Hey everyone I've been thinking we should have a thread where we post pictures of our pets. I'll get us started off with some cute pics of my dogs.

Hello! Does anyone know anything about Dogs? A random stray dog wandered onto the property, It was lying in one corner or some hours and then moved to a different corner, I put a dish of water nearby and it walked over to drink some, Anyone have any advice? what household food might it like to eat?

Hi forum, I am not getting the performance I am expecting out of PC (Specs down below). I purchased Watch Dogs and Dragon Age: Inquisition and neither of them run smoothly. Upon further examination I realized that the activity level on my GPU ( Radeon HD 7970 Ghz) was only reaching 60%. Is this what would cause the issue, and if so how would I fix it? Specific Problems with each game: Watch Dogs: On lowest settings it only hits 50 fps, on ultra it hovers around 30 DAI: Hovers around 30 fps, about every 30 seconds or so it drops to 0 then jumps back up to 30 According to various benchmarking websites my GPU should be able to at least hit 45 fps on ultra. I am running on the latest AMD drivers. Any help with these various problems would be greatly appreciated.

Ubisoft’s Watch Dogs is the latest PC title to take advantage of Nvidia’s GameWorks, a robust collection of tools that allow game developers to produce a visual experience which epitomizes Nvidia’s rallying cry: “The Way It’s Meant To Be Played.” Developers license these proprietary Nvidia technologies like TXAA and ShadowWorks to deliver a wide range of realistic graphical enhancements to things like smoke, lighting, and textures. Nvidia engineers typically work closely with the developers on the best execution of their final code. Recent examples of Nvidia GameWorks titles include Batman: Arkham Origins, Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, and this week’s highly anticipated Watch Dogs. As you’re suspecting from the headline, Nvidia’s GameWorks is only good news for Nvidia, their development partners, and their GPU users. That’s logical, and it serves a sizable slice of the market. According to AMD’s Robert Hallock, it’s terrible news for the PC gaming ecosystem on the whole. “Gameworks represents a clear and present threat to gamers by deliberately crippling performance on AMD products (40% of the market) to widen the margin in favor of NVIDIA products,” Hallock told me in an email conversation over the weekend. But wait, it stands to reason that AMD would be miffed over a competitor having the edge when it comes to graphical fidelity and features, right? Hallock explains that the core problem is deeper: “Participation in the Gameworks program often precludes the developer from accepting AMD suggestions that would improve performance directly in the game code—the most desirable form of optimization.” So a partner studio like Ubisoft can suggest or write enhancements to the GameWorks libraries, but AMD isn’t allowed to see those changes or suggest their own. “The code obfuscation makes it difficult to perform our own after-the-fact driver optimizations, as the characteristics of the game are hidden behind many layers of circuitous and non-obvious routines,” Hallock continues. “This change coincides with NVIDIA’s decision to remove all public Direct3D code samples from their site in favor of a ‘contact us for licensing’ page. AMD does not engage in, support, or condone such activities.” I asked Robert Hallock about this specifically, and he explains that they had “very limited time with the title and [we've] been able to implement some respectable performance improvements thanks to the skill of our driver engineers. Careful performance analysis with a variety of internal tools have allowed us to profile this title, despite deliberate obfuscation attempts, to improve the experience for users.” AMD will release a new driver to the public this week which reflects those improvements. (It’s the same driver I conducted my testing with.) Unfortunately my conversation with Hallock didn’t end with a silver lining: “I am uncertain if we will be able to achieve additional gains due to the unfortunate practices of the Gameworks program,” he remarked. http://www.forbes.com/sites/jasonevangelho/2014/05/26/why-watch-dogs-is-bad-news-for-amd-users-and-potentially-the-entire-pc-gaming-ecosystem/

So I pre-ordered Watch_Dogs on Origin when it was on sale. Even though the game should have been released days ago, I still can't play the game I purchased. I've tried restarting Origin and reloading my games, is there anything else I should try before going to support and asking for a refund? I should have known better than to buy something on Origin.... Also notice that it says "Added to My Library May 24, 2014" I pre-ordered Watch_Dogs well before that so I don't know what's up with that either.

Hey guys, I've been hearing both a lot of positive and negative things about Watch Dogs. To those of you who have played it/are playing it, I'd like to hear if you've liked the game or not. Feel free to post in more detail why you love/hate the game, below. Also feel free to flame me to death if there has already been such a poll (will the search function here ever be fixed?).

Hello all, excited this morning, I hopped on my computer, and launched Watch Dogs to play. Then, on the cut scene in the beginning, I noticed there's absolutely no audio for the voices. I hear the music and such, but that's where it stops. Any help?

