So yesterday I switched out my graphics card(gainward gtx 580) with a GTX 560 to test it out. When I booted into Windows I was expecting to have to install new drivers but apparently not, I went and benchmarked it and I was pleased with the results. I then switched the cards back and left it for the morning. When I turned on my computer, everything seemed fine, I clicked the windows option(to boot into) and I got a black screen. My first thought was to turn it off and on again, that didn't work so it may have been the drivers so I tried booting into safe mode, I'm seeing the circle loading thing but nothing has happened for about 30 mins. After some googling I saw someone with a similar problem that all they did was change the voltage on their ram but there is 3 problems about that 1) I can't access my bios because my stupid asus motherboard doesn't recognise USB input at POST(it was fine before I upgraded to Windows 10 and I have tried updating the drivers) 2) I don't know my ram I took it out from a prebuilt system 3) it seemed to be working for a year so I doubt it has something to do with that. And do now I'm stuck and going to this forum for help

I bought JC3 because it was on sale for a good price, but it doesn't save. I've only played the first 20 minutes of the game because I'm waiting to build my new PC before I play it for real, but I just wanted to see how it ran on my current computer (not very well at all). The problem is that it doesn't save any progress, I've tried running it as an administrator, with compatibility mode, and combinations of both, but nothing works. It creates a save folder in the proper location, but I don't know if it's not updating the save, or reading from it when I restart the game. Every time I restart it, it starts as if I've never opened it before. Any help would be appreciated

Hey, so here is my problem, I bought parts for my computer, a b360m ds3h from gigabyte, i3 8100, 2 ddr4 2x4GB VenganceLPX from corsair and a gtx 1060 that arrives later, the issue here is that I've plugged in the rest of the components to the case, all good and kinda beautiful and inserted a gtx 650 just to see if the system worked, and it did, but it doesn't give any screen at all :(, I have a 350 PSU but i'm not really sure that's the issue, help please :(

@WinNut, @thekeemo, @IdortMasterRace, @, @patrickjp93, @babbaj and I were all talking. I started a status here about this. I vote CaseLabs. They would be easy to work with, look appealing, be one of a kind and would be suited to me perfectly with all the customization they offer. The Magnum SMA8 comes to mind. Who would you have make a partner for you and why? And yes, I get that this topic is a bit weird...

Hi forum, So today I bought a chromecast. I connected it to my internet on a 2.4ghz band and then went through the setup process on my Galaxy Note 3. After the setup I went straight into the YouTube app, and it worked great. However, no other cast enabled apps seem to work, The screen cast feature also doesn't work as it says it can't find a cast enabled device. I know for a fact that my phone can connect to the chromecast as I am able to tweak settings in the app, and the changes show up on the TV. I am also using an ASUS RT AC66R as a router. Why is YouTube the only app that is able to cast? I bought this thing mainly to cast from Crunchyroll and to screen mirror, and neither of these seem to be working. Thanks in advance!

Hello, I have a strange problems with my laptop. First of all I have a Samsung Series 7 Chronos NP 770Z7E S01NL with the following basic specs. Intel Core i7 3635QM (2,4Ghz, 6MB L3 Cache, Intel HM76 Chipset, HD Graphics 4000) AMD Radeon HD 8870M 2GB GDDR5 RAM Some Samsung made 1 TB HDD 8GB (4+4) Patriot 1600Mhz RAM Windows 7 Professional, (did a downgrade a month or so ago and everything proceeded fine with all the latest drivers). Bios version, P03ABZ MICOM version, P03ABZ I can't upload any screenshots in some weird way... The problem: Basic: My main problem with this laptop is that the CPU in some weird way stopped to deliver any Turbo boost whatsoever with any kind of load. Detailed: Temps are always below 45°C (Normal low load) and 55°C with heavy load (Prime95). The clock speeds won't exceed the "stock" 2.4Ghz and before that the CPU worked just fine. The CPU turbo'd it self to 3.2 when I loaded a webpage or did some heavy task on Blender. I think that the turbo boost was somehow and somewhere disabled because when I got this laptop it had a clockspeed range of 2.4 up to 3.4Ghz with Intel Turbo Boost Technology but now it says 2.4~2.39Ghz with no reason why. How it started you might ask? Well I don't know what happened to this laptop, I noticed it today when I played MineCraft after a while and I had much lower FPS count (30~45 instead of 100+). I thought that the Anti Aliasing from the Catalyst Control Center the problem maker was like it was turned itself too high causing my game to lag. But when I looked at the Game Optimisation menu I didn't see anything weird, it was set just as what I wanted from it. So I loaded another game, Rise of the Reds (a mod for Generals ZH), it's pretty CPU demanding game and guess what it lagged so much that the game isn't playable (10 instead of 25+ FPS ). What I tried: I did some troubleshooting like setting the laptop to high performance in the power options, disabled any power saving options with the Samsung Easy Settings. Looked in the Bios of the laptop, it didn't have any enable/ disable Turbo Boost options, I only found a "Turbo boost control". Makes the turbo kick in at certain point, I enabled that, didn't help and disabled it again and nothing changed at all. So I reset the Bios and tried to do a system restore. Didn't help either. Some details about the bios: The Bios does have couple basic options like turning hyperthreading on or off, changing the time, battery calibration, battery power saving options, drive priority. So then I did a Google search but didn't find anything helpful. Again I don't know when it happened but I know for certain that this problem started yesterday when I didn't game on my laptop. Because the day before yesterday the laptop worked fine. What I could do: I'm planning to uninstall all the drivers and install them again. I can return my laptop to the retailer, Wehkamp.nl. I also have a restoration partition on my HDD so I can install Windows 8 back if nothings helps. So what do you people advice my to do with my laptop? Do you also have another fix for this annoying problem? Thanks for the reading Added the Bios version

