Hello, everyone. I'm suggesting a theoretical way to enhance the performance of gaming laptops that do not support Optimus. I got inspired when I saw a video on YouTube where a person repurposed an old laptop screen and connected it to a laptop via the HDMI port. We know that we can bypass Optimus when we connect an external screen via the HDMI port or sometimes the USB Type-C port. The theory is, since we can connect a laptop monitor using HDMI, why not connect the existing laptop screen to the HDMI port? It's like creating our own version of Optimus without the need for another screen. In theory, this could potentially provide a 10% to 20% boost in gaming performance. I don't possess the necessary skills to carry out this project, but I believe someone can. Perhaps adding a physical switch would be a good idea to activate this feature. Does anyone have any ideas or further insights regarding this theory?

Imagine this, you are a twin, but you share not only physical similarities but mental similarities. This could cause you to forget which twin you where, what would you do ?

So today I'm asking a very important question, and we are simply throwing out the moral question of should we? The simple question but yet as old as time itself, should we, could we, and why shouldn't we? host a Minecraft server java edition from two of these phones they already meet the minimum system requirements and exceed them, it also runs a Linux base (Android), and has 512GB of storage per phone, with 16gb of ram at 3.1Ghz. What is holding us back? time? money? Please let me hear your thoughts

So as most researchers for good pc deals i was always looking at old workstations like dell's optiplex or precesionn series as the best deal if you can find one with an intel 4770 and then pair it with an old 2060 from ebay ( the psu might need to be upgraded ). But now with this new chips from amd i think the 4gen isn't a good choice anymore.

I have a Ryzen 3 1300x, I tried to run Warzone and the game keeps crashing (I know this problem happens with different people). My question here is this CPU bad or too old for games like Warzone, R6 and PUBG. When I open the task manager, mainly on Warzone, the CPU is on 100% for other games its around 70-85% EVEN League of legends. I downloaded Anti-Virus and 3 threats found and fixed and updated my drivers. So tl;dr is that I want to know if the CPU is weak or there is a problem I can fix.

I plan on going with a 11GBPS GTX 1080, specifically the AORUS Xtreme Edition, however im going "cheap" on peripherals, so Ill be using this Monitor: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N1J0B3Q/_encoding=UTF8?coliid=I1GT73PVC41YM4&colid=ZV08283R9PPF&th=1 It is a 2560x1440p Monitor (QHD), however is capped at 60Hz in the Refresh Rate, and the GTX 1080 11GBPS its overkill for 60Hz in QHD, so, can I cap the GPUs output to a maximum of 60Hz? I want the 11GBPS GTX 1080 because it will have a longer lifespan before bvecaoming obsolete, since im aiming at 1440p gaming for 3 years. EDIT: Does this Monitor have speakers? I plan on going with the 2.1 Ch Logitech Z623

Ryzen 7 1800X vs Ryzen ThreadRipper 1900X
DanielMDA posted a topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
I am a gamer, but Id like to get into (casual) mining while I am at school, so, I am inbetween the Ryzen ThreadRipper 1900X or the top of the line of the Ryzen 7s, the 1800X. Which one should I get? Are there performance differences? BTW When is Ryzen II due to come out, alongside Volta, which is rumored to come out soon? -
OK, so these speakers are bothe preety good general purpose and music listening speakers both are 2.1Ch speakers. But Amazon displays the Z623 as Analog, and the Z625 as Analog/Optical, what does this mean? Help. Both speakers have the exact same specs, with the exception on thet. Their RMS is 200W and a peak of 400W, their frequency is 22Hz- 20Ksomething Hz

OK, im doing a build with a GeForce GTX 1060 6GB (9GBPS)/ Radeon RX 580 8GB and a Ryzen 5 1600X with 16GB of RAM. I ask you people if it matters which Mobo do I choose I aim for 1440p (QHD). Another thing that is important to me is sound. Does X370 have better Codecs than B350? Cooment below.

OK, im planning to build for myself a Gaming system, powered by Ryzen 5 1600X and X370, alongside 16GB of RAM and either a GTX 1060 6GB with 9GBPS memory or a Polaris Based AMD Radeon RX 580 8GB. Which is better in performance? Which will receive support for the years to come? Can they do 1440p? Comment below please.

