Hello! Running into a weird issue. Suddenly my wired connection (cat5e) is running into speed problems. I haven't changed hardware or cabling. my wired speedtest is sitting at 100mpbs, when it used to be 800-1000+ mpbs. my wireless remains at 600-700mbps. ** Upload speeds remain intact across 3 wired computers (100mbps). Shaw bridged > Asus RT-AC3100 > Switch AIProtection On. I did notice that the PC cannot detect proxy settings - not sure when this started happening. This is happening only on one computer. Other wired one is 800-1000 mbps. there is nothing eating up network resources according to resource monitor at idle. I've tried the CMD resets. Restart routers / shaw modem. disable / enable / update check network drivers. malware scan with SuperAntiSpyware & Malwarebytes. windows update (can't roll back Windows bc over 10 days ago). ** swapped cabling between "working" and affected PC. No change. Hopefully someone can help be diagnose this a bit better to see what is suddenly throttling my connection speed? I haven't made any significant changes recently - I just noticed the problem because my Steam download was abysmal (in the Kilobytes range). ** It really appears to be related to some new setting on my PC.

Hey guys, I have looked EVERYWHERE for answers to my issue, or someone with the same problem and have been unsuccessful. Basically I have windows installed, fully updated on my SSD. I have been able to boot in properly and use my computer as normal (I just built it yesterday). Now for some odd reason, only sometimes when I go to boot my computer it doesn't detect the SSD and windows doesn't boot. It says to restart the computer with a device that has the OS or something to that effect. I go into BIOS, and my SSD isn't there (randomly) as a boot option and only shows the HDD I have in there. I've tried turning off my PC and letting it sit for a few minutes and it still doesn't detect it when I boot it back up. I even tried unplugging my whole PC, going inside and fiddling with the SSD to make sure its plugged it, and I know it is because its glowing with the RGB. Sometimes when I go into the BIOS it will finally show the SSD as the top boot option, so I press F10 to save and exit and it still says I need to have something with the OS in it and to restart the PC with it plugged in. Can someone please help me, this is bothering me so much and its very frustrating :(.

when I connect my laptop or pc via new hdmi cable I bought to my monitor (lg dm2350d) it just says "check connection" and ofc I get no image but if on my laptop I go to intel graphic settings and detect display manually then magic happens and it starts to work... until next reboot at least... if I use my old hdmi cable everything works perfectly, I tried to connect laptop to my tv via this new hdmi and all worked just fine so problem is somewhere with monitor and new hdmi sending 1080p to monitor, tried with its both hdmi slots - same result, drivers are new, windows updated, connection is good I just have to force it to start working ... is there a way to automatically force display detection or something I can do to make it work as it should ?

Hi everyone. So I just finished building my PC. I am using the motherboard mention in the title. So is it normal to get a code 30 & memory detect memory on the display of the motherboard. It only happens when I wake my computer from sleep. If I reboot it disappears. This my first one time using a Asus motherboard. Usually I’ve always used EVGA. any feedback would be great. I did contact ASUS. I’m just waiting for an answer. I thought someone in here might know or have an idea what could be causing this

So I have this PC right now for just a little mining rig, these are old parts. So I have two R7 250 2GB GPUs. I have them plugged into a Z97-A MOBO that has 2 PCIE 16 Slots. Now when I open up Nicehash, it only detects 1 GPU. Now the problem is that even when I open up Device Manager, its grayed out saying that its not connected. I have reinstalled the AMD drivers multiple times and I have swapped each GPU to make sure they both work. Now I dont know if this is a problem, but if I try to even put just one GPU in the second or third PCIE 16 slot, it will turn on and spin the fans and all, but it wont show a image and thats for both cards in both slots. Can someone please help me figure this out? The GTX 1080 is my primary GPU that I dont have installed because I am testing this out on this machine, I made sure to uninstall the Geforce Drivers. ALSO THIS IS NOT MEANT TO PLAY GAMES OR CROSSFIRE, BUT FOR MINING!

