Hi everyone. I bought a new pc. I have an MSI B650-S pro mb and gigabyte windforce 4070 super. After booting it up, i cant see the loading screen and it only shows the win11. When i tap to del button to enter bios or f11 to select an os, there is nothing too. I am sure that it goes to bios because the windows doesnt come. These problems only occur with DP and not with hdmi. I tried connecting DP cable to cpu (ryzen 5 7600) but the result was same. what is the issue?

Hi. I can not set my refresh rate above 120Hz with 10-bit color depth. It automatically switches to 8-bit. Even though my monitor claims 170Hz, it's only usable at a maximum of 120Hz with 10-bit. Is this a cable or monitor issue? My monitor model: VX2780J-2K Cable: Ugreen 80391 DisplayPort 1.4 cable. GPU: 4070

Howdy! I've recently bought my forever home and I want to make my living room desktop setup as clean as possible. The main thing I want to do is put my PC in the cellar, and just have a desk with display, mouse and keyboard in the living room. (maybe cellar isn't the right word, it's more like a completly underground floor, including a garage) There's plenty of space, it's dry, it's cool, it's the perfect place for computer equipment. I've seen the devices on the Chinese wholesale websites, HDMI over ethernet and such, but those devices only support a refresh rate of only 60hz at 1080p or 30hz for 4k. I would like a device that let's me plug in HDMI/DisplayPort on the PC side and on the monitor side, and connect the two with ethernet or whatever cable it requires. I recall Linus having a 'remote' setup like this, it's there a list of devices involved?

Looking for a 4 way switch, for dual monitor, sim cockpit, tv.
ChaosNctrl posted a topic in Displays
I have an annoyance I'd like to get rid of. I don't like to have all 4 displays hooked up at the same time. I play with a dual monitor setup on my pc but when I play on my sim rig (different monitor) I just unplug the two mains and plug in the cockpit monitor, same goes with the living room tv (10ft cable around the doorway) It's a mess to get behind my pc and have cables just dangling back there to fiddle with. I'm looking for a clean solution that could be 1 2 or 4 even presses of a button to switch between the 3 setups. I don't care if I have to push 4 physical buttons as long as I don't have to go into display settings and disable and enable each display. Does anyone have a good idea of something or "somethings" for a solution? hey everyone! after some unsuccessful attempts at google and reddit here i am posting for the first time on the forums! i just bought a Gigabyte G5 MF laptop 16gig ram, rtx 4050, I5 512 SSD, from my understanding the mini DP port is the only on that connects directly to the GPU so i was hoping to use that port to connect to a monitor, i was un able to buy a mini dp to dp cable or adapter locally and have yet to try amazon. iv found a couple posts on reddit saying that there WAS a bios update on gigabyte that fixed the problem with the mini dp port not working but that has since been taken off of their site, anyone have any other fixes i could try? thanks in advance! its been driving me nuts! iv tried bios updates, nvidia drivers, intel drivers, windows updates, etc but right now all i can get to work is the HDMI port

Hi all, I recently got the Cable matters DP to HDMI cables for my LG C3 triples setup. The Cable matters cable simply does not work at 120Hz, the screen goes black. Weirdly, it works with other 120Hz displays (tested it on a friend's CX). I verified that the TVs themselves are capable of 120Hz by connecting them directly to the single HDMI port on 7900XT. Deep colour is enabled. The cables are also at the latest firmware version. Anyone know what to do here?

Gigabyte z790 aorus pro x white. Paired with intel 15 13600k. The hdmi works but the DisplayPort on the motherboard doesn't seem to show any display. I am currently using 4 screens in my set up. A small one in my pc, my 49 inch g9, and two other 1080p screens. I want to use the display port for one of the 1080p monitors and the hdmi on the motherboard for the small pc screen whilst the other two main screens which i will be using for gaming is plugged into the gpu. Now i am able to run all 4 screens with the small pc screen using the motherboard hdmi but i paid £400 for my motherboard. I sure as hell want everything working even if i wont use it. I want to know whether i got a faulty one with a botched dp or whether im missing something. Rest of the specs are ddr5 t force 32gb (2x16) running at 6000mhz. RTX 4070ti. 1000w corsair rmx psu.

