  1. I recently bought a TUF Gaming B550m-plus motherboard from ASUS, and plenty other components and managed to build a PC which was basically new from everything other than a few components (pretty much just the storage, psu, and case remained from the previous build.) I installed windows and got to installing some apps on my new system, and everything seemed to be working pretty good, so I didn't think I'd run into any issues anywhere going forward. That is until I decided to finally go into the BIOS and turn on the DOCP settings on. As soon as i pressed save and exit, the PC would simply shut off maybe 3 or so times, and would then tell me to press F1 if i wanted to go to the BIOS settings/reset them to defaults. Whenever I'd turn off DOCP and leave the ram to run on the stock 2400mhz, the PC would boot up just fine and it doesn't seem like i'd have any issues. I got this RAM not too long ago, and i actually tested it out on my older build to see if it's defective, and after running it quickly throught the memtest and using it for about 3-4 days in my older build, it seemed to be working fine, so I didn't think there'd be any issues with this "new" PC and that RAM. The specific model is from Teamgroup, TUF Gaming alliance ram, 16GBx2 configuration rated for 3200mhz. The exact serial number (think that's what it's called?) is: TLTYD432G3200HC16FDC01. The CPU is Ryzen 5 5600X, so I figured it wouldn't have any issues running at 3200mhz with the DOCP RAM. One thing I should note is that while I DID load the DOCP on my old motherboard and CPU aswell, i tuned the frequency down to 2933mhz, because i was running a Ryzen 5 2600x, and I read somewhere that's it's most rated operating speed. Are there any ideas or suggestions on what I should do with my current config? I didn't touch anything in BIOS again after it refused to POST for the 2 times I tried doing it as I'm too scared of playing around with it, so i simply left it all running "as is" on my motherboard. The BIOS version my motherboard is running is 2803, so it's not the newest one, but I wouldn't say it's too old either.
  2. MiniDump files: https://mega.nz/folder/aPpGQaLD#51hctOLnVY0fAZR_y39GdQ Build: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/DqJwwc Windows 11 Pro 10.0.22621 Build 22621 BIOS Version: 0613 x64, build date 9/22/22 NVIDIA Drivers are up to date So here's what's been happening. Ever since I built this PC around 2 months ago, I've been plagued with random crashes. Either the PC itself crashes, the game I'm playing crashes, or just Firefox crashes, though I'll elaborate on that last one in a second. So up until last night I simply put up with it. Sometimes just the game would crash. Multiple games, some demanding some not. I started keeping a resource monitor up but my GPU never really exceeds 60C, and my CPU stays cool as well. Sometimes the whole PC crashes. This can be while I'm simply browsing the web. Sometimes it's when I'm playing a game. Seems utterly random. Last night I got tired of it, as I'm trying to enjoy Starfield, and the loss of progress can get frustrating. So I went into my BIOS and saw that DOCP wasn't enabled. Now this is odd as typically I see XMP and DOCP causing crashes. So I enabled DOCP, and played Starfield without any issue. Obviously it was only a multihour run as opposed to 2 months so I have no idea if that addressed anything. The issue began when I started watching YouTube videos. Firefox would crash after a few minutes of watch time, and after having to constantly restore the tab or restart the browser, eventually I would BSOD. This was the only time I had issues with FF itself crashing alone. I looked further and saw someone mention you can bump the voltage up to 1.36 and sometimes that helps. So I tried that, but then my PC just continuously BDOD after a few minutes, so I set that back to 1.35. So right now I'm running DOCP enabled with its autodetected voltages. EDIT: I have had 2 BSOD since I posted this.
