Hey! Just sold my ASUS STRIX RAID PRO sound card because it made electrical noises when gaming and the drivers sucked. I have a Modmic 4 + Sennheiser HD8 DJ. I've been thinking about buying a new microphone for my youtube channel, probably a blue yeti. So I was wondering what you think the best solution would be. 1. Buy a blue yeti and power my headphones though it. + buy a cheapo $1 dollar sound card for my modmic to use while in discord, teamspeak etc. 2. Buy a sound card like the Sound BlasterX G5 Extern Ljudkort or ASUS Xonar U7 MKII and plug my modmic + headphones into it and skip the blue yeti for now. 3. ? What do you guys think I should do and what do you think about my product choices?

I am trying to connect my KRK Rokit 5's to my PC as well as my numark mixtrack pro 3 to my PC. I want my PC to use my KRK's as speakers normally. When I want to record my my DJ mixes I want to be able to connect my mixtrack pro 3 to [insert what I need] and start mixing. My biggest issue is what do I need. Do I need an audio interface or a dac or both? I know the sound cards that come with PC's usually do not have enough juice to really let studio monitors perform at their best, but I do not know how a DAC would connect to my PC anyways. My mixtrack pro 3 has a built in RCA audio interface so do I need one for my computer? I have a lot of questions and I am generally confused at what to do can anyone help? I have include some pictures to maybe help everyone get a feel of what's going on.

All VGA, DVI Ok anytime I play Traktor pro 3 in DVS mode ( which is mp3 mixed with vinyl ) My load bar on the program will be low but ever couple seconds some time it 15 some time it 3 minutes will jump to the red cause the program to hiccup and some times it messes up the MP3. When I run all three programs the load bar on Traktor 3 is constant half and jump up the same. I was thinking it was usb buffering so I got a usb pci card thinking my be the motherboard usb just stinks but it did not help. I have tried different USB slots and cords I have set Traktor to all the different setting with the same results. Any help would be appreciated

Dear all, I have question about what Audio Interface to buy. My budget is €100 or $115 I want to hook up my PC, KRK Rokit 5's and my Pioneer DDJ-SB3 at the same time. I also want to get rid of pc noise in my KRK's so thats why I want to get a good audio interface. Any recommendations/tips?

So, I have a friend who is a dj and wants some help. Earlier today, we were joking about consoles, you know, the usual, when he brings up that he is planning a build. He isn't super techy so he was looking at a company to build it for him. I'd like to help him, building it myself, but I need some help editing the components. Idk what a dj/music composer needs, but the build included a GTX 1050 originally (he said he wanted a 30" ultrawide display, but I think the cpu's integrated graphics should run it). I'm thinking more of an external sound card. He also wants RGB (of course). Idk, I'd love to hear your suggestions, thanks! CPU : Intel Core i7 8700K (He insisted he wasn't downgrading from an i7. I don't know much about coffee lake, but I don't know if it is overkill or it will bottleneck. Hi! This is my first post here and I'm looking for some recommendations. My old Dell XPS14Z just died after 5 years and I need a new laptop I basically use my computer to work and to DJ. I use traktor and ableton. I wanted to buy a Mac, but i might be a little bit too expensive and as much as my first Dell was amazing, the XPS had many problems. So I'm thinking of switching to Lenovo and this are my 3 favorite options. What would be some good DJ headphones? I would like recommendations in the sub $50 range as well as sub $150 range I was looking at the sennheiser HD6 MIX ($150) but from the reviews it seems like I need to step up to the HD7 DJ since it has better noise isolation, and the swiveling earcups, since the HD6 are not really for live performances The HD7 are $180 though so I'd like to see what other options are available *circumaural is preferred Thanks

Hey I was looking at reviews of HD8 DJ though these are good headphones build quality seems really good and they will last long time (I hope?) I've old razer headphones from 2009 or so..still going strong but I love music and audio stuff..so I figured might as well buy good pair of headphones..so I don't have any other audio equipment like amp or dac. I was curious can I use the HD8 DJ with just onboard audio of maximus VII hero? or am I required to buy something? my main question is do I need some extra equipment to make these headphones to work properly? thanks

I'm currently searching for a decent laptop. But I don't know much about laptop's and their prices. I don't need an expensive beast of a laptop that handles heavy duty tasks and games. I'm mostly gonna use it for running my DJ software (such as Traktor), music and other general tasks. I would prefer either a Dell or Asus laptop, since they're very reliable. It needs to have an Intel i5 processor or an equal AMD one (although I prefer Intel) 2.0GHz and 4GB of RAM. Higher end laptop suggestions that are not too pricey are welcome too.

Hey guys i'm looking for a pair of headphones that fit my needs and i've settled on these two, $200 is about my limit but is the extra $100 worth it for the m100s? Also to owners of either or both please leave your thoughts on both and if possible a comparison of each to its own. I have read some head fi forums on this and from what i can tell it is just: M100s can fold, have clearer mid-range and cleaner bass. LP2s punch a bit more. I'm open to any and all comments on both headphones.