Hello everyone !I'm having an issue with my monitor: ASUS MG278 My system specs: (from Speccy)Operating System: Windows 10 Pro 64-bitCPU: Intel Core i7 7700K @ 4.20GHz 34 °CRAM: 16,0GB Dual-Channel Unknown @ 1500MHz (15-17-17-35)Motherboard: MSI Z270 SLI PLUS (MS-7A59) (U3E1) 33 °CGraphics: P23T-6 LED (1920x1080@60Hz) - DVIMG278 (2560x1440@144Hz) - DISPLAYPORT4095MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 (ASUStek Computer Inc) 61 °CStorage- 1863GB Hitachi HDS723020BLA642 (SATA) 27 °C- 232GB Seagate ST9500420AS (SSD) 25 °C- 111GB Samsung SSD 840 EVO 120GB (SSD) 23 °C- 1863GB Seagate ST2000DX002-2DV164 (SATA) 26 °C- 476GB Western Digital WDC WDS512G1X0C-00ENX0 (Unknown)I have 2 monitors in my setup: - ASUS MG278 (I use this as my primary monitor)- Fujitsu P23T-6 (Thor edition)I'm extending these monitors in the Windows display settings. The issue: About every 2nd time i boot up my Pc, the ASUS monitor does not detect any signal from the DisplayPort cable. When I go into display settings in Windows, it only detects the Fujitsu monitor. If I restart my Pc the issue gets solved for the most part. Sometimes I have to restart my Pc multiple times to solve the issue. The problem started occouring since I upgraded from: Intel Core i5 2400 @ 3.1GHz - CPUMSI Z77A G45 GAMING - Motherboard16GB HyperX RAMUpgraded to: Intel Core i7 7700K @ 4.2GHz - CPUMSI Z270 SLI PLUS - MotherboardCorsair Vengeance LPX - DDR4 - 16GB @3000MHz - RAMIt would seem like the issue is not the monitor, but the hardware I bought, but I'm not sure. I have tried:- Reset the monitor settings to factory default. - Reinstall a clean version of Windows on my PC- Install an old GPU driver from the time when I have my old hardware- Update to the latest GPU driver multiple times- Disconnect the Fujitsu monitor and let the ASUS monitor be the only monitor connected- Connect the DisplayPort cable to - Connect the ASUS monitor to another PC to see if the issue persists, but it does not. Nothing seems to be working. The issue also occurs in the BIOS and in the entire boot-up sequence. My monitor is not detecting any signal at any time. My Pc POSTs on my Fujitsu Monitor everytime. Any suggestions? Thanks !

Woke up this morning to a low file storage alert on my phone but I ignored it (it was 6am and I was pretty sleepy still). Later in the day, I realise I'm missing a few files here and there. Go to file management on my phone and the sd card, which shows 107GB/119GB shows no files on my phone. Plug it into my laptop and all my files are there. Does anyone have an idea of what's going on? Is there something up with my phone (don't have a spare micro sd card to check, but I can probably try and get one), or is it the micro sd card? The phone is an S7 by the way

I have a computer here that doesn't boot into windows (Windows 10). The PC has been running fine for years but my cousin said he recently left it on for a while, it went into sleep mode, when he got back to it nothing worked, he couldn't click anything and had to hard reset it to turn it off. When he turned it back on the problem started. It keeps booting to the BIOS, and it's only showing the 1TB hard drive, not the 250GB SSD where windows is installed. And no matter what we try it just keeps loading into the BIOS, not even showing the SSD to set it as boot priority. Any help? Hey everyone, so i downloaded a movie onto my computer (which was hooked up at a desk with two monitors which were working fine) and moved it to my TV so that i could watch the movie on a bigger screen. My comp was originally connected to two monitors, one by HDMI and the other with a VGA because of only one HDMI port on GPU. When i tried connecting the comp to my TV with HDMI, it didn't work, so i plugged it in with VGA and that worked fine. When i put my PC back, (my original setup was that the primary monitor was attached with HDMI and secondary was attached with the VGA) only the VGA (secondary) display was recognized and my computer put it as the main monitor which was weird because i had a dual monitor setup before and it didn't recognize it when i put it back the way it was. Anyways, my problem now is that i cannot get the monitor arrangement back to what it was. My PC doesn't even detect my primary monitor anymore and I don't know what to do, I have tried windows+P, AMD catalyst control center and control panel to try and get it back but none seem to even detect my HDMI display. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Specs: i7 4790k, R9 280x, 8gb kingston fury RAM, 1TB HDD. Monitors are both samsung S24D390 24inch monitors (unavailable now i think)