OK, im building some PCs for work, mainly for MS Office, Mail and 1080p Video Playback. To future proof, I chose the 7th Gen AMD A12 9800 APU, which runs on the new AM4 socket, the Flagship, alongside 8GB of RAM (most Office PCs have 2 or 4). The R7 Graphics will serve really well alongside it. I selected the AM4 socket because of the future proofness, if they decide to upgrade later down the road Here is the list, what are your thoughts? https://pcpartpicker.com/list/NmtZNN

Im going to build 3 PCs for Productivity (MSOffice and Mail, Probs 1080p/1440p video playback) and these PCs are designed to last a while, so, I am considering the AMD 7th Gen A12 9800 APU, the flagship of the recently released 7th Gen APUs (Bristol Ridge). However I have a question: The list on AMD says it is a 2M/4T CPU (Plus the 8 CU on the GPU) and as far as my knowledge goes, it means it has 2 Modules and 4 Threads, what does that mean? It is a dual core or a quad core? Specs CPU: A12 9800 APU, 7th Gen (Flagship) RAM: 8GB 2400MHz Corsair Vengeance (2x4Gb) GPU: Radeon R7 iGPU (Found on the APU, 512 Stream Processors, 8CU, Polaris 2.0 Architechture i.e. same as RX 500 series) Cooler: Cooler Master 212X (Dual Fan, for future proofing) (Successor to the 212 Evo) MoBo: Asus Prime mATX A320M-A (or a B350 cheap variant) Fans; 2 120MM Cooler Master Sickle Flow: Without LED Sotrage: WD Blue M.2 SSD (SATA) 3D NAND 256GB or a M.2 PCIe that runs in the X2 Interface. ANY SUGGESTIONS? (WD Black M.2 SSD 3D NAND PCIe X4 256GB of im going with a B350 MoBo). OS: Win 10 Enterprise Monitor: BenQ GW2270 21.5" 1080p IPS/ Acer G247 23.8" 1440p IPS SPeakers: Logitech S120 (w/ 1080p Monitor, 1440p one has integrated speakers) PSU: EVGA 400W NonModular 80Plus Bronze Mouse/Keyboard: MK 270 Combo, Logitech Optical Drive: Asus DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS

I designed this two rigs to be for Work and General Purpose, one uses the new AMD A12 9800 APU (the Flagship) and the other one uses the Ryzen 3 1200, I will also do one with the i3 8100 (alongside a GT 1030) and one with the future Pentium Flagship (without a dGPU). (8th Gen Pentiums and Celerons are coming in December). What are your thoughts on this rigs? Note: This Rigs could be a bit cheaper ($50) but I went with a nice monitor and good storage. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/YHcwd6 https://pcpartpicker.com/list/7L37QV

NOTE: This Thread compares a WD Black HDD against a SSHD, for the sake of pricing. Ok, so some people have told me to go with an SSD + HDD setup, while others have told me to go with an SSD + SSHD setup. To my knowledge both WD Blacks Hard Drives and Seagate Fire Cuda SSHDs have a 7200RPM spin rate and both have 64MB of Cache and the FircCuda has another 8GB of NAND Flash as L2 Cache. DO THEY PERFORM ANY DIFFERENT? (Price difference is around 5-10 USD)

OK, im helping a teacher to upgrade her computer, which is actually preety good. It has a Core i5 6th Gen, and 8 GB of RAM, however it has AN HDD!!! So, which are the best 2.5 inch SSDs for a laptop in terms of bang/buck and which capacity is ideal.

Im a HS student, and im in need of an iPad or Tablet. I normally like more Android/Windows products more than Apple`s, however there are certain apps only available on iPad (or iPad Pro), and I need them for school. Also I think that Ill go iPad Pro because it really doesnt have competitors in specs (unlike iPhones, long live Google and Samsung). However before buying the 10.5 inch iPad Pro (the 12.9 inch is huge, if I need something that big, ill probably need a Mouse, keyboard and desktop/laptop grade programs) I have some questions. The 10.5 inch iPad Pro and its 12.9 counterpart both claim to have a 120Hz Refresh Rate, but quoting Linus in his refresh rate Techquickie, most panels are really 60Hz Panels with Backlight Strobing or other trickeries. So is the iPad Pros 120Hz refresh rate real or is it BS? Also since it has a resolution superior to 1080p (FHD) but inferior to 1440p (QHD) can you select in YouTube 1440p for a slightly better resolution in Video and some Interpolation (AA)?

Hey, Im going to build some PCs for an Office, I was considering Kaby Lake´s Pentium Flagship the G4620, because of the HD 630 Graphics instead of the HD 610 Graphics found in the G4560, this is for better responsiveness, (HD 630 is twice as powerful as HD 610) and the extra MB of L3 Caché alongside the 200MHz faster clock. (G4560: $84.99 G4600: $87.99 G4620: $89.99) I was also considering on the AMD side of things the A12 9800 APU (the Flaghship APU , 4C/4T, 8 CU) or an Athlon X4 970 (the Flaship Athlon 4C/4T) alongside an RX 550 or a GT 1030. All of this systems (Intel or AMD) with 8GB or RAM and a 256 GB 3D NAND SATA M.2 SSD (WD Blue), this to future proof the machines. However, I found myself with a problem: COFFEE LAKE launched. So, the Core series have launched, but when are the Non Core Series (Celeron/Pentium) due to launch launch. Id like to replace the G4620 on the Intel Build with a newer 8th Gen Pentium Flagship. Is there any information of when are the Coffee Lake Pentiums/Celerons due to launch? Any leaks? Id appreciate any information