More specifically, ones on HD8 DJs'. (The leather ones and the velour ones) I've Googled around but I'm still not sure how to clean it, and I don't want to damage them. Right now they still smell fine, I'm just wondering just in case I need to clean it in the future use. Sorry if this question is like really really really noobish, I've just never properly cleaned one.

I apologize for the phone pics in advance. I tried to get the best I could. Build Quality This is the cheapest full size headphones I still own, and it shows. It's very light weight, very cheap feeling but at $20 it's to be expected The earpads are more plasticy than leathery and are a little smaller than I like. srh840 pads can fit loosely and they fix any comfort issues I've had, but they double the cost of the headphone, so not recommended unless you have an extra pair of pads just laying around. The headband has 3 thin pillows that are pretty soft. I usually have issues with the the ear pads being too small before I have headband problems. The headphones fold up for travel and the ear cups turn 90 degrees for wearing around the neck or they can flip outwards for whatever reason headphones do that. The hinges feel weak and loose, I haven't used them a whole lot over the 2-3 years I've owned them but I haven't run into any breaks or cracks yet despite feeling so cheap. Sound Quality Here are the Innerfidelity graphs. http://www.innerfidelity.com/images/Monoprice8323.pdf For those that care I'm using an iBasso D4 and M^3 for review. The detail overall isn't the absolute best but you can't expect perfection on $20, it just won't happen. The bass is fairly strong, a little more than I prefer, but not overbearing or anything to strongly complain about. There is some weird vocals, I can't put my finger on it but it sounds like there's a weird dip in the response. it kind of bugs me. it's just not as linear as I like. I prefer the koss porta pros for vocals as the response seem more linear(not to be confused with neutral, koss porta pros have a pretty steep slope downward on a frequency graph) Treble is not nearly as detailed as I like or as pronounced. I like sparkly highs and these just don't seem to do them justice. Final Thoughts For ~$20 it's hard to complain, but due to the weird sounding vocals, I'd push for the koss porta pros if your budget allows. They seem to provide a smoother more linear sound than the monoprice. They are sealed back, so if you have a nice pair of open headphones for home use, they might be a good option if you want something for portable/travel use that isn't a big deal if they get broken or lost.

I Need to Find a Creative Laptop BUDGET: $2500 or more if absolutely necessary. Now to the details, I have just got involved in a couple of businesses that require me to use creative tools. I have entered the dance lighting business and need a laptop to handle the DMX controller for the lights, along with being able to hand programs for djing as we are planning to expand to lights and music. Also, I am starting to create a few websites, one of which for the lighting business, another for sales. I need a laptop with amazing color and pixel density to make professional looking websites. Finally, I am entering the game design industry and need a laptop that can effectively use all of the necessary programs (Unity Engine, Adobe Suite) So far I have come to the conclusion of a maxed out Macbook Pro 15, with the student discount the total would be $2547 before taxes. Before making my final decision, I would like to hear good alternatives to my decision. Also, If i am getting the macbook pro, lower models are not an option as they do not have the Nvidia GPU. Thanks in advance.

When will there be a review of these headphones? I am really not sure if they will do for my travel needs, like noise leakage.