Hello all Watch Dogs players, I am the Elusive Fox, and I am here to begin recruitment for my new Faction "FoxSec". The lore behind our faction is that we were formed in Chicago shortly after DedSec started to become more known. We were created because we oppose DedSec and their philosophy of a non-connected world. We are essentially here to oppose DedSec in any way we can. When Watch Dogs finally comes out, we will dedicate ourselves to go against them in any way possible, there may be options in the campaign to choose not to help them, or to assault them in some ways. Our basic goal is to hurt them as much as possible. This is our objective. We of course know that we cannot actually defeat DedSec, as they are a part of Watch Dogs itself, and the developers would never agree to remove them, so this is more of a roleplay thing we are doing. Thanks for taking the time to read this, and ill see you guys in the group! -The Elusive Fox Some questions I know will be asked: Q: How am I able to join the group? A: I have created a steam group called "FoxSec" which is were we will all meet, talk, play together etc. It is a public group and anyone can join. Q: Are you guys a gang of furries? A: No. Q: How will I know who is in FoxSec and who isnt in-game? A: Im not sure how we will be able to recognize eachother, it depends how Ubisoft will develop the games multiplayer mode(s). Q: I cant buy the game right now, can I still join? A: Yes, while I do wish most of our members will have actually bought the game and are able to play it, anybody can join. Q: Can we know your identity? A: No, as part of the roleplay ill keep my identity hidden for now. Q: Why even bother making some stupid group, its just a game! A: Thats not really a question, but I made the group to make the game more fun. Q: Why am I still reading this? Chances are none of these questions even pertain to me... A: BECAUSE YOU WANT TO LEARN Q: How can earn a higher rank in FoxSec? A: Im not going to rank people yet, this group just started, and the game isnt even out yet, this is just a recruitment period. Q: I dont own Watch Dogs on steam, can I still participate somehow? A: Unfortunetly we will only be organizing ourselves on steam for now, if you bought the game on Uplay then I genuinely feel bad for you. Q: I bought the game online and got a code, how can I get it on steam? A: On the top left click "Games" and then "Activate a product on steam", then go through the process of activation, if it doesnt work, attempt to get a refund, or sell that code and get a new one for steam. Q: Are you a furry? A: No. Q: Is the Digital Deluxe version of Watch dogs worth the extra $10? A: Absouletly. You get a lot of extra content that will help you in game, and extra cosmetic items. Q: Is my computer good enough to play this game? What parts would you recommend? A: From the system requirements guide released, you need a moderate PC to play this game. To see the requirements, go here: http://www.ign.com/wikis/watch-dogs/PC_System_Requirements For parts I would suggest, I would recommend getting an Nvidia graphics card for this game, it seems the game will be optimized for Nvidia cards, as most recent Ubisoft games are.Specifically id recommend a GTX 660 or better, they also come with a FREE Watch Dogs code for a limited time only, so they are a good value. CPU wise, I would recommend an AMD FX processor, specifically one of their six-core CPU's, they are a great value and arent that far behind in terms of performence from the 8 core FX series. I wouldnt recommend getting an i7 unless you are doing any type of actual computational work, in which case most of you arent. You could go for an i5 if you would like, but the 6 core FX series performs almost the same for about $100 less. And no, I am NOT an AMD "Fanboy", im just recommending whats best value wise, if you have enough money to get a good GPU and CPU, get an i7. Q: Do you have to much time on your hands? A: Yes.

hi guys, so i bought a inno 3d 780 ti in february and had some problems playing bf4. i thought it was the game and maybe my bios but now i start playing again and start playing watch dogs and if i use the ultra settings on my 2560x1600p (45-60 fps) screen or even on my FHD screen there i get more than 60-75 fps the game crashes every 5-15 minutres with no reason-.- if i set it on high there is no problem at all:( so what could be the problem? is it my psu("only" 580 watts? or do i have a bad card? inno3d has overclocked it a bit. it really freaks me out that i can't finish a round in bf4 and have to play on high settings after buying a 650€ gnu -.- i always have the latest drivers, even tried betas. my cpu us really oc too, but i'm not sure if thats the problem, i had no problems on my old gpu with the same oc cpu. thx in advance:) CPU Intel i7 3770K @ 4,6 Ghz Motherboard Asus Sabertooth Z77 RAM Corsair Vengeance 16 Gb GPU Inno3D iChill 780 Ti hercules edition Case Xigmatek Midgard 2 Storage Samsung 840 Evo PSU be Quiet STRAIGHT POWER E9 | 580W CM Display(s) NEC SpectraView 302, 2x NEC 24WMCX Cooling Thermalright Macho Keyboard Logitech G710+ Mouse Logitech G700s

Hello all, Even with all of the bugs, I'm having a pretty good time playing Watch Dogs. But I'm having a big issue. The game keeps "Not responding" Then only giving the option to force close the program. Anyone have a fix? Thanks.

What the hell is up with dogs in video games? First off, there are the titles, like Watch Dogs and Sleeping Dogs. And then there are virtual dogs. First people went crazy when in GTA V's trailer they showed a dog (I don't even know if they kept it in), then there was the whole obsession about the COD dog. I mean, I don't hate dogs, but I do hate the obsession over them (and cats). Sorry that this is kind of a pointless topic, I don't have money and I'm bored.

So I haven't been totally paying attention to ubisoft but what exactly happened to watch dogs? The game looked great in the trailer but where did it go? I want them to just take my money but I don't know when that is going to be.

https://www.g2a.com/r/50offwatchdogs This website has Watch Dogs for 30$ USD and allows payments in other currencies, allowing you to bypass the ridiculous amount paypal charges. This is where I got my copy, so I know it's legit. The only downside is that you are forced to use uplay, although the steam version requires you to install uplay anyways.

