Hey guys, The Issue So I've purchased LG's 27GN800 a couple of days ago. I'm running into this error "an incorrect displayport version setting will cause the screen to be blank". I've tried switching the display port version to 1.2, and 1.1, but when I switch the versions I get this instead "No Signal, Entering Power Saving Mode". I get this issue whenever I'm playing games. Yesterday, I was playing GTA V and the monitor just went blank when a cut scene started. I also tried launching Sons Of The Forest, and the monitor immediately went blank. I was using display port version 1.4 while doing this. After a couple of tries I switched the dp version to 1.2 and capped the monitor to 120hz, and everything was working fine again, but the next day same thing happened again. So I messed with the refresh rate and fps cap again and it was working again for a while but then I got the same blank screen but this time it showed "No Signal, Entering Power Saving Mode" instead of "an incorrect displayport version setting will cause the screen to be blank". The displayport version setting error goes away whenever I switch to dp version 1.2 or 1.1. One thing that occurred to me is that the monitor is going blank whenever I hit a certain refresh rate or a resolution. I could be wrong though, but this is the only thing that makes sense to me. I'm not sure if it's a combination of both or it's one of those two or what's the specific refresh rate. I have tried doing the same with hdmi cable, but I get "no signal". At this point capping the refresh rate at 60hz works most of the times, but I want to utilize 144hz which is supported by my monitor. I have reached out to LG but their Engineer's don't know a thing about this. Solutions that I have and found and tried. I have tried installing latest graphic card driver, and the monitor driver. It doesn't work, the only difference I saw was the monitor was identifying as "PnP Generic Monitor" in device manager before I installed the latest drivers. After updating the monitor drivers it identified as "LGUltraGear DisplayPort". I have tried unplugging ever cable and letting it sit like that for 30 seconds but the issue still persists. The CPU stays on, but the monitor goes blank. The graphic cards fan is spinning and the temperature's are also normal. 40-45 while idle and 80 when I play something like GTA or Cyberpunk 2077. I have tried uninstalling graphic drivers in safe mode by using Display Driver Uninstaller I have tried resetting my monitor's settings. Here are my specs. GeForce® RTX 2060 SUPER™ GAMING OC 3X 8G (rev. 2.0) (I have read somewhere that 2060 has 1.4a dp version, but it should be backwards compatible, right? correct me if I'm wrong) AMD Ryzen 5 3600X 6-Core Processor Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 3200MHZ Cooler Master MWE 650w Power Supply

I’m trying to find a way to run display port 1.4 30ft. Sorry if this question has been answered before but I’ve been trying to find a stable and reliable way to run a 1440p 144htz signal 30ft. It has to be DP1.4 because my Alienware oled 34in monitor only supports 1.4 at high refresh rates. I’ve looked at repeaters, active cables, cables that sayyyyy they are 30ft 1.4 but I cannot seem to find a reliable solution. Every brand I’ve seen seems like some cheap never-head-from-before brand. Any recommendations would be super helpful as I’m trying to build a super clean setup with my computer on the other side of the room. What would you do in this situation?

Hello, I hope all of you are having a wonderful day so far! So I'm planning my new build, and I'm trying to find the right cables in order to connect my 4 monitors. I've been searching for different 1.4 optic fiber display port cables (10m+), but they all seem to have quite dubious claims and the reviews mention a lot of problems with overheating and lifespan issues. I have 3 monitors 1 of which i would like to run at 4k 144 hz, the other 2 monitors I do not care about and could run at something like 1920x1080p 60hz, and finally I'm also connecting my TV, but the PC would be right behind the tv, so a 1m HDMI will suffice there. I plan on having the PC ~10m away from my actual monitors. I also plan on having something like Linus setup with running a optic fiber thunderbolt cable to a Caldigit hub for all my peripherals, however it only offers 2 displayport downstream ports and I'm unsure that it would be able to handle 4k at 144hz. So my question is would this Caldigit hub be able to support 4k at 144hz and a second monitor with 1920x1080p 60hz, and would I also then be able to run something like a very long and very short HDMI cable for the last monitor and TV? If not do you have any suggestion for long display port cable which would be 10m+ and run 4k 144hz? I would be really grateful for any and all suggestions since I am quite new to this and have no clue what I'm doing. Have a great rest of your day! I just got a RTX 3080 and Samsung Odyssey G5 (1440p 144hz) monitor and I have a HMDI 2.0 and a DP 1.4 cable (bought the hdmi from walmart because it supported 4k and 60-600hz then heard DP was better so I ordered an iVanky from amazon)... Which one should I use If I have both? Everything I am seeing says that DP 1.4 is better for PC, but all these sources are like from 2018. And I just saw in a thread that was dated back in may that hdmi 2.0 actually did support 1440p @ 144hz. If the HDMI 2.0 is just as good, does it not matter? When I plug in the hdmi I see the option to select 144hz from display settings and from NVIDIA control panel and UFO Test also shows that the monitor is 144hz. Needless to say, the same is true for the DP cable, which I am currently using. Is the only difference the bandwidth which is 18GB/s for the hdmi (GE brand) and 32.4GB/s for the DP ? Just want to know which one I should be using or if it didnt matter?

GPU : Gtx 1080 Monitor : Asus vg279qm When ever I enter a full screen game my display shows display port no signal, or when I alt tab out of a full screen game. Recently I installed a pcie riser for a vertical Gpu mount but I only started getting the issue after 3 weeks. I have the latest Nvidia drivers and the only solution is to turn off and on the monitor. Aside form that the time to alt tab has increased severely to the point where it takes a good 20 seconds for anything to be displayed.

Hi all, I just ordered a 144hz monitor with "Freesync" (VESA's Adaptive Sync) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01BV1XBEI/ . So I've got a GTX 908 Ti, and don't expect VESA's Adaptive Sync to work over the 980ti's DP1.2 port. Does anyone have a GTX 10xx card, with DP 1.4? VESA is not being explicit in the public docs I've read, as to whether or not DP 1.4 compliance requires support of Adaptive Sync. It looks like it is in "DisplayPort Alt Mode" (see https://www.vesa.org/featured-articles/vesa-launches-full-compliance-test-spec-for-usb-type-c-devices-using-displayport-alt-mode/ ). Good day everyone. I was wondering if I had bought a G-Sync compatible external monior, would the display port 1.4 in my laptop (Asus Zephyrus M, 2019) be able to support G-Sync on it. I've seen a person here claim it worked on their 2018 Zephyrus M, but that laptop supports G-Sync on its in-built monitor. Thanks