Background In case some of you are unaware, these are a very popular pair of headphones on the internet. Ever since late 2009 I’ve seen rave reviews pop up all around the internet. 4chan /g/ headphone posters declared it “the official headphone of /g/” (it is now currently either the Sony MDRv6 or HiFiman HE-500 depending on who you listen to). It’s been given such accolades as “Beats Killer” and “the best pair of headphones at any price”. This headphone has had more hype surrounding it than any other headphone on the internet besides the infamous Beats by Dr. Dre. Beats fanboys have lined up on YouTube and professed their changing of allegiance to this headphone, and Cadillac commercials have featured them. So is it really worth all that hype? Build and Comfort If nothing else, this is one nice looking headphone. The cups prominently feature the Audio-Technia logo surrounded by a silver metal ring. They come in black, but there is also a special edition silver version, a white version, and most notably a fire-engine red version. Very flashy. However, this headphone is not simply designed to serve as a headnecklace to fashion conscious teenagers. This is a professional DJ monitor, featuring high isolation and the ability to monitor with one side of the headphone only while not having to hold them in any special way. This leads to a very complex headband featuring 3 different degrees of freedom. The cups can be bent back and forth, rotate 180 degrees, and the entire cup can be folded back against the headband with a pair of headband hinges. Since this headphone has a single cable lead, the wire connecting to the right cup has to worm its way through this complex mess of joints to get to the other side. While it’s proven to hold up pretty well, I’ve heard of numerous accounts of the right cup going silent, so it’s worth noting to treat these with care if you want them to last and not force the cups into any strange gymnastic feats. I personally find that the rotation of the cups can make getting these on your head unruly at times. Once you get them straight, however, they are quite comfortable. One of the major complaints about the comfort of this headphone is that it exerts excessive clamping force on its wearer. I’m sorry, I’m just not feeling it. If it really bothers you, you can just stretch the headband out a bit until the headphone wears in. My only complaint is the earpads are completely unbreathable and cause your ears to get quite sweaty over a long period of time. I usually wouldn’t even mention the cable termination, but it’s quite fancy in this case. The screw on ¼” jack is gold plated and the entire jack is metal. There is a spring on the first portion of the cable to keep you from pulling on the cables leading to the connector when you tug it out of a jack. My cable is straight as this is the ATH M50s specifically, but the normal version has a coiled cable if you take issue with those. Sound Quality The cups on the Audio-Technica ATH M50s are closed and as you would expect there is a major low frequency compliment to these headphones. When I first plugged these in, I thought I was listening to a very cheap headphone indeed. The bass was bloated and uncontrolled and the highs were non-existent, much like the Beats Solo I’d tried in a store about a year back. Disappointed, I trucked through listening to some YouTube videos with them. Even voices sounded off and distant. I tried re-screwing on the ¼” jack a few times thinking it was a connection issue. Nope. I put them away in their bag for about a day, and then on a whim pulled them out for a couple more hours of listening. By the time I’d reached that second hour, the perceived signature of these headphones had completely changed. The high frequency response rose about 5 dB, and the low frequency response weakened and became much more controlled. Mind you, even now it’s still a pretty bassy headphone, but nowhere near as bass-heavy as my old Beyerdynamic DT990pros. The detail is excellent, and I find them very enjoyable to listen to. Sounds are more distant and laid back and sound more like a pair of good speakers and a subwoofer, much like my Custom One Pros in position 2. In fact, both these headphones are neck and neck in audio quality, with the Beyers being slightly more laid back and having a bit more bass bloom, and the Audio-Technicas being a bit louder in the mid-range. Isolation is similar to the Custom One Pro as well. They really are very similar headphones if you don’t look at them. Conclusion If you don't believe me, do you believe Dr. Dre? I think I can now say this with a great bit of confidence that these are indeed worth the hype, but probably not so much at the $150 price point. Compared to already overpriced headphones these are definitely much more worth it even at $200, but I think there are overall better options once you hit the $150 mark. Lots of very nice headphone are at and BELOW this price point that have lots of detail and are also built with better materials. However, this is an excellent choice even at $150 in a couple situations. If you lack special amplification, these are incredibly easy to drive off desktop onboard, portable media players, and smartphones. Also if you like the look of the Beats by Dre, but don’t want to pay $300 for a pair, this is an excellent alternative that looks, in my opinion, and just as pretty, especially in red. As such it’s prominently featured on my image in the FAQ as a tried and tested headphone, but I’d wait for a good sale around the $100 price point before I picked up a pair. At that price point, it may certainly be one of the best values I’ve encountered yet.

The pictures may still suck, but they are better than my phone camera. Build Headband wise, same style as the 840's. Leathery top and a mesh bottom. unfortunately I had some comfort issues with it. the 840's are about 2.5x wider than the 550's. They just centered the pressure a little too much for me, but it was easily corrected with a slight adjustment. being supraural they can't rely on the earpads to stay on your head so the clamping force is a lot greater than anything else I own, causing some problems when wearing glasses. The earpads aren't very deep but are very wide and provide a decent seal. The 840 earpads are a little softer and smoother, but the 550's still have nice pads. The cable has the same termination as the 840's, but the cable is a much smaller diameter, isn't detachable and splits to go into each cup. Sound This is a great example of bigger drivers not being better. the 840's only have 40mm drivers but these have 50mm drivers. Nothing with these seems nearly as accurate as the 840's the bass and vocals sound kind of muffled and they aren't nearly as bright as I like, even on tracks I know are fairly treble heavy. Ideally I feel these should have either slightly lower mids or slightly higher bass, and a lot more treble, but they aren't terrible for their price point. Final Thoughts I feel these are a great entry into audio. There's still lots of improvements to be had in higher end headphones, but if I didn't have srh840's and HE500's sitting next to me, I feel these would be great for everyday use.

Hi Guys! I was looking for some help/advice i buying a new pair of head phones. The price isn't a major problem up to about £400 (US$650.0). I watched the Linus video on the HD8 DJs and have heard him talk about them and that they have amazing audio quality so they have really peaked my interest but so have the custom one pros so I could do with someone who is better informed on the subject to shine some light on the matter. If you have any other options it would be most appreciated! Thank you!

I'm searching for a entry-level mixer and a couple of cd-players to connect to my computer. I don't want something very expensive, just something cheap and simple to see if I like it. Has anyone experience with it? Any help is appreciated a lot! grtz