  3. To preface this, I've done a ton of research into this problem. I'm not the only one and RMAs don't seem to help. Whatever's going on here is just considered a normal operating quirk of either the Dark Hero, the higher end Ryzen 5000 chips or both. Simply put, the system will crash at a firmware level every so often. It doesn't matter if it's under load or idle, it can just lock up with no response to even holding the power button. This immediately makes me think motherboard, but it was suggested by others that RAM could be the cause. I've tried disabling Gear Down mode as well as DDR Power Down - this had no effect, and may even have made it worse. Someone else suggested increasing the DRAM Voltage, and that yielded some really interesting results. In Asus's BIOS, if you're not familiar, you get your input field for the voltage and a little box to the left showing what voltage would be applied by default. Normally, this field is set to "Auto". When you enable DOCP, this field changes to whatever the DOCP profile sets. What's interesting, however, is that the default value in that little box keeps changing. One boot, it might be 1.27V. Another, it could be as high as 1.38V. Often, after a crash, it'll read above whatever you try and set indicating that the BIOS seems to think the memory needs more voltage. Surely, though, 1.38V is enough? I even tried redlining it at 1.4V but it still wanted more (which I was not willing to give it, I don't believe that's safe). It was also suggested to me that 5950X CPUs can sometimes be very badly binned, and when using PBO it can cause significant instability where certain cores (or even entire CCDs) are less up to the task. Someone even suggested that the IO die could've been badly binned, and that was causing the apparent memory instability. If this is the case, there's little I can do because I've passed my return window now. I'm not necessarily looking for a solution, although I'll take it if you have one, but rather just second opinions that might help me piece together a picture of what's going on in my little box of thinking sand. System Specs: AMD Ryzen 5950X (PBO Enabled, Core Enhancements Enabled) Noctua NH-D15 chromax Corsair Vengence LPX 3600Mhz/C16 (DOCP Enabled) Asus Crosshair Dark Hero VIII X570 Samsung 980 Pro 1TB x2 LG Optical Drive Hotplug 2.5 inch SATA Bay Samsung 870 Evo 2TB Nvidia RTX 3090 Founders LSi 9211-8i HBA 5x Seagate IronWolf Pro 6TB Corsair HXi 1000W PSU
  4. I bought my pc like 2 years ago and tried the docp but it just boot looped 3 times and i reset it back to default and didnt think of figuring it out at at the time but 3 days ago i did a drivers check adn saw that i had a bios update to do so I did that and thought the docp might have been bios issue so i tried it agin and still did the same thing. Between the 2 years ive had this pc i did replace the motherboard once becasue of a power outage but no other parts were damaged. my parts are: Ryzen 7 3700X TUF Gaming B550-PLUS G-Skill 8GBx2 3600MHz The issue it it is running at 2133MHz and I wanna use the full potential, so could someone help me figure this out?

Everything was good. On March 30th 2023 I upgraded the RAM to 32GB 3200 as shown above. On May 9th 2023 the computer crashed, it was the first real blue screen. I rebooted and everything was fine, then I ran AIDA64 and the stress test said "Hardware failure detected." I've never seen that before. I rebooted and tried AIDA again, but this time the PC froze before the stress test could load. I rebooted, on reboot I tried to load AMD Adrenalin and I got the "windows replaced driver error." I used DDU and reinstalled the driver, rebooted, AIDA crashed again. Rebooted, no Graphics drivers again. Repeated the process, this time I turned XMP or DOCP as ASUS calles it off. Re-installed the drivers and tested, everything fine. All other BIOS/UEFI options are default I thought it might be the Recent AMD GPU Drivers so I rolled back to the last known good one for me. Turned XMP back on, same issues with AIDA crashes. Turned XMP off no issues. TLDR: XMP makes GPU drivers crash when on, after months of non issues. All other BIOS/UEFI options are default
  6. Hi guys, I recently bought new parts, but I can't get them to work properly. The Rig: MB: Asus ROG Crosshair Hero VIII Wi-Fi CPU: AMD 5900X RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws - 2x32GB 4000MHz CL18 PSU: Be Quiet! Dark Power Pro 1000W So the problem is that when I enter the BIOS and load the D.O.C.P the computer becomes unstable. I only managed to start the system with the D.O.C.P twice out of at least 20 times. What I did is I lowered the memory down to 3800MHz instead of 4000 and the FCLK accordingly to 1900 MHz. The thing is that there are so many options for overclocking this thing that I have no idea what to do to make it run as it says on the box. So any pro advice is welcome! How do I make this thing work, be stable, compliant with infinity fabric and everything else? These parts should be capable of achieving something good, right? Thank you in advance!
