  1. I completed my first build last week, specs of which I will post below: Motherboard: Asus TUF Gaming x570 plus CPU: Ryzen R7 3700x (with stock cooler) GPU: MSI GAMING X RTX 2070 SUPER RAM: G.Skill TRIDENT-Z 3600MHz ram 2x8GB Storage: WD BLACK SN750 NVMe PSU: EVGA 750B5 750w 80+ bronze I installed windows, all drivers, my games, enabled DOCP and started streaming Monster Hunter (a pretty demanding game!) the next day. No problems, everything looked good. One thing that bothered me though was the new hardware smell, so I had left Aida64 on a stability test and went away to eat lunch hoping that having all the fans running would air it out faster. Came back and I noticed there was a Hardware Failure detected! And the test was shut down. Restarted my computer and in what I believe to be an isolated incident, I was no longer able to boot into windows or repair windows and had to reinstall. I've run a few ~30min stability tests on the same Aida64 software since setting windows back up properly and noticed I only get that error to appear when DOCP is enabled and when I tell the software to stress the memory. I've never actually encountered any BSODs or strange behavior before the first time I ran Aida, and other benchmarks I've ran (including Memtest86) have returned adequate results, no errors. Since this is my first self-build I'm awfully paranoid that I've screwed something up royally. Does anyone else have experience with this? Are the Asus "ez mode" docp settings bad? Is there a potential problem with my hardware, or am I freaking out over something that isn't going to result in my machine exploding?
  2. 1. What is XMP / DOCP and why do I need it? 2. I turn on XMP / DOCP then my computer reboots a few times and goes back to default speed. Or won’t boot at all. 3. My computer sometimes crashes with a blue screen of death after turning on XMP / DOCP. 4. How do I see my ram speed in windows? Can I use task manager? 5. My ram speed is showing half my normal speed in CPU-Z. 6. My ram speed is a few mhz lower or higher than what I’m meant to be getting? 7. My ram in windows is showing that some (less than half) is not usable? 8. My ram in windows is showing that HALF is not usable? 9. I’m looking to buy ram, what configuration should I buy? 10. What if I want to upgrade my RAM in the future? 11. What is a ram KIT and how does it vary from a single stick? If you have any questions that you think should be added or changed please let me know!
  3. Hello, First post, and of course it's because I need help. Problem: I built a new machine late last year and I have a problem with my RAM. It should run at 3200 MHz CL16, but it only runs properly at stock (2133 I think). When I turn DOCP, it does run at the advertised specs, but sometimes my computer will just not turn on. More specifically, it will often not turn on when cold. For example when I get up in the morning or return home after a few hours of not using it, it will not post, everything will power up, but there is only a black screen. I'm not absulutely sure about this, but I think the motherboard shows the LED for memory. If I then use the restart button on the case, it will boot up properly. I could just keep doing it like that, but it is annoying and I'm concerned doing a hard reset so often might be damaging my system. If I boot it up after a short time, say after using it, it usually boots fine. If I turn DOCP off, it works like a charm, but then I'm only getting the basic speeds. The momeory apparently has a Samsung B die and should clock up, but when I tried using values from the RAM calculator for Ryzen, it either went into a reboot cycle until it went to bios to revert, or I have to clear CMOS to make it work again because it hangs on the black screen forever (had that happen at least twice). I updated the bios to the latest one a few weeks ago and still had the same issue. The CPU is running on stock settings. I have a huge PSU and the power is going through a UPS. At this point I'm just running it stock, which is a bummer. Any advice? Specs: ASUS TUF Gaming X570 Ryzen 9 3950X Ripjaws V, DDR4, 64 GB,3200MHz, CL16 (F4-3200C16Q-64GVK) Corsair HX Series 1200W 2x Intel M.2 SSD 4x HDD GTX 1080Ti Line Interactive 1500VA Greencell UPS Also hello everyone :)
  4. Hi guys I am having a bit of trouble with DOCP my pc tries to boot up 3 times but on the 4th try it takes me to the bios, it would work fine with the 1 stick of memory i had but then I got a second one and now it ownt work, I even tried changing it manually and still no boot any ideas as to what it could be? Thanks
  5. 6. Hi I recently upgraded my PC by switching from Intel to AMD New Mobo: X570 ROG Crosshair VIII Hero CPU: 3900X I reused the memory from my old config which was 4x8GB Corsair Vengeance LPX (CMK32GX4M4B3200C16) @ 3200Mhz In the Intel build I could only get that memory working stable at 3133Mhz, but in the new build it would run at 3200Mhz Some instability/BSOD issues that transferred to the new build and I put it down to the memory as it's the only component that was left to swap. So, as Ryzen likes faster RAM I decided to go for a dual 3600Mhx kit, but I'm not getting anywhere near those numbers. 2x16Gb Corsair Vengeance LPX "Ryzen Tuned" CMK32GX4M2Z3600C18 If I try to select the full 3600MHz the PC hangs with Q-Code 22 and the amber diagnostic LED If I clock it back to 3466Mhz it sticks on qcode 07 The only way it boots up is if I dial it right back to 3200Mhz - which is a waste of £40 as I could have purchased a 3200 kit if that's all these can get. I'm assuming I've done something wrong in the BIOS, so could someone steer me in the right direction so I can get the proper RAM speeds? My settings in BIOS (with mild OC): Ai Overclock Tuner: Manual Memory Frequency DDR4-3200MHz Core Performance Boost: Disabled CPU Core Ratio: 40.00 CPU Core Voltage: Manual CPU Core Voltage Override: 1.15v DRAM Voltage: 1.35v The rest are fan profile changes If I try to force RAM voltage to 1.35v and push beyond 3200Mhz I get a Q-Code: 22 If I try upping it from the stock 1.20v to 1.25v I get Q-code 07 So it doesn't seem happy with any voltage changes ... Any help appreciated