So, I was wondering, I have been thinking about the AMD code names for their GPUs since the start of the GCN (Graphics Core Next) Architecture, and most codenames have been quite straight forward, they were named after Islands from GCN 1-3 (Tonga, Fiji, Hawaii, Tahiti),. And on the recent years GCN 4-5, it has been named after Stars, more specifically, after our Northstars (Polaris and Vega) both present and future (In that order). But, what is Navi? What does it mean? There are no stars (AFAIK) named Navi, but it doesnt make sense that AMD would change it before trashing >GCN before their next Gen Microarchitecture. So, what does Navi mean? P.S. Please dont post that stupid "Hey Listen" Fairy from the Zelda games.

To you, owners of the Cooler Master N200 case, I have a question for you, and I would like to read your thoughts regarding this Product, so Ill cut to the chase: Im building an office system, and for the case I selected the Cooler Master N200 mATX Case, for price, aesthetics and quality reasons. I have to say, Im quite happy with the internal design, the finish and the mesh. One other thing I really liked it was the form factor, and the front IO is fine, nothing special about that, it has regular USB 3, two USB 2s, LEDs Power Button and such. However, I do have an issue, that must be corrected before the PC can be used. And that´s why I ask you, the owners of this case to help me. The Fans. The Cooler Master N200 comes with two 120mm XtraFlo Fans, but these fans aren´t connected with a regular 4pin or 3pin fan connector, they use this (each one): Because of this, I ask the owners of this case, where do you connect this fans? Does this go in the Motherboard? The Power Supply? Why does each fan have two connectors (Im holding them together)? Please, owners of this case, provide me with any information that you have regarding where do you plug these in, also, some tips when working on this case would be great. Thank you. @Crunchy Dragon @Energycore @Princess Cadence

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/744tm8 So here’s what’s ive built so far and what parts I have as of right now besides the 1060 because of course , the miners got me ? I want some of your opinions on whether or not I should get a Ryzen 1500x over a 1600 or vice versa , and also I’d like to discuss how big of a performance hit I’ll take only running a single 8gb ddr4 2400 (Newegg has a deal on them right now) ram stick in my pc over let’s say a 2x4 at 3000 and what recommended affordable sticks are available. I’m creating a 1080p 60fps build for mostly games from 2014 and below but I also need it ASAP for college and I’m short on money so I need to take shortcuts to get a functioning affordable pc as of right now and later on I can add an additional 8gb of ram and some extra features and what not, let’s discuss! Thank you! EDIT: just checked my link, please disregard that crucial ballistix ram I used it as a placeholder for the estimated cost , thanks!

So, tomorrow I have a Math test, and in my Guide, I cant figure out an exercise. Can you help me? Its Analytic Geometry. But I cant find it on a teachers book. I need to know if you need to square a number. The exercise is about parable equations. The Directive too. The exercise is: y-2x-2=0 with focal poiunts beign (2,-2) However, I dont know if it should be 2x or 2x2? Mathematically in this case what should it be? And in the second exercise, quote: Find the intersection between the parables -x2+4x+y-2=0 and x2-y+2=0? How would you solve that? Any info is appreciated. TO A MOD: Please dont change it to another place, I need this to be seen by as many people as possible. Thank you.

Hey, so, Im helping my teacher change her laptop`s HDD for an SSD, but can you clone the drive (so you dont have to back it up and reinstall Windows from scratch)? And if so, how? Also; im adding another SODIMM to her computer, so it will have 8GB (2 dimms of 4GB each) of RAM in a dual channel config. Well how do you clone it. The SSD that was Selected was a 2.5inch WD Blue 3D NAND SATA SSD 256 GB. (The 3D NAND version is made on a new process is way more reliable than past WD SSDs, its 15% faster than last gen and draws 25% less power)

I know it´s a stupid question but I made a little business (and make a buck while I study) with some people and they want me to build them some PC´s, and I was wondering if they come in stickers like in Laptops or a standard PC. I know CPU´s have it (you know those little Blue Stickers that say "Celeron" or "Pentium" or Blue Silverish ones that say Core (whatever). Also AMD CPU´s have one Athlons and APU´s have a White with Red One and Ryzen ones have one with the logo and Series. So CPU´s have it inside the Box and Gaming Laptops have a Geforce GT / MX or Geforce GTX one and Radeon ones have one that says Radeon Graphics (which is super clean). I was wondering because I want to put them outside the Tower alongside the CPU one, you know, for Authenticity. So do GPU´s come with ze damn sticker thingy?
