know. I am currently looking at the JBL Bar 5.1 Surround if anyone knows if that is good or bad. It doesn’t support Dolby Atmos hence my question on here. Also I’m not sure if this is useful information but this LG tv is in my kitchen/lounging room so is in a large open plan room. Thanks

Hello there everyone, I am fairly new to setting up a home theatre system, my expertise are definitely not in the audio department. I am been using the stock speakers on my TV (Sharp GB254WJSA) and I am using the Mi Box S 4K for all my streaming needs (mostly Netflix & Disney +). As stated in the mi box's website, it supports Dolby audio (Dolby digital (DD), DD plus, DTS) and not Dolby Atmos. I am planning on getting any reasonably priced (please recommend) Samsung sound bar (with sub woofer) that supports Dolby Atmos. Will a Dolby Atmos supported sound bar be able to play the full array of the DD plus format? Why am I getting the Dolby Atmos supported device? I am looking to upgrade to the Nvidia Shield TV Pro in the future (supports Atmos). Also, with the limited amount of ports available on the mi box, I am not sure how to get it to connected to the soundbar. Do I have setup as mi box > passthrough > TV > speakers or mi box > audio > speakers & > picture > TV. I am not sure whether my TV has a HDMI arc to allow passthrough or do I have to get a receiver to do this. So basically the gist of it is; 1. How do I setup DD plus from my mi box and connect it to the speakers and get surround sound? 2. Do you have any product recommendation? Your help is much appreciated, thank you in advance.

I have 9 year old Sony 3D Bluray player. When I try to play downloaded ATMOS contents, it displays "Audio Format not Supported" and hangs. It can play ATMOS audio directly from a Bluray disc and from the files copied untouched from the disc, without any " not supported" message. Even when it displays "not supported" message for DD+ ATMOS, it manages to send the ATMOS signal to my Soundbar. Is there any workaround for my Bluray player to play ATMOS from downloaded or converted files without getting struck?

I'm on PC. I have setup the Dolby Acess App. I know for stereo content if you have the button ON, it upscale it artificially to surround sound but I want to know should I have the Dolby button ON or OFF when watching content that natively support Dolby Atmos like let's say a movie on Netflix that supports Dolby Atmos through the Netflix app on windows 10? What about games that support Dolby Atmos like gears of war 4, Button on or off? Would any of this change if the content was playing from google Chrome?

I have the Dolby Access app, Windows 11, and have setup Dolby Atmos for Hometheater in the app along with checking the "Upmixer" option. For whatever reason, the Dolby Atmos height channels don't activate at all. I thought this was because Windows didn't support more than 8-channel audio, but if I play a video file with Dolby Atmos audio, it does use the height channels. I can tell if my heights are being used because my receiver shows me they're active. It doesn't show this in other apps though. When does Dolby Upmixer take effect in Windows? Does it only happen in supported apps?