Hey guys, The Issue So I've purchased LG's 27GN800 a couple of days ago. I'm running into this error "an incorrect displayport version setting will cause the screen to be blank". I've tried switching the display port version to 1.2, and 1.1, but when I switch the versions I get this instead "No Signal, Entering Power Saving Mode". I get this issue whenever I'm playing games. Yesterday, I was playing GTA V and the monitor just went blank when a cut scene started. I also tried launching Sons Of The Forest, and the monitor immediately went blank. I was using display port version 1.4 while doing this. After a couple of tries I switched the dp version to 1.2 and capped the monitor to 120hz, and everything was working fine again, but the next day same thing happened again. So I messed with the refresh rate and fps cap again and it was working again for a while but then I got the same blank screen but this time it showed "No Signal, Entering Power Saving Mode" instead of "an incorrect displayport version setting will cause the screen to be blank". The displayport version setting error goes away whenever I switch to dp version 1.2 or 1.1. One thing that occurred to me is that the monitor is going blank whenever I hit a certain refresh rate or a resolution. I could be wrong though, but this is the only thing that makes sense to me. I'm not sure if it's a combination of both or it's one of those two or what's the specific refresh rate. I have tried doing the same with hdmi cable, but I get "no signal". At this point capping the refresh rate at 60hz works most of the times, but I want to utilize 144hz which is supported by my monitor. I have reached out to LG but their Engineer's don't know a thing about this. Solutions that I have and found and tried. I have tried installing latest graphic card driver, and the monitor driver. It doesn't work, the only difference I saw was the monitor was identifying as "PnP Generic Monitor" in device manager before I installed the latest drivers. After updating the monitor drivers it identified as "LGUltraGear DisplayPort". I have tried unplugging ever cable and letting it sit like that for 30 seconds but the issue still persists. The CPU stays on, but the monitor goes blank. The graphic cards fan is spinning and the temperature's are also normal. 40-45 while idle and 80 when I play something like GTA or Cyberpunk 2077. I have tried uninstalling graphic drivers in safe mode by using Display Driver Uninstaller I have tried resetting my monitor's settings. Here are my specs. GeForce® RTX 2060 SUPER™ GAMING OC 3X 8G (rev. 2.0) (I have read somewhere that 2060 has 1.4a dp version, but it should be backwards compatible, right? correct me if I'm wrong) AMD Ryzen 5 3600X 6-Core Processor Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 3200MHZ Cooler Master MWE 650w Power Supply

Helo, this is my first time posting and im in need of urgent help. Basically i bought vga to dp adapter so i can use my old monitor. The monitor worked fine in bios but as soon as i loged in it turned black (not off) and sometimes it flicked on and off for like 10 sec and than it just doesn't show until I restart it. I did everything from installing drivers to switching ports and it just doesnt work. Whats is even weirder is that when i plug in my TV to use as a second screen, just so i can tweak some settings, the display port cuts signal from my TV and as soon as i unplugg the dp tv comes back. Tho, that problem fixed itself but i still can't get my monitor to work. For all i know it could be a bad cable or a bad adapter, but than why does the bios work flawlessly. So what is it than and how can i fix it? sry for the rant, im on edge ps: i have r5 5500 and rx 6600 just for context

Hello! So I'm looking to have a dual monitor setup and since my gtx 1050ti only has two ports on it that i'll use (don't wanna go with vga), I want to know if it would work to use displayport for one and hdmi for the other? Also if other options like a displayport to hdmi cable or an hdmi splitter would be better options than different kinds of ports being used? I don't think there would be any problems but... I'm completely new to this and want to know before I buy my second monitor.

Hey, I recently upgraded from my MSI RTX 2070 Gaming Z 8G to the ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 4070 12GB GDDR6X OC Edition. I have two Monitors connected to it via Displayport (ASUS TUF Gaming VG27AQ & iiyama G-MASTER G2730HSU-B1) and a TV via HDMI (LG OLED C2). Before everything was working fine, but after installing the new card, one of the monitors says it has no signal. The weird thing is that it gets a signal and wakes from sleep the second I turn on the TV. After that I can turn the TV off again and the monitor stays on. This problem occurs after every cold boot (so after the pc was turned off for a while) but not after a restart or short boot. I changed some cables and found out, that whatever monitor is connected to the primary displayport (the one left of the hmdi port) is the one that gets a signal after a cold boot and the one connected to either of the other two displayports gets no signal until I turn on the TV. I thought I may got a card with faulty porty, but after sending it back and receiving a completely new ASUS TUF 4070, this problem persists. So it has to be another thing about my system. I also bought new Displayport 1.4 and HDMI 2.1 cables and this didn't fix it. I don't have the problem when I put my old 2070 back in. So could it be a compatibility-issue with my other hardware? Mainboard, CPU, anything? I feel like I'm going insane... thanks in advance :) My System: Intel Core i9-10900K MSI MPG Z490 Gaming Edge Wifi Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4 3000MHz ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 4070 12GB GDDR6X OC Edition (before it was the MSI RTX 2070 Gaming Z 8G)