  7. Minor issue, probably a simple fix I’m sure asus crosshair viii dark hero wifi 5900x 4x 16gb team group (white argb) 16cl 3600mhz ^purchased 2 kits, same model number, 2x in a kit not huge into overclocking, don’t feel comfortable possibly shorting out my ram or otherwise. Bios is updated version 4004, 02/22/22 docp crashes when I set it to 3600. If I leave everything alone it only runs at 2400mhz (duh I know that’s ddr4 limit). Of course after messing with the settings enough I get tired of flashing my CMOS anybody out there figure out decent bios settings to get these suckers working, at or near 3600mhz? honestly 2400mhz works fine but, hey right? my daughters build has 4x 16gb teamgroup ugly nighthawk things, 18CL @ 3600mhz and on a MSI gaming carbon pro Wifi, 59000x, Xmp works fine. neither MSI or Asus have these sticks on their QVL but other models, of course from the same brand. there’s gotta be a simple fix for this. Should I just manually enter the timings as reported by the motherboard? Any suggestions would be helpful, this can’t be too complicated! whoop whoop! Thanks guys!
  8. Hi guys, how are you. I'll leave my configuration right here and below related to my problem: Here is my current configuration: "Mobo Asus TUF X570" + "Ryzen 3600x" + "2x 8GB G.Skill 3600 Trident NEO" + "GPU RX 6700XT Sapphire Nitro +" + "PSU EVGA 750BQ" + WC Corsair H100i V2. The problem is this. I am no longer able to apply the DOCP in the bios. I've tried everything. I've reverted the bios version, and nothing resolves. When it starts up, it's normal, but if you turn off the computer and turn it on again, it won't start anymore. Then I have to clean the cmos and redo the procedure, but it doesn't stabilize. The worst thing is that my computer was normal forever, I never had any problems at all. DOCP worked beautifully. From one day to the next it was like this. I'm pretty discouraged. Can anyone help me with this?
  9. Hi All, My first post here! So I built a machine earlier this year, for work, gaming and VR. PCPartPicker Part List CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 5950X 3.4 GHz 16-Core Processor (£699.98 @ Scan.co.uk) CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D15 chromax.black 82.52 CFM CPU Cooler (£89.99 @ Amazon UK) Motherboard: Asus ROG Strix X570-E Gaming ATX AM4 Motherboard (£291.56 @ Amazon UK) Memory: G.Skill Trident Z Neo 64 GB (4 x 16 GB) DDR4-3600 CL16 Memory (£586.53 @ Amazon UK) Storage: Samsung 970 Evo 2 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive Video Card: PNY GeForce RTX 3090 24 GB XLR8 Gaming EPIC-X RGB Video Card (£2082.84 @ SmartTeck.co.uk) Case: Fractal Design Meshify 2 ATX Mid Tower Case (£119.99 @ Scan.co.uk) Power Supply: Asus 1200 W 80+ Platinum Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply Total: £3870.89 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2021-08-23 13:53 BST+0100 The problem I'm having is recently I've been getting BSODs, usually with stop codes like MEMORY_MANAGEMENT or ATTEMPTED_WRITE_TO_READONLY_MEMORY or KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR. So I decided to run a bunch of RAM tests. Tests Ran all memory sticks together with Karhu RAM Tester, and raised errors. Ran each memory stick individually with Memtest86, and all but one passed. Ran the 3 passed memory sticks together with Karhu RAM Tester and after several hours got a BSOD. Going back to the drawing board after that last test failed, I considered the DOCP settings, I have them set up like so: https://imgur.com/a/f6XMpG9 Just using the default DOCP settings, as the ram is rated as 3600. I turned off the DOCP settings and re-ran the Karhu RAM Tester with all 4 sticks of RAM back in (as it seems more rigorous than the Memtest86 test), and after 17 hours and 9214% coverage, it's found 0 errors. So, my question is where to go from here? I assume the RAM itself is good, but the DOCP settings aren't playing ball somehow? In which case how do I get the speed advertised on the RAM, but also system stability? My motherboard is on the QVL list for the RAM (https://www.gskill.com/qvl/165/326/1562840280/F4-3600C16Q-64GTZNC-Qvl), so I don't understand why I'm having so much trouble. Another random point, which may be related, but probably isn't. I've noticed that the RAM RGB bottom half often flickers when running some kind of animation, all the sticks seem to do this, with differing frequency. I'm less bothered by this as it's purely aesthetics, but still a bit annoying. The weird thing is, this only seems to happen when it's running an animation via Asus Armoury Crate, if it's left to it's default rainbow animation it works fine. Which makes me think it's a software problem rather than an hardware problem. (Video of this issue here: https://imgur.com/a/f6XMpG9) I've also updated the BIOS to the latest stable Thanks!