dolby atmos Which games support Dolby Atmos for Home Theater?
Sawtaytoes posted a topic in PC Gaming
Does anyone know of any game in Windows that supports Dolby Atmos for Home Theater or height channels? If you look at the Dolby website, there are tons of games showing that support Dolby Atmos audio, but when I try those same games in Windows, I only get 8-channel PCM. It appears Dolby Atmos support is only available for Xbox, but I'm not sure. It's possibly Dolby Atmos or height channels can only be activated from UWP games on the Microsoft Store. I don't own any games on the Microsoft Store, so I have no way to verify. tl;dr Windows does not natively support height channels. If you output a Dolby Atmos signal directly, you will get dedicated height-channels, but that completely bypasses Windows (video player apps use this). Dolby Atmos has native support in Windows, but I've never seen it output height-channels. Read for more info. Dolby Atmos is 2 technologies There are two completely separate technologies called "Dolby Atmos": Dolby Atmos for Headphones (spatial audio for 2 channels) Dolby Atmos for Home Theater (spatial audio for many speakers) These are two completely different technologies that have nothing to do with each other. It's extremely confusing to know which is which when everyone just says "Dolby Atmos". The Dolby Atmos app for Windows enables "Dolby Atmos for Home Theater" for free, and you can unlock "Dolby Atmos for Headphones" by paying a fee. What is Dolby Atmos for Headphones? "Dolby Atmos for Headphones" is a similar technology to "Windows Sonic" and sounds awful on a dedicated home theater setup (I've tried). It's designed for binaural audio, something that's only possible with headphones because sounds in the right ear can't be heard from the left. With a home theater, both ears can hear all sounds from every channel. Windows Spatial Audio API Unless a game natively supports the Windows Spatial Audio API, such as Final Fantasy XV, it's probably not going to support Dolby Atmos for Home Theater. Just like with HDR, where you sometimes have to enable HDR in Windows before the game will notice you have an HDR-capable display, you have to also enable Spatial Audio before loading a game that supports it. I did try the demo for Final Fantasy XV, but Atmos heights were not active even after enabling the Spatial Audio setting. My receiver shows me which channels are active and the volume of each, but height channels didn't even show up. Windows is 8-channel PCM only Your height channels aren't available in Windows. The most you can do in Windows is 8-channel PCM audio: Front Center Surround (pointed 90 degrees from you) Surround Back (behind you) LFE (dedicated subwoofer) Pro Tip: It's best to enable every setting and check every box in Windows for whichever configuration you select and let your receiver or DAC do the work of splitting up the signal for your speakers; otherwise, you'll be missing out on audio you should be hearing. Activating height channels The only way I've found to activate height channels in Windows is by sending a Dolby Atmos signal directly to my receiver. To do this, I needed to be using HDMI out from my GPU and using a video player app with a video file that supported Dolby Atmos audio: Windows Movies & TV ➡ It "just works" with no special configuration. Media Player HomeCinema ➡ Required special configuration; otherwise, Windows would downmix to 8-channel PCM. VLC ➡ Required special configuration; otherwise, Windows would downmix to 8-channel PCM. The Dolby Atmos app doesn't need to be installed in this case. Can't remember if you need it for the Windows Movies & TV app though. Even if I configured 7.1 audio in Windows, if I played a video file that had Dolby Atmos audio, then it would switch to Dolby Atmos on my receiver. That also meant the audio volume would only be controlled by my receiver; not Windows. Pretty annoying.- 3 replies

Which one is better for Dolby Audio mixing, HDMI or SPDIF or CINCH. Can you recommend me a sound card because my Audigy doesn't want to output RAW channels straight to my amp and I think this is a problem with Windows because my Audigy Control Panel is set to 5.1 output but in windows it only shows 2.0 Audigy Control Panel is set to 5.1 on SPDIF out but Windows Control Panel allows only 2.0 I can play Dolby Digital content but DAWs (Ableton, FL Studio, ProTools) are not capable of outputting cooked Dolby Digital signal only RAW left, right, center, left surround, right surround and low frequency effects

How can I encode Dolby Atmos into MP4? I am using this command ffmpeg -i input.mp4 -i input.ec3 -map 0:v -map 1:a -c:v copy -c:a copy -disposition:a default -metadata:s:a:0 complexity_index=16 -metadata:s:a:0 title="Dolby Atmos" output_test.mp4 I have to provide every single piece of data that is inside this EC3 file. I have noticed that when I am running this command the MP4 file contains actual Dolby Atmos stream but it's missing complexity index. Raw EC3 file has Complexity Index set to 16 but after adding it to MP4 file the complexity index is not present and this MP4 is not identified as a video with proper Dolby Atmos stream, I mean it's saying that this is Dolby Atmos stream but it doesn't have any Dolby Atmos metadata. When I play raw EC3 I am getting immersive effect but when i put this file inside mp4 It automatically downmixes do 5.1 and I don't have side channels but it's still as Dolby Atmos. The DD+ JOC file was created from Dolby Atmos Master File using Dolby Media Encoder the mix was made in Nuendo 12 with Dolby Atmos Renderer (built-in) I thought that after using this command, complexity index will be added correctly. I don't want to use MKV but it looks like I will have to do that. I would love to try embedding atmos master file (ADM BWF) into this mp4 but I think this will not work

Did a random search and stumbled upon Cavern1, 2. Has anyone tried this? Hi, At the moment I have connected a Logitech 2.1 speaker system to my Panasonic LED TV using the TV's headphone jack. As you know from this set up I get 2 channel stereo output. I am planning to buy a 5.1 system like this one >>> Click here I watch TV in two ways. 1)Digital Cable. The set top box is connected to the TV using HDMI. My set top box has no support for Dolby audio. It only supports stereo. 2)USB flash drive. I copy downloaded videos to a USB flash drive then I plug in the flash drive to my TV's USB port. Most of the videos that I watch this way has 5.1 audio. If I purchase the speaker I mentioned above how do I connect it to my TV so that I get 5.1 audio ?