Hey, I had two monitors set up on win 10 and they worked beautifully, but I then changed it to one for a trial period of a day and decided I required the extra room to multi task. Since then my computer can't detect the second monitor and my drivers are up to date. Some times it will show a duplicate but that's all, and it doesn't detect that its doing that either. Any help would be much appreciated, Smiffy

Hi there. I started a thread a few days ago with a similar issue: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/331330-screens-sudenly-crash-off-during-gameplay/ But today was worst. I was playing normal, when the PC restars sudenly, and I don't have any signal, and the GPU fan starts to sound like a leaf blower. So, I connected one of the screens to the integrated graphics I had, and there it is. But all the screen is at low resolutiond and with 4:3 aspect ratio, and just black with the mouse pointer. Then I restart and everything starts normally and quiet. Back on windows again the device manager says that I need to reinstall the graphics driver, and in both screens I have the same image, again at low res and aspect ratio Then after a couple of minutes the sceen goes black and TADA! the drivers are installed, but I did'n make anything. Then BOOM! again, restart with the GPU fan at the top. Now it starts, but with the integrated, but the worst part is that neither Catalyst, OpenHardware monitor or even device manager detects ANY kind of dedicated GPU. Again I had that "no driver installed" and after a while the driver gets itself, but this time with the integrated one. Resume of hardware: HD 3000 integrated, R7 250 dedicated. One iscreen VGA 1366X768, other VGA/DVI 1920x1080 I'm writing at this with juts one monitor and a jet engine on my GPU. HALP! [uPDATE] In device manager i selected sowing hidden devices, and there it is the GPU, but says "the device is not currenly connected tho the PC". But it is.

Hey guys, So basically I have a custom PC with a Rosewill RNX-N250PCe wireless adapter. A while back it was still working fine and it could connect to my home Wi-Fi most of the times. Two weeks ago I upgraded the connection to a fibre network and the adapter can't connect to the network any longer. I was given a new router: DIR-865L, dual-band 802.11ac. So now there's a 2.4Ghz and a 5.0Ghz network. Another PC can connect to either networks, but the problematic one can detect neither. A few networks in the area showed up but none of them was mine. There were two occasions when it could detect and connect to the 2.4Ghz network but that was it. The next time the computer was switched on none of my networks showed up. I've spent quite some time searching for an answer online but there wasn't any solution. So I'm turning to you guys. Thanks in advance! What I've done: Booted up the computer in safe mode. Same problem. Reinstalled the driver. Nope. Change PCIe slot. (I was desperate.) Messed around with the adapter settings. I forgot to mention that it's unlikely to be attributed due to a weak signal because my mobile devices can detect both networks in the same room as the computer. I'm also getting relatively stronger signals on another computer.