Hallo Sers i experience this specific problem When my computer is idle and turns off the monitors, all of them go blank and then the backlight turns off as expected. However, a few minutes later, one of them, the ASUS PG329Q awakens, and flashes the indication displayport, but the backlight turns on and stays on forever. All of my monitors (three of them) are connected to my GPU via DP cables. None of the other monitors presents this problem. Seems to be a very common problem for various monitor models, when the monitor is connected via DP. Various resolution steps that I went through but did not work: · Multiple DP cables · DDU uninstalled NVIDIA drivers · Multiple NVIDIA drivers · All monitors OC settings · All ASUS display widget settings · Update GPU BIOS · Unplugging USB3 cable · Factory reset of monitor · Reflash the latest firmware For your information, I quote below reports on various similar issues for different models and brands with common ground DP connection: Asus https://www.reddit.com/r/Monitors/comments/hgydke/asus_pa278qv_wont_go_into_sleep_mode/ https://linustechtips.com/topic/1334859-motitor-wont-go-to-sleep-connected-to-displayport/ https://forums.tomshardware.com/threads/monitor-wont-stay-asleep-power-light-turns-back-on-but-screen-goes-black.3690392/ https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/forums/discover/252346/monitor-wont-sleep-windows-10-creators-update/ Other https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FI5QyNR9X_4&t=63s https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/primary-monitor-wont-sleep-go-black-during-power/cbc3fead-ac47-4929-959a-e99ddefae61b https://www.reddit.com/r/MSI_Gaming/comments/i7ar61/monitor_backlight_stays_on_when_connected_via/ https://www.reddit.com/r/ZOTAC/comments/ke2es6/3060ti_displayport_monitor_backlight/ https://community.acer.com/en/discussion/632743/vg280k-backlight-turns-on-and-off-forever-via-displayport-when-monitor-sleeps https://dough.community/t/backlight-stays-on-when-i-put-computer-to-sleep/30906 I tried and i failed to update the GOP firmware at my inno3d 3090 via this tool AMD and Nvidia GOP update (No requests, DIY) - BIOS/UEFI Modding / BIOS Modding Guides and Problems - Win-Raid Forum (level1techs.com) and this GOP Update and Extraction Tool (NVIDIA Only) - BIOS/UEFI Modding / BIOS Modding Guides and Problems - Win-Raid Forum (level1techs.com) with the same result Invalid firmware detected PS: Interesting finding when I am logon in windows, and I swap. display port cables between monitors the "problematic" monitor seeps correctly and the other one has the problem now after I restart my pc the problem reset to the ASUS monitor if anyone can modify my bios with new GOP i will be thankfully VGA Bios Collection: Inno3D RTX 3090 24 GB | TechPowerUp Any other suggestions will be appreciated ASUS PG329Q monitor win11 22H2 build 22621.2215 mainboard ProArt X670E-CREATOR BIOS :1602 PG329Q firmware v036 inno3d rtx3090 bios 94.02.59.00.DD GOP 0x6000a nvidia 537.13

Hey LTT Forum! My MAG241C has had this issue for about 3 years since I got it and now it's been much more of a problem. For the first ~3 months of getting the monitor the display port worked perfectly fine, then one day it just didn't work at all, no matter how hard my dad and I tried we could not get it to work whatsoever so I switched to just using it on HDMI. Then I switched to an AMD (vega 56) card and display port worked perfectly fine until I switched to Nvidia (RTX2080) yet again it refused to function on display port. I switched CSM on my motherboard, worked for an hour then didn't work on display port so I switched back to HDMI, The screen tearing is horrific and almost unusable in some games and applications. Any solution that I don't know of?

Hey guys, so I've looked all over the web and it seems people are having similar issues. I cannot see the post screen or get into the BIOS when using displayport. The monitor shows a black screen until it boots into Windows. Once in Windows I'm all good 1440p 144Hz with G-Sync. HDMI works fine, able to see my post screen and RAID screen show up and enter the BIOS fine. It just won't do it with DisplayPort. I'm using an X99 motherboard so no onboard graphics. Graphics are 2 GTX1070's in SLI. Monitor is PG279Q. Everything is updated: BIOS, chipset, drivers; it's a brand new system and this is my first time using displayport. Is there a setting in the BIOS I'm not seeing to allow it to use DP 1.2?