Hello dear reader(s), I'm going to give you a heads up, this is a pretty long and detailed story. The reason behind it is that experts might noticed something that I overlooked since I don't have any experience at all and don't know what to do. If you want to skip to the summary of the problem, at the end there is a section with a big, blue header. After posting a topic a while ago about some upgrades I wanted to do, I had ordered the parts a few weeks ago. These parts were a Cooler Master V850 and a Sapphire R9 290 Tri-X OC (all new). In the mean time, I installed a Samsung 840 Pro as boot drive and installed a fresh, new Windows 7 Ultimate 65-bit. All worked perfectly. When the parts finally arrived, I put them in the day after. This was my first time ever to install a new PSU, I already knew how to install a GPU (and RAM). The old PSU was a semi-modular, the new one is fully modular. I shall provide my old setup and new setup below. Old Case: Cooler Master Centurion 534 PSU: Cooler Master Real Power M520 Mobo: ASUS M4A87TD/USB3 CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 965 (stock) with AMD (stock) cooler GPU: ASUS EAH5850 1GB TOP Direct CU (stock) RAM: GeIL DDR3-1300 2x2GB (stock) Storage: 1TB WD green something New Case: Cooler Master Centurion 534 PSU: Cooler Master V850 Mobo: ASUS M4A87TD/USB3 CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 965 (stock) with AMD (stock) cooler GPU: Sapphire R9 290 Tri-x OC (stock) RAM: GeIL DDR3-1300 2x2GB (stock) (soon to be 16GB Corsair Vengeance 1866 or 1600) Storage: 1TB WD green something for storage 265GB Samsung 840 Pro for boot So I was pretty excited that the computer booted up properly and everything worked fine. I tested this on my desk, with only the power cable plugged in. After knowing that all was working fine, I pressed the on/off button on the case till the PC shut down. I put the PC back to its normal place, where it always stands. Plugged in all the cables and pressed the on/off button to start the system. Everything booted up properly and I installed the drivers for my new GPU. After that, I bench marked with Fire Strike (to see the difference between my new and old GPU) and played a new game to see it's performance. When I was done with all that, I thought I would shut down my PC as I wasn't using it anymore (it had been running for about 5-6 hours without problems). I always use the shut down option in the Windows start menu (I thought I'd just mention it, because I also know some people that always press the on/off button till the PC shuts down). I never switch the PSU off with the on/off switch located on the PSU. But later that night I wanted to look up something, so I pressed the start button.... nothing. No fans spinning, no *beep* sound, no blue LED's jumping on, nothing. Well okay, I thought, perhaps the PSU on/off switch. Nope, this was on 'power'. Tried again, a few times. Unplugged the power cable, waited for a few seconds and tried again. Nothing. So I unplugged all the cables and put my PC back on my desk, with only the power cable plugged in. Removed the side panel and saw that the green LED in my motherboard was on (means that it is in sleep mode/soft-off mode). So I knew that I got power from the PSU. Again, nothing booted when I pressed the power button. So I tried these settings to see if I could find the probable cause of this: All cables unplugged, except the mobo and CPU cable. All cables unplugged, except the mobo, CPU and GPU. All cables plugged in. For every test I did, I used these settings: With 2 sticks of my RAM. With 1 stick of my RAM. With no RAM. With no RAM and GPU. With no GPU. No result, as you might guess by the amount of settings I tried. So I removed my new PSU and put my old PSU back in and.... *beep*, everything was working perfectly except the GPU (one fan wasn't spinning as hard as it should, but I think that's because it didn't get enough power). I installed my old GPU and tried again. It still booted up as it should. I tried the same settings as above with my old PSU, it even gave the error beeps with GPU or RAM problem/missing. So I made the conclusion that my new PSU was faulty. I send it back to the store I bought it from for a test/repair, as I don't have a PSU tester (and I have warranty). My PC was now running on the old setup again, as the old PSU didn't give enough power for the new GPU. A few days ago the news came that the PSU wasn't faulty and that they would send it back. Yesterday I received it together with a anti-static wrist strap (just feels a bit more safe). I installed my new PSU immediately and pressed the power button. *Beep*, success! I pressed the power button till the system shut down and I installed my new GPU. Again, I pressed the power button and again a *beep*. Shut it down again by holding the power button till it shut down. I put my PC back under my desk, plugged in all the cables and started the system. It started without any problems and I played BF3 for a while. When I thought it was time for bed, I shut the PC down via the Start menu. When the PC was off, I thought by myself "let's try it again, would be weird if it didn't start now". And whadduyouknow, it didn't boot.... Nothing. This morning I tried it again with unplugging all cables, only leaving in the mobo+CPU cable from the PSU. Tried with the old GPU, still nothing. These are my observations. The system works perfectly, without any problems, with the new GPU and PSU. If I use the 'shut down' option via Start Menu, the PC won't boot. If I press the power button on the case itself till the PC shuts off, I can boot (for certain: for a second or third time) without problems. The motherboard gets power, the green LED indicator for the sleep mode is glowing. The system doesn't have this problem with the old PSU. The new PSU is not faulty, according to the store I bought it from (after testing with PSU tester). Nothing is wrong with the power button on the case/cables or anything, as it works without problems with the old PSU/setup. Problem is now, I can't use my PC at all. The cooler mount of my old GPU broke this morning and since I cant use my old PSU with my new GPU, I can't use my PC. I don't have another GPU laying around. For those who took the time to read it, I thank you. I don't know what to do, this whole problem doesn't seem logical to me.