  7. Hi all My specs are: Ryzen 7 3700x GTX1660 Super Asus Prime X570P 16GB Corsair Vengeance 3600mhz (2x 8GB) 500gb sabrent m.2 Corsair CX650M power supply I have been experiencing frame timing issues in CSGO... particularly at high frame rates. I will have really good FPS 280+ consistently but about every 10 seconds or so my frame timings will shoot from 3-4ms to 50+ms for a brief second, resulting in stutter. When I have enabled V-Sync to limit the FPS to 60, the frame time spikes are less extreme and less frequent (staying at 16.7-16.8ms - occasionally spiking to 25-30), but are occasionally noticeable (not just by looking at the RivaTuner overlay). What can I do to troubleshoot this as in a game like CSGO this can be a really big issue? Temps, clock speed, fan speed, CPU speed and temps are all normal, and there doesn't appear to be anything unusual happening in HWiNFO or MSI Afterburner monitor corresponding to the frame timing spikes. Steps I have already tried: Uninstall and reinstall latest Nvidia drivers. Switch off DOCP, returning ram to stock 2666mhz and timings. Tried V-Sync both off and on. Enabling low latency mode in the nvidia control panel (made it worse) Unplugging other devices from the extension lead powering my PC. Tried lowering settings. Is there any chance that my cheapo extension lead could be causing this, giving uneven power deliver (although I thought there were capacitors in the PSU and MB which were meant to mitigate this?)? Any help would be greatly appreciated as this is very frustrating as this PC should be able to easily play this game no problem. Thanks
  8. Hi guys, I really don't know if I should enable docp on my pc, mainly because I am running with uneven speed ram (4 sticks, 8gb each but two of them are 3000mhz and other two are 3200mhz) Would it help my system to enable it or should i stay with the default 2133 ram speed it shows on the bios? System: CPU: Ryzen 5 1600x MOBO: Asus Rog B350-F gaming RAM: 2x 8gb 3,200mhz corsair vengeance, 2x 8gb 3,000mhz corsair vengeance GPU: Asus strix gtx1060 Sorry if the post is bad, it's my very first time here. Thanks guys.
  9. Hi all, I've just built my new PC and chosen the Asus x470 Gaming-F Motherboard + Ryzen 7 3700X, combined with Corsair Vengence RGB Pro RAM (4*8GB sticks DDR4 3200Mhz C16) and the compatibility is proving to be an absolute nightmare.I've spent a week troubleshooting the issue of the Computer not always posting, landing on the yellow DRAM LED when it decides not to post. Whether it does post or not is entirely unpredictable, which is weird.I have two reddit threads about it where my full explanation of what I have tried to do to fix it, without much luck, linked here:https://www.reddit.com/r/ASUS/commen...gf_yellow_led/https://www.reddit.com/r/techsupport...o_and_corsair/In summary I've: Reseated the RAM and Power cables + other components on the Mobo besides reseating the CPU. Tried one stick of a RAM at a time (Problem persisted at least once on all four ram sticks Ran mem test 86 on 3 passes with 0 failures with the DOCP Profile enabled and the system decided to post. Tried the XMP readouts from CPU-Z and enter them manually 16 18 18 18 36 54 (The last one being tRc), with 3200Mhz selected + 1.35V. This proved the most problematic, 2 BSOD's + Many issues in HCIDesign Memtest. Tried the same as above but with 56 tRc (had seen this suggested on another thread). This proved the most stable with 3 full cold boots being successful (with PSU Being switched Off/On too, which has always made an impact at some point in all this troubleshooting), but after shutting the system down later on it took 4-5 attempts to get it running again else it would just sit on the Yellow DRAM light. Used Ryzen Master Calculator's safe settings, (I entered the XMP correctly as a HTML output from "Thaiphoon" software. These settings caused my computer to just boot loop until safe mode was activated. Finally, when DOCP is not enabled and the ram sits at 2133Mhz, it seems to be completely stable (as far as I can tell) Despite this, when the system posts WITH DOCP Enabled (Or manually entered the DOCP timings of the Ram, (16-18-18-18-36 + TrC set to Auto as DOCP profile doesn't set this even though it should be 54 according to Cpu-Z XMP Profile) will eventually post after cycling through power numerous times, and once it's in the OS, the Computer is completely stable with no BSODS or anything. For reference, I am on the latest BIOS Version available, 5406, with updated chipset drivers (Which I have reinstalled).Any advice on what to do would be greatly appreciated as I am completely out of ideas. Thanks.