Hey everyone, i recently bought an LG OLED C9 55" and now i want to upgrade my sound setup to better match the TV. I never had any surround sound system and would like to try dolby atmos if the budget allows it. Right now im running an older Sony SS-EX50 stereo system, which is nice for listening to music but in movie dialogues the clarity is not that great and sometimes makes them hard to understand. My budget is around 500,- €. Of course i should be able to buy it in germany. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Hello everyone, im planning to buy the LG SL9YG soundbar for my LG C9 OLED. The only connectors on the soundbar are HDMI and optical. (Like with most soundbars) Can i connect the soundbar via HDMI out (TV) to HDMI in (soundbar) or does it only work when i pass the HDMI Signal through the soundbar to the TV. I have no idea how HDMI ARC actually works... As there is no receiver in my setup and i only want to connect the two. Optical cable isnt an Option, as it doesn't support Dolby Atmos or DTS:X from what i found out. The spec from the SL9YG says it only supports 4K 60Hz passthrough, so it would bottleneck the TVs 120Hz if i would use it? I'm completely lost here...

Hello all! I'm running a lenovo Y50-70 gaming laptop with the latest and "greatest" windows update, the creator update. anyways i use it as my home theater pc and for a while now i was using dolby digital live through an optical cable to my yamaha rx-373 receiver. well ever since the creators update, dolby digital live won't work. now i'm stuck with using neo: 6 cinema and running 2 channels on my laptop. they intruduced "dolby atmos for home theater" which i thought was pretty cool but now i can't even get it to work. i'll get the error below. keep in mind that i have everything plugged in correctly but can't manage to get it to apply when i select dolby atmos for home theater. i did get it to work originally before i encountered this error but could not get any audio playing out of my speakers. please help whoever ends up reading this. i really appreciate it!

Too keep things short; I bougth an LG TV that includes Dolby Atmos and next thing I will do is to buy a gaming console and I am atm comparing PS4 Pro and Xbox one X with eachother. My questions on this topic however is as follows: - Xbox One X supports Dolby Atmos as far as I know, but is that only if you have a TV that includes Dolby atoms? - Will my TV enable Dolby Atmos while gaming regardless if I am playing on PS4 Pro or Xbox One X? (in that case does the Dobly Atoms feature that Xbox have really matter in my case? Keeping in mind that my TV already includes Dolby Atmos) Tv I got is: LG 55'' SK8100PLA I hope these questions make sense and that I might find the answear I seek.

I have been thinking about buying a 7.1 home theater with dolby atmos and dts to watch movies, play video games and listen to music from my pc. I found this home theater and it looks great Onkyo THX Certified 7.1-Channel Surround Sound Speaker System Black (HT-S9800THX) seems to meet what I'm looking for and offers me interesting extras like airplay and chomecast. To activate the dolby atmos I have to change the configuration to 5.2.2 ch is fine for me. But well this is my question the home theater I will use it only on the pc and I was thinking how I should connect it to my pc to be able to use everything that the home theater offers me I would like to play the games in surround 5.1, 7.1, 5.2.2 that support dolby atmos, true hd, pro logic 2 etc. and of course also the movies. These are the specifications of my computer in case it helps them to solve my question easier Corsair Vengeance Led Red 16gb Ram 3200mhz AMD Ryzen 7 1700x Processor 960 Evo Samsung M.2 500GB SSD EVGA SuperNova GS 850 Watts Gigabyte AX370 Aorus Gaming K7 GTX 1080 ti aorus the monitor I use in displayport to be able to use gsync and to 144hz the sound of the motherboard Supports Creative® Sound Blaster X-Fi MB5 Double ALC 1220 on the front and 120dB SNR HD Audio with dual headphones with smart amplifier on the back So summarizing my question how I need to connect the home theater to the pc and take advantage of the surround of dolby atmos and dts in games and movies? Do you recommend buying a sound card to get the most out of it? and if so, which supports dolby atmos and 7.1, 5.2.2 channels? I've already searched for some sound cards like this one: Creative Sound BlasterX AE-5 Hi-Resolution PCIe Gaming Sound Card but I do not know if support it. what I mentioned what i should do ??? Excuse my English and extend the question in advance thank you very much.