  10. What difference between DOCP and set same settings manually? ASUS X470F M/B I had DOCP but had issues with Cyperpunk crashing when RT is on. I set timing manually same as DOCP, reduced speed from 3200 to 3000, same voltage as docp. No more crashing.
  11. So, my PC started stuttering a while back, when there was an automatic Windows update. Looks like the the CPU starts using only one or two of it's cores, never peaking, but it's definitely not close to usage of the other cores. It is not a problem on certain games or programs, because it happens to many different applications. This problem has happened before, but not as intense as it is happening now, and it kind of solved itself with time. The worst part about it now is that it is completely unstable and happens out of nowhere. It can happen after half an hour of studying in the PC or after half a day of playing. I tried a lot of different stuff to try and solve it (including uninstalling the Windows updates). Optimizing the BIOS configuration is my last hope. I know it might not even possible with this hardware, especially the memory, but maybe someone had this same issue Edit: The inconsistency attacks again. Half an hour in a meeting, it started stuttering. This is what happens. It stopped after a few minutes, and the third image is the normal CPU usage AFTER it started functioning badly.
  12. Need help with itx build. Recently transferred my PC from a mid tower to itx build. Only thing that was changed from my previous build was my motherboard from an MSI B550 Tomahawk to ASUS B550i-strix and the case. I am having a very interesting issue. When enabling DOCP to get my Geil ram to run at 3600 mghz everything seems to be fine and the system runs ok for the rest of the night. Then the next day when I try to boot I get a black screen, pc lights up keyboard and mouse light up, however no signal to monitor. The DRAM error light on the mobo lights up as well. In order to fix the problem I clear the cmos. This problem has repeated itself many times and I have not been able to replicate it aside from trying to turn my pc on the next day. I tried turning off the pc unplugging the psu and turning it back on, it boots perfectly fine. Only when I leave it overnight does this problem come up. I tried lowering the RAM speed to 3200 mghz and the problem came up again. The only time it has not come up is when I run the ram at default speeds 2133 mghz. I have also tried updating the BIOS to the latest version and it did not fix the problem. I do not believe it is faulty ram since the ram worked fine in my previous build. This problem has been very difficult to figure out the solution to as I do not know how to replicate the problem. Any help is appreciated. Also not sure if this is related at all. But when we first assembled it and tried to get it to post, I plugged my ps4 controller into the bios flashback usb port and the system did not post and we had to clear the cmos. Doubt this is related at all but wanted to throw it in there. Not sure what is causing this problem. (Mobo, RAM, SSD, PSU, CASE?) 13. Hello LTT Forum, first time poster here! I am asking you guys for help since I could barely find any information on LTT / Google about my specific issue. If anyone has experienced this please tell me. RIG: Ryzen 5950X, RTX 3090, Crosshair Hero VIII Wifi, Corsair Vengeance Pro RGB 32gb 2x (SKU cmw32gx4m2c3200c16). I also checked that the RAM is listed in QVL as compatible with DOCP and 4 DIMMs directly on the ASUS support page, you can also find that here and find it with CRTL + F: https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/SocketAM4/ROG_CROSSHAIR-VIII-HERO_WI-FI/Memory_QVL_for_AMD_Ryzen_5000_X570-4DIMM.pdf The issue is, as in title, that my PC does not boot when I enable DOCP in BIOS. In fact it instantly shuts off and retries 3-4 times until it asks me to setup the BIOS again due to the failed POSTs. Funny enough is that this issue persists with 2 DIMMs from the same kit, 4 DIMMs and even the DIMMs swapped out and tried in different slots. Sometimes it also works but randomly stops working when adding new RAM or randomly upon boot so I begin again with 2133MHz. Without DOCP the RAM works, I tested PRIME95, checked if RAM has any issues and in general without DOCP the system really rocks, but DOCP would be so nice to have working, especially when it is literally listed as working in this config. At this point I feel like the RAM kits are fine and the MOBO or the BIOS is the issue here. I tried the BIOS 2311 and 2702, I will test the BIOS version 2502 right now but I doubt it's success. Anyone else here with same config or maybe I missed a forum post with that EXACT same issue? I would even give something back for a solution that makes this work. lol Thanks for reading and even if you don't have a solution I'd be glad to hear if I am at least not alone with this or maybe I made a mistake with the config.