  10. Pc specs: Ryzen 5 2400g Corsair vengeance LPX 16gb 3200MHz Asus Prime b450M-A When enabling the xmp profile or the DOCP setting my computer fails to post and I'm not sure on what to do next.
  11. Hello everyone I recently bought two more sticks of ram and popped them into my rig (described below) and started getting BSODs and chrome would crash. This used to never happen when I only had 2 sticks of ram (2x8GB) but it started happening once I made the upgrade. At some point, I disabled DOCP and it has not happened again, but I only did it recently so I'm not sure if it will happen sometime in the future. I was wondering if anyone in the community may know if having 4 sticks of ram and DOCP on has a possibility of crashing and unstability? I am happy to leave DOCP off and run it at 2133 as it doesn't give me a noticeable difference in every day use, but would like to figure out what was causing the issue. Attached are some BSOD screens that I was able to capture.. I have gotten it couple of more times prior to it, but wasn't ready to take a picture or take a note of the code. Computer specs CPU: Ryzen 5 2600X Mobo: Asus Prime B450-Plus GPU: GTX 1070 Founder's Edition Ram: Corsair Vengeance DDR4 32 GB 3000MHZ, 15-17-17-36. (2x8GB originally, now 4x8GB. All 4 ram sticks are exactly the same except for two of them has version 5.22 and the other two has 5.32. Currently running without DOCP) All other settings on the BIOS is auto. Please let me know if I've missed any information that is needed. Thank you for your help.
  12. Corsair Dominator Platinum 1866Mhz 16GB (4x4) FX 8350 Asus 970 Pro Gaming/Aura (latest BIOS version) I set the BIOS to DOCP's (aka Asus' version of XMP) profile that matches the frequency and timings for stock operation of the memory. However, once I boot up it's still stuck at 1333 in both task manager and Aida64, which is the highest non-DOCP setting. I can manually set the values and get it to work that way but I've always been curious as to why DOCP doesn't work. Also, Google searches just come up with people completely unable to boot at all, unlike my situation where I can boot, just getting the wrong values.
  13. Hi All! I have a query regarding RAM latency on a friends 2700X build His specs: Asus Prime X470 board Ryzen 2700X Corsair Vengeance 16Gb kit He's recently bought a new graphics card (Second hand 2080ti) and he's not quite getting the performance he was expecting out of it. I've already explained that the 2700X isn't the 'Best' CPU for that card and he understands that but running a few test between his computer and mine we've noticed some differences between the two systems. I'm still running my 6600K in a Z170 board. The biggest difference is he's getting some serious latency in Passmark Mem test compared to my own system with his RAM in it. Here's the pics: This pic shows what he is getting on his system in Passmark The following Pic show what i'm getting with his RAM kit in my PC Now, all either of us are doing with timings is turning on XMP/DOCP in our bioses. No other timing are being changed. The reason I'm asking this is to find out if this is normal for a 2700X really or if i've got to tweak the timings in his bios or not Thanks in advance for any information Chunk
  14. So, I have had my Ryzen 5 1600 rig running for about a month in a Asus B350-F motherboard and for my first decent PC build it was problem free, it booted first time and it was all groovy. HOWEVER, I was very concerned when picking parts about my RAM speeds because it helps Ryzen for gaming so I picked a 2x4GB Corsair LPX kit at 3200mhz and it is this kit: CMK8GX4M2B3200C16 So my issues where based around the clock speed it would run at and how it affected my system, because its DOCP (The AMD equivelant of an XMP profile) would result in a boot loop so that was out of the question and the most stable speed I could get to work was 2666mhz. Some games were much more sensitive to the RAM, GTA V was pretty ok on any speed up to 2800mhz but CSGO would crash frequently at anything above 2666mhz. I just went outside of my return zone whilst writing this (im an actual potato) and I have saved up enough to buy a replacment or something of a similar price, when looking on amazon (because us brits dont have newegg) I found an identical kit that was just 3000mhz that is in my motherboards QVL so if I bought this would it go at its rated speed? I am absolutely fine with 8gb for games, I havn't had any problams with it, but I really want to know if there is a fix to my problems before I pull the trigger on a bloody expensive purchase. (I am using most recent BIOS aswell)
  15. Hello again. I got my PC up and running.. But now my problem is, then i try to set my RAM from 1333Mhz to 1866Mhz (Wich they support) my PC wont start and i have to do a BIOS reset ( taking out battery). I get really shit performance with 1333Mhz.. My RAM is Corsair XMS3 1866MHz 8GB Vengeance CL9. Its dual-channel 4x4. In my BIOS, there is an option called D.O.C.P. and an option called Profile 1#. Then i select Profile 1#, my PC cant start. If i select 1866Mhz DOCP, my PC cant start.. I can try provide with pictures, if wanted. My motherboard is Asus A88XM-A.