I have an LG 38GN950-B. I haven't seen anyone specifically report issues on this model of display, but when the monitor goes into power save, after 3-5 minutes, it will disconnect from DisplayPort. It also turns off all the USB ports, but that happens regardless of the DisplayPort connection issue. When I got this monitor, I had 6 monitors already, but got rid of one to make this fit. I still have 6 monitors, and the only difference from before is that this is now my primary display. My Setup ASUS ROG Crossfire VIII Hero AMD Ryzen R9 5950X nVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 (for driving my ultrawide monitors and a VR headset) nVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 (for driving other monitors) The monitor is plugged into the furthest DisplayPort on the 3090. The 970 is in the bottom-most 16x slot on this board which only runs at 4x. That means my 3090 has the full PCIe 16x bandwidth available. Things I've Tried Exchanging the monitor for a brand new one. Swapped the existing Monoprice DisplayPort cable for a QVS one from Micro Center one. Used the DisplayPort cable that came in the box. Changing the refresh rate between from 160Hz to 120Hz, and then to 60Hz. Swapped the existing ASUS TUF 3090 for an ASUS ROG STRIX 3090. Turned off G-Sync. Resetting the monitor settings, disabling overclocking, disabling every power save and eco setting, etc. Using a different color profile in Windows. What worked When using my Surface Pro 6 tablet with a miniDP to DP adapter and the same cable model of cable, it works fine. It's possible this adapter is doing something though. Also, the tablet is using Intel graphics, not nVIDIA. This may be the issue. Help me Does anyone know what might be going on? Maybe something I could do to fix it or at least figure out what's wrong? I've been going back and forth with LG support wasting many hours of my time trying to figure this out. I'd replace the monitor with another brand, but the only other 3840x1600 monitor not made by LG is the Alienware AW3821 (using the same panel). Sadly, you can't disable the local backlight dimming on that display, and reviews say the backlight dimming is really bad. I've thought about getting a 4K replacement, but the only suitable one that matches this width would be a 40" 4K@120Hz curved monitor w/ HDR (if one exists), and it'd have to support HDMI 2.1. At a previous job, they bought me a Philips BDM4037UW which, while only 60Hz, was the perfect size. Philips doesn't manufacture it anymore, and it doesn't fit my needs for a primary display. From looking around, literally no manufacturers have a 40" curved display. They have some 43" models, but they're not curved . Other Reports Online Many people have been seeing these issues with the 27" model, but not the 38" model. I'm assuming that's because I'm in the minority and that most people who own this display aren't using multiple monitors. Just a guess. Amazon review of the LG 27GN880-B. Reddit thread on the LG 27GN950-B. Reddit thread on two LG 27GN880-B. AMD thread on the LG 27GL83A-B. LTT thread on an unlisted monitor. ArsTechnica thread on unlisted LG monitor. Apple Discussions thread on unlisted LG 5K monitor. nVIDIA thread on Acer XB270HU and Acer CB270HU monitors. Others note issues with the AOC 2460PF, ASUS PG279Q, ASUS VG279QM, Alienware AW3418DW, and many others, but this thread is 6 years old. It looks like it was a driver issue. This is also the only non-LG disconnect thread I've seen.

Hi LTT forum! I just got my new ASUS TUF Gaming VG279Q1A and I'm very happy with it. But yesterday it started glitching! there were lines across the screen, and it did it for a minute or two and then stopped. the problem accrued today too. Does anyone have any idea of what is causing this? It's only a few weeks old.

Hello Guys, this will be an somewhat long story but hopefully someone is reading it and has some good advice. The main issue is that my GTX1080 does not output to Displayport after an cold boot. I have 3 monitors connected to it via HDMI, DVI and Displayport. HDMI and DVI work just fine but Displayport shows no signal after cold boot, if i restart after the cold boot the DP monitor gets picked up and works just fine. Lets move on to the symptoms and configuration i use: GPU: Gigabyte GTX1080 GV-N1080xtreme 8GD-PP CPU: i7-6700K @4,5GHz Mobo: Asrock Z170 Xtreme 6 RAM: 32 GB G-Skill Ripjaws V (4 Modules) @3200MHz SSD: Samsung 960 Pro 500GBAnd some other SSD and HDD for Storage and stuff OS: Windows 10 latest version The system did work fine for the last few years, lately I was messing around with OC and the iGPU from the i7. Did connect the outer 2 monitors (HDMI and DVI) to the iGPU. Everything worked fine and ones of a sudden the issue appeared. Now it dosent mather if I enable or disable the iGPU the DP monitor hooked up to the 1080 is not recognized after cold boot. Interesting thing is that the monitor (DP one) wakes up on cold boot but then wents back to no signal. Also back in windows MSI Afterburner for example does not recognize the GPU and shows 0 for Clockspeed and so on (only after restarting Afterburner it shows correct numbers). What I did try so far: Reinstall Windows completly Reinstall GPU driver Flash GPU BIOS Clear CMOS Revert BIOS to default Dial back any OC i had Swap DP Port on the GPU Try to restart GPU driver in Windows with STRG+Windows+Shift+B None of the above changed anything. The next things I will try now is to switch to the second BIOS chip on the Mainboard and maybe clear everything by clear CMOS and removing the BIOS Battery. Searched the Internet for possible solution and some people seem to have this issue with different GPU´s also from older series. None of the people on the internet seemed to fix it so far... Would be very thankful for any advice you have on how to maybe fix this. If you need any other information just let me know. Cheers