  14. First of all, I would like to say that I am a beginner in the PC field. I bought a 32Gb kit Corsair Vengence RGB Pro 3200mhz cl16. When I activated XMP everything started without crashes etc but it only shows 2133mhz in Windows. I tried to enter the values 16-18-18-36 manually and tried everything from 1.35 - 1.42 volts but everything did not work and at 1.42 volts the PC did not restart. After a long press on the on / off switch I got into the bios. So I don't like to go over 1.4 volts. The best what I have achieved are 3000mhz 17-18-18-36 at 1.4 volts I can't go down with the CAS latency and can't go up with the clock speed. Also I don't know anything about Sub-Timings so I changed nothing there. My PC specs: - Amd Ryzen 5 3600xt - MSI B550-A Pro - Corsair Vengence RGB Pro 3200mhz cl16 16-18-18-36 (part-number: CMW32GX4M2C3200C16W) - GTX 1660 Ti I hope someone can help me. And sorry for my bad english skills.
  15. Long story short, was one of the lucky few to get a retail priced RTX 3080 and Ryzen 9 5950X ((hang in there my dudes, they ARE out there!), bought 64 GB of Corsair Vengance 4 x 16 GB DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory When I apply the XMP profile in my Asus motherboard for 3200 it causes CoD:Black Ops Cold War and Red Dead Redemption 2 to crash after anywhere from 3-15 minutes or so. Setting XMP mode back to just "Auto" makes things stable it seems, was able to play for extended play sessions w/ no crashes now. But Auto makes the RAM run at 2133 Mhz. Ouch I re-setup the XMP and set it to 3200 but then made the target memory frequency 3133, and that seems table (haven't had too much time to test it more thuroughly yet) The rest of the settings I left set at what XMP provided, which is as follows. I would LIKE to get my RAM back to 3200Mhz though, but obvioulsy not if it causes crashes. Any advice on what I should do here in this case? Thanks in advance!!! CAS to 16 Trcdrd to 20 Trcdwr to 20 DRAM RAS PRE Time to 20 DRAM RAS ACT Time to 38 DRAM Votlage to 1.35000
  16. Hello guys, I bought an Asus TUF gaming B550M-plus and coupled with a 3900X and 2 pairs of HX432C16PB3K2/16. The memory is on QVL for use in the 4 slots. Well, when I got all 4 pairs in I got random issues (BSOD,etc), but nothing caught on Memtest86 when running for 30min. Then I decided to test each ram on each slot. I could get many configurations to POST with DOCP profile (A2-B2,A1-A2-B2, only A1, only A2, only B2), except when there was any memory on slot B1. When testing with RAM only on B1, I swapped the RAM with all identical 4 DIMMs that I had and still didn't work. However, when B1 is populated I can get a POST when removing the DOCP profile. The Motherboard is using the latest 1004 BIOS. I thought about some issue with the b550m, but is there a chance of being something else? Like the CPU?