  16. Thanks for coming here to help me out! Currently I'm a bit bamboozled by the situation that I have, so recently I had 2 Blue Screens: I don't remember the cause of the first one but it happened when I was running a full system scan of bit defender, the second one was caused randomly when I was watching a streamer and using Paint.Net to do my drawing work, this time I noted the error code: (attempted execute of noexecute memory). So the first logical thing that I did is run Windows Memory Diagnostics tool, the first result was bad. I decided then to turn off DOCP (AMD equivalent of XMP profiles) for my Trident RGB ram, it was initially set to it's 3200Mhz rated speed and so I tuned it down back to 2133Mhz (default speed) and also tuned down the cpu clock rate back to 3.2 (Ryzen 1600). I run the Windows RAM tool again and this time it showed no errors. Should I be worried guys? Also if this is a driver issue, which drivers should I update? Full System specs: - Ryzen 1600 CPU - GTX 1070 MSI GPU - G.SKILL F4-3200C14D-16GTZR Trident Z RGB Series 16 GB (8 GB x 2) DDR4 3200 MHz - Samsung 850 EVO 250GB - WD Black 1TB HDD - ASUS ROG STRIX B350-F Socket AM4 AMD B350
  17. Hello, Let's start with the relevant parts in my PC. (Actually maybe CPU is relevant as well, it's a ryzen 5 1600) https://pcpartpicker.com/list/jQF2M8 I checked in the BIOS and saw that my RAM is set to run on 2133MHz, so I wanted to change it (as I paid for 2666MHz). What I did was go into the BIOS -> Advanced Mode -> AI tweaker and set 'Ai overclock tuner' from 'auto' to 'D.O.C.P.'. When I try to boot it fails a few times (screen has no input), then it says something along the lines of 'overclock failed'. Also, since it said 'overclock failed', I was wondering. Does this count as overclocking? Because it's not right? I don't want to lose warranty
  18. So a few weeks ago, I decided to manually enter my XMP settings into my VI Hero since I heard a while back that not using DOCP can make Ryzen run a bit better. Turns out, it's true, my 1700X idles way better now (it used to keep jumping to it's XFR voltage of 1.5v frequently even at idle, where as now it holds it's idle voltage of 0.8-1.1v without jumping around) AND I got a 3C reduction in idle temps. Then just today, a friend of mine decided to try the same thing out (I didn't tell him about my results it was completely random) with his B350 Tomahawk and 1500X and he got IDENTICAL results as me. His 1500X idles better, and he also got a 3C reduction in temps. Is anybody else having the same effects?
  19. Hi all, I have been trying to get my memory to run at its rated speed since day one and have failed in many different attempts. My Configuration 1. Ryzen 1700x 2. G.SKILL TridenZ RGB 8GBx2 3000MHz 3. ASUS Prime x370-pro motherboard 4. samsung nvme ssd 256 GB 5. XFX Vega 64 GPU 6. CORSAIR H100i cooler I have the latest BIOS and Ryzen master installed. Not using Ryzen master to overclock These are the tests I have done so far. Setting DOCP in the BIOS and allowing the DDR speed to be at 2933MHZ Gets stuck in boot loop or wont post Setting DOCP but lower memory speed 2677MHZ Gets stuck in boot loop and windows wont load Set DOCP but lower the DDR voltage to 1.35V as specified in QVL of Ryzen 1700x Doesn't post Advertised speed rating for the memory is as follows 16-18-18-38 at 1.35V and 3000MHz rated, but 2933MHz for ryzen 1700x This exact memory model is not in the QVL but its close F4-3000C16D-16GISB is found on the qvl, attached. Memory-QVL.pdf I would like some guidance on how to get my memory to run at 3000MHz or 2933MHZ instead of 2133MHz which seems to be what it defaults to. Thanks! Bob
  20. using the ryzen 2600 on the strix b350f with patriot viper pc4-21300. docp is trying to set it to 16-17-17-36-1.2v. any suggestions on a timing set to try to get the ram to run at 2666mhz not 2134mhz