I'm looking into building a PC for my parents. It won't have to be very powerful, so I'm not terribly worried about sound-proofing or extreme airflow. What I am worried about is the fact that they have 5 cats, a dog, and occasionally small children running around with scary cups of juice. So, anybody have a good suggestion for a case that is dust proof and hard to spill liquids into the components? Thanks for any help!

I am seeing a number of threads out there about poor performance in Watch Dogs. Let me start by saying that I did NOT pirate the game. I purchased a hard copy from Ubisoft and they sent them out early. Mine arrived on Thursday. Considering my system spec (i5 3570k @4.7 & 2x GTX 780's), I should be able to crush this game. My frame rate generally sits around 60, but I have seen it fluctuate from 35, all the way up to 120+. But anywhere out in the open world the frames are generally in that 50-60 range. Also worth noting that my cards are running at around 60-70% usage, per card. And just under 3GB of VRAM is being used. And while most people would be happy with 60 frames, as a 144 Hz monitor owner.. 60 frames just doesn't cut it. What in holy hell do we have to do to get a good open world game that runs smoothly. Sleeping Dogs did it and that was a good looking DX11 game. It ran beautifully. So why do games like GTA IV and Watch Dogs run like such shit. Monitoring my CPU, the highest it goes is around 85% use so I'm not maxing anything out. Battlefield 4 pushes my system similarly with my CPU going anywhere from 85-95% and my GPU's running at about 80% each. The difference is, I get 150-200 frames on BF4. In this day and age if someone builds a $3,000 computer, you should expect every game to run amazing out of the box, bu the dev's are all too worried about getting a solid, albeit blistering, 30 frames per second on the consoles. Where is the love for the PC? Why don't we have a proper driver? The 337.81 driver still isn't out for the general public. I had to get some sketchy Chinese driver from Guru 3D, when the driver should have been up on Geforce weeks ago. I'm just getting sick of it. Nvidia used to be on point with drivers releasing weeks before a game came out. Now they seem to be worse than how AMD used to be. Is anyone else out there as frustrated as I am?

For those of you out there playing Watch Dogs and using SLI, this is a post you are going to want to pay attention to. To begin, I want to get one thing out of the way. About a week ago there was this "ninja driver" that a lot of people got. The driver was a beta driver, numbered 337.81. Some people know it as the "Chinese Driver". Any who... Today comes along the new WHQL, which promised increased performance across many games and an "improved" SLI profile for the highly anticipated Watch Dogs. First lets debunk that last statement. There is absolutely no difference in any way, shape, or form in the SLI profile found within this latest driver, 337.88. Going all the way back to 337.50 the Watch Dogs profile has not budged an inch. Nothing has been changed. Here is a comparison of the two between 337.81 and 337.88. A blind man can see that these driver are identical. Okay, so no big deal Joker, right? Wrong. Now the game is on the verge of release. Some people, myself included, received their copy of the game legally because the vendors shipped them early. Other people have been playing the game all week thanks to some internet piracy. We will ignore those folks, though. Let's get down to the performance of the game. Its bad. REALLY REALLY BAD! I am running dual GTX 780's and I am seeing my frames drop into the mid 40's while driving around the city. The story is even worse during police chases with explosions going off, slo-mo cameras, and all the hacking stuff. During these sequences my FPS have dropped down into the TEENS! This is unacceptable. The dev's are pointing the finger at system specs of the users. Um, excuse me.. But how is my $3,000 computer not up to spec to run a modern game? I run Battlefield 4 on 64 player servers at 200 FPS without dropping a single fucking frame. Let's look at some screenshots. Note the bottom right corner for framerates. The dev's biggest thing they are telling us to do is turn down textures. So I tested this. Below are two screens. The first is at medium textures (the lowest they go) with every other setting on Ultra with 4x TXAA. The second screen is with Ultra textures and all other settings on Ultra with 4x TXAA. So looking at these we have a difference of a whopping 3 frames per second. With the only change being the textures from the lowest possible setting to the highest possible setting. Tell me how in the hell is this good optimization? How it the users fault for not having good enough hardware like they want us to believe? Don't worry it gets better. Now I am going to show you two more screen shots. Both of these are with every setting in the game on Ultra, including textures and with 4x TXAA. The difference? In the first screen I am using the Far Cry 3 SLI bits. The second one is using the Assassin's Creed III SLI bits. The reason for choosing these is that the Watch Dogs engine is a combination of two engine's. The Dunia engine (Far Cry 3) and the Anvil Next Engine (Assassin's Creed III) So there you have it folks. With just 15 minutes of my time I took 74 frames on ultra and turned that into 93 frames per second on ultra. Why can't Nvidia do this? Why can't the developer's do this? It isn't rocket science. It is pure laziness on the part of the developer's and the people at Geforce making these drivers. 19 frames might not seem like much, but what about a guy running a GTX 760 where that 19 frames could be the difference of the game being utterly unplayable and just playable enough. The effort is pathetic and as consumers, we deserve better.