  17. Hi there! Ryzen 9 3900x ASUS TUF x570 Plus WiFi Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 3600mhz Windows 10 x64 I have tried the DOCP to get my 3600mhz instead of the 2133mhz it has been sitting at. Just fails 3 times then tells me there is a problem and to fix it to continue. Tried these wonky looking timings by the 1usmus Calc and it does the same stuff. The Calc does not show TRFC2 or TRFC4 but my board says it has those timings. I have never messed with my RAM before so I am doing my best with the info I have looked up thus far. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!
  18. So, second topic, same issue. I have: Ryzen 7 3800x Asus B550-F Gaming Wi-Fi Motherboard EVGA 3070ti FTW3 Graphics Card G.Skill F4-3200C16D-32GTZN Ram The ram will not overclock (no post) no matter what I do. Cross referenced on compatibility, good. BIOS update, good. Both sticks of ram are working, but being the 3rd kit I’ve tried I have no clue what it is that’s causing my system to not post in DOCP. I’ve even gone as far to try a ram calculated and spent hours fiddling with timings and never any luck. Won’t even post at 2400Mhz let alone 3200Mhz. Could really use some help troubleshooting this.. Please.
  19. Hi guys, I'm experiencing a lot of game crashes when my DOCP profile is on (3600mhz), I ran some memtest and some CPU stress test but no errors during the testing. When I turn the profile off (2666mhz), to default, the crashes stops. Do you guys have any ideas what could cause this? There's nothing in even viewer after the crashes. I ran multiple test on GPU and other hardware to make sure it wasn't something else just in case. I tried 2 GPUs. What other troubleshooting I could try or any ideas on what could be the cause? Faulty MB, PSU or RAM ? Can look at my other post too it was for the same problem. Thanks in advance ! My specs: MB: ASUS TUF x570 GPU: Asus tuf 3080 OC and 2nd GPU MSI 1060 6GB CPU: Ryzen 9 5900x PSU: Corsair RM750 750w Ram: 2x Gskill 16gb 3600mhz
  20. I got some new 3200mhz ram and I heard ryzen benefits from higher memory frequencies so I enabled docp in my bios but my pc failed to post after I enabled it. I reset the cmos but it wouldn't post for a while but then it booted into safe mode. does anyone know how to enable docp without this happening? 21. Hey guys. I decided to reset my PC today due to some graphical performance issues. However, after loading into a fresh install of Windows 11, I noticed that my RAM wasnt overclocked. I went into BIOS to check to see if DOCP was enabled, and it was, however my RAM still seems to be running at 2133mHz instead of the 3600mHz that it is capable of running at. One thing that I have noticed is, after I make changes in BIOS, I get the American Megatrends splash screen stating that the PC booted into safe mode due to changes made in the BIOS, but when I go back into the BIOS, the DOCP settings arent reset, and remain on DOCP enabled. Specs are as follows: CPU - Ryzen 9 5900x GPU - EVGA 3070ti Ultra Motherboard: Asus ROG X570-E Memory: 2x Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB 3600mHz kit My BIOS is completely up to date, so is my chipset driver, and I've got no idea what to do. Keep in mind, I had NO issue overclocking my RAM before I reset my PC, and I was able to successfully OC my RAM when I first built my computer, so I have no clue what the issue is now. I've tried disabling and then re-enabling DOCP, but this hasnt worked. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
  22. Hi I recently upgraded my PC by switching from Intel to AMD New Mobo: X570 ROG Crosshair VIII Hero CPU: 3900X I reused the memory from my old config which was 4x8GB Corsair Vengeance LPX (CMK32GX4M4B3200C16) @ 3200Mhz In the Intel build I could only get that memory working stable at 3133Mhz, but in the new build it would run at 3200Mhz Some instability/BSOD issues that transferred to the new build and I put it down to the memory as it's the only component that was left to swap. So, as Ryzen likes faster RAM I decided to go for a dual 3600Mhx kit, but I'm not getting anywhere near those numbers. 