Every time I try using my Xiaomi Mi Gaming Display 27" 165 with a DisplayPort connection to my computer (has a Rx 6800 xt), the backlight turns on for a microsecond, then turns off (see video). I believe this might be a faulty DisplayPort cable, since I got this monitor yesterday and only today have I used DisplayPort, even though it was working some hours ago. HDMI still works fine. Are there any other solutions to this problem? VID_20230713013256.mp4

I want to fix some issues with my set up, but I want to make sure that this will work before I spend money on thunderbolt products Problems: PC tower too far from sit stand desk. cables not taught, but I want them clean. PC ports not accessible Cant VR in living room keyboard/monitor connection problems (I think caused by usb extension > usb B/long DP cable) TV only able to do 1080 30hz Goal: 1 cable between computer and desk 1 cable between office and living room 4k60hz on TV in living room VR in either room Questions: Will this work? Do I need TB for this? Are there any advantages to thunderbolt 4 over 3? recommendations for TB docks with SD card readers? CF card readers? recommendations for good TB cables/DocksPCIE cards? Top is my current config Bottom is my goal Essentially I am using my monitor as a hub, running a USB and a DP/HDMI from my tower to the my desk and the livingroom. I want to replace both cables with a Thunderbolt cable into a dock and then from that dock to the livingroom. This will give me clean access to ports on my desk and save me length on my monitors displayport cable running up my monitor arm.

I'm getting a No Signal message when trying to turn on my new monitor. It is a LG UltraGear QHD 27-Inch Gaming Monitor 27GL83A-B. I've tried both HDMI ports in the back of the monitor and the Display Port as well. Plugged in both in the back of the PC. The following happens: HDMI in, DP out, "No signal. Please check your connection. HDMI 2 input is connected. Click Ok to automatically switch to HDMI 2 input" -> couple of seconds -> "No signal. Entering the power saving mode shortly. An incorrect DisplayPort version setting will cause the screen to be blank. If this occurs, make sure the DisplayPort version setting of your monitors matches the device its connected to." HDMI out, DP in, ^ above second message immediately HDMI in, DP in, ^ same Switching to HDMI1 via the monitor controls, gives me the following message "No signal. Please check your connection. The signal is connected to another input. Click Ok and select another input in the input menu." I plugged the HDMI into my laptop and it works fine. I don't have a DP port to test. I don't have extra HDMI/DP cables. Monitor manual states nothing except how to plug the cables in, which I checked. Motherboard doesn't state anything either. The cables are plugged into the GPU, not motherboard. CPU, GPU, and base Case fans are all working. Lights are on, no beep codes or two-digit codes. Keyboard is plugged into the motherboard, it doesn't light up though and it isn't turned on. Everything is new. I reset the monitor settings via the menu, nothing changes, same errors. I find where it states the DisplayPort Version. Its currently set to 1.4, with options 1.2 and 1.1 open. I tried all three, didn't fix anything. I made sure to check all connections. The GPU apparently has DisplayPort outputs of 1.4a. Is this an issue when the monitor can only go to 1.4? I'm all out of ideas. Please help. Hey, Ive got this setup: Gigabyte x670e Aorus Master 7950x3d 4090 Suprim X with these two monitors Samsung odyssey G7 32“ dell ultrashar 32“ When i have the Samsung connected via DisplayPort and the Dell via HDMI everything works perfectly. but the moment I try to start the PC while the Dell is also connected via DisplayPort I get the Motherboard Code: 3A Which is, according to the Gigabyte manual: „IOH PEI initialization“ It just stays there. Nothing happens. Won’t load into the bios. When I then turn it off, change to HDMI and turn it back of everything works fine. I have tried 3 DisplayPort cables I had. Does anybody know why I cannot connect both via DP??? Thanks a lot because it drives me crazy. TL;DR Cannot connect the Dell via DisplayPort without the PC not booting.