Hi. The time has come for me to build a new computer, and naturally you guys gets to help with the few mistakes I've made First problem is related to my stupidity - I bought alot of fans (SP120) with colored rings to make it pretty and stuff, all works, but I figured, with that many fans I woulden't have enough 4pin connectors on the MB to just plug them in - so I bought (and here it comes) a molex to 6x 3pin to connect them all. Now the powersupply has no way to limit the power, so these wonderful fans sounds like a windtunnel, constantly running at 3500 rpm. Do I just get a fan controller and plug them all into that? Any recommendations if so? Would be nice if it could run 5+ fans. Second problem is more of a question, but related to the first question in the amount of fans I need the eventual controller to run. I have an H100i to cool my cpu, when I fitted it, it felt like it wasn't super tight, but the bolts coulden't go any further, I think it might be the backplate sitting a little loose? Anyway, the H100i should supposedly control the speed of the fans on the radiator, but the 2 top mounting cables it has don't fit anywhere, and I can't connect them to the actual fans. If this works out somehow I can cut a few fans from my fan controller and be ok with a fan controller handling 4-5 fans. Last issue (for now!) The entire system worked fine when I booted it up, but I simply cannot get to install windows from USB (I don't have a cd drive). It was never a problem for me before. I tested the USB key in 4 other systems, it works fine, but bios doesn't pick it up at all. Meanwhile keyboards, mice and even other random usb stuff it picks up fine (link from h100i). Thank you for any input you have to help out a noobie MB is MSI Z87-G45 Gaming

I have the 840 gb but I can't get it to work with the SAMSUNG magician program. It just says it cannot detect a samsung disk drive. Here's some background: At some point during my overclocking adventures, I screwed up and had to press the reset CMOS button. That was long ago, like a month. The only problem I encountered was that I couldn't activate windows. Still not activated even today, like 3 days left. Might have to call them. I'm sort of amateurish at this stuff. I just followed what linus did in that techtips video where he upgraded his cameramans ssd. My motherboard is the x58 ud3r rev 2.0, I had a friend build it for me and after that I only upgraded the GPU, PSU and now the SSD. I didn't update any BIOS/SATA drivers etc., all those drivers those that couldn't be installed in Windows. I mounted the SSD first, then connected the power supply cable to the ssd, and the sata cable from the ssd to the sata 3 one.( The white colour one. ) I already unplugged the other HDD. I then started up the system and changed something to AHCI, then change the boot priority so that the CD would boot first. After windows is installed, I installed all the drivers and plugged the other HDD. Then installed the software and encountered this problem. Thats the most I can elaborate :P

I use a Radeon HD 7950. Since I have AMD there is the Catalyst Control Center. There are some weird settings in the Gaming section. I know Anti-Aliasing can make textures look better but I am confused to what some of the settings are. There are 12, 12xEQ, 24, and 21xEQ. What is the difference between the regular and the xEQ? There is another setting called filter that has Standard and Edge-detect. What is the difference? What is Morphological Filtering? I am so new to these advanced settings after coming from a crappy computer.

I have this few months old HDD, 2tb, 7200rpm. Storage space is 50% utilized, defragmented with auslogics, now allegedly 0% fragmented. I suspect it's either a windows update messing with me, or the PSU dying. The drive should be fine, since it works, no data corruption, no s.m.a.r.t. issues, good temp (30C). It's the D drive in win10, there are applications installed on it. Since yesterday sometimes windows failes to recognize it properly at startup. It won't show up in the explorer, but it does in Device manager. This problem can be fixed by switching around the sata cables on the mobo, but it's not a permanent fix. Completely randomly (in idle, after and during usage) it starts to spin up again and again and again. It sounds like it resets for some reason, the head motor and the spinner motor can be heard starting up repeatedly in 3 second intervals. Then it just stops, it's back to normal. Win10 doesn't seem to lose track of it, however sometimes when music is playing from it, it cuts out for half a sec. The PSU is a Be quiet! straight power E9 680w 80+ gold (EOL). It's about 5 years old. It powers a z270 board with 4 DIMMs at factory voltage, a 7700k with +35mV, an MSI gaming gtx 980 at stock, 8 fans, a small pump, an SSD, and another barracuda (1tb, about 2 years old), which works fine. Previously it was pushing an FX8320 at 1.4V and an r9280X for about 3 years. Could it have gotten weaker in the past 5 years?