2x16Gb Corsair Vengeance LPX "Ryzen Tuned" CMK32GX4M2Z3600C18 If I try to select the full 3600MHz the PC hangs with Q-Code 22 and the amber diagnostic LED If I clock it back to 3466Mhz it sticks on qcode 07 The only way it boots up is if I dial it right back to 3200Mhz - which is a waste of £40 as I could have purchased a 3200 kit if that's all these can get. I'm assuming I've done something wrong in the BIOS, so could someone steer me in the right direction so I can get the proper RAM speeds? My settings in BIOS (with mild OC): Ai Overclock Tuner: Manual Memory Frequency DDR4-3200MHz Core Performance Boost: Disabled CPU Core Ratio: 40.00 CPU Core Voltage: Manual CPU Core Voltage Override: 1.15v DRAM Voltage: 1.35v The rest are fan profile changes If I try to force RAM voltage to 1.35v and push beyond 3200Mhz I get a Q-Code: 22 If I try upping it from the stock 1.20v to 1.25v I get Q-code 07 So it doesn't seem happy with any voltage changes ... Any help appreciated
  23. Alright so I built a ryzen PC with an Asus board for a friend back in December, when I tried to get the ram to run at its rated speed via DOCP (3200MHz), it would not post, I visited his house 3 times doing my absolute best trying to manually key in the XMP profile, anything to get the ram beyond 2133, but the best I could pull off was 2800MHz (with the same timings and whatnot as the 3200MHz profile), the ram was even on the QVL, so we left it at that thinking that was the best we could pull off, and thought of never buying another Asus ryzen board. However during the process I found next to no forum posts or discussions of this issue. Keep in mind I just recently built another PC for my little brother and had no issue getting the ram to its rated speed via XMP (R3 3100, 2x8GB 3200MHz CL16 OLOy, AsRock B450m-Pro4). Am I retarded, was it the board, or is DOCP Garbage? (For that friend's PC we were using a corsair 2x8gb 3200MHz CL16 kit, a Ryzen 5 3600, and an Asus X570 gaming plus wifi.)
  24. 1. What is XMP / DOCP and why do I need it? 2. I turn on XMP / DOCP then my computer reboots a few times and goes back to default speed. Or won’t boot at all. 3. My computer sometimes crashes with a blue screen of death after turning on XMP / DOCP. 4. How do I see my ram speed in windows? Can I use task manager? 5. My ram speed is showing half my normal speed in CPU-Z. 6. My ram speed is a few mhz lower or higher than what I’m meant to be getting? 7. My ram in windows is showing that some (less than half) is not usable? 8. My ram in windows is showing that HALF is not usable? 9. I’m looking to buy ram, what configuration should I buy? 10. What if I want to upgrade my RAM in the future? 11. What is a ram KIT and how does it vary from a single stick? If you have any questions that you think should be added or changed please let me know!
  25. Hello, First post, and of course it's because I need help. Problem: I built a new machine late last year and I have a problem with my RAM. It should run at 3200 MHz CL16, but it only runs properly at stock (2133 I think). When I turn DOCP, it does run at the advertised specs, but sometimes my computer will just not turn on. More specifically, it will often not turn on when cold. For example when I get up in the morning or return home after a few hours of not using it, it will not post, everything will power up, but there is only a black screen. I'm not absulutely sure about this, but I think the motherboard shows the LED for memory. If I then use the restart button on the case, it will boot up properly. I could just keep doing it like that, but it is annoying and I'm concerned doing a hard reset so often might be damaging my system. If I boot it up after a short time, say after using it, it usually boots fine. If I turn DOCP off, it works like a charm, but then I'm only getting the basic speeds. The momeory apparently has a Samsung B die and should clock up, but when I tried using values from the RAM calculator for Ryzen, it either went into a reboot cycle until it went to bios to revert, or I have to clear CMOS to make it work again because it hangs on the black screen forever (had that happen at least twice). I updated the bios to the latest one a few weeks ago and still had the same issue. The CPU is running on stock settings. I have a huge PSU and the power is going through a UPS. At this point I'm just running it stock, which is a bummer. Any advice?